The final paper consists of three sections, one for each content unit. Each section is worth 20 marks, bringing the total to 60. Within each section, questions are structured with a mix of short-response questions (1–4 marks) testing factual recall and basic interpretation, and extended-response questions (6–8 marks) requiring developed explanation, critical analysis, and case-study detail. Map and graph interpretation questions appear in every section. Students are advised to allocate roughly 45 minutes per section and to read every question carefully, as marks are awarded for command words: ‘describe’ requires straightforward factual statements, ‘explain’ demands causes and processes, and ‘evaluate’ or ‘discuss’ expects balanced arguments with a supported judgement.
