1. The Photoelectric Effect | 光电效应
The photoelectric effect is the emission of electrons from a metal surface when light of a sufficiently high frequency shines on it. In the photon model, light arrives in discrete packets of energy E = hf, where h is Planck’s constant and f is the frequency. Each electron absorbs one photon, so the energy transfer is instantaneous.

For an electron to escape, the photon energy must be at least the work function φ of the metal. Any excess energy becomes kinetic energy of the emitted electron.

Increasing intensity only increases the number of photoelectrons, not their maximum kinetic energy.
