1. Why Spanish? A World Language | 为什么要学西班牙语?一门世界语言

Spanish is the mother tongue of over 500 million people, making it the second most spoken language by native speakers. It is an official language in 21 countries across Europe, the Americas and Africa. Learning Spanish opens doors to rich cultures, music, cinema and friendships around the globe.

西班牙语是全球超过五亿人的母语,按母语人数计算是世界第二大语言。它在欧洲、美洲和非洲的 21 个国家是官方语言。学习西班牙语可以为你打开通往丰富多彩的文化、音乐、电影和各地友谊的大门。

2. Getting Started: The Spanish Alphabet & Pronunciation | 入门:西班牙语字母表与发音

The Spanish alphabet has 27 letters: the 26 letters you know from English plus ‘ñ’. Although ‘ll’ and ‘rr’ used to be treated as separate letters, today only ‘ñ’ is officially distinct. Vowels (a, e, i, o, u) each have only one pure sound, which makes spelling much easier than in English. For example, ‘a’ always sounds like the ‘a’ in ‘father’, and ‘e’ like the ‘e’ in ‘bed’.

西班牙语有 27 个字母:包括英语熟悉的 26 个字母再加一个 “ñ”。虽然 “ll” 和 “rr” 过去被认作独立字母,但现在只有 “ñ” 是正式字母。元音 a、e、i、o、u 每个都只有一种纯净发音,这让拼写比英语简单得多。例如,”a” 的发音始终像 “father” 中的 “a”,”e” 则像 “bed” 中的 “e”。

The letter ‘h’ is always silent, so “hola” is pronounced “ola”. The letter ‘j’ sounds like a strong ‘h’ in English, as in “jamón”. ‘Ñ’ is pronounced like the ‘ny’ in ‘canyon’, as in “mañana”. Paying attention to these patterns from the start will boost your speaking confidence.

字母 “h” 总是不发音,因此 “hola” 读作 “ola”。字母 “j” 发英语中强烈的 “h” 音,比如 “jamón”。 “ñ” 的发音类似 “canyon” 中的 “ny”,如 “mañana”。从一开始就注意这些发音规律,能迅速提升你的口语信心。

3. Greetings & Basic Courtesy | 问候与基本礼节

Greetings are the first building blocks. The simplest one is “Hola” (Hello). Depending on the time of day, you can say “Buenos días” (Good morning), “Buenas tardes” (Good afternoon) and “Buenas noches” (Good evening/night). To ask how someone is, use “¿Cómo estás?” (How are you?) and reply with “Bien, gracias” (Fine, thanks) or “Muy bien” (Very well).

问候是最基本的交流单元。最简单的就是 “Hola”(你好)。根据一天中的时间,可以说 “Buenos días”(早上好)、”Buenas tardes”(下午好)和 “Buenas noches”(晚上好 / 晚安)。想问候对方,可以问 “¿Cómo estás?”(你好吗?),然后回答 “Bien, gracias”(很好,谢谢)或 “Muy bien”(非常好)。

It is polite to add “por favor” (please) and “gracias” (thank you). If you need to apologise, say “Lo siento”. When parting, you can use “Adiós” (Goodbye) or the more casual “Hasta luego” (See you later). Practice these aloud using the pronunciation tips from the previous section.

加上 “por favor”(请)和 “gracias”(谢谢)会显得很有礼貌。若需要道歉,可以说 “Lo siento”。告别时,可以用 “Adiós”(再见)或更随意的 “Hasta luego”(回头见)。请运用上一节的发音技巧大声练习这些表达。

4. Introducing Yourself: Name, Age & Nationality | 自我介绍:姓名、年龄与国籍

To ask someone’s name, use “¿Cómo te llamas?” (What is your name?). The reply is “Me llamo…” (My name is…), for example “Me llamo Alex”. To ask about age, say “¿Cuántos años tienes?” (How old are you?) and answer with “Tengo … años” (I am … years old).

询问对方姓名时,说 “¿Cómo te llamas?”(你叫什么名字?)。回答是 “Me llamo…”(我叫……),例如 “Me llamo Alex”。问年龄时用 “¿Cuántos años tienes?”(你多大了?),回答 “Tengo … años”(我……岁了)。

When stating your nationality, you can say “Soy inglés” (I am English, male) or “Soy inglesa” (I am English, female). Notice how the adjective changes for gender. Similarly, “Soy español / española” for Spanish. This introduces the important idea that many words in Spanish have masculine and feminine forms.

表达国籍时,可以说 “Soy inglés”(我是英国人,男性)或 “Soy inglesa”(我是英国人,女性)。注意形容词的阴阳性变化。同样,”Soy español / española” 表示西班牙人。这带出了一个重要概念:西班牙语许多词汇有阳性和阴性形式。

5. Numbers 0–31 and Colours | 数字 0–31 和颜色

Numbers are essential for giving your age, saying the date and talking about quantities. Start with 0–15, then build to 31. Colours help you describe objects and they follow the noun they modify.

数字对于表达年龄、日期和数量至关重要。先从 0–15 开始,然后延伸到 31。颜色可以帮助描述物品,并且通常跟在名词后面。

In Spanish, colours are often placed after the noun, e.g., “el libro rojo” (the red book). Notice that “rojo” changes to “roja” when describing a feminine noun, which we will explore in the gender section.

西班牙语中颜色通常放在名词后面,例如 “el libro rojo”(红色的书)。注意 “rojo” 在修饰阴性名词时会变成 “roja”,我们将在名词的性一节中探讨。

6. The Verb ‘Ser’ – To Be (Permanent) | 动词 ‘Ser’ — 是(表示永久属性)

Spanish has two verbs for ‘to be’: “ser” and “estar”. In Year 7, we focus on “ser”, which is used for permanent characteristics such as identity, origin, and physical descriptions. Here is the conjugation:

西班牙语有两个表示“是”的动词:”ser” 和 “estar”。在 Year 7 阶段,我们主要学习 “ser”,它用于身份、来源和外貌描述等永久特征。下面是它的变位:
