📚 Year 8 CCEA Chinese: Quick Reference Guide to Formulas and Theorems | Year 8 CCEA 中文:公式定理速查手册
This handbook treats Chinese grammar patterns as clear, repeatable formulas—just like the ones you use in maths. Each “theorem” is a rule you can apply again and again to build correct sentences. For Year 8 students following the CCEA curriculum, mastering these structures will boost your confidence in speaking, reading and writing. Keep this reference close and treat every sentence like a puzzle that fits a formula.
本手册将中文语法模式视为清晰、可重复的公式——就像你在数学中使用的公式一样。每条“定理”都是你可以反复运用的规则,用来构建正确的句子。对于学习 CCEA 课程的八年级学生来说,掌握这些结构将增强你说、读、写的信心。把这份速查手册放在手边,把每个句子都当作符合公式的拼图吧。
1. The Basic Sentence Formula (SVO) | 基本句式(主谓宾)
The core structure of a Chinese declarative sentence is Subject + Verb + Object. This mirrors English word order, making it the easiest formula to start with.
中文陈述句的核心结构是主语 + 动词 + 宾语。这与英语的语序相同,是最容易上手的公式。
Subject + Verb + Object
主语 + 动词 + 宾语
- 我 吃 苹果。 (I eat an apple.)
- 她 喜欢 中文。 (She likes Chinese.)
- 我们 看 电影。 (We watch a movie.)
The subject is placed first, the verb immediately follows, and the object comes last. There is no conjugation of verbs for person or number—the verb stays the same regardless of the subject.
主语放在句首,动词紧接其后,宾语在最后。动词不会因为人称或数量而变化——无论主语是什么,动词形式保持不变。
2. Time‑When Position Theorem | 时间状语位置定理
In Chinese, time expressions indicating when an action takes place can appear either at the very beginning of the sentence or directly after the subject. They never go at the end, unlike in English.
在中文里,表示动作发生时间的词语要么放在句子最前面,要么紧接在主语的后面。与英语不同,时间词永远不会放在句尾。
Time + Subject + Verb + Object or Subject + Time + Verb + Object
时间 + 主语 + 动词 + 宾语 或 主语 + 时间 + 动词 + 宾语
- 昨天 我 去 了 图书馆。 (Yesterday I went to the library.)
- 我 今天 早上 喝 了 咖啡。 (I drank coffee this morning.)
Remember: English often places time at the end (‘I went to the library yesterday’), but Chinese requires it earlier in the sentence.
记住:英语常把时间放在句尾(“I went to the library yesterday”),但中文要求时间词放在句子靠前的位置。
3. Place‑Where Positioning Theorem | 地点状语位置定理
Expressions that tell where an action happens are placed before the verb, typically following the subject or time phrase. This differs from English, where location often follows the verb.
表示动作发生地点的词语放在动词之前,通常在主语或时间词之后。这与英语不同,英语的地点状语常跟在动词后面。
Subject + (Time) + Place + Verb + Object
主语 + (时间) + 地点 + 动词 + 宾语
- 我 在 学校 学习 中文。 (I study Chinese at school.)
- 她 下午 在 公园 跑步。 (She runs in the park in the afternoon.)
Notice that ‘在学校’ (at school) and ‘在公园’ (in the park) sit directly before the main verb. Treat the pattern as ‘at somewhere do something’.
注意,“在学校”和“在公园”直接放在主要动词前面。把这个模式视为“在某地做某事”。
4. The Negation Formula (不 / 没) | 否定公式(不 / 没)
Chinese uses two main negation words: 不 for present/future actions and general states, and 没 for past actions or to negate the verb ‘有’ (to have). Place the negative directly before the verb.
中文使用两个主要的否定词:不用于现在/将来的动作和一般状态,没用于过去的动作或否定动词“有”。将否定词直接放在动词前面。
Subject + 不/没 + Verb (+ Object)
主语 + 不/没 + 动词(+ 宾语)
- 我 不 喜欢 咖啡。 (I don’t like coffee.) – present state
- 他 昨天 没 来 学校。 (He didn’t come to school yesterday.) – past action
- 我 没 有 弟弟。 (I don’t have a younger brother.) – negating 有 always uses 没
Never use 不 to negate a completed action in the past; that is the job of 没. The formula reminds you to choose the correct negative particle based on time and context.
绝不要用“不”来否定过去的已完成动作;那该用“没”。公式提醒你根据时间和语境选择正确的否定词。
5. The Yes/No Question with 吗 Formula | “吗”字是非问句公式
The easiest way to turn a statement into a yes/no question is to add the particle 吗 at the very end of the sentence. This formula requires no change in word order.
把陈述句变成是非问句最简单的方法,是在句子末尾加上助词“吗”。这个公式不需要改变语序。
Statement + 吗 ?
陈述句 + 吗 ?
- 你 是 学生 吗? (Are you a student?)
- 她 喜欢 熊猫 吗? (Does she like pandas?)
- 今天 冷 吗? (Is it cold today?)
Never use 吗 when the sentence already contains a question word like 什么 or 谁. In those cases, 吗 is not needed— the other question word does the job.
当句子已经含有像“什么”或“谁”这样的疑问词时,就不要再用“吗”。在这些情况下,“吗”不需要——其他疑问词已经起到提问的作用。
6. Verb-不-Verb and A-Not-A Question Theorem | 正反问句定理(V不V / Adj不Adj)
Another common way to ask a yes/no question is to repeat the verb (or adjective) with 不 in the middle, creating an alternative structure. It is equivalent to “do or do not” in English.
另一种常见的问是非的方式是重复动词(或形容词),中间插入“不”,形成选择结构。这相当于英语的“do or do not”。
Subject + Verb + 不 + Verb (+ Object) ?
主语 + 动词 + 不 + 动词(+ 宾语)?
- 你 去 不 去? (Are you going or not?)
- 这 个 好 不 好? (Is this good or not?)
- 你 喜欢 不 喜欢 中文? (Do you like Chinese or not?)
If the verb is disyllabic (e.g. 喜欢), you can repeat only the first syllable: 喜不喜欢. This compressed form is very common in spoken Chinese.
如果动词是双音节(例如“喜欢”),可以只重复第一个字:喜不喜欢。这种省略形式在口语中非常常见。
7. The 把‑Construction Formula | “把”字句公式
The 把 sentence shifts the object before the verb to emphasise what happens to the object. The formula always follows: Subject + 把 + Object + Verb + complement or result.
“把”字句把宾语提到动词之前,强调宾语被如何处理。公式总是:主语 + 把 + 宾语 + 动词 + 补语或结果。
Subject + 把 + Object + Verb + Result/Complement
主语 + 把 + 宾语 + 动词 + 结果/补语
- 我 把 作业 做完 了。 (I finished the homework.)
- 请 把 门 打开。 (Please open the door.)
- 她 把 书 放在 桌上。 (She put the book on the table.)
Remember that 把 sentences never end with a bare verb. There must be a result, a change of state, or a direction complement.
记住,“把”字句绝不能以光杆动词结尾。必须有结果、状态变化或趋向补语。
8. The 被‑Construction Theorem | “被”字句定理
The 被 structure is the passive voice in Chinese. It is used to show that the subject receives the action. The doer of the action can be omitted.
“被”字结构是中文的被动语态,用来表示主语承受了动作。动作的发出者可以省略。
Receiver + 被 (+ Doer) + Verb + Complement
受事 + 被(+ 施事)+ 动词 + 补语
- 蛋糕 被 我 吃 了。 (The cake was eaten by me.)
- 窗户 被 打破 了。 (The window was broken.)
- 他 被 老师 批评 了。 (He was criticised by the teacher.)
When the doer is unknown or unimportant, simply place 被 directly before the verb. Note that 被 sentences often carry a negative or unfortunate tone, though not always.
当施事者未知或不重要时,直接把“被”放在动词前面。注意,“被”字句常常带有消极或不愉快的语气,但也并非总是如此。
9. The Aspect Markers Theorem (了, 过, 着) | 时态标记定理(了、过、着)
Chinese verbs do not conjugate, but aspect particles are attached after the verb to indicate completion, experience, or ongoing state. Think of them as time‑marking formulas.
中文动词没有变形,但会在动词后附加动态助词来表示完成、经历或持续的状态。把它们视为时间标记公式。
| Particle | Meaning | Formula | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| 了 | completed action | V + 了 | 我 吃 了 饭。 (I ate a meal.) |
| 过 | past experience | V + 过 | 我 去 过 北京。 (I have been to Beijing.) |
| 着 | continuous state | V + 着 | 门 开 着。 (The door is open.) |
Remember that 了 is not a past‑tense marker in the English sense. It signals completion within whatever time frame the sentence sets. Use 过 to emphasise the experience of having done something at least once. Use 着 to describe an ongoing state, much like the English ‘‑ing’ for states.
记住,了并不是英语意义上的过去时标记。它表示在句子设定的时间框架内动作的完成。用“过”强调至少有过一次做某事的经历。用“着”描述持续的状态,类似于英语中状态的“‑ing”形式。
10. Comparative Formula with 比 | “比”字比较公式
The most common comparative pattern uses 比 to compare two things. The formula places the quality or adjective after the standard of comparison.
最常用的比较结构使用“比”来比较两个事物。这个公式将性质或形容词放在比较标准之后。
A + 比 + B + Adjective
A + 比 + B + 形容词
- 我 比 他 高。 (I am taller than him.)
- 今天 比 昨天 冷。 (Today is colder than yesterday.)
- 中文 比 法文 难 吗? (Is Chinese harder than French?)
To express “much more”, add ~得多 after the adjective: 快得多 (much faster). To say “a little more”, use 一点儿: 贵一点儿 (a bit more expensive).
要表达“much more”,在形容词后加~得多:快得多。要表达“a little more”,用一点儿:贵一点儿。
11. The 是…的 Emphasis Theorem | “是……的”强调定理
This frame is used to emphasise a detail about a past event—time, place, manner, or agent. It treats the past as known and focuses on a specific piece of information.
这个框架用于强调过去事件中的某个细节——时间、地点、方式或施动者。它把过去视为已知,重点突出某一条具体信息。
Subject + 是 + detail + Verb + 的 (+ Object)
主语 + 是 + 细节 + 动词 + 的(+ 宾语)
- 我 是 昨天 到 的。 (It was yesterday that I arrived.)
- 你 是 怎么 来 的? (How did you come? – emphasis on manner)
- 这 本 书 是 谁 写 的? (Who wrote this book?)
Notice that 的 often comes at the end of the sentence. If an object is present, it can go before or after 的.
注意,“的”经常出现在句尾。如果有宾语,它可以放在“的”之前或之后。
12. Measure Word Pairing Formula | 量词搭配公式
Every noun in Chinese typically requires a specific measure word (classifier) when it appears with a number or a demonstrative like 这/那. Learning these pairings is like memorising gender in European languages—repetition is key.
中文的每个名词在与数字或指示词(如这/那)搭配时,通常需要一个特定的量词。记牢这些搭配就像学习欧洲语言中名词的性——关键在于反复练习。
Number/Demonstrative + Measure Word + Noun
数词/指示词 + 量词 + 名词
- 一 个 人 (one person) – 个 is the general measure word
- 两 本 书 (two books) – 本 for bound items
- 一 张 纸 (a piece of paper) – 张 for flat surfaces
- 三 只 猫 (three cats) – 只 for animals
- 一 条 鱼 (one fish) – 条 for long, flexible things
When unsure, use 个 as a fallback—it is universally understood, though not always precise. Over time, aim to replace 个 with the correct measure word for each noun.
不确定时,用“个”作为备用——它通用,尽管不太精确。随着学习深入,试着用正确的量词替代“个”。
