Using V₀ = £290 billion and V₁ = £340 billion, we get (340 − 290) / 290 × 100% ≈ 17.2%. This means the value of UK exports to the EU rose by 17.2% over the period. However, inflation must be considered; nominal increases may reflect price rises rather than real growth.
