1. Noun Gender & Plural Formation Rules | 名词性属和复数构成规则
Every German noun has a grammatical gender: masculine, feminine, or neuter. While there is no absolute logical rule, endings often signal gender. Memorising the noun with its definite article is the first formula for success.
每个德语名词都有语法性别:阳性、阴性或中性。虽然没有绝对的逻辑规则,但词尾常常暗示性别。将名词与其定冠词一起记忆是成功的第一条公式。
- Masculine (der): nouns ending in -er, -el, -en, -ig, -ling, -or, -ismus (der Lehrer, der Schlüssel, der Honig, der Kapitalismus)
- Feminine (die): nouns ending in -ung, -heit, -keit, -schaft, -tion, -tät, -ie, -e (many) (die Zeitung, die Freiheit, die Freundschaft, die Nation, die Melodie, die Lampe)
- Neuter (das): nouns ending in -chen, -lein, -ment, -um, -tum, and ge-…-e collectives (das Mädchen, das Instrument, das Museum, das Gebäude)
Plural formation can be summarised with five main patterns. The formula includes whether an umlaut is added and which ending is used.
复数构成可以总结为五种主要模式。公式包括是否添加变音符以及使用哪种词尾。
| Pattern | Singular → Plural | Examples |
|---|---|---|
These plural rules act as ‘theorems’: given the noun ending and gender, you can predict the plural with high accuracy. Always learn the plural together with the gender.
这些复数规则就像“定理”一样:根据名词词尾和性属,你可以高精度地预测其复数形式。请始终将复数与性别一同学习。
2. Definite & Indefinite Article Declension Formulas | 定冠词与不定冠词变格公式
Articles change form depending on case and gender. The definite article (the) follows a consistent pattern that resembles the personal pronouns. View it as a set of foundational ‘declension formulas’ you must master.
冠词根据格和性别变化形式。定冠词(the)遵循与部分人称代词相似的一致模式。将其视为你必须掌握的一套基础“变格公式”。
Definite article formula: der, die, das, die (nominative); den, die, das, die (accusative); dem, der, dem, den (dative); des, der, des, der (genitive).
定冠词公式:der、die、das、die(一格);den、die、das、die(四格);dem、der、dem、den(三格);des、der、des、der(二格)。
The indefinite article (a/an) uses the same endings attached to ‘ein-‘, with no ending in masculine nominative and neuter nominative/accusative. Negative article ‘kein-‘ and possessive pronouns (mein, dein, sein, etc.) follow the same declension.
不定冠词(a/an)使用附加在“ein-”上的相同词尾,但阳性一格和中性一格/四格为零词尾。否定冠词“kein-”和物主代词(mein、dein、sein 等)遵循相同的变格。
ein → (Nom) ein, eine, ein; (Acc) einen, eine, ein; (Dat) einem, einer, einem; (Gen) eines, einer, eines
Use these tables as your constant reference until the endings become automatic. The key pattern is that dative always adds -m or -r and accusative adds -n only to masculine.
持续使用这些表格作为参考,直到词尾变得自动。关键模式是三格总是加 -m 或 -r,四格只给阳性加 -n。
3. Adjective Endings: The Big Table | 形容词词尾:总表
Adjective declension may feel daunting, but it follows a simple ‘Algorithm of Endings’: the adjective takes an ending that clarifies the gender/case if the determiner does not already provide this information clearly. We present the formula table for after definite article, after indefinite article, and with no article.
形容词变格可能令人生畏,但它遵循一个简单的“词尾算法”:如果限定词未能清楚地提供性/格信息,形容词就需加上能澄清性/格的词尾。我们给出定冠词后、不定冠词后以及无冠词情况下的公式表格。
After der/die/das (weak declension): the adjective takes only -e or -en. Nominative singular all genders: -e; all other singular and all plural: -en.
在 der/die/das 后(弱变化):形容词仅带 -e 或 -en。单数一格所有性:-e;其他所有单数以及所有复数:-en。
Definite article + adjective: -e (Nom Sg), -en (all other cases)
After ein/eine/ein (mixed declension): when the ein- word has no ending (masculine nominative, neuter nominative/accusative), the adjective takes the strong ending; otherwise it takes -en.
在 ein/eine/ein 后(混合变化):当 ein- 词无词尾时(阳性一格、中性一格/四格),形容词带强变化词尾;否则带 -en。
Indefinite article + adjective: strong ending on adjective when ein- has no signal; otherwise -en
No article (strong declension): the adjective fully shows the gender/case, using almost the same endings as the definite article (except genitive masculine/neuter becomes -en instead of -es).
无冠词(强变化):形容词完全显示性/格,几乎使用与定冠词相同的词尾(例外:二格阳性/中性变为 -en 而非 -es)。
Zero article + adjective: -er, -e, -es (Nom); -en, -e, -es (Acc); -em, -er, -em (Dat)
Practice by applying the formula to phrases like ‘der gute Wein’, ‘ein gutes Buch’, ‘frische Milch’. Soon it will become mechanical.
通过将公式应用于像“der gute Wein”、“ein gutes Buch”、“frische Milch”这样的短语来练习。很快它就会变得机械化。
4. Personal Pronouns in All Cases | 人称代词各格形式
Pronouns are the unsung heroes of fluent sentence building. The ‘Theorem of Pronoun Substitution’ states that once you know the nominative, you can derive the other cases by learning a fixed set of stem changes.
代词是构建流畅句子的无名英雄。“代词替代定理”指出,一旦你掌握了一格,就能通过学习一套固定的词干变化推导出其他格。
ich → mich/mir; du → dich/dir; er → ihn/ihm; sie → sie/ihr; es → es/ihm; wir → uns; ihr → euch; sie/Sie → sie/Ihnen
These forms are essential after prepositions and as direct/indirect objects. The reflexive pronoun ‘sich’ follows the same pattern (mich/dich/sich/uns/euch/sich), but note that for 3rd person it is ‘sich’ in both accusative and dative.
这些形式在介词后以及作为直接/间接宾语时至关重要。反身代词“sich”遵循相同模式(mich/dich/sich/uns/euch/sich),但注意第三人称四格和三格均为“sich”。
For IGCSE, ensure you can correctly place pronouns in main and subordinate clauses, remembering that pronouns tend to come as early as possible after the verb.
对于 IGCSE,要确保能在主句和从句中正确放置代词,记住代词往往尽早出现在动词之后。
5. Verb Conjugation: Present Tense Patterns | 动词变位:现在时公式
Regular present tense conjugation follows the ‘Stem + Ending’ formula. The infinitive stem is obtained by removing -en or simply -n. The set of endings is almost invariable.
规则现在时变位遵循“词干 + 词尾”公式。去掉 -en 或 -n 即得不定式词干。词尾集合几乎是不变的。
Present tense endings: -e, -st, -t, -en, -t, -en (ich, du, er/sie/es, wir, ihr, sie/Sie)
With the stem ‘spiel-‘ you get: ich spiele, du spielst, er spielt, wir spielen, ihr spielt, sie spielen. For stems ending in -d, -t, or consonant cluster + m/n, add an -e- before the -st and -t endings for pronunciation: du arbeitest, er arbeitet.
以词干“spiel-”为例得到:ich spiele、du spielst、er spielt、wir spielen、ihr spielt、sie spielen。对于以 -d、-t 或辅音簇 + m/n 结尾的词干,在 -st 和 -t 词尾前添加 -e- 以便发音:du arbeitest、er arbeitet。
Irregular verbs like ‘sein’ and ‘haben’ are fundamental ‘axioms’ that must be memorised: sein → ich bin, du bist, er ist, wir sind, ihr seid, sie sind; haben → ich habe, du hast, er hat, wir haben, ihr habt, sie haben.
像“sein”和“haben”这样的不规则动词是必须记住的基础“公理”:sein → ich bin、du bist、er ist、wir sind、ihr seid、sie sind;haben → ich habe、du hast、er hat、wir haben、ihr habt、sie haben。
6. Strong Verb Vowel Change ‘Theorems’ | 强变化动词元音变换“定理”
Many common verbs exhibit a stem vowel change in the du and er/sie/es forms. These can be grouped into predictable patterns. Think of them as ‘vowel shift theorems’.
许多常用动词在 du 和 er/sie/es 形式中出现词干元音变化。这些可以归纳为可预测的模式。把它们视为“元音变换定理”。
a → ä: fahren → du fährst, er fährt; schlafen → du schläfst, er schläft; waschen → du wäschst, er wäscht.
a → ä 定理:fahren → du fährst, er fährt;schlafen → du schläfst, er schläft;waschen → du wäschst, er wäscht。
e → i (short): sprechen → du sprichst, er spricht; essen → du isst, er isst; geben → du gibst, er gibt; nehmen → du nimmst, er nimmt (note consonant doubling).
e → i(短音): sprechen → du sprichst, er spricht;essen → du isst, er isst;geben → du gibst, er gibt;nehmen → du nimmst, er nimmt(注意辅音双写)。
e → ie (long): sehen → du siehst, er sieht; lesen → du liest, er liest; empfehlen → du empfiehlst, er empfiehlt.
e → ie(长音): sehen → du siehst, er sieht;lesen → du liest, er liest;empfehlen → du empfiehlst, er empfiehlt。
There is also the ‘au → äu’ theorem for verbs like laufen (du läufst) and the ‘o → ö’ for stoßen (du stößt). Applying these theorems dramatically reduces memorisation.
还有“au → äu”定理,如 laufen(du läufst)以及“o → ö”定理,如 stoßen(du stößt)。应用这些定理可大幅减少记忆负担。
7. Perfect Tense Formation Formula | 完成时构成公式
The spoken past tense in German is the Perfekt. Its universal formula is: auxiliary verb (haben/sein) in present tense + past participle. Mastering this is vital for IGCSE speaking and writing.
德语口语中的过去时是完成时。其通用公式为:助动词(haben/sein)现在时变位 + 过去分词。掌握它对 IGCSE 口语和写作至关重要。
Perfekt = haben/sein (conjugated) + Partizip II
Regular weak verbs form the past participle with ge + stem + t: spielen → gespielt; arbeiten → gearbeitet (no extra ge- if verb ends in -ieren: studieren → studiert). Strong verbs use ge + stem (with vowel change) + en: fahren → gefahren; schreiben → geschrieben; essen → gegessen.
规则弱变化动词的过去分词由 ge + 词干 + t 构成:spielen → gespielt;arbeiten → gearbeitet(以 -ieren 结尾的动词不加 ge-:studieren → studiert)。强变化动词使用 ge + 词干(元音变化)+ en:fahren → gefahren;schreiben → geschrieben;essen → gegessen。
The choice between ‘haben’ and ‘sein’ follows a movement/state-change theorem: use ‘sein’ for verbs indicating movement from A to B or change of state (gehen, kommen, fahren, aufwachen, sterben). The vast majority take ‘haben’.
“haben”和“sein”之间的选择遵循位移/状态变化定理:对于表示从 A 到 B 的移动或状态变化的动词使用“sein”(gehen、kommen、fahren、aufwachen、sterben)。绝大多数动词用“haben”。
8. Modal Verbs: Framed Sentence Structure | 情态动词:框型结构
Modal verbs (dürfen, können, mögen, müssen, sollen, wollen) operate with a ‘Satzklammer’ (sentence bracket). The conjugated modal occupies the second position, and the infinitive goes to the end. This is a core IGCSE word order formula.
情态动词(dürfen、können、mögen、müssen、sollen、wollen)与“框型结构”一起运作。变位情态动词占据第二位,不定式移至句末。这是 IGCSE 核心语序公式。
Subject + modal (V2) + … + infinitive at end.
Example: ‘Ich will ins Kino gehen.’ The modal ‘will’ is in position two, ‘gehen’ closes the bracket. Modal verbs also have their own present-tense irregularities: the ich and er forms drop the ending (ich kann, er muss) and vowel changes occur (e → a for können: du kannst; mögen: mag; dürfen: darf).
例句:“Ich will ins Kino gehen.”情态动词“will”在第二位,“gehen”关闭框架。情态动词本身也有现在时不规则变化:ich 和 er 形式省去词尾(ich kann、er muss),并发生元音变化(können 的 e → a:du kannst;mögen:mag;dürfen:darf)。
Remember that ‘möchten’ (subjunctive of mögen) is used as ‘would like’ and behaves like a normal modal with an infinitive: ‘Ich möchte ein Eis essen.’
记住,“möchten”(mögen 的虚拟式)用作“想要”,与普通情态动词一样搭配不定式:“Ich möchte ein Eis essen。”
9. Word Order: Main Clause & Subordinate Clause | 语序:主句与从句公式
German word order can be reduced to two golden rules. Main clause: the finite verb is always the second idea (not necessarily the second word). Subordinate clause: the finite verb goes to the very end.
德语的语序可以归纳为两条黄金法则。主句:定式动词始终是第二个意群(不一定是第二个单词)。从句:定式动词移至最末尾。
Main clause formula: Topic + Verb (finite) + Subject + …
Subordinate clause formula: Connector + Subject + … + Verb (finite).
In main clauses, if the subject is not the first element, it comes right after the verb: ‘Heute gehe ich ins Kino.’ Inversion is key. In subordinate clauses introduced by weil, dass, obwohl, wenn, als, etc., the verb is last: ‘Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich krank bin.’
在主句中,如果主语不是第一个成分,它紧接在动词后:“Heute gehe ich ins Kino。”倒装是关键。在由 weil、dass、obwohl、wenn、als 等引导的从句中,动词置于句末:“Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich krank bin。”
When there are two verbs (modal + infinitive, or perfect tense), the auxiliary/modal stands in V2, and the infinitive/participle is at the end in a main clause. In a subordinate clause, the conjugated verb goes to the end after the participle/infinitive: ‘…, weil er gestern ins Kino gegangen ist.’ This ‘double infinitive’ situation is tricky but follows the same theorem.
当有两个动词(情态动词+不定式,或完成时),主句中助动词/情态动词在 V2,不定式/分词在句末。在从句中,变位动词移至分词/不定式之后:“…, weil er gestern ins Kino gegangen ist。”这种“双不定式”情况较为棘手,但仍遵循相同定理。
10. Prepositions and Case Triggers | 介词及其支配格
Prepositions are powerful ‘case indicators’. They can be grouped by the case they always trigger, and those with dual governance depending on motion vs. location.
介词是强大的“格指示器”。可以按它们总是触发的格来分组,以及那些根据移动/位置而双重支配的介词。
Accusative-only prepositions (run to the accusative): durch, für, gegen, ohne, um, bis, entlang. Memory formula: dogfub (durch, ohne, gegen, für, um, bis) plus wider.
纯四格介词(跑向四格):durch、für、gegen、ohne、um、bis、entlang。记忆口诀:dogfub(durch、ohne、gegen、für、um、bis)再加 wider。
The theorem: if the verb expresses movement towards a destination (wohin?), use accusative; if it expresses a static location (wo?), use dative. Example: ‘Ich gehe in die Stadt’ (accusative) vs. ‘Ich bin in der Stadt’ (dative).
可两用介词(Wechselpräpositionen):an、auf、hinter、in、neben、über、unter、vor、zwischen。定理:如果动词表达朝目的地的移动(wohin?),用四格;如果表达静态地点(wo?),用三格。例:“Ich gehe in die Stadt”(四格)与“Ich bin in der Stadt”(三格)。
11. Imperative Mood Formulas | 命令式构成
The imperative is used for giving commands and instructions. The formula varies by formality and number.
命令式用于给出命令和指示。公式因正式程度和数而异。
du-formula: remove the -st ending and the pronoun. For strong verbs with vowel change e → i, keep the changed vowel but no ending. Stem + e is optional for regular verbs. E.g., ‘Komm!’ (kommen), ‘Arbeite!’ (arbeiten), ‘Gib!’ (geben), ‘Lies!’ (lesen).
du-公式:去掉 -st 词尾和代词。对于 e → i 的强变化动词,保留变化后的元音但不加词尾。规则动词可加 -e 可选。例:“Komm!”(kommen)、“Arbeite!”(arbeiten)、“Gib!”(geben)、“Lies!”(lesen)。
ihr-formula: use the present tense ihr form without the pronoun: ‘Kommt!’, ‘Gebt!’, ‘Lest!’.
ihr-公式:使用 ihr 现在的时形式,去掉代词:“Kommt!”、“Gebt!”、“Lest!”。
Sie-formula: infinitive + Sie, verb before pronoun: ‘Kommen Sie!’, ‘Lesen Sie!’, ‘Seien Sie ruhig!’ (for sein). This is the formal imperative.
Sie-公式:不定式 + Sie,动词在代词前:“Kommen Sie!”、“Lesen Sie!”、“Seien Sie ruhig!”(对于 sein)。这是正式的命令式。
The ‘wir’ imperative (Let’s) uses the infinitive + wir: ‘Gehen wir!’, ‘Spielen wir!’.
“wir”命令式(Let’s)使用不定式 + wir:“Gehen wir!”、“Spielen wir!”。
12. Subjunctive II (Konjunktiv II) for Conditional | 第二虚拟式条件句公式
The subjunctive II expresses hypothetical situations, polite requests, and wishes. The standard ‘Formula for würde + infinitive’ is the simplest construction and is widely accepted in IGCSE.
第二虚拟式表达假设情况、礼貌请求和愿望。标准的“würde + 不定式公式”是最简单的结构,在 IGCSE 中被广泛接受。
