📚 Year 11 Edexcel German: Speaking Assessment Key Points | Year 11 Edexcel 德语:口语考试要点

The Edexcel GCSE German speaking exam is a practical assessment that tests your ability to communicate spontaneously, respond to unprepared questions and speak with reasonable fluency and accuracy. It is worth 25% of the total GCSE and is divided into three distinct tasks. Understanding what examiners are looking for and how to prepare effectively will give you the best chance of achieving a high mark.

Edexcel GCSE 德语口语考试是一项实践性评估,考查你自发交流、回答未准备问题以及用合理流利度和准确性进行表达的能力。它占总成绩的 25%,分为三个特定的任务。了解考官的要求以及如何有效备考,将帮助你最大机会获得高分。

1. Exam Structure and Timing | 考试结构与时间安排

The speaking exam lasts between 7 and 12 minutes, depending on the tier. Foundation tier candidates have 7–9 minutes, while Higher tier candidates have 10–12 minutes. There are three parts: a role-play (approx. 1–1.5 minutes), a photo card task (approx. 2–3 minutes) and a general conversation (3–5 minutes for Foundation, 5–7 minutes for Higher). You will have 12 minutes of supervised preparation time just before the exam, during which you can make notes on your stimulus cards.

口语考试时长根据级别为 7 到 12 分钟。基础级考生为 7–9 分钟,高级级考生为 10–12 分钟。考试分为三个部分:角色扮演(约 1–1.5 分钟)、图片卡任务(约 2–3 分钟)和一般对话(基础级 3–5 分钟,高级级 5–7 分钟)。考试前你有 12 分钟受监督的准备时间,可以在刺激卡上做笔记。

During the preparation time, you are not allowed to use dictionaries or electronic devices. Use this time wisely to read the role-play scenario, prepare questions you need to ask, and think about what you will say for the photo card. On the photo card, you must respond to three printed questions and one unexpected question from the examiner.

在准备时间内,不允许使用字典或电子设备。合理利用这段时间阅读角色扮演情景,准备你需要提出的问题,并思考图片卡的内容。在图片卡上,你必须回答三个印好的问题以及考官的一个未预见的提问。

2. Role-play: Preparation and Response | 角色扮演:准备与应答

In the role-play, you will be given a scenario, for example asking for directions, buying a ticket or ordering food. The card will tell you the situation and list several bullet points in English of what you need to communicate. Some of those bullet points will require you to ask a question, indicated by a ‘?’. Make sure you note which ones are questions and plan a question word like ‘Wie viel…?’, ‘Um wie viel Uhr…?’ or ‘Kann ich…?’ during your preparation time.

在角色扮演中,你会拿到一个情景,例如问路、买票或点餐。卡片会说明情境,并用英文列出你需要完成的若干要点。有些要点要求你提问,会用“?”表示。确保你记下哪些是需要提问的,并在准备时间里规划好疑问词,如“Wie viel…?”、“Um wie viel Uhr…?”或“Kann ich…?”。

Examiners will assess how well you complete each bullet point, so you must not skip any. Give a full, clear response for each task, even if it is just a short sentence. Memorise common transactional phrases such as ‘Ich möchte…’, ‘Das kostet…’ and ‘Es tut mir leid, aber…’ so they come naturally. Practise switching between formal ‘Sie’ and informal ‘du’ as indicated by the scenario.

考官会评估你完成每个要点的程度,因此不能跳过任何一个。即使只是简短的回答,也要对每个任务给出完整、清晰的回应。熟记常用的交易用语,如“Ich möchte…”、“Das kostet…”和“Es tut mir leid, aber…”,以便自然脱口而出。根据情景提示,练习在正式的“Sie”和非正式的“du”之间切换。

3. Photo Card Task: Describe and Discuss | 图片卡任务:描述与讨论

You will receive a photo with three printed questions, all in German. The first question is always about describing what is on the photo. You should describe using phrases like ‘Auf dem Foto kann man … sehen’, ‘Im Vordergrund gibt es…’ and ‘Es sieht so aus, als ob…’. Do not just list objects; comment on the atmosphere, emotions and possible situations.

你会拿到一张照片,附有三个用德语书写的问题。第一个问题总是关于描述照片内容。你应该使用诸如“Auf dem Foto kann man … sehen”、“Im Vordergrund gibt es…”和“Es sieht so aus, als ob…”等短语。不要只是罗列物品;要评论气氛、情绪和可能的情境。

After the three prepared questions, the examiner will ask one follow-up question that is not printed on the card. This tests your ability to respond spontaneously. You can prepare by thinking about related topics when you see the photo. For example, if the photo shows a family at a beach, the unexpected question might be about your own holiday preferences. Always extend your answers with an opinion or a reason.

在三个准备好的问题之后,考官会问一个卡片上没有印出的后续问题。这考查你的即席回应能力。你可以在看照片时思考相关话题,从而做好准备。例如,如果照片展示一家人在海滩,未预见的提问可能与你的度假偏好有关。始终用观点或理由来扩展你的回答。

4. General Conversation: Themes and Sub-topics | 一般对话:主题与子话题

The general conversation will be based on one theme chosen by you and one theme chosen by the examiner. The Edexcel themes are: Identity and culture; Local area, holiday and travel; School; Future aspirations, study and work; and International and global dimension. You must prepare two themes in depth, because you do not know which one the examiner will pick.

一般对话将基于一个你选择的主题和一个考官选择的主题。Edexcel 的主题包括:身份与文化;当地、度假与旅行;学校;未来抱负、学习与工作;以及国际与全球维度。你必须深入准备两个主题,因为你不知道考官会选择哪一个。

The conversation must be a natural dialogue, not a monologue. Listen carefully to the questions and answer them fully. You are allowed to ask the examiner to repeat or rephrase a question by saying ‘Können Sie das bitte wiederholen?’ or ‘Könnten Sie das anders formulieren?’. This is not penalised and shows you are a resourceful communicator.

对话必须是自然的交流,而不是独白。仔细听问题并充分回答。你可以请求考官重复或换种说法,比如“Können Sie das bitte wiederholen?”或“Könnten Sie das anders formulieren?”。这不会被扣分,反而表明你是机智的交流者。

5. Demonstrate Grammar Accuracy | 展示语法准确性

To reach the higher mark bands, you need to show a range of grammatical structures that are generally accurate. The assessment criteria reward the use of complex sentences with subordinate clauses, correct word order (especially verb-second and verb-final rules) and accurate case endings. Plan to use at least two tenses: present and perfect or imperfect, and ideally a future or conditional.

要获得较高分数段,你需要展示一系列基本准确、多样的语法结构。评分标准奖励使用带从句的复合句、正确的语序(尤其是动词二位和动词末尾规则)及准确的格词尾。计划使用至少两种时态:现在时和完成时或过去时,最好再使用将来时或条件式。

A common mistake is to overcomplicate sentences and end up with incorrect grammar. It is better to use a shorter, fully correct sentence than a long, confused one. Revise key grammar points: adjective endings, prepositions with the dative and accusative, modal verbs and the perfect tense formation with ‘haben’ and ‘sein’.

一个常见错误是过度复杂化句子,结果语法错误。使用简短、完全正确的句子比冗长混乱的句子更好。复习关键语法点:形容词词尾、支配第三格和第四格的介词、情态动词以及用“haben”和“sein”构成的完成时。

6. Express and Justify Opinions | 表达观点并给出理由

Examiners want to hear your opinions, not just facts. Use a variety of opinion phrases such as ‘Meiner Meinung nach…’, ‘Ich denke, dass…’, ‘Ich finde es…’ and ‘Es gefällt mir, weil…’. Then justify with ‘weil’ or ‘da’ clauses where the verb goes to the end. For higher marks, use more sophisticated connectives like ‘obwohl’ (although) or ‘deshalb’ (therefore).

考官希望听到你的观点,而不仅仅是事实。使用多种观点表达,如“Meiner Meinung nach…”、“Ich denke, dass…”、“Ich finde es…”和“Es gefällt mir, weil…”。然后用“weil”或“da”从句给出理由,动词移至句末。为获得更高分数,使用更复杂的连接词,如“obwohl”(尽管)或“deshalb”(因此)。

You are not expected to have a perfect moral stance; just justify what you say. For instance, if asked about social media, you could say ‘Ich finde soziale Medien nützlich, weil man mit Freunden in Kontakt bleiben kann, obwohl es manchmal zu viel Zeit kostet.’ Practise building opinions with two clauses to show sophistication.

并不要求你持有完美的道德立场;只需为你所说的话提供理由。例如,如果被问及社交媒体,你可以说“Ich finde soziale Medien nützlich, weil man mit Freunden in Kontakt bleiben kann, obwohl es manchmal zu viel Zeit kostet.”。练习使用两个从句来表达观点,以展示复杂度。

7. Use a Variety of Tenses | 使用多种时态

A straightforward way to boost your mark is to show you can operate in past, present and future time frames. The present tense will dominate naturally, but you should be ready to talk about a past holiday (‘Letzten Sommer bin ich nach Spanien geflogen’) or a future plan (‘Nächstes Jahr werde ich mein Abitur machen’). Even a single correct sentence in a less common tense makes an impression.

提高分数的一个直接方法是展示你能运用过去、现在和将来的时间框架。现在时会自然占主导,但你应该准备好谈论过去的假期(“Letzten Sommer bin ich nach Spanien geflogen”)或将来的计划(“Nächstes Jahr werde ich mein Abitur machen”)。即使只是一个正确的不常用时态句子,也能留下印象。

Perfect tense is essential for the past, but remember the auxiliary verb (‘haben’/’sein’) and the past participle. For the future, ‘werden’ + infinitive is reliable; you can also use the present tense with a future time phrase like ‘Morgen gehe ich ins Kino’. Conditional forms such as ‘Ich würde gern…’ show aspirational thinking.

完成时对于表达过去至关重要,但要记住助动词(“haben”/“sein”)和过去分词。对于将来时,“werden”加动词不定式非常可靠;你也可以用现在时加上表将来的时间状语,如“Morgen gehe ich ins Kino”。条件式如“Ich würde gern…”能体现愿望和设想。

8. Pronunciation and Fluency | 发音与流利度

Pronunciation is assessed as part of the overall communication mark. You do not need a native accent, but you must be clear and consistent. Pay special attention to the German ‘ch’ sounds (as in ‘ich’ and ‘Buch’), the ‘ü’ and ‘ö’ vowels, and the ‘z’ pronounced as ‘ts’. Listening to authentic German recordings and repeating aloud will help build muscle memory.

发音作为整体交流评分的一部分被评估。你不需要母语口音,但必须清晰、一致。特别注意德语“ch”的发音(如“ich”和“Buch”)、元音“ü”和“ö”,以及发成“ts”的“z”。聆听地道的德语录音并大声跟读,有助于形成肌肉记忆。

Fluency does not mean speaking extremely fast; it means linking ideas together without long hesitations. Use filler phrases like ‘also’, ‘na ja’, ‘eigentlich’ and ‘das ist eine gute Frage’ to buy thinking time without breaking the flow. Practise speaking on a topic for one minute without stopping to become more comfortable with natural pauses.

流利度不意味着说得极快,而是指能连贯表达想法,没有长时间停顿。使用填充语如“also”、“na ja”、“eigentlich”和“das ist eine gute Frage”来赢得思考时间而不中断语流。练习就一个话题不间断表述一分钟,以更适应自然的停顿。

9. Examiner Interaction: Asking Questions | 考官互动:主动提问

In both the role-play and the general conversation, you may be required to ask questions. In the role-play, this is compulsory for the ‘?’ bullet points. In the general conversation, asking a relevant question spontaneously will impress the examiner and create a genuine dialogue. Learn simple question forms such as ‘Was machst du gern in deiner Freizeit?’ or ‘Wie finden Sie diese Situation?’.

在角色扮演和一般对话中,你都可能被要求提问。在角色扮演中,对带有“?”的要点必须提问。在一般对话中,自发地提出一个相关问题会让考官印象深刻,并形成真正对话。学习简单的提问句式,如“Was machst du gern in deiner Freizeit?”或“Wie finden Sie diese Situation?”。

Inversion is the most common way to form a question: put the verb before the subject, e.g. ‘Hast du Geschwister?’. You can also use question words (W-Fragen) like ‘wann’, ‘warum’, ‘wo’ and ‘wer’. Practise forming questions from statements quickly, so it becomes automatic.

倒装是最常见的提问方式:将动词置于主语之前,如“Hast du Geschwister?”。你也可以使用疑问词(W-Fragen),如“wann”、“warum”、“wo”和“wer”。练习从陈述句快速构造疑问句,使之成为本能。

10. Top Tips for Last-Minute Revision | 考前冲刺复习要点

In the final days before the exam, focus on speaking aloud rather than silent reading. Record yourself answering typical questions and listen for errors or pronunciation issues. Create a one-page mind map for each of the two themes you will present, including key vocabulary, opinions and a past/future example. Sleep well the night before and have a small, non-messy breakfast.

考前几天,重点应放在大声说而不是默读上。录下自己回答典型问题的声音,听辨错误或发音问题。为你将展示的两个主题各制作一幅一页的思维导图,包含关键词汇、观点和一个过去/将来时例句。考前夜保证良好睡眠,吃一顿简便的早餐。

Arrive early but do not cram vocabulary outside the exam room; it can increase anxiety. Use the 12-minute preparation time strategically: write brief prompts, not full sentences. Trust that the examiner wants you to do well and will guide the conversation if needed. Finally, smile and be polite – a positive impression supports the communication marks.

提前到达,但不要在考场外死记词汇;这可能加重焦虑。策略性地利用 12 分钟准备时间:写下简短提示,而非完整句子。相信考官希望你表现出色,并在需要时引导对话。最后,微笑并保持礼貌——积极的印象有助于沟通分数。
