This quick reference guide brings together the essential ‘formulas’ for Year 8 CCEA French – the core rules, structures and patterns that act like theorems for building sentences and expressing meaning. Use it to revise key vocabulary, grammar points and communication strategies in a clear, bilingual format.

本速查手册汇集了 Year 8 CCEA 法语的核心”公式”——即构成句子和表达意义的基本规则、结构和模式,如同定理一般重要。使用本手册可帮助你以清晰的双语形式复习关键词汇、语法要点和交际策略。

1. The Verb Theorem: être (to be) | 动词公式:être(是)

être is the most fundamental verb in French. Its present-tense forms act as the foundation for introducing yourself, describing people and things, and for forming the past tense later on.

être 是法语中最基础的动词。其现在时形式是介绍自己、描述人和事物以及日后构成过去时态的基础。

  • je suis (I am / 我是)
  • tu es (you are, singular informal / 你是,单数非正式)
  • il/elle/on est (he/she/one is / 他/她/人们是)
  • nous sommes (we are / 我们是)
  • vous êtes (you are, plural or formal / 你们/您是)
  • ils/elles sont (they are, masculine/feminine / 他们/她们是)

Key ‘theorem’: The subject and the verb must always agree. For example, ‘Je suis anglais’ (I am English) but ‘Elles sont françaises’ (They are French).

关键”定理”:主语和动词必须始终保持一致。例如,”Je suis anglais”(我是英国人)与”Elles sont françaises”(她们是法国人)的动词形式不同。

2. The Verb Theorem: avoir (to have) | 动词公式:avoir(有)

avoir is the second pillar. It expresses possession, age, and certain sensations. It also serves as an auxiliary verb for the perfect tense of most verbs.

avoir 是第二根支柱。它表示拥有、年龄和某些感觉,同时也作为大多数动词完成时的助动词。

  • j’ai (I have / 我有)
  • tu as (you have / 你有)
  • il/elle/on a (he/she/one has / 他/她/人们有)
  • nous avons (we have / 我们有)
  • vous avez (you have, plural/formal / 你们/您有)
  • ils/elles ont (they have / 他们/她们有)

Important formula: to express age, use ‘avoir + number + ans’ – J’ai douze ans (I am 12 years old). Never use être for age.

重要公式:表达年龄时,使用 “avoir + 数字 + ans” —— J’ai douze ans(我12岁)。千万不要用 être 来表示年龄。

3. Regular -er Verb Theorem: The Present Tense | 规则 -er 动词公式:现在时

About 80% of French verbs end in -er in the infinitive. Their conjugation follows a repeatable pattern, like a mathematical formula. Take the stem (remove -er) and add the endings.

约80%的法语动词不定式以 -er 结尾。它们的变位遵循一个可重复的模式,如同数学公式。取词干(去掉 -er),然后加上词尾。

parler (to speak) → stem parl-

Subject Ending Example
je -e je parle
tu -es tu parles
il/elle/on -e il parle
nous -ons nous parlons
vous -ez vous parlez
ils/elles -ent ils parlent

The same theorem applies to aimer, habiter, jouer, écouter, etc. Just replace the stem.

同样的定理适用于 aimer(喜欢)、habiter(居住)、jouer(玩)、écouter(听)等动词。只需替换词干即可。

4. The Article Theorem: Definite and Indefinite | 冠词公式:定冠词和不定冠词

Every French noun needs an article. The choice between le, la, l’, les (definite) and un, une, des (indefinite) follows strict rules, much like determining whether a noun is specific or general.

每个法语名词都需要冠词。选择 le, la, l’, les(定冠词)还是 un, une, des(不定冠词)须遵循严格的规则,类似于判断名词是特指还是泛指。

  • Definite (the): le (masc. sing.), la (fem. sing.), l’ (before vowel/h), les (plural)
  • Indefinite (a/an/some): un (masc.), une (fem.), des (plural)

Key theorem: use the indefinite article when mentioning something for the first time or when it is not specific; use the definite article for known or specific items. Example: ‘J’ai un chien. Le chien est noir.’ (I have a dog. The dog is black.)

关键定理:首次提到某物或非特指时用不定冠词;已知或特指事物用定冠词。例如:”J’ai un chien. Le chien est noir.”(我有一条狗。这只狗是黑色的。)

5. Adjective Agreement Theorem | 形容词性数配合公式

In French, adjectives change their form according to the gender (masculine/feminine) and number (singular/plural) of the noun they describe. This ‘agreement theorem’ is non-negotiable.

法语中,形容词的形式要根据所修饰名词的性(阳性/阴性)和数(单数/复数)进行变化。这条”配合公式”是必须遵守的。

Form Masculine Feminine Masculine Plural Feminine Plural
Regular grand grande grands grandes
Ends in -e triste triste tristes tristes
Ends in -x change heureux heureuse heureux heureuses

Position theorem: Most adjectives come after the noun (un livre intéressant – an interesting book). A few common adjectives come before: beau, bon, grand, petit, jeune, vieux, joli. Memorise the BAGS rule (Beauty, Age, Goodness, Size).

位置公式:大多数形容词置于名词之后(un livre intéressant – 一本有趣的书)。少数常用形容词置于名词之前:beau(美丽的)、bon(好的)、grand(大的)、petit(小的)、jeune(年轻的)、vieux(老的)、joli(漂亮的)。记住 BAGS 规则(美、龄、好、量)。

6. The Possessive ‘Formula’: Mon, Ma, Mes | 物主形容词公式:我的

Possessive adjectives agree with the noun they qualify, not with the owner. This is a classic formula error: ‘ma amie’ is impossible because of vowel clash; use ‘mon amie’ instead.

物主形容词要与它所修饰的名词配合,而非与所有者配合。这是一条典型的公式错误:”ma amie” 因元音冲突不可用;须改用 “mon amie”。

English Masc. Sing. Fem. Sing. Plural (both)
my mon ma (mon + vowel) mes
your (tu) ton ta (ton + vowel) tes
his/her/its son sa (son + vowel) ses

Apply the formula with these examples: mon père (my father), ma mère (my mother), mon école (my school, feminine but starts with vowel).

用以下示例应用公式:mon père(我的父亲),ma mère(我的母亲),mon école(我的学校,阴性但以元音开头)。

7. Question Forming Theorem | 疑问句构成定理

There are three main ‘formulas’ for asking questions in French. All are used at Year 8 level, though intonation is the simplest.

法语有三种主要的疑问句构成”公式”。Year 8 阶段都可使用,其中语调升调法最为简单。

  1. Intonation formula: Statement + rising intonation. Tu aimes le chocolat? (You like chocolate?)
  2. Est-ce que formula: Prefix ‘Est-ce que’ to a statement. Est-ce que tu aimes le chocolat?
  3. Inversion formula: Invert subject and verb. Aimes-tu le chocolat? (more formal)

Question words (où, quand, comment, pourquoi, qui, que) can be placed at the beginning or after ‘est-ce que’. Où habites-tu? = Où est-ce que tu habites? (Where do you live?)

疑问词(où 哪里、quand 何时、comment 怎样、pourquoi 为什么、qui 谁、que 什么)可置于句首或 “est-ce que” 之后。Où habites-tu? = Où est-ce que tu habites?(你住在哪里?)

8. High-Frequency Verb ‘Formula’ Cards: aller, faire, pouvoir, vouloir | 高频动词”公式卡”:去、做、能、想

Alongside être and avoir, irregular verbs aller (to go), faire (to do/make), pouvoir (can) and vouloir (to want) are essential. Learn them as set formulas.

除 être 和 avoir 外,不规则动词 aller(去)、faire(做)、pouvoir(能)和 vouloir(想要)也至关重要。请将它们作为固定公式来学习。

  • aller: je vais, tu vas, il va, nous allons, vous allez, ils vont
  • faire: je fais, tu fais, il fait, nous faisons, vous faites, ils font (used for weather: Il fait beau.)
  • pouvoir: je peux, tu peux, il peut, nous pouvons, vous pouvez, ils peuvent (followed by infinitive: Je peux parler français.)
  • vouloir: je veux, tu veux, il veut, nous voulons, vous voulez, ils veulent

The ‘infinitive theorem’ applies: after conjugated forms of pouvoir, vouloir, and many other verbs, use the infinitive. Je veux jouer (I want to play).

“不定式定理”适用:在 pouvoir、vouloir 以及许多其他动词的变位形式后,需使用不定式。Je veux jouer(我想玩)。

9. Time and Date Theorem | 时间与日期表达定理

Expressing time and dates in French follows set patterns. Mastering these formulas allows you to talk about schedules, birthdays and daily routines.

用法语表达时间和日期遵循固定模式。掌握这些公式后,你就能谈论日程、生日和日常生活。

  • Days of the week: lundi, mardi, mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi, dimanche (never capitalised unless at start).
  • Months: janvier, février, mars, avril, mai, juin, juillet, août, septembre, octobre, novembre, décembre.
  • Date formula: le + cardinal number + month. e.g., le 5 mai (the 5th of May). Exception: le premier (1st).
  • Time formula: Il est + [hour] + heure(s) + [minutes]. Il est trois heures dix. (It is 3:10.)

To ask: ‘Quelle est la date?’ (What is the date?) ‘Quelle heure est-il?’ (What time is it?)

提问:”Quelle est la date?”(今天几号?)”Quelle heure est-il?”(几点了?)

10. The Negation Theorem: ne … pas | 否定公式:ne … pas

To make a sentence negative, employ the ‘sandwich’ formula: ne + verb + pas. This is a non-negotiable structural theorem in standard French.

要使句子变为否定,需使用”三明治”公式:ne + 动词 + pas。这是标准法语中必须遵守的结构定理。

  • Je parle anglais. → Je ne parle pas anglais. (I do not speak English.)
  • Il est grand. → Il n’est pas grand. (He is not tall.) Note: ne becomes n’ before a vowel.
  • J’aime le chocolat. → Je n’aime pas le chocolat.

With compound verbs (aimer, détester, etc.) the ne … pas surrounds the conjugated verb only: Je n’aime pas danser. (I don’t like dancing.)

对于复合动词(aimer、détester 等),ne … pas 只包围变位动词:Je n’aime pas danser.(我不喜欢跳舞。)

11. Personal Descriptor Theorem: Appearance and Personality | 人物描述定理:外貌与性格

Describing yourself and others requires combining être with adjectives correctly. This quick-check theorem ensures gender and number are right.

描述自己和他人需要正确地将 être 与形容词结合起来。此速查定理确保性和数使用正确。

  • Height: Je suis grand(e). Je suis de taille moyenne. Je suis petit(e).
  • Hair: J’ai les cheveux blonds/bruns/noirs/roux, longs/courts, raides/bouclés.
  • Eyes: J’ai les yeux bleus/verts/marron/noisette.
  • Personality: Je suis timide, bavard(e), drôle, intelligent(e), sportif/sportive, gentil(le).

The ‘avoir + noun’ theorem is used for physical features: J’ai les yeux verts, not Je suis les yeux verts.

描述身体特征时使用 “avoir + 名词” 定理:J’ai les yeux verts(我有一双绿眼睛),而不是 Je suis les yeux verts。

12. Connective Theorem: Linking Words for Fluency | 连接词定理:提升流利度的连接词

Using connectives is like adding bridges between ideas. Memorise these formulaic linkers to extend sentences and improve speaking and writing marks.

使用连接词如同在观点之间架桥。记住这些公式化的连接词,以拓展句子、提高口语和写作成绩。

  • et (and), aussi (also), mais (but)
  • cependant (however), parce que / car (because)
  • donc (therefore), puis (then), ensuite (next)
  • quand (when), si (if), avec (with), sans (without)

Sentence extension theorem: Start with a simple idea and add a linker. ‘J’aime le sport parce que c’est amusant.’ (I like sport because it’s fun.) ‘J’habite à Belfast mais je voudrais visiter Paris.’

句子拓展定理:从一个简单的想法开始,然后添加连接词。”J’aime le sport parce que c’est amusant.”(我喜欢运动,因为它有趣。)”J’habite à Belfast mais je voudrais visiter Paris.”(我住在贝尔法斯特,但我想去巴黎看看。)
