The Edexcel GCSE Design & Technology (9-1) specification is designed to prepare students to participate confidently and successfully in an increasingly technological world. 1. Qualification Framework and Component Structure | 资格框架与考试构成

The qualification is made up of two components. Component 1 is a written examination worth 50% of the total GCSE, and Component 2 is a non-examined assessment (NEA) worth the remaining 50%. In Edexcel, the written paper is 1 hour 45 minutes and totals 100 marks. The NEA requires students to produce a design-and-make portfolio and prototype in response to a contextual challenge set by the exam board.
