1. The Kinetic Particle Model | 动力学微粒模型

The kinetic particle model states that all matter is composed of extremely small particles in continuous random motion. The temperature of a substance is a measure of the average kinetic energy of its particles.

Brownian motion and diffusion provide strong evidence that particles are constantly moving. In a gas, a coloured gas such as bromine spreads out because its particles move randomly into the empty spaces between other gas particles.

Heating a substance increases the kinetic energy of its particles. Melting and boiling are physical changes because the chemical identity of the substance is unchanged.
