📚 High-Frequency Exam Topics and Common Mistakes in IGCSE WJEC French | IGCSE WJEC 法语:高频考点与易错题分析

This revision guide focuses on the topics and error patterns that appear most often in the IGCSE WJEC French examinations. It combines grammar, vocabulary, and exam strategy so that you can revise efficiently and avoid losing marks on predictable mistakes.

本复习指南聚焦 IGCSE WJEC 法语考试中最常出现的话题与错误类型。它结合语法、词汇和应试策略,帮助你高效复习,避免在可预见的错误上丢分。

1. Exam Structure and Thematic Coverage | 考试结构与主题覆盖

WJEC French assessments typically cover three main areas: speaking, listening and reading, and writing. Questions are built around familiar topics such as identity and culture, local and global areas of interest, school life, work, and future plans.

WJEC 法语考试通常涵盖三大板块:口语、听力与阅读、写作。题目围绕熟悉的话题展开,例如身份与文化、本地及全球关注领域、校园生活、工作以及未来规划。

  • Identity, family, friends, hobbies and daily routine
  • School, subjects, rules and pressures
  • Town, region, environment and social issues
  • Work, work experience and future study
  • Travel, tourism, customs and festivals
  • 身份、家庭、朋友、爱好与日常生活
  • 学校、科目、校规与压力
  • 城镇、地区、环境与社会问题
  • 工作、工作经历与未来学习
  • 旅行、旅游、风俗与节日

Students lose marks not because they know nothing, but because they answer a slightly different question. Always underline the key words in the target language and identify the tense required before writing or speaking.

学生丢分往往不是因为完全不懂,而是因为答偏了题目。写作或开口前,一定要在目标语言中划出关键词,并确认题目要求的时态。

2. Present Tense and High-Frequency Irregular Verbs | 现在时与高频不规则动词

The present tense is the foundation of most speaking and writing tasks. Regular -er, -ir and -re verbs follow predictable patterns, but the most common verbs in French are irregular and must be memorised.

现在时是大多数口语和写作任务的基础。规则 -er、-ir、-re 动词遵循可预测的变化模式,但法语中最常见的动词大多不规则,必须熟记。

Verb Je Tu Il/Elle Nous Vous Ils/Elles
être suis es est sommes êtes sont
avoir ai as a avons avez ont
aller vais vas va allons allez vont
faire fais fais fait faisons faites font

A common error is writing ‘je aller’ or ‘nous est’. In French, the subject and verb must agree in person and number. Practise complete conjugations aloud, not just the infinitive.

常见错误是写出 ‘je aller’ 或 ‘nous est’。在法语中,主语和动词必须在人称和单复数上保持一致。要大声练习完整变位,而不只是记住动词原形。

3. Passé Composé: Avoir or Être? | 复合过去时:用 avoir 还是 être?

The passé composé is formed with the present tense of avoir or être plus the past participle. Most verbs use avoir, but a specific group of movement and reflexive verbs uses être.

复合过去时由 avoir 或 être 的现在时加上过去分词构成。大多数动词用 avoir,但一组特定的移动动词和所有代词式动词用 être。

  • aller, venir, arriver, partir, entrer, sortir, monter, descendre, rester, retourner, tomber, naître, mourir
  • Reflexive verbs: se lever, se coucher, s’habiller, se laver
  • aller, venir, arriver, partir, entrer, sortir, monter, descendre, rester, retourner, tomber, naître, mourir
  • 代词式动词:se lever, se coucher, s’habiller, se laver

With être, the past participle agrees with the subject: elle est allée, ils sont partis, nous nous sommes levés. With avoir, the past participle agrees with a preceding direct object: les pommes que j’ai mangées.

使用 être 时,过去分词要与主语性数配合:elle est allée,ils sont partis,nous nous sommes levés。使用 avoir 时,过去分词要与前置的直接宾语配合:les pommes que j’ai mangées。

Many students forget the agreement with être or add an extra -e with avoir. Check whether the helper is être and whether the object comes before the verb before deciding on agreement.

很多学生忘记 être 的性数配合,或在使用 avoir 时多加 -e。判断是否配合前,要确认助动词是否为 être,以及宾语是否位于动词之前。

4. Imparfait vs Passé Composé | 未完成过去时与复合过去时的区别

The imparfait describes ongoing, repeated or background actions in the past, while the passé composé describes completed, single events. Both often appear in the same writing task.

未完成过去时描写过去持续、重复或背景性的动作,而复合过去时描写完成的、一次性的动作。两者经常出现在同一写作任务中。

  • Imparfait: time, weather, feelings, habits, description, interrupted actions
  • Passé composé: what happened, the main event, a completed action
  • 未完成过去时:时间、天气、感受、习惯、描写、被中断的动作
  • 复合过去时:发生了什么、主要事件、完成的动作

Example: Il pleuvait quand je suis sorti. The rain sets the scene, so it is imparfait; going out is a completed action, so it is passé composé.

例如:Il pleuvait quand je suis sorti。下雨是背景场景,所以用未完成过去时;出门是完成的动作,所以用复合过去时。

Avoid translating directly from English. ‘I was doing’ usually leads to imparfait, while ‘I did’ usually leads to passé composé. Look for time markers such as souvent, tous les jours, soudain, une fois.

不要从英语直译。’I was doing’ 通常对应未完成过去时,而 ‘I did’ 通常对应复合过去时。注意 souvent、tous les jours、soudain、une fois 等时间标记。

5. Pronouns: Direct, Indirect, y and en | 代词:直接宾语、间接宾语、y 和 en

Object pronouns replace nouns to avoid repetition. Their position before the verb causes frequent errors: Je le vois, Je lui parle, J’y vais, J’en ai deux.

宾语代词用来替代名词,避免重复。它们位于动词之前,这一点经常导致错误:Je le vois,Je lui parle,J’y vais,J’en ai deux。

Type Pronouns Example
Direct object me, te, le, la, nous, vous, les Je la regarde.
Indirect object me, te, lui, nous, vous, leur Je lui téléphone.
y replaces à + place/thing J’y vais demain.
en replaces de + noun/quantity J’en veux trois.

In compound tenses, pronouns go before the auxiliary: Je l’ai vu, Je ne l’ai pas vu. In double pronoun sequences, me/te/se/nous/vous come before le/la/les, and both come before y and en.

在复合时态中,代词位于助动词之前:Je l’ai vu,Je ne l’ai pas vu。在双代词结构中,me/te/se/nous/vous 在 le/la/les 之前,这些又在 y 和 en 之前。

Practise rewriting sentences with pronouns rather than only recognising them in reading. The ability to manipulate pronouns accurately is a clear differentiator in higher-tier writing and speaking.

要练习用代词改写句子,而不是只在阅读中辨认。能否准确灵活运用代词,是高阶写作和口语中明显的分水岭。

6. Negation and Its Traps | 否定结构及其陷阱

The basic negation ne…pas wraps around the conjugated verb: Je ne mange pas. In compound tenses, it wraps around the auxiliary: Je n’ai pas mangé.

基本否定结构 ne…pas 包围变位动词:Je ne mange pas。在复合时态中,它包围助动词:Je n’ai pas mangé。

  • ne…plus — no longer
  • ne…jamais — never
  • ne…rien — nothing
  • ne…personne — nobody
  • ne…que — only
  • ne…plus — 不再
  • ne…jamais — 从不
  • ne…rien — 没有什么
  • ne…personne — 没有人
  • ne…que — 仅仅

Errors occur with word order: Je ne vois personne, not Je ne personne vois. With infinitives, ne pas stays together before the infinitive: Je préfère ne pas sortir.

错误常出现在语序上:Je ne vois personne,而不是 Je ne personne vois。与动词不定式连用时,ne pas 要放在不定式前:Je préfère ne pas sortir。

Remember that in informal spoken French, the ne is often dropped, but in writing and exams you must include it. Listening tasks may test your ability to hear a reduced negation, so listen for the ‘n’ or ‘pas’ even if the full form is not obvious.

记住,在非正式口语中 ne 常被省略,但在写作和考试中必须保留。听力题可能考查你能否听出弱化的否定形式,因此即使完整形式不明显,也要注意捕捉 ‘n’ 或 ‘pas’。

7. Articles and the Partitive after Negation | 冠词与否定后的部分冠词

French uses definite, indefinite and partitive articles in places where English might use none. The partitive du, de la, de l’, des expresses an unspecified quantity: Je mange du pain.

法语在英语可能不用冠词的地方使用定冠词、不定冠词和部分冠词。部分冠词 du、de la、de l’、des 表示不确定的数量:Je mange du pain。

After a negative, the partitive and indefinite articles un, une, des become de or d’: Je ne mange pas de pain, Je n’ai pas de voiture. This is one of the most common grammar errors.

However, after the verb être, the indefinite article usually remains: Ce n’est pas un problème. Also, ne…que keeps the article: Je ne bois que de l’eau.

然而,在动词 être 后,不定冠词通常保留:Ce n’est pas un problème。此外,ne…que 保留冠词:Je ne bois que de l’eau。

8. Adjective Agreement and Position | 形容词的性数配合与位置

Adjectives agree in gender and number with the noun they describe: un sac noir, une robe noire, des sacs noirs, des robes noires. This is tested constantly in writing and gap-fill tasks.

形容词要与所修饰名词在性和数上保持一致:un sac noir,une robe noire,des sacs noirs,des robes noires。这一点在写作和填空任务中反复考查。

Most French adjectives come after the noun, but a short list of high-frequency adjectives comes before: bon, mauvais, petit, grand, jeune, vieux, beau, joli, nouveau, long.

大多数法语形容词放在名词之后,但有一组高频形容词放在名词之前:bon、mauvais、petit、grand、jeune、vieux、beau、joli、nouveau、long。

  • une belle maison — a beautiful house
  • un vieil ami — an old friend
  • de nouveaux livres — new books
  • une belle maison — 漂亮的房子
  • un vieil ami — 老朋友
  • de nouveaux livres — 新书

Irregular adjectives include beau/bel/belle, nouveau/nouvel/nouvelle, vieux/vieil/vieille and blanc/blanche. Use the correct form before vowel or silent h: un bel homme, un nouvel hôtel.

不规则形容词包括 beau/bel/belle、nouveau/nouvel/nouvelle、vieux/vieil/vieille 和 blanc/blanche。在元音或哑音 h 前使用正确形式:un bel homme,un nouvel hôtel。

9. Questions and Interrogative Forms | 疑问句及其形式

WJEC speaking exams reward natural, varied questioning. There are three main ways to ask a question in French: intonation, est-ce que, and inversion.

WJEC 口语考试鼓励自然、多样的提问方式。法语中提问主要有三种方式:语调、est-ce que 和倒装。

  • Tu aimes le sport ?
  • Est-ce que tu aimes le sport ?
  • Aimes-tu le sport ?
  • Tu aimes le sport ?
  • Est-ce que tu aimes le sport ?
  • Aimes-tu le sport ?

Interrogative words include où, quand, comment, pourquoi, combien, quel/quelle. With inversion, the subject pronoun is linked by a hyphen: Où habites-tu ? Pourquoi est-ce que tu étudies le français ?

疑问词包括 où、quand、comment、pourquoi、combien、quel/quelle。使用倒装时,主语代词通过连字符连接:Où habites-tu ? Pourquoi est-ce que tu étudies le français ?

Avoid the common error of saying ‘Où tu habites?’ in formal writing. Intonation is acceptable in casual spoken French, but in written production you should use est-ce que or inversion.

避免在正式写作中出现 ‘Où tu habites?’ 这样的错误。语调提问在随意的口语中可以使用,但在书面表达中应使用 est-ce que 或倒装。

10. Comparisons and Superlatives | 比较级与最高级

Comparisons use plus, moins or aussi before an adjective or adverb: plus grand, moins cher, aussi intelligent. The comparative is followed by que: Je suis plus grand que toi.

比较级在形容词或副词前使用 plus、moins 或 aussi:plus grand、moins cher、aussi intelligent。比较级后用 que:Je suis plus grand que toi。

Irregular comparatives are a major source of error: bon → meilleur, bien → mieux, mauvais → pire. Note that meilleur is an adjective, while mieux is an adverb.

Adjectives in the superlative keep their normal position before or after the noun.

最高级使用 le plus、la plus、les plus 或 le moins:c’est la ville la plus intéressante,ce sont les élèves les moins motivés。最高级中的形容词保持正常的前置或后置位置。

11. High-Frequency Listening and Reading Traps | 听力与阅读高频陷阱

Listening and reading papers often use distractors: a text mentions an option but then negates it, or uses a different tense. The correct answer is not always the first familiar word you hear.

听力和阅读试卷经常使用干扰项:文本提到某个选项,但随后又否定了它,或使用了不同的时态。正确答案不总是你听到或看到的第一个熟悉单词。

Trap What to do
Positive statement followed by ‘mais’ Pay attention after ‘mais’
Number or time spelt differently Focus on the full phrase, not the first digit
Synonyms rather than exact words Learn topic vocabulary in word families
Negation dropped in informal speech Listen for ‘pas’, ‘jamais’, ‘rien’
陷阱 应对方法
肯定句后出现 ‘mais’ 注意 ‘mais’ 之后的内容
数字或时间的不同表达 关注整个短语,而不是第一个数字
同义词而非原词 按词族学习主题词汇
非正式口语中否定被省略 注意听 ‘pas’、’jamais’、’rien’

In reading, beware of cognates with different meanings: actuellement means currently, not actually; assister à means to attend, not to assist. These faux amis are regularly tested.

在阅读中,要警惕含义不同的同源词:actuellement 意思是目前,不是 actually;assister à 意思是参加,不是 to assist。这些假朋友是常考点。

12. Writing and Speaking: Exam Strategy | 写作与口语:考试策略

Use a clear structure in extended writing: present tense for general views, passé composé for past experiences, future or conditional for plans. Examiners reward a range of tenses used accurately.

在长篇写作中使用清晰的结构:一般观点用现在时,过去经历用复合过去时,计划用将来时或条件式。考官奖励准确使用多种时态的表达。

  • Include opinions with justification: Je pense que… parce que…
  • Add time markers: d’abord, ensuite, enfin, après, avant
  • Use connectors: cependant, pourtant, alors que, tandis que
  • Show ambition with a conditional sentence: Si j’avais le choix, je voudrais…
  • 表达观点并说明理由:Je pense que… parce que…
  • 使用时间标记:d’abord、ensuite、enfin、après、avant
  • 使用连接词:cependant、pourtant、alors que、tandis que
  • 用条件句展现更高水平:Si j’avais le choix, je voudrais…

In speaking, prepare key phrases you can adapt, but avoid memorising full answers. Speak in complete sentences, self-correct if needed, and ask the examiner a question if the opportunity arises.

在口语中,准备可以灵活调整的关键短语,但避免背诵完整答案。用完整句子表达,必要时自我纠正,并在合适时向考官提问。

Finally, leave time to check written work for accents, verb endings and adjective agreement. These small accuracy fixes can lift a response by several marks.

最后,留出时间检查书面作业中的重音符号、动词词尾和形容词配合。这些小的准确性修正可以提升好几分。
