📚 IGCSE CAIE German: Vocabulary & Terminology Rapid Memory Guide | IGCSE CAIE 德语:词汇术语速记指南

This guide focuses on high-frequency vocabulary and exam terminology for the CAIE IGCSE German syllabus. Instead of long random lists, you will find memory strategies, word-formation rules, and thematic vocabulary that help you recall words quickly in reading, writing, and speaking exams.

本指南聚焦 CAIE IGCSE 德语考纲中的高频词汇与考试术语。我们不堆砌冗长的随机单词表,而是通过记忆策略、构词规律和主题词汇,帮助你在阅读、写作和口语考试中快速回忆单词。

1. Core Exam Command Words | 核心考试指令词

Understanding exam instructions is your first survival skill. If you misread a command, you lose marks even with perfect German content.

看懂考试指令是你的第一项求生技能。如果误读指令,即使德语内容完美也会丢分。

  • Ergänzen – complete / fill in – 补全 / 填空(如 Ergänzen Sie die Sätze)
  • Ankreuzen – tick / cross – 打勾 / 划叉(选择题常用)
  • Auswählen – choose / select – 选择
  • Verbinden – match / connect – 配对 / 连线
  • Schreiben Sie – write – 书写(作文题指令)
  • Lesen Sie – read – 阅读(读题指令)
  • Hören Sie – listen – 听(听力题指令)
  • Sprechen Sie – speak – 说(口语题指令)
  • Beantworten Sie – answer – 回答(简答题常见)
  • Kreuzen Sie an – tick the box – 按要求勾选

Tip: Always read the verb first in a German exam instruction. The verb often appears at the end of a sentence, so scan from the end backwards.

技巧:阅读德语考试指令时先找动词。德语动词常位于句末,因此建议从后往前扫描。

2. Noun Gender Patterns | 名词词性规律

German nouns have three genders: der (masculine), die (feminine), das (neuter). Instead of memorising each noun alone, look at its ending. Endings are a reliable shortcut.

德语名词有三种词性:der(阳性)、die(阴性)、das(中性)。不要孤立背名词,先看词尾。词尾是可靠的捷径。

Gender Common Endings Examples

Memory hook: The ending -chen or -lein always makes a noun neuter, even if the original noun was feminine or masculine. For example, “die Mutter” → “das Mütterchen” (little mother).

记忆锚点:词尾 -chen-lein 使名词必定变为中性,即使原名词是阴性或阳性。例如 “die Mutter” → “das Mütterchen”(小妈妈)。

3. Verb Prefixes: Separable vs Inseparable | 动词前缀:可分与不可分

Many German verbs change meaning when you add a prefix. Recognising these prefixes saves you from guessing in the reading exam.

许多德语动词加上前缀后含义改变。在阅读考试中识别这些前缀能帮你免于乱猜。

Separable prefixes (stressed, break off in main clauses):

可分前缀(重读,在主句中会脱离动词):

  • auf- (up, open): aufstehen (get up), aufmachen (open) – 向上 / 打开
  • ab- (off, down): abfahren (depart), abwaschen (wash off) – 离开 / 向下
  • aus- (out): ausgehen (go out), ausfüllen (fill in) – 向外 / 填满
  • ein- (in): einkaufen (shop), einsteigen (get in) – 进入 / 购物
  • mit- (with): mitkommen (come along), mitbringen (bring along) – 伴随
  • zurück- (back): zurückgeben (give back), zurückkommen (come back) – 返回

Inseparable prefixes (unstressed, never separate):

不可分前缀(非重读,永远不分离):

  • be-: bekommen (get), besuchen (visit) – 获得 / 拜访
  • ge-: gefallen (please), gehören (belong to) – 使满意 / 属于
  • er-: erklären (explain), erreichen (reach) – 解释 / 到达
  • ver-: verstehen (understand), verkaufen (sell) – 理解 / 出售
  • ent-: entdecken (discover), entschuldigen (excuse) – 发现 / 道歉

In a sentence, a separable verb’s prefix jumps to the end: “Ich stehe jeden Tag um 7 Uhr auf.” This is a frequent exam trap — expect the prefix at the end.

在句子中,可分动词的前缀跳到句末:”Ich stehe jeden Tag um 7 Uhr auf.” 这是常见考试陷阱——请预期句末出现前缀。

4. Prepositions & Cases | 介词与格

Prepositions control whether the next noun takes Accusative (direct object) or Dative (indirect object). Memorise them in groups rather than one by one.

介词决定后面的名词用第四格(直接宾语)还是第三格(间接宾语)。分组记忆比逐个背更有效。

Always Dative (Dativ): aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu

永远接第三格:aus(从…出来)、bei(在…旁)、mit(和)、nach(去、在…之后)、seit(自从)、von(来自)、zu(到)

Always Accusative (Akkusativ): durch, für, gegen, ohne, um

永远接第四格:durch(穿过)、für(为了)、gegen(反对、朝着)、ohne(无)、um(围绕、在…时)

Two-way prepositions (Wechselpräpositionen): in, an, auf, über, unter, vor, hinter, neben, zwischen

两用介词(可第四格可第三格):in(在…里)、an(在…旁/边缘)、auf(在…上面)、über(在…上方/关于)、unter(在…下面)、vor(在…前面)、hinter(在…后面)、neben(在…旁边)、zwischen(在…之间)

Movement + Movement? → Accusative | Position + Position? → Dative

表方向移动 → 第四格 | 表静止位置 → 第三格

Quick check: “Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch” (I put the book onto the table — movement, Accusative) vs “Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch” (The book lies on the table — position, Dative).

快速检验:”Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch”(我把书放到桌上——移动,第四格)对比 “Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch”(书放在桌上——位置,第三格)。

5. Question Words (W-Fragen) | 疑问词

Question words often appear in reading and listening tasks. Master them to know exactly what information you are hunting for.

疑问词常出现在阅读和听力任务中。掌握它们能让你明确知道要寻找什么信息。

  • Wer? – who? (person) – 谁(人)
  • Was? – what? (thing) – 什么(事物)
  • Wo? – where? (position) – 在哪里(位置)
  • Wohin? – where to? (direction) – 前往何处(方向)
  • Woher? – where from? (origin) – 来自哪里
  • Wann? – when? (time) – 何时(时间)
  • Wie? – how? (manner) – 如何(方式)
  • Wie viele? – how many? – 多少(可数)
  • Warum? – why? (reason) – 为什么(原因)
  • Wessen? – whose? (possession) – 谁的(所属)

Trick: Distinguish “wo”, “wohin”, and “woher” by thinking of a camera: “wo” is a still picture, “wohin” is a moving arrow away, “woher” is an arrow coming toward you.

技巧:区分 “wo”、”wohin” 和 “woher” 可想像摄影机:”wo” 是静止画面,”wohin” 是向外移动的箭头,”woher” 是朝你而来的箭头。

6. Time, Dates & Numbers | 时间、日期与数字

Numeracy and time vocabulary are guaranteed marks in the listening test. Learn them as fixed chunks.

数字和时间词汇是听力考试中的必得分项。请以固定词块形式学习。

Days of the week: Montag (Mon), Dienstag (Tue), Mittwoch (Wed), Donnerstag (Thu), Freitag (Fri), Samstag (Sat), Sonntag (Sun)

星期:Montag(周一)、Dienstag(周二)、Mittwoch(周三)、Donnerstag(周四)、Freitag(周五)、Samstag(周六)、Sonntag(周日)

Months: Januar, Februar, März, April, Mai, Juni, Juli, August, September, Oktober, November, Dezember

月份:Januar(一月)、Februar(二月)、März(三月)、April(四月)、Mai(五月)、Juni(六月)、Juli(七月)、August(八月)、September(九月)、Oktober(十月)、November(十一月)、Dezember(十二月)

  • Viertel nach / Viertel vor – quarter past / quarter to – 一刻钟过 / 差一刻钟
  • halb + next hour – half to the next hour (halb drei = 2:30) – 半点指”下一个小时的半”(halb drei = 两点半)
  • der Morgen (morning), der Vormittag (late morning), der Nachmittag (afternoon), der Abend (evening), die Nacht (night) – 早、午前、午后、傍晚、夜

Mind the trap: “halb drei” is NOT “half past three” for English speakers — it means half to three, i.e., 2:30.

注意陷阱:对英语使用者来说 “halb drei” 不是三点半——它表示”到三点的中间”,也就是两点半。

7. Topic-Based High-Frequency Words | 高频话题词汇

CAIE IGCSE German favours specific themes: family, school, free time, food, health, travel, and environment. Build your own web around each theme.

CAIE IGCSE 德语考试偏爱特定主题:家庭、学校、空闲时间、食物、健康、旅行和环境。请为每个主题构建自己的词汇网。

Theme Key Words 中文释义
Family der Vater, die Mutter, die Eltern, das Geschwister, der Bruder, die Schwester, die Großeltern 父亲、母亲、父母、兄弟姐妹、兄弟、姐妹、祖父母
School die Schule, das Fach, die Note, die Hausaufgabe, die Prüfung, das Klassenzimmer 学校、科目、成绩、家庭作业、考试、教室
Free time das Hobby, spielen, Sport treiben, das Konzert, fernsehen, das Fussballspiel 爱好、玩、运动、音乐会、看电视、足球赛
Food das Obst, das Gemüse, das Brot, der Käse, das Wasser, das Frühstück, das Mittagessen 水果、蔬菜、面包、奶酪、水、早餐、午餐
Travel der Flughafen, der Bahnhof, die Fahrkarte, der Urlaub, das Hotel, die Reise 机场、火车站、车票、度假、酒店、旅行

Build a word web by drawing lines between related nouns and verbs. This activates the “spreading activation” memory effect much better than linear lists.

通过连线相关名词和动词构建词汇网。这激活”扩散激活”记忆效应,远比线性单词表有效。

8. Word Formation: Compounds & Cognates | 构词法:复合词与同源词

German loves compound nouns. The gender of a compound noun always follows its LAST component. This rule alone unlocks thousands of words.

德语偏爱复合名词。复合名词的词性永远由最后一个成分决定。仅这一条规则就能解锁数千个单词。

  • die Hausaufgabe = das Haus (house) + die Aufgabe (task) → last word “Aufgabe” is feminine → die – 家庭作业 = 房子 + 任务 → 最后词”Aufgabe”为阴性 → die
  • der Tagesablauf = der Tag (day) + der Ablauf (routine) → last word “Ablauf” is masculine → der – 日常作息 = 天 + 流程 → 最后词”Ablauf”为阳性 → der
  • das Fussballspiel = der Fussball (football) + das Spiel (game) → last word “Spiel” is neuter → das – 足球比赛 = 足球 + 比赛 → 最后词”Spiel”为中性 → das

Many German words share roots with English. Use this shortcut: das Haus (house), der Garten (garden), das Buch (book), die Butter (butter), schwimmen (swim), singen (sing), das Wasser (water).

许多德语词与英语同源。请利用这一捷径:das Haus(房子)、der Garten(花园)、das Buch(书)、die Butter(黄油)、schwimmen(游泳)、singen(唱歌)、das Wasser(水)。

When you meet an unfamiliar compound in the reading exam, split it into parts. Even a rough guess from the parts is better than staring at it.

阅读考试中遇到陌生复合词时,请拆成两部分。即使基于部分的大致猜测也好过盯着发呆。

9. Adjective Endings | 形容词词尾

Adjective endings depend on the article type: definite (der/die/das), indefinite (ein/eine), or no article. In the exam, you only need to recognise patterns, not produce perfect tables.

形容词词尾取决于冠词类型:定冠词(der/die/das)、不定冠词(ein/eine)或零冠词。考试中你只需要辨认规律,不需要完美写出表格。

After definite articles (the “weak” pattern): the ending is almost always -e or -en.

定冠词后(”弱变化”模式):词尾几乎总是 -e 或 -en。

  • Nominative: der nette Mann, die nette Frau, das nette Kind – 主格:那位友善的先生、女士、孩子
  • Accusative: den netten Mann – 宾格:那位友善的先生
  • Dative: dem netten Mann – 第三格:给那位友善的先生

After indefinite articles (the “mixed” pattern): nominative masculine takes -er, neuter -es, and all dative forms take -en.

不定冠词后(”混合变化”模式):主格阳性取 -er,中性取 -es,所有第三格取 -en。

  • ein netter Mann (masc. Nom) – 一位友善的先生
  • ein nettes Kind (neut. Nom) – 一个友善的孩子
  • einem netten Mann (Dative) – 给一位友善的先生

Do not panic about long tables. In the exam, circle the article and ask: is this nominative, accusative, or dative? Then choose -e/-er/-es for nominative/accusative neuter, or -en everywhere else.

别为长表格恐慌。考试中圈出冠词,问自己:这是主格、宾格还是第三格?主格和中性宾格选 -e/-er/-es,其他情况一律选 -en。

10. False Friends to Avoid | 易混假朋友

German and English are cousins, but some similar-looking words mean completely different things. A misused false friend can cost you marks in writing.

德语和英语是近亲,但一些形似词含义完全不同。写作中误用假朋友会丢分。

  • bekommen ≠ become; it means “to get/receive” (Ich bekomme ein Geschenk = I get a present) – “bekommen” 不是 “become(变成)”,而是 “得到/收到”
  • das Gift ≠ gift; it means “poison” – “das Gift” 不是礼物,而是”毒药”
  • die Note ≠ note; in school it means “grade/mark” – “die Note” 在学校里指”成绩/分数”
  • der Roman ≠ Roman; it means “novel” – “der Roman” 不是罗马人,而是”长篇小说”
  • bald ≠ bald; it means “soon” – “bald” 不是秃头,而是”很快”
  • also ≠ also; it means “so/consequently” – “also” 不是也,而是”所以/因此”
  • die Karte ≠ card only; it also means “map” or “ticket” – “die Karte” 除了卡片,还指”地图”或”票”

A powerful revision strategy: write each false friend on a card with a silly English sentence. For example, “The GIFT is POISON — don’t take it!” This exaggerates the contrast and sticks in memory.

一个强大的复习策略:把每个假朋友写在卡片上,配一个荒诞英语句。例如 “The GIFT is POISON — don’t take it!”(”礼物”是毒药——别拿!)夸张对比能牢牢印入记忆。

11. Rapid Memory Techniques | 快速记忆技巧

Your brain is not a spreadsheet. Use visual and auditory cues to build durable vocabulary memory.

你的大脑不是电子表格。请用视觉和听觉线索构建持久词汇记忆。

Keyword method: connect a German word to a similar-sounding English word with a silly image.

关键词法:把德语词连接到发音相似的英语词,配上搞笑画面。

  • “die Brille” sounds like “brilliant” → imagine brilliant glasses – “die Brille” 听起来像 “brilliant(出色)” → 想象一副闪亮的眼镜
  • “der Schrank” sounds like “shrink” → imagine clothes shrinking in a huge wardrobe – “der Schrank” 听起来像 “shrink(缩水)” → 想象衣服在大衣柜里缩小
  • “schlafen” sounds like “sleep” → nearly identical, just add “ch” – “schlafen” 听起来像 “sleep(睡觉)” → 几乎一致,只需加 “ch”

Chunking: learn small phrases, not single words. For example, instead of “die Aufgabe”, learn “Hausaufgaben machen” (do homework) and “die Aufgabe lösen” (solve the task).

组块化:学短短语而非单个词。例如不学 “die Aufgabe”,而学 “Hausaufgaben machen”(做作业)和 “die Aufgabe lösen”(解这道题)。

Spaced repetition: revise a word after 1 day, then 3 days, then 7 days, then 30 days. Flashcards apps put this on autopilot.

间隔复习:在1天、3天、7天、30天后复习一个词。闪卡应用可以自动完成这件事。

12. Final Exam-Day Checklist | 考前一日清单

In the final 24 hours before the exam, resist learning new vocabulary. Instead, review command words, gender endings, and your personal false-friend list.

考前最后24小时,不要学新词汇。相反,复习指令词、词性词尾和个人假朋友清单。

  • Read all instructions twice before starting each section – 开始每部分前把指令读两遍
  • Underline verbs in reading questions, because they reveal the task type – 在阅读题中划出动词,因为它们揭示任务类型
  • Check if a preposition demands Accusative or Dative before choosing the adjective ending – 选择形容词词尾前先确认介词需要第四格还是第三格
  • Write the date and time in full German format in your writing task to show range – 写作任务中用完整德语格式写日期和时间,以展示表达能力
  • Keep some “safe phrases” ready for spoken exam that you know 100% are correct – 为口语考试准备几个100%确定的”安全短语”

Trust your preparation. These memory systems are designed to be stress-proof because they attach words to strong mental images.

相信你的准备。这些记忆系统旨在抗压,因为单词已附着在强烈心理画面上。
