📚 Mastering German A2: Key Difficulties & Breakthrough Strategies | 德语A2重难点突破
The CIE A-Level German syllabus expects students at A2 level to move beyond simple sentence construction and into more complex grammar, text analysis and writing. Despite this, many learners still stumble on word order, adjective endings and passive voice. This article identifies the most common A2-level difficulties and provides clear, exam-focused strategies to help you overcome them.
CIE A-Level 德语教学大纲要求 A2 阶段的学生超越简单句型,进入更复杂的语法结构、文本分析和写作表达。然而,许多学习者仍在语序、形容词词尾、被动态等核心难点上出现失误。本文梳理了 A2 阶段最常见的难点,并提供清晰、贴近考试要求的突破策略,帮助你高效备考。
1. Verb Positions in Main and Subordinate Clauses | 主句与从句中的动词位置
German word order is a frequent source of confusion. In a main clause, the conjugated verb is always in the second position. In a subordinate clause, the conjugated verb is sent to the end. A2-level writing often mixes these two systems incorrectly, especially after conjunctions like “weil”, “dass” and “obwohl”.
德语的语序经常让学习者感到困惑。在主句中,变位动词永远处于第二位;在从句中,变位动词则被移到最后。A2 写作中,尤其在“weil”“dass”“obwohl”等连词之后,两种语序常被混淆使用。
Consider this pair:
Main clause: Ich lerne Deutsch, weil ich in Berlin studieren will.
Subordinate clause: Ich will in Berlin studieren, weil Deutsch wichtig ist.
In the first example, “will” appears at the end of the subordinate clause. In the second, “ist” appears at the end. Practice by underlining the verb in every clause you write and check its position before moving on.
请看这组对比:
主句:Ich lerne Deutsch, weil ich in Berlin studieren will.
从句:Ich will in Berlin studieren, weil Deutsch wichtig ist.
在第一个例子中,“will”位于从句末尾;在第二个例子中,“ist”位于末尾。每次写完句子,先划出每个分句中的变位动词,养成检查位置的习惯,再继续下一个句子。
2. The Tricky Wechselpräpositionen | 易混淆的双向介词
The “Wechselpräpositionen” are prepositions that can take either the dative or the accusative case. They are crucial at A2 level. The dative is used for location (wo?) and the accusative for direction (wohin?).
所谓“双向介词”是指那些既能支配第三格、又能支配第四格的介词,它们是 A2 阶段的核心考点。静态位置用第三格(wo?),动态方向用第四格(wohin?)。
- Dative (location): Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch. – The book is lying on the table.
- Accusative (direction): Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch. – I put the book onto the table.
- Dativ(静态位置): Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch. – 书平放在桌子上。
- Akkusativ(动态方向): Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch. – 我把书放到桌子上。
The key question to ask yourself is: “does the sentence describe a change of place or not?” If there is movement from one place to another, choose the accusative. If the object stays in the same place, choose the dative.
判断的关键是问自己:这个句子描述的是“位置变化”还是“静止状态”?如果是从一个地方到另一个地方的移动,就用第四格;如果物体保持在原处,就用第三格。
3. Adjective Endings Without Fear | 突破形容词词尾
German adjective endings depend on three things: gender, case and article type. This sounds overwhelming, but at A2 level you only need to master three patterns: after definite articles, after indefinite articles, and after no article.
德语形容词词尾由三个因素决定:名词性数、格以及冠词类型。听起来很复杂,但在 A2 阶段只需掌握三类模式:定冠词后、不定冠词后以及无冠词后。
| Case / Gender | Masculine | Neuter | Feminine | Plural |
| Nominative (def. article) | der neue Tisch | das neue Buch | die neue Lampe | die neuen Bücher |
| Accusative (def. article) | den neuen Tisch | das neue Buch | die neue Lampe | die neuen Bücher |
| Dative (def. article) | dem neuen Tisch | dem neuen Buch | der neuen Lampe | den neuen Büchern |
Notice that after definite articles, the adjective ending is mostly “-e” or “-en”. After an indefinite article, you may see more variety such as “ein neuer Tisch”, “ein neues Buch”, “eine neue Lampe”. Try to memorise a few anchor phrases and reuse them in your own writing.
注意:在定冠词之后,形容词词尾大多是“-e”或“-en”;在不定冠词之后,词尾变化更多,例如“ein neuer Tisch”“ein neues Buch”“eine neue Lampe”。尝试记住几个典型短语,并在写作中重复使用。
4. Relativpronomen: Linking Ideas Smoothly | 关系代词:让表达更流畅
Relative clauses appear frequently in A2 reading and are equally important in writing. The relative pronoun is often identical to the definite article, but the dative plural is special: “denen”.
关系从句在 A2 阅读理解中频繁出现,在写作中同样重要。关系代词通常与定冠词形式相同,但第三格复数是特殊的“denen”。
- Nominative: Das ist der Mann, der das Auto gekauft hat. – This is the man who bought the car.
- Accusative: Das ist der Film, den ich gesehen habe. – This is the film that I saw.
- Dative: Das ist der Kollege, dem ich geholfen habe. – This is the colleague whom I helped.
- Genitive: Das ist der Schriftsteller, dessen Bücher weltweit bekannt sind. – This is the writer whose books are famous worldwide.
Tip: in the exam, first identify whether the relative pronoun functions as the subject or object in its own clause. Then decide the gender by looking at the noun it refers to.
应试提示:先判断关系代词在它所在的从句中充当主语还是宾语,然后通过它所指的名词判断性和数,最后再确定正确形式。
5. Passive Voice: From Active to Passive | 被动态转换技巧
At A2 level, students must recognise and use the passive voice in present, simple past and with modal verbs. The standard passive is formed with “werden” + Partizip II. The agent is introduced by “von” (for people) or “durch” (for means/causes).
A2 阶段要求学生能够识别并使用现在时、过去时以及带情态动词的被动态。标准被动态由“werden”加第二分词构成。施动者用“von”(指人)或“durch”(指手段/原因)引出。
For example: “Der Hund beißt den Mann” becomes “Der Mann wird von dem Hund gebissen.”
例如:主动句“Der Hund beißt den Mann”变为被动句“Der Mann wird von dem Hund gebissen”。
Another important form for A2 is the passive with modal verbs: “Das Auto muss repariert werden.” Notice that both the modal verb and “werden” appear in a specific order.
A2 另一个重要形式是带情态动词的被动态:“Das Auto muss repariert werden.”请注意,情态动词与“werden”的位置关系。
When you convert an active sentence to passive, move the accusative object to subject position, use “werden” in the correct tense, and put the Partizip II at the end. Start with present tense, then practise with simple past (“wurde”).
把主动句变为被动句时,将原来的第四格宾语变为主语,在正确时态下使用“werden”,并将第二分词置于句末。先从现在时开始练习,再过渡到过去时(“wurde”)。
6. Konjunktiv II: Expressing Possibility and Politeness | 第二虚拟式:表达可能性和礼貌
Konjunktiv II is essential for polite requests and unreal conditions. A2 students should know both the simple form (hätte, wäre, könnte) and the “würde + Infinitiv” construction.
第二虚拟式是表达礼貌请求和非现实条件的必备语法点。A2 学生需要熟悉简单形式(hätte、wäre、könnte)以及“würde + 不定式”的替代结构。
Polite questions: Könntest du mir helfen? – Could you help me? / Ich hätte gern ein Glas Wasser. – I would like a glass of water.
未完成的形式: 在表示礼貌用语时:“Könntest du mir helfen?(你能帮我吗?)”;“Ich hätte gern ein Glas Wasser.(我想要一杯水。)”
Unreal conditions: Wenn ich mehr Zeit hätte, würde ich mehr Deutsch üben. – If I had more time, I would practise more German.
非现实条件: “Wenn ich mehr Zeit hätte, würde ich mehr Deutsch üben.(如果我有更多时间,我会多练习德语。)”
In the exam, try to use at least one Konjunktiv II expression in your writing. It automatically raises the grammatical range of your response.
在考试写作中,尽量使用至少一个第二虚拟式表达。这样能明显体现出语法多样性,有助提升得分。
7. Genitive Prepositions and Prepositional Phrases | 第二格介词与介词短语
At A2 level you are expected to recognise and understand genitive prepositions such as “wegen” (because of), “trotz” (despite), “während” (during), “statt” (instead of), “außerhalb” and “innerhalb”.
A2 阶段要求掌握第二格介词,如“wegen(因为)”、“trotz(尽管)”、“während(在……期间)”、“statt(代替)”、“außerhalb(在……之外)”和“innerhalb(在……之内)”。
- Wegen des Wetters bleiben wir zu Hause. – Because of the weather we stay at home.
- Trotz der Probleme hat sie die Prüfung bestanden. – Despite the problems she passed the exam.
- Während des Films darf man nicht sprechen. – During the film one may not speak.
Note that the masculine and neuter noun after these prepositions often takes an extra “-s” or “-es” ending: “des Wetters”, “des Films”. Many students forget this, so keep a special watch on noun endings.
注意,阳性或中性名词在第二格介词后常需加词尾“-s”或“-es”,例如“des Wetters”“des Films”。很多学生容易忘记这一点,因此要格外留意名词词尾。
8. Da-Compounds and Wo-Compounds | 指示代副词与疑问代副词
A2 learners often struggle with “damit”, “darauf”, “dafür”, “womit”, “worauf”, “wofür”. These compounds replace “preposition + pronoun” structures and are very common in formal and written German.
A2 学习者常对“damit”“darauf”“dafür”“womit”“worauf”“wofür”这类代副词感到困惑。它们用来代替“介词 + 代词”的结构,在书面语和正式表达中出现频率极高。
- Ich interessiere mich für Musik. → Ich interessiere mich dafür. – I am interested in music. → I am interested in it.
- Wofür interessierst du dich? – What are you interested in?
- Er wartet auf den Bus. → Er wartet darauf. – He waits for the bus. → He waits for it.
If the preposition begins with a vowel, add an “r” before it: “auf” becomes “darauf”, “an” becomes “daran”. If the object is a person, do not use a da-compound; instead use a normal pronoun: “Ich warte auf dich.”
如果介词以元音开头,需要在其中插入“r”:例如“auf”变为“darauf”,“an”变为“daran”。如果宾语是人,则不能使用代副词,而应使用普通代词:例如“Ich warte auf dich.”
9. Text Cohesion: Conjunctions and Adverbials | 文本衔接:连词与副词
To produce coherent essays, A2 candidates need a wider range of linking words. Beyond “und”, “aber” and “weil”, you should use adverbs such as “zunächst” (firstly), “danach” (afterwards), “deshalb” (therefore), “trotzdem” (nevertheless), and “außerdem” (furthermore).
为了写出连贯的文章,A2 考生需要掌握更多连接词。除了“und”“aber”“weil”之外,还应该使用“zunächst(首先)”“danach(之后)”“deshalb(因此)”“trotzdem(尽管如此)”“außerdem(此外)”等副词。
Remember that some connectors change word order. “Deshalb” causes the verb in a main clause to appear directly after it: “Deshalb ist es wichtig.” Learn these by heart and use them consistently in essays.
请注意,部分连接副词会改变语序。“deshalb”作为位于句首的副词引导主句时,动词要紧跟其后,如“Deshalb ist es wichtig.”。请熟记这些规律,并在写作中有意识地使用。
10. Exam Strategy: Listening, Reading and Writing | 应试策略:听力、阅读与写作
A2 German tests your ability to understand authentic texts and produce structured responses. In listening tasks, read the questions carefully before the audio starts, identify keywords and draw simple symbols or notes as you listen.
A2 德语考试考查学生理解真实文本并写出结构清晰回答的能力。在听力任务中,要在音频开始前仔细审题,圈出关键词,听的过程中用简单符号快速记录信息。
For reading tasks, do not translate every word. Instead, infer meaning from context. Pay attention to signals like “nicht nur … sondern auch”, “obwohl” and “je … desto”.
在阅读任务中,不要逐词翻译,而要结合上下文推断语义。特别注意“nicht nur … sondern auch”“obwohl”“je … desto”等常见信号词。
For writing, always make a short plan. Introduce the topic, present two or three arguments, and write a clear conclusion. Aim to use at least one passive sentence, one relative clause and one Konjunktiv II form.
写作部分必须制定简要提纲:引入话题、提出两到三个论点、写出明确结论。每篇文章至少使用一个被动态、一个关系从句和一个第二虚拟式。
Finally, review your own work using a checklist: are the verb positions correct? Is the noun gender right? Are the adjective endings consistent? This meta-level checking habit will save many marks.
最后,请用自查清单审视自己的作文:动词位置是否正确?名词阴阳中是否有误?形容词词尾是否一致?这种元认知层面的检查习惯可以帮你保住不少分数。
