1. Paper Structure and Command Words | 试卷结构与指令词

Edexcel A Level Maths Paper 1 is a pure mathematics paper worth 100 marks and lasting 2 hours. It usually contains around 11 to 14 questions, with later questions asking you to link several topics such as trigonometry, calculus and coordinate geometry.

Before answering, identify command words: ‘state’ requires a short answer, ‘show that’ requires rigorous working, and ‘hence or otherwise’ signals a link from the previous part.

2. Algebraic Manipulation and Surds | 代数运算与根式

Pure Paper 1 often starts with simplification of rational expressions, indices and surds. You must be confident rationalising denominators such as 1 ÷ (3 + √2) by multiplying numerator and denominator by the conjugate 3 − √2.

4. Graphs and Transformations | 函数图像与变换
