A country like Bangladesh has a high density but is not wealthy; Canada has a low density overall but its population is concentrated in a narrow belt along the US border.

A mistake is to say urbanisation is just ‘people moving to cities’ without mentioning the proportion element.

For OCR, you must be able to identify these processes on a graph of population change and in case study examples such as a UK rural-urban fringe.
