1. Present Tense Verb Conjugation | 现在时动词变位

German present tense is used to talk about what is happening now, habitual actions and future events when a time phrase is included. Regular verbs follow a clear pattern: take the stem (infinitive minus -en) and add the correct ending. For example, the verb spielen (to play) conjugates as: ich spiele, du spielst, er/sie/es spielt, wir spielen, ihr spielt, sie/Sie spielen.

Stem-changing verbs like fahren (to drive/travel) change the vowel in the du and er/sie/es forms: du fährst, er fährt, but wir fahren.

许多高频动词是不规则的,特别是 sein(是):ich bin, du bist, er/sie/es ist, wir sind, ihr seid, sie/Sie sind。 haben(有):ich habe, du hast, er/sie/es hat, wir haben, ihr habt, sie/Sie haben。词干变元音动词如 fahren(驾车/旅行)在 du 和 er/sie/es 形式中变音:du fährst, er fährt,但 wir fahren。

Remember that formal ‘you’ (Sie) always takes the infinitive ending -en, just like ‘sie’ (they). Separable verbs such as aufstehen (to get up) split in the present: ich stehe um 7 Uhr auf. The prefix moves to the end.

记住,尊称 ‘Sie’ 总是用不定式词尾 -en,与 ‘sie’(他们)相同。可分动词如 aufstehen(起床)在现在时中分裂:ich stehe um 7 Uhr auf,前缀移至句末。

2. Perfect Tense with haben and sein | 完成时(haben 与 sein)

The perfect tense is the main past tense for spoken German, used to describe what you have done. It is formed with the present tense of haben or sein and a past participle. Most verbs use haben, but verbs of movement (e.g. gehen, fahren) and state change (e.g. aufwachen, sterben) use sein as the auxiliary.

完成时是德语口语中的主要过去时,用于描述已经完成的动作。它由助动词 haben 或 sein 的现在时加过去分词构成。大多数动词用 haben,但表示移动(如 gehen, fahren)或状态变化(如 aufwachen, sterben)的动词用 sein 作助动词。

To form a past participle: for regular weak verbs, add ge- to the stem and -t, e.g. spielen → gespielt. Many common strong verbs have irregular past participles often ending in -en with a vowel change: lesen → gelesen, essen → gegessen. Separable verbs insert -ge- between the prefix and stem: aufgestanden. Inseparable verbs (be-, ver-, er-) do not add ge-: besucht, erzählt.

过去分词的构成:规则弱动词在词干前加 ge-,词尾加 -t,如 spielen → gespielt。许多常用强动词有不规则过去分词,常以 -en 结尾并带有元音变化:lesen → gelesen, essen → gegessen。可分动词在可分前缀与词干之间插入 -ge-:aufgestanden。不可分动词(以 be-, ver-, er- 开头)不加 ge-:besucht, erzählt。

Word order: the auxiliary (haben/sein) is the second idea, the past participle goes to the end. Example: Ich habe gestern Fußball gespielt. Er ist mit dem Bus gefahren.

语序:助动词(haben/sein)位于第二位,过去分词位于句末。例如:Ich habe gestern Fußball gespielt。Er ist mit dem Bus gefahren。

3. Future and Simple Past Tenses | 将来时与一般过去时

The future tense in German is commonly expressed with the present tense plus a time phrase, e.g. Nächste Woche fahre ich nach Berlin. The ‘proper’ future with werden + infinitive is used for emphasis, predictions or promises: Ich werde nächstes Jahr meine Prüfungen machen. Werden is conjugated, then the infinitive goes to the end.

德语中的将来时通常用现在时加时间状语表达,如 Nächste Woche fahre ich nach Berlin。用 werden + 不定式的“正式”将来时用于强调、预测或许诺:Ich werde nächstes Jahr meine Prüfungen machen。werden 变位后,不定式位于句末。

The simple past (imperfect) is used in written narratives and for the verbs haben, sein and the modals in spoken German. For regular verbs add -te endings: ich spielte, du spieltest, er spielte, wir spielten, ihr spieltet, sie spielten. Strong verbs change their stem vowel and have no -te: ich ging, du gingst, er ging. Learning the key imperfect forms of sein (war) and haben (hatte) is essential for reading.

一般过去时(imperfect)用于书面叙述以及口语中 haben、sein 和情态动词的过去形式。规则动词加 -te 词尾:ich spielte, du spieltest, er spielte, wir spielten, ihr spieltet, sie spielten。强动词改变词干元音且不加 -te:ich ging, du gingst, er ging。掌握 sein(war)和 haben(hatte)的关键一般过去时形式对阅读理解至关重要。

4. The Case System: Nominative, Accusative, Dative, Genitive | 格系统:主格、宾格、与格、属格

German has four cases which show the function of nouns and pronouns in a sentence. Nominative is for the subject (who is doing the action). Accusative is for the direct object (what is being done). Dative is for the indirect object (to whom/for whom). Genitive shows possession (owner), though in spoken German ‘von’ + dative is often used instead.

德语有四个格,表明名词和代词在句中的功能。主格用于主语(动作执行者)。宾格用于直接宾语(动作承受者)。与格用于间接宾语(给谁/为谁)。属格表示所属关系(所有者),但在口语中常被“von + 与格”替代。

Definite and indefinite articles change according to case and gender. A quick reference table helps:

定冠词和不定冠词根据格和词性变化。快速参考表如下:

Case / 格 Masculine / 阳性 Feminine / 阴性 Neuter / 中性 Plural / 复数
Nominative / 主格 der / ein die / eine das / ein die / keine
Accusative / 宾格 den / einen die / eine das / ein die / keine
Dative / 与格 dem / einem der / einer dem / einem den / keinen (+n on noun)
Genitive / 属格 des / eines (+s/es) der / einer des / eines (+s/es) der / keiner

Personal pronouns also decline: ich (N), mich (A), mir (D). The dative object usually comes before the accusative object when both are nouns: Ich gebe dem Mann das Buch. But when the accusative is a pronoun, it comes first: Ich gebe es dem Mann.

人称代词也变格:ich(主格)、mich(宾格)、mir(与格)。当与格和宾格都是名词时,与格宾语通常置于宾格宾语之前:Ich gebe dem Mann das Buch。但当宾格是代词时,代词在前:Ich gebe es dem Mann。

5. Adjective Endings | 形容词词尾变化

Adjective endings in German depend on three factors: the case, the gender and number of the noun, and whether the article is definite (der/die/das), indefinite (ein/eine) or there is no article. The AQA specification expects you to use a range of adjectives with correct endings in writing and speaking tasks.

德语形容词词尾取决于三个因素:格、名词的性与数,以及冠词是定冠词(der/die/das)、不定冠词(ein/eine)还是无冠词。AQA 考纲要求你在写作和口语任务中正确使用各种形容词词尾。

After a definite article, the adjective mostly takes -e or -en. The ‘der’ words (dieser, jeder, welcher) behave similarly. After an indefinite article (or kein, mein, dein etc.), the adjective carries the strong ending to show case/gender in the nominative singular (er/e/es), then -en elsewhere. With no article, the adjective carries the full definite article ending except genitive masculine/neuter where it is -en.

定冠词后的形容词大多加 -e 或 -en。der 类词(dieser, jeder, welcher)用法类似。不定冠词(或 kein, mein, dein 等)后,形容词在单数主格时带强变化词尾以显示格与性(er/e/es),其余情况加 -en。无冠词时,形容词携带完整定冠词词尾,但阳性和中性属格为 -en。

Key pattern to memorise: after ‘der’ words → adjective endings are -e in nominative singular (all genders) and accusative feminine/neuter; otherwise -en. After ‘ein’ words → -er (masc. nom.), -es (neut. nom./acc.), -e (fem. nom./acc.), then -en. No article → adjective acts as definite article (except gen. masc./neut. -en). Practice with common sentences: Der große Hund spielt im Garten. Ein alter Mann liest eine interessante Zeitung.

需要记忆的关键模式:der 类词后 → 形容词词尾为单数主格 -e(所有性)以及阴性/中性宾格 -e,其余为 -en。ein 类词后 → -er(阳性主格)、-es(中性主/宾格)、-e(阴性主/宾格),然后 -en。无冠词 → 形容词充当定冠词词尾(阳/中属格为 -en)。通过常见句子练习:Der große Hund spielt im Garten. Ein alter Mann liest eine interessante Zeitung。

6. Prepositions and Their Cases | 介词及其支配的格

Prepositions in German govern specific cases. Some are always followed by accusative: durch, für, gegen, ohne, um. Some always dative: aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu. A special group called two-way prepositions (Wechselpräpositionen) take accusative when movement is involved (destination) and dative when describing a stationary location: an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen.

德语介词支配特定的格。有些总是要求宾格:durch, für, gegen, ohne, um。有些总是要求与格:aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu。有一组特殊介词称为双格介词,当涉及移动(目的地)时用宾格,描述静止位置时用与格:an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen。

Examples: Ich gehe in die Stadt (accusative, movement into). Ich bin in der Stadt (dative, location within). The dative preposition zu is used for going to a person or specific named place with article: Ich gehe zum Arzt, zur Schule. Nach is used with most city and country names without article: nach Berlin, nach Deutschland – but in die Schweiz (accusative because countries with articles need the case governed by the preposition when movement is involved).

例如:Ich gehe in die Stadt(宾格,移动进入)。Ich bin in der Stadt(与格,在城市里)。与格介词 zu 用于前往某人或带冠词的具体地点:Ich gehe zum Arzt, zur Schule。Nach 用于大多数不带冠词的城市和国家名:nach Berlin, nach Deutschland——但 in die Schweiz(宾格,因带冠词的国家表达移动时需用相应格)。

Pronominal adverbs like darauf, damit, davon are formed by da(r)- + preposition and replace inanimate noun objects. For people, preposition + pronoun is used. This is a high-level skill that impresses examiners: Ich freue mich darauf (I’m looking forward to it).

代副词如 darauf, damit, davon 由 da(r)- + 介词构成,替代指物的名词宾语。指人时,用介词 + 代词。这是能打动考官的高阶技能:Ich freue mich darauf(我期盼那件事)。

7. Word Order and Subordinate Clauses | 语序与从句

German word order follows strict rules. In main clauses the verb is always the second idea (not necessarily the second word). The subject can be in position one or three: Heute Abend gehe ich ins Kino. After a subordinating conjunction (weil, dass, obwohl, wenn, als, damit, nachdem), the verb moves to the end of the clause: Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich müde bin.

德语语序遵循严格规则。在主句中动词总是第二要素(不一定是第二个词)。主语可以处于第一或第三位置:Heute Abend gehe ich ins Kino。在从属连词(weil, dass, obwohl, wenn, als, damit, nachdem)后,动词移至从句句末:Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich müde bin。

The ‘verb kicker’ conjunctions (aber, denn, und, sondern, oder) do not change word order; they just connect two main clauses. When a subordinate clause comes first, the main clause begins with the verb: Obwohl es regnet, gehen wir spazieren.

“不改变语序”的连词(aber, denn, und, sondern, oder)只连接两个主句,并不改变语序。当从句位于句首时,主句以动词开头:Obwohl es regnet, gehen wir spazieren。

In relative clauses, the relative pronoun (der, die, das, etc.) introduces the clause and the verb goes to the end. The case of the relative pronoun matches its function in the clause: Das ist der Junge, den ich gestern gesehen habe (accusative masculine). Mastering verb-last word order is a hallmark of a grade 7-9 candidate.

在关系从句中,关系代词(der, die, das 等)引导从句,动词置于句末。关系代词的格与其在从句中的功能一致:Das ist der Junge, den ich gestern gesehen habe(阳性宾格)。掌握动词后置语序是取得 7-9 分高分段考生的标志。

8. Modal Verbs and Their Uses | 情态动词及其用法

The six modal verbs in German are: dürfen (to be allowed to), können (can, to be able to), mögen (to like), müssen (must, to have to), sollen (should, ought to), wollen (to want to). They express ability, permission, obligation, desire and likelihood. In the present tense, modals have irregular singular forms: ich kann, du kannst, er kann; wir können, ihr könnt, sie können.

德语有六个情态动词:dürfen(被允许)、können(能够)、mögen(喜欢)、müssen(必须)、sollen(应该)、wollen(想要)。它们表达能力、许可、义务、愿望和可能性。现在时中情态动词有不规则单数形式:ich kann, du kannst, er kann; wir können, ihr könnt, sie können。

When a modal is used, the main verb goes to the end in the infinitive: Ich will morgen ins Schwimmbad gehen. In the perfect tense, when a modal is used with a dependent infinitive, the double infinitive construction is required: Ich habe gehen wollen (not gewollt). This is a complex structure that adds sophistication to writing.

当使用情态动词时,主要动词以原形置于句末:Ich will morgen ins Schwimmbad gehen。在完成时中,情态动词与从属不定式连用时,需用双不定式结构:Ich habe gehen wollen(而不是 gewollt)。这是一个复杂结构,能为写作增色。

Remember that ‘möchten’ is the subjunctive form of mögen and means ‘would like’. It is more polite: Ich möchte einen Kaffee, bitte. Sollen can express moral obligation or hearsay: Du sollst deine Hausaufgaben machen. Er soll krank sein (he is said to be ill).

记住 ‘möchten’ 是 mögen 的虚拟式形式,表示“想要”,更礼貌:Ich möchte einen Kaffee, bitte。sollen 可表达道义责任或传闻:Du sollst deine Hausaufgaben machen。Er soll krank sein(据说他病了)。

9. Reflexive Verbs and Pronouns | 反身动词与代词

Reflexive verbs are used when the subject and object are the same person, for example sich waschen (to wash oneself), sich freuen (to be pleased). The reflexive pronoun changes according to the subject: mich (ich), dich (du), sich (er/sie/es), uns (wir), euch (ihr), sich (sie/Sie). The reflexive pronoun is in the accusative unless a direct object is also present, in which case it becomes dative: Ich wasche mir die Hände.

反身动词用于主语和宾语为同一人的情况,例如 sich waschen(洗澡)、sich freuen(感到高兴)。反身代词根据主语变化:mich(ich)、dich(du)、sich(er/sie/es)、uns(wir)、euch(ihr)、sich(sie/Sie)。反身代词一般为宾格,除非句子中已有直接宾语,此时反身代词变为与格:Ich wasche mir die Hände。

Common reflexive verbs for GCSE topics: sich interessieren für (to be interested in), sich ärgern über (to be annoyed about), sich kämmen (to comb one’s hair), sich beeilen (to hurry up). Word order: Ich freue mich auf das Wochenende. In perfect tense: Ich habe mich gefreut. The reflexive pronoun remains close to the verb.

GCSE 话题中常见的反身动词:sich interessieren für(对……感兴趣)、sich ärgern über(对……生气)、sich kämmen(梳头)、sich beeilen(赶快)。语序:Ich freue mich auf das Wochenende。完成时:Ich habe mich gefreut。反身代词紧靠动词。

10. Comparatives and Superlatives | 比较级与最高级

To form comparatives in German, add -er to the adjective plus any umlaut on stem vowels a, o, u where possible: klein → kleiner, groß → größer, alt → älter. The superlative is formed by adding -(e)st and the appropriate adjective ending. The phrase ‘am + adjective + sten’ is used adverbially: am schnellsten, am liebsten.

不规则比较级:gut → besser → am besten;viel → mehr → am meisten;gern → lieber → am liebsten。用“als”进行比较:Ich bin größer als mein Bruder。用“so … wie”表示同级比较:Er ist so alt wie ich。

When a superlative adjective is used in front of a noun, it takes an ending according to the article: das schnellste Auto, der beste Schüler. This is a useful structure for describing in the photo card or general conversation.

当最高级形容词用于名词前时,根据冠词加词尾:das schnellste Auto, der beste Schüler。这一结构在照片卡描述或自由对话中十分有用。

11. Key Vocabulary Themes for AQA | AQA 核心主题词汇

The AQA specification is built around three themes: Theme 1 – Identity and Culture (family, technology, free time, customs and festivals); Theme 2 – Local, National, International and Global Areas of Interest (home, town, social issues, environment, travel); Theme 3 – Current and Future Study and Employment (school life, jobs, career choices). High-frequency vocabulary for each area must be actively used.

AQA 考纲围绕三大主题构建:主题一——身份与文化(家庭、科技、休闲、风俗与节日);主题二——地方、国家、国际与全球兴趣领域(家居、城镇、社会问题、环境、旅行);主题三——当前与未来的学习及就业(学校生活、工作、职业选择)。你需主动运用各领域的高频词汇。

For Theme 1, focus on adjectives describing personality and appearance (nett, intelligent, sportlich, dunkelhaarig), daily routine (jeden Tag, morgens), types of media and leisure (fernsehen, im Internet surfen, lesen). Festivals: Weihnachten, Oktoberfest, Karneval. Connectives like ‘außerdem’, ‘jedoch’, ‘weil’ lift your speaking and writing quality.

对于主题一,重点掌握描述性格和外貌的形容词(nett, intelligent, sportlich, dunkelhaarig)、日常生活(jeden Tag, morgens)、媒体与休闲类型(fernsehen, im Internet surfen, lesen)。节日:Weihnachten, Oktoberfest, Karneval。使用连接词如“außerdem”、“jedoch”、“weil”可提升口语和写作质量。

Theme 2 requires vocabulary for describing house and rooms (das Wohnzimmer, der Balkon, die Küche), places in town (der Bahnhof, das Rathaus), transport (mit dem Auto, die U-Bahn) and environmental actions (Energie sparen, Müll trennen). Expressing opinions: Ich finde, dass … meiner Meinung nach … and justifying them.

主题二需要描述房屋和房间的词汇(das Wohnzimmer, der Balkon, die Küche)、城镇地点(der Bahnhof, das Rathaus)、交通方式(mit dem Auto, die U-Bahn)以及环保行动(Energie sparen, Müll trennen)。表达看法:Ich finde, dass … meiner Meinung nach … 并加以论证。

Theme 3 includes subjects (die Naturwissenschaften, die Sprachen), school facilities (die Turnhalle, die Bibliothek), future plans (Ich möchte studieren / eine Ausbildung machen) and part-time jobs (Zeitungen austragen). Ensure you can also use expressions of time, frequency and opinion across all themes.

主题三包括科目(die Naturwissenschaften, die Sprachen)、学校设施(die Turnhalle, die Bibliothek)、未来计划(Ich möchte studieren / eine Ausbildung machen)及兼职工作(Zeitungen austragen)。确保你能在所有主题中灵活使用时间、频率和观点表达。

12. Exam Tips for Speaking and Writing | 口语与写作考试技巧

The AQA German assessment includes listening, reading, speaking and writing. For the speaking test, prepare your general conversation answers thoroughly but avoid memorising rigid scripts. Use a variety of tenses, opinions and justifications. In the role-play, listen carefully and respond appropriately; don’t be afraid to ask for repetition: ‘Können Sie das bitte wiederholen?’

AQA 德语评估包括听力、阅读、口语和写作。口语考试中,充分准备自由对话的回答,但避免死记硬背脚本。使用多种时态、观点和论证。角色扮演中,仔细听并恰当回应;不怕请求重复:“Können Sie das bitte wiederholen?”

For the writing paper, plan your extended response. The 90-word and 150-word tasks require you to demonstrate range: past, present and future tenses, opinions with weil/obwohl, complex word order, relative clauses, and a variety of vocabulary. Stick to the bullet points and aim for accurate spelling and punctuation. Always leave time to check for common errors (adjective endings, verb position, case).

写作卷中,提前规划你的扩展回答。90 词和 150 词任务需要你展示广度:过去、现在和将来时态,带 weil/obwohl 的观点,复杂语序,关系从句,以及丰富的词汇。紧扣要点,力求拼写和标点准确。务必留出时间检查常见错误(形容词词尾、动词位置、格)。

In reading and listening, use strategies such as predicting content, ignoring unknown words that are not crucial, and focusing on cognates. For translation tasks, pay attention to word order differences between German and English. Practice past papers to become familiar with the format and timing.

在阅读和听力中,使用预测内容、忽略不重要的生词、关注同源词等策略。翻译题注意德英双语序差异。通过做历年真题熟悉题型和时间安排。

Finally, build your general knowledge of German-speaking countries, as cultural awareness can help in the reading and listening exams. Revise little and often, and keep practicing speaking out loud.

最后,扩充你对德语国家的一般知识,文化意识有助于阅读和听力考试。少食多餐地复习,并持续大声练习口语。
