1. Course Introduction and Aims | 课程介绍与目标

This summer bridging programme is built around the key skills you will develop throughout KS3 French. The aim is not to overwhelm you with grammar rules, but to give you everyday language tools and the courage to speak from day one. We will revisit vocabulary you may already know and layer on new structures so that by September, you feel ready to participate actively in class.

这个暑期衔接课程围绕你在 KS3 法语阶段将要发展的核心技能设计。目标不是用语法规则压倒你,而是给你日常语言工具和从第一天就敢于开口的勇气。我们会重温你可能已经掌握的词汇,并层层叠加新结构,等到九月开学时,你会觉得自己已准备好积极参与课堂。

Each section combines explanation, examples and short practice tasks. You can move at your own pace, repeat sections and use the audio tips to perfect your pronunciation. Remember, making mistakes is part of learning a language – the most important thing is to try.

每一节都结合了讲解、示例和简短练习任务。你可以按照自己的节奏学习,重复学习小节,并利用发音提示来完善语音。请记住,犯错是学习语言的一部分 – 最重要的是敢于尝试。

2. Why French Matters in KS3 | 法语在 KS3 的重要性

Learning French opens doors to understanding different cultures, travelling with ease and even boosting future career opportunities. In the WJEC KS3 programme, you will not only learn how to speak and write French, but you will also discover music, food, festivals and traditions from France and other French-speaking countries across the world.

学习法语能够打开理解不同文化的大门,让你轻松旅行,甚至提升未来的职业机会。在 WJEC KS3 课程中,你不仅学习如何说法语和写法语,还会探索法国以及世界各地其他法语国家的音乐、美食、节日和传统。

French is often called the language of diplomacy and is spoken by over 300 million people on five continents. Having a foundation in French from an early age helps you become a global citizen, and the skills you gain – such as listening for detail and recognising patterns – will support your learning in other subjects too.

法语常被称为外交语言,全球五大洲有超过三亿人使用法语。从小打下法语基础,有助于你成为一名全球公民,而你获得的技能 – 比如听取细节和识别模式 – 也会对其他学科的学习产生帮助。

  • English: French is an official language in 29 countries.
  • 中文:法语是 29 个国家的官方语言。
  • English: It is one of the working languages of the United Nations, UNESCO and the International Olympic Committee.
  • 中文:它是联合国、联合国教科文组织和国际奥林匹克委员会的工作语言之一。

3. Revising Key Basics: Greetings and Introductions | 复习关键基础知识:问候与自我介绍

Let us start with the absolute essentials: saying hello, asking how someone is and introducing yourself. These phrases form the backbone of your first conversations in French. Practise them aloud until they feel natural – even if you are just talking to your pet or mirror!

让我们从最基础的部分开始:打招呼、询问某人近况以及介绍自己。这些短语构成了你最初法语对话的主干。大声练习直到感觉自然 – 哪怕你只是对宠物或镜子说话!

English: ‘Bonjour’ means hello or good day. Use it any time before evening. ‘Bonsoir’ is good evening. For informal situations, you can say ‘Salut’ – which means hi or bye, but only with friends or people your age.

中文:‘Bonjour’ 意为你好或日安,在傍晚前随时可使用。’Bonsoir’ 是晚上好。在非正式场合你可以说 ‘Salut’ – 表示嗨或拜拜,但只适合和朋友或同龄人使用。

English: To ask ‘How are you?’ you can say ‘Comment ça va?’ or the more formal ‘Comment allez-vous?’ The reply can be ‘Ça va bien, merci’ (I’m fine, thank you), ‘Comme ci, comme ça’ (so-so) or ‘Ça va mal’ (not well).

中文:问 ‘你好吗?’ 可以说 ‘Comment ça va?’ 或者更正式的 ‘Comment allez-vous?’。回答可以是 ‘Ça va bien, merci’(我很好,谢谢)、’Comme ci, comme ça’(马马虎虎)或 ‘Ça va mal’(不好)。

English: When introducing yourself, say ‘Je m’appelle…’ (My name is…). You can then ask ‘Et toi?’ (And you?) or ‘Et vous?’ for formal. A complete mini dialogue could be: ‘Bonjour, je m’appelle Alex. Comment tu t’appelles?’ – ‘Salut, je m’appelle Sam.’

中文:介绍自己时要说 ‘Je m’appelle…’(我叫……)。然后可以问 ‘Et toi?’(你呢?)或正式用 ‘Et vous?’。一段完整的迷你对话可以是:’Bonjour, je m’appelle Alex. Comment tu t’appelles?’ – ‘Salut, je m’appelle Sam.’

4. Numbers, Dates and Time | 数字、日期与时间

Numbers are everywhere – from telling your age to giving your phone number or understanding prices. In this section, we lock in numbers 1 to 31 so you can handle dates, and we also look at how to tell the time using the 12-hour and 24-hour clock.

数字无处不在 – 从讲述年龄到提供电话号码或理解价格。在本节中,我们锁定数字 1 到 31,这样你就能处理日期,我们还会学习如何用十二小时制和二十四小时制表达时间。

Let us review the numbers from 1 to 20, as they are the building blocks for higher numbers. Practise chanting them: un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix, onze, douze, treize, quatorze, quinze, seize, dix-sept, dix-huit, dix-neuf, vingt.

让我们复习一下 1 到 20 的数字,它们是构成更大数字的基石。练习吟唱:un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix, onze, douze, treize, quatorze, quinze, seize, dix-sept, dix-huit, dix-neuf, vingt。

English French 中文
What is the date? Quelle est la date? 今天是几号?
It is the 14th of July. C’est le quatorze juillet. 今天是七月十四日。
What time is it? Quelle heure est-il? 几点了?
It is half past two. Il est deux heures et demie. 现在是两点半。

English: For the 24-hour clock used in timetables, simply add the hour after 12: 13h = 1pm, 14h = 2pm, 15h = 3pm and so on until 23h (11pm). Midnight is ‘minuit’ and midday is ‘midi’. Learning to ask ‘À quelle heure?’ (At what time?) will help you talk about your daily routine.

中文:对于课表使用的二十四小时制,只需在 12 点之后加上小时数:13h = 下午 1 点,14h = 下午 2 点,15h = 下午 3 点,依此类推直到 23h(晚上 11 点)。午夜是 ‘minuit’,正午是 ‘midi’。学会问 ‘À quelle heure?’ (在几点?)能帮助你谈论日常生活。

5. Family and Descriptions | 家庭与描述

Talking about your family is a fantastic way to use possessive adjectives like ‘mon’, ‘ma’, ‘mes’ (my) and to practise physical and personality descriptions. You will learn nouns for family members and some key adjectives, always remembering that adjectives must agree with the gender and number of the noun.

谈论家庭是使用主有形容词如 ‘mon’, ‘ma’, ‘mes’(我的)并练习外貌和性格描述的绝佳方式。你将学习家庭成员的名词和一些关键形容词,始终要记住形容词必须与名词的性和数配合。

English: Key family vocabulary: la mère (mother), le père (father), la sœur (sister), le frère (brother), la grand-mère (grandmother), le grand-père (grandfather), les parents (parents), les grands-parents (grandparents). To say ‘my’, use ‘mon’ before a masculine noun, ‘ma’ before a feminine noun, and ‘mes’ before plurals: mon frère, ma sœur, mes parents.

中文:关键家庭词汇:la mère(母亲)、le père(父亲)、la sœur(姐妹)、le frère(兄弟)、la grand-mère(祖母)、le grand-père(祖父)、les parents(父母)、les grands-parents(祖父母)。表示 ‘我的’ 时,阳性名词前用 ‘mon’,阴性名词前用 ‘ma’,复数前用 ‘mes’:mon frère, ma sœur, mes parents。

English: Describing people: ‘Il est grand et sportif’ (He is tall and sporty), ‘Elle est petite et intelligente’ (She is short and intelligent). Notice how ‘sportif’ becomes ‘sportive’ for feminine and ‘intelligent’ becomes ‘intelligente’. Also, the verb ‘avoir’ is used for age and hair: ‘J’ai douze ans’ (I am 12), ‘Elle a les cheveux longs’ (She has long hair).

中文:描述人物:’Il est grand et sportif’(他又高又爱运动),’Elle est petite et intelligente’(她又矮又聪明)。注意 ‘sportif’ 变为阴性 ‘sportive’,’intelligent’ 变为 ‘intelligente’。此外,动词 ‘avoir’ 用于表达年龄和头发:’J’ai douze ans’(我 12 岁),’Elle a les cheveux longs’(她留着长发)。

6. School Life and Subjects | 学校生活与科目

School is a big part of your daily life, and being able to talk about your timetable, favourite subjects and teachers gives you plenty of speaking and writing material. In this section, we learn subject names, express opinions and practice time phrases.

学校是你日常生活的很大一部分,能够谈论你的课程表、最喜欢的科目和老师可以给你提供丰富的口语和写作素材。本节我们学习科目名称、表达观点并练习时间短语。

English: Common subjects: le français (French), les maths (maths), l’anglais (English), les sciences (science), l’histoire-géo (history-geography), l’EPS (PE), la musique (music), l’art (art), la technologie (design and technology). Use ‘J’aime’ (I like), ‘Je n’aime pas’ (I don’t like), ‘J’adore’ (I love), ‘Je déteste’ (I hate). For example: ‘J’adore les maths parce que c’est intéressant.’

中文:常见科目:le français(法语)、les maths(数学)、l’anglais(英语)、les sciences(科学)、l’histoire-géo(历史-地理)、l’EPS(体育)、la musique(音乐)、l’art(艺术)、la technologie(设计与技术)。使用 ‘J’aime’(我喜欢)、’Je n’aime pas’(我不喜欢)、’J’adore’(我热爱)、’Je déteste’(我讨厌)。例如:’J’adore les maths parce que c’est intéressant.’(我热爱数学因为它有趣。)

English: To talk about your timetable, use days of the week: lundi, mardi, mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi, dimanche. Add ‘le’ before the day for ‘on’ a particular day: ‘Le lundi, j’ai anglais.’ To say what time a lesson starts, use ‘commence à’: ‘Le cours de français commence à neuf heures.’

中文:谈论课表时,使用星期几:lundi, mardi, mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi, dimanche。在星期前加 ‘le’ 表示 ‘在星期几’:’Le lundi, j’ai anglais.’(星期一我有英语课。)要表达课程几点开始,使用 ‘commence à’:’Le cours de français commence à neuf heures.’(法语课九点开始。)

7. Daily Activities and Hobbies | 日常活动与爱好

Being able to describe what you do in your free time makes conversations much more engaging. We will use regular -er verbs, which are the most common verb group, along with some key irregular verbs like ‘faire’ (to do) and ‘aller’ (to go).

能够描述你在空闲时间做什么可以让对话变得更有趣。我们将使用最常见的规则动词 -er 组动词,以及一些重要的不规则动词,如 ‘faire’(做)和 ‘aller’(去)。

English: To conjugate a regular -er verb like ‘jouer’ (to play), remove -er and add endings: je joue, tu joues, il/elle joue, nous jouons, vous jouez, ils/elles jouent. You can say ‘Je joue au foot’ (I play football), ‘Je joue à la console’ (I play on the console). For musical instruments, use ‘du’ or ‘de la’: ‘Je joue du piano’, ‘Je joue de la guitare’.

中文:变位规则 -er 动词如 ‘jouer’(玩)时,去掉 -er 并加上词尾:je joue, tu joues, il/elle joue, nous jouons, vous jouez, ils/elles jouent。你可以说 ‘Je joue au foot’(我踢足球),’Je joue à la console’(我玩游戏机)。而乐器则用 ‘du’ 或 ‘de la’:’Je joue du piano’(我弹钢琴),’Je joue de la guitare’(我弹吉他)。

English: The verb ‘faire’ is used for many activities: je fais, tu fais, il/elle fait, nous faisons, vous faites, ils/elles font. Common expressions: faire du vélo (cycling), faire de la natation (swimming), faire de la danse (dancing), faire les magasins (shopping). ‘Aller’ (to go) is irregular: je vais, tu vas, il/elle va, nous allons, vous allez, ils/elles vont, often combined with ‘au/à la/aux’: ‘Je vais au cinéma.’

中文:动词 ‘faire’ 用于许多活动:je fais, tu fais, il/elle fait, nous faisons, vous faites, ils/elles font。常用表达:faire du vélo(骑自行车)、faire de la natation(游泳)、faire de la danse(跳舞)、faire les magasins(购物)。’Aller’(去)是不规则动词:je vais, tu vas, il/elle va, nous allons, vous allez, ils/elles vont,常与 ‘au/à la/aux’ 连用:’Je vais au cinéma.’(我去电影院。)

8. Basic Grammar: Être and Avoir | 基础语法:动词 être 和 avoir

These two verbs are the pillars of French grammar. You will use ‘être’ (to be) for descriptions and states, and ‘avoir’ (to have) for possession, age and certain expressions. Memorising their conjugations now will pay dividends all through KS3 and beyond.

这两个动词是法语语法的支柱。你会用 ‘être’(是)来表达描述和状态,用 ‘avoir’(有)来表达拥有、年龄和特定表达。现在记住它们的变位会让你在整个 KS3 及以后大受裨益。

Subject Être (to be) Avoir (to have)
je suis ai
tu es as
il/elle/on est a
nous sommes avons
vous êtes avez
ils/elles sont ont

English: Use ‘être’ with adjectives: ‘Je suis fatigué/fatiguée’ (I am tired – add extra ‘e’ for feminine). ‘Nous sommes contents/contentes’ (We are happy). For nationalities: ‘Il est anglais’ (He is English), ‘Elle est galloise’ (She is Welsh). ‘Avoir’ is used in expressions like ‘avoir faim’ (to be hungry), ‘avoir soif’ (to be thirsty), ‘avoir chaud’ (to be hot), ‘avoir froid’ (to be cold), ‘avoir raison’ (to be right).

中文:用 ‘être’ 搭配形容词:’Je suis fatigué/fatiguée’(我累了 – 阴性加 e)。’Nous sommes contents/contentes’(我们开心)。表示国籍:’Il est anglais’(他是英国人),’Elle est galloise’(她是威尔士人)。’Avoir’ 用于表达感觉:’avoir faim’(饿了)、’avoir soif’(渴了)、’avoir chaud’(热)、’avoir froid’(冷)、’avoir raison’(有道理)。

English: When forming the negative, place ‘ne…pas’ around the conjugated verb: ‘Je ne suis pas triste’ (I am not sad), ‘Tu n’as pas de frère’ (You don’t have a brother). Notice ‘n” before a vowel sound.

中文:构成否定时,将 ‘ne…pas’ 放在变位动词周围:’Je ne suis pas triste’(我不悲伤),’Tu n’as pas de frère’(你没有兄弟)。注意元音前用 ‘n”。

9. Pronunciation and Phonics | 发音与拼读规则

Good pronunciation starts with understanding the sounds of French. Unlike English, French has a more regular sound-to-letter correspondence once you learn the rules. Focusing on phonics will boost your listening and speaking confidence dramatically.

良好的发音始于理解法语的声音。与英语不同,一旦你学会规则,法语的拼读对应关系更加规律。专注于拼读法会极大增强你的听力和口语信心。

English: Key phonics rules: ‘ou’ is pronounced like ‘oo’ in ‘food’ (e.g., ‘vous’). ‘oi’ sounds like ‘wa’ (e.g., ‘moi’). ‘au’ and ‘eau’ make the ‘o’ sound (e.g., ‘chaud’, ‘bateau’). The final consonant is often silent unless the next word starts with a vowel (liaison). For example, ‘vous avez’ sounds like ‘voo zavay’ because the ‘s’ is pronounced as ‘z’.

English: Nasal sounds are tricky but essential. ‘on’ as in ‘bonjour’ is pronounced with air through the nose, similar to ‘ong’ but softer. ‘en/an’ as in ‘enfant’ and ‘dans’ also nasal. Practise holding your nose lightly – you should feel vibration. Accents change pronunciation: ‘é’ (acute) is a bright ‘ay’, ‘è’ and ‘ê’ (grave and circumflex) are more open ‘eh’. The cedilla ‘ç’ makes ‘c’ soft before ‘a’, ‘o’, ‘u’: ‘français’.

中文:鼻音较难但至关重要。’on’ 如 ‘bonjour’ 中的发音是气流通过鼻腔,类似 ‘ong’ 但更轻柔。’en/an’ 如 ‘enfant’ 和 ‘dans’ 也是鼻音。练习轻轻捏住鼻子 – 你应该感觉到震动。重音符号改变发音:’é’(尖音符)发明亮的 ‘ay’,’è’ 和 ‘ê’(钝音符和长音符)发更开口的 ‘eh’。软音符 ‘ç’ 使 ‘c’ 在 ‘a’、’o’、’u’ 前发软音:’français’。

10. Cultural Exploration: Francophone Countries and Festivals | 文化探索:法语国家与节日

The WJEC specification encourages you to discover the variety of the Francophone world. You do not only learn about France; you explore different places where French is spoken, from Québec in Canada to Senegal in West Africa, from Belgium to the Caribbean islands.

WJEC 大纲鼓励你去探索法语世界的多样性。你不仅了解法国,还会探索不同讲法语的地方,从加拿大的魁北克到西非的塞内加尔,从比利时到加勒比岛屿。

English: Each region has its own accent, expressions and traditions. For example, in Québec you might hear ‘blonde’ for girlfriend, and in Senegal they might say ‘ça va cool’ to mean all is well. Learning about festivals like ‘le 14 juillet’ (Bastille Day), ‘la fête de la musique’ and ‘Mardi Gras’ gives context to your language study.

中文:每个地区都有自己的口音、表达和传统。例如在魁北克你可能会听到用 ‘blonde’ 表示女朋友,在塞内加尔他们可能说 ‘ça va cool’ 来表示一切都好。了解 ‘le 14 juillet’(巴士底日)、’la fête de la musique’(音乐节)和 ‘Mardi Gras’(狂欢节)等节日能让你的语言学习更有背景。

English: You could research a Francophone country this summer: find its flag, capital, typical food and a famous song. Then create a simple fact file in French: ‘Le Sénégal est en Afrique. On parle français et wolof. Le plat typique est le thiéboudiène.’ This project will sharpen your reading and writing skills while broadening your horizons.

中文:这个暑假你可以研究一个法语国家:找出它的国旗、首都、典型食物和一首著名歌曲。然后用法语制作一份简单的资料卡:’Le Sénégal est en Afrique. On parle français et wolof. Le plat typique est le thiéboudiène.’(塞内加尔在非洲。人们说法语和沃洛夫语。典型菜肴是 thieboudienne。)这个项目将提升你的读写技能,同时开阔视野。

11. Vocabulary Building Strategies | 词汇积累技巧

Growing your vocabulary does not have to be a chore. By using cognates (words that look similar in English and French), mind maps and a little daily routine, you can learn hundreds of words without feeling overwhelmed. Start a personal vocabulary book or digital flashcard set now.

扩大词汇量不一定是一件苦差事。通过利用同源词(英法拼写相似的单词)、思维导图以及每天一点小习惯,你可以在不感到压力的情况下学会数百个单词。现在就开始建立个人词汇本或数字闪卡集吧。

English: Many English words ending in ‘-tion’ are identical in French: ‘nation’, ‘attention’, ‘information’. Words ending in ‘-ly’ often become ‘-ment’: ‘really’ → ‘vraiment’, ‘absolutely’ → ‘absolument’. Learning these patterns reduces your memory load significantly.

中文:许多以 ‘-tion’ 结尾的英文单词在法语中拼写完全相同:’nation’, ‘attention’, ‘information’。以 ‘-ly’ 结尾的单词常变为 ‘-ment’:’really’ → ‘vraiment’,’absolutely’ → ‘absolument’。学习这些模式能大大减轻记忆负担。

English: Organise new words into topics: colours, animals, food, clothes. Write the French word on one side of a card and a drawing or English on the other. Try to use five new words each day in spoken or written sentences – even if they are simple. For example, ‘Je porte un pantalon bleu’ (I am wearing blue trousers).

中文:把新单词按主题分类:颜色、动物、食物、衣物。在卡片一面写法文单词,另一面画图或写英文。每天尝试在口语或书面句子中使用五个新单词 – 即使句子很简单。比如 ‘Je porte un pantalon bleu’(我穿着蓝色裤子)。

12. Bridging Tips and Learning Resources | 衔接建议与学习资源

To make the most of this summer and hit the ground running in September, combine short, frequent practice sessions with enjoyable French media. Consistency beats cramming every time. Below is a checklist of activities to build into your routine.

为了充分利用这个夏天并在九月快速起步,要把短时间、高频次的练习与有趣的法语媒体结合起来。坚持永远比突击有效。下面是一份可融入日常的活动清单。

  • English: Listen to French songs (try Stromae, Kids United or Indila) and read the lyrics.
  • 中文:听法语歌(试试 Stromae、Kids United 或 Indila)并阅读歌词。
  • English: Watch cartoons or series in French with subtitles – ‘Le Petit Nicolas’ and ‘Tintin’ are great.
  • 中文:观看法语配音的动画片或连续剧并打开字幕 – ‘Le Petit Nicolas’ 和 ‘Tintin’ 非常棒。
  • English: Duolingo and Memrise offer gamified vocabulary drills. Use them for 10–15 minutes a day.
  • 中文:Duolingo 和 Memrise 提供游戏化的词汇训练,每天花 10–15 分钟。
  • English: Label items around your home with sticky notes in French: ‘la porte’, ‘la fenêtre’, ‘le frigo’.
  • 中文:用便利贴给家里物品标上法语:’la porte’(门)、’la fenêtre’(窗)、’le frigo’(冰箱)。
  • English: Keep a simple journal. Write one or two sentences a day: ‘Aujourd’hui, je suis heureux parce qu’il fait beau.’
  • 中文:写简单日记。每天写一两个句子:’Aujourd’hui, je suis heureux parce qu’il fait beau.’(今天我很高兴,因为天气好。)

English: Finally, revisit this article whenever you need a refresher. All exercises and tables can be used as quick reference sheets. Remember that language learning is a marathon, not a sprint, and every new word brings you closer to being a confident French speaker. Bonne chance et bonnes vacances!

中文:最后,在需要复习的时候随时回来看这篇文章。所有练习和表格都可以用作快速参考单。记住语言学习是一场马拉松,不是短跑,每个新单词都让你离成为一名自信的法语使用者更进一步。祝你好运,假期愉快!
