📚 Year 9 Cambridge German: Quick-Reference Formula and Rulebook | Year 9 剑桥德语:公式定理速查手册

German grammar can feel like a collection of formulas – once you know the patterns, you can build sentences with confidence. This handbook gathers the most essential ‘formulas’ and ‘theorems’ you need for Year 9 Cambridge German, from gender rules to verb endings and sentence structure. Each section presents a clear rule in a ready-to-use format, just like a maths equation, so you can quickly check and apply it.

德语语法就像一组公式 —— 一旦掌握这些模式,你就能自信地构建句子。这本手册汇集了 Year 9 剑桥德语最核心的”公式”和”定理”,从名词性别规则到动词词尾、句子结构,每一节都以即查即用的格式呈现清晰规则。像数学公式一样,让你随时查阅、快速套用。

1. Noun Genders: The ‘Der-Die-Das’ Formula | 名词性别:der-die-das 识别公式

Every German noun belongs to one of three genders: masculine, feminine or neuter. The definite article (the) follows a simple code: ‘der’ for masculine, ‘die’ for feminine, ‘das’ for neuter, and ‘die’ for all plurals. No single rule covers all, but plenty of ending-based ‘formulas’ give you high accuracy.

每个德语名词都属于三种性别之一:阳性、阴性或中性。定冠词遵循简单代码:der 表阳性,die 表阴性,das 表中性,复数统一用 die。虽然没有一条规则能覆盖所有名词,但大量基于词尾的”公式”能让你判断准确率极高。

Masculine endings: -ig, -ling, -or, -ismus, -er (often). Feminine endings: -ung, -heit, -keit, -schaft, -tion, -tät, -ie. Neuter endings: -chen, -lein, -ment, -um, -tum (partly). Compound nouns take the gender of the last element: der Bahnhof (der Hof), die Autobahn (die Bahn).

阳性常见词尾:-ig, -ling, -or, -ismus, -er(多数)。阴性常见词尾:-ung, -heit, -keit, -schaft, -tion, -tät, -ie。中性常见词尾:-chen, -lein, -ment, -um, -tum(部分)。复合名词取最后一个成分的性别:der Bahnhof (der Hof), die Autobahn (die Bahn)。

Ending / Rule Gender Example
-ung, -heit, -keit Feminine die Zeitung, die Freiheit
-chen, -lein Neuter das Mädchen, das Büchlein
-ig, -ling Masculine der Honig, der Frühling
Foreign -tion, -tät, -ie Feminine die Nation, die Universität

2. Present Tense Conjugation: The Verb Formula | 现在时动词变位公式

Regular (weak) verbs follow a fixed formula: stem + personal ending. The stem is the infinitive minus -en (or -n). Then add the endings: ich -e, du -st, er/sie/es -t, wir -en, ihr -t, sie/Sie -en. Example with ‘spielen’ (to play): ich spiele, du spielst, er spielt, wir spielen, ihr spielt, sie spielen.

规则(弱变化)动词遵循固定公式:词干 + 人称词尾。词干是不定式去掉 -en(或 -n)。然后加上词尾:ich -e, du -st, er/sie/es -t, wir -en, ihr -t, sie/Sie -en。以 spielen(玩)为例:ich spiele, du spielst, er spielt, wir spielen, ihr spielt, sie spielen。

Stem-changing verbs (strong verbs) tweak the vowel in du and er forms only. Common patterns: e → i (e.g., geben -> du gibst, er gibt) or e → ie (sehen -> du siehst, er sieht). Another is a → ä (fahren -> du fährst, er fährt). Keep the original stem for ich, wir, ihr, Sie.

换音动词(强变化)仅 du 和 er 形式改变元音。常见模式:e → i(如 geben → du gibst, er gibt)或 e → ie(sehen → du siehst, er sieht)。另一种是 a → ä(fahren → du fährst, er fährt)。ich、wir、ihr、Sie 保留原词干。

Pronoun Regular Ending ‘geben’ (e→i) ‘fahren’ (a→ä)
ich -e gebe fahre
du -st gibst fährst
er/sie/es -t gibt fährt
wir -en geben fahren
ihr -t gebt fahrt
sie/Sie -en geben fahren

3. The Core Auxiliaries: ‘haben’ and ‘sein’ | 核心助动词:haben 与 sein 的公式

‘Haben’ (to have) and ‘sein’ (to be) are the building blocks of many tenses. Their present-tense forms are irregular and must be memorised as formulas. Haben: ich habe, du hast, er hat, wir haben, ihr habt, sie haben. Sein: ich bin, du bist, er ist, wir sind, ihr seid, sie sind.

haben(有)和 sein(是)是构建众多时态的基石。它们的现在时形式不规则,必须当作公式记住。haben:ich habe, du hast, er hat, wir haben, ihr habt, sie haben。sein:ich bin, du bist, er ist, wir sind, ihr seid, sie sind。

In spoken progression, use these formulas to form the perfect tense. ‘Haben’ is the default auxiliary; ‘sein’ is used for verbs of motion or change of state (gehen, fahren, kommen, werden, sein, bleiben). Perfect formula: auxiliary + past participle at the end. Ich habe gespielt. Ich bin gegangen.

在口语表达中,用这两个公式构成完成时。haben 是默认助动词;sein 用于表示运动或状态变化的动词(gehen, fahren, kommen, werden, sein, bleiben)。完成时公式:助动词 + 过去分词置于句末。Ich habe gespielt. Ich bin gegangen。

4. The Four Cases: The ‘Ein-Word Order’ Theorem | 四个格:”一词定序”定理

German uses four cases to show the function of nouns and pronouns: nominative (subject), accusative (direct object), dative (indirect object), and genitive (possession). Definite articles shift like a code: masculine: der → den → dem → des; feminine: die → die → der → der; neuter: das → das → dem → des; plural: die → die → den → der.

德语用四个格表示名词和代词的功能:主格(主语)、宾格(直接宾语)、与格(间接宾语)和属格(所属关系)。定冠词像条形码一样变化:阳性:der → den → dem → des;阴性:die → die → der → der;中性:das → das → dem → des;复数:die → die → den → der。

Think of the ‘question-word formula’: Nominativ answers Wer? (Who?), Akkusativ answers Wen? or Was? (Whom? What?), Dativ answers Wem? (To whom?), Genitiv answers Wessen? (Whose?). After certain prepositions and verbs, a specific case is triggered – lock the formula in.

使用”疑问词公式”:第一格回答 Wer?(谁?),第四格回答 Wen? / Was?(谁?/ 什么?),第三格回答 Wem?(给谁?),第二格回答 Wessen?(谁的?)。某些介词和动词会固定触发某个格 —— 锁定这个公式就行。

Case Masc. Fem. Neut. Plural
Nominative der die das die
Accusative den die das die
Dative dem der dem den [+n]
Genitive des der des der

5. Indefinite and Negative Articles: The ‘Ein/Kein’ Grid | 不定冠词与否定冠词:ein/kein 网格

Indefinite article ‘a/an’ is ‘ein’ for masculine and neuter, ‘eine’ for feminine. Negative ‘no/not a’ uses ‘kein’, which follows the same endings as ‘ein’. Both change exactly like the definite article patterns but with no ending in masculine nominative and neuter nominative/accusative.

不定冠词 “a/an” 在阳性、中性前用 ein,阴性用 eine。否定 “no/not a” 用 kein,词尾变化与 ein 完全相同。两者都像定冠词一样变化,但阳性第一格和中性第一、四格无词尾。

Formula: ein/kein + case ending. Masculine: ein Mann (Nom.), einen Mann (Akk.), einem Mann (Dat.), eines Mannes (Gen.). Neuter: ein Kind (Nom./Akk.), einem Kind (Dat.), eines Kindes (Gen.). Feminine: eine Frau, eine Frau, einer Frau, einer Frau. Plural kein: keine, keine, keinen, keiner.

公式:ein/kein + 格词尾。阳性:ein Mann(第一格),einen Mann(第四格),einem Mann(第三格),eines Mannes(第二格)。中性:ein Kind(第一/四格),einem Kind(第三格),eines Kindes(第二格)。阴性:eine Frau(第一/四格),einer Frau(第三格),einer Frau(第二格)。复数 kein:keine, keine, keinen, keiner。

6. Adjective Endings: The Three-Table Algorithm | 形容词词尾:三表算法

Adjective endings in German depend on three scenarios: after a definite article, after an indefinite article, or without any article. Think of it as a three-way switch. The adjective takes the signal ending when the article is missing, and a weak -e or -en when the article already carries the strong signal.

德语形容词词尾取决于三种情况:定冠词后、不定冠词后或零冠词。把它看作一个三档开关。当冠词缺失时,形容词承担强信号词尾;当冠词已带有强信号,形容词则使用弱变化 -e 或 -en。

Definite article (the): adj. + -e or -en. e.g., der gute Wein, den guten Wein, dem guten Wein. Indefinite article (a/an): adj. takes the signal in masculine and neuter, otherwise -en. e.g., ein guter Wein, einen guten Wein. No article: strong endings, e.g., guter Wein, guten Wein, gutem Wein.

定冠词后:形容词 + -e 或 -en。如 der gute Wein, den guten Wein, dem guten Wein。不定冠词后:形容词在阳性和中性承担信号词尾,其余填 -en。如 ein guter Wein, einen guten Wein。零冠词:强变化词尾,如 guter Wein, guten Wein, gutem Wein。

Case Masc. (der) Fem. (die) Neut. (das) Plural (die)
Nom. -e -e -e -en
Akk. -en -e -e -en
Dat. -en -en -en -en
Gen. -en -en -en -en

Table: Definite article adjective endings (weak declension) – der/die/das words.

7. Modal Verbs: The ‘Ich Will’ Equation | 情态动词:”我想”方程式

Modal verbs (dürfen, können, mögen, müssen, sollen, wollen, and möchten) modify the meaning of the main verb, which goes to the end in the infinitive. The formula: modal verb conjugated (verb second) + … + infinitive at the end. Example: Ich will heute ins Kino gehen.

情态动词(dürfen, können, mögen, müssen, sollen, wollen 以及 möchten)修饰主动词的含义,主动词以不定式置于句末。公式:情态动词变位(动词第二位)+ … + 不定式在句末。例:Ich will heute ins Kino gehen。

Modal conjugation has a special pattern: ich and er forms are identical and often lose the ending. können: ich kann, du kannst, er kann, wir können, ihr könnt, sie können. wollen: ich will, du willst, er will, wir wollen, ihr wollt, sie wollen. No umlaut change in möchten (ich möchte).

情态动词变位有特殊模式:ich 和 er 形式相同,且常脱落词尾。können: ich kann, du kannst, er kann, wir können, ihr könnt, sie können。wollen: ich will, du willst, er will, wir wollen, ihr wollt, sie wollen。möchten 在变位中不变音(ich möchte)。

8. Perfect Tense: The ‘Haben/Sein + Past Participle’ Constructor | 完成时:haben/sein + 过去分词构造器

The perfect tense describes completed actions and is the main past tense in spoken German. Formula: auxiliary (haben or sein conjugated) + subject + … + past participle (ge- stem -t for weak verbs, ge- stem -en for many strong verbs). Example: Ich habe Fußball gespielt. Er ist nach Hause gefahren.

完成时描述已完成的动作,是德语口语中主要的过去时态。公式:助动词(haben 或 sein 变位)+ 主语 + … + 过去分词(弱变化:ge- 词干 -t;很多强变化:ge- 词干 -en)。例:Ich habe Fußball gespielt. Er ist nach Hause gefahren。

Past participle formation rules: Weak: ge + stem + t (machen → gemacht). Strong: ge + changed stem + en (gehen → gegangen). Mixed: ge + stem + t with vowel change (bringen → gebracht). Separable verbs put -ge- between the prefix and stem (aufmachen → aufgemacht). Inseparable verbs (be-, ver-, er-) drop ge- (besuchen → besucht). Verbs ending in -ieren also drop ge- (studieren → studiert).

过去分词构成规则:弱变化:ge + 词干 + t(machen → gemacht)。强变化:ge + 变音词干 + en(gehen → gegangen)。混合变化:ge + 词干 + t 带元音变化(bringen → gebracht)。可分动词将 -ge- 插在前缀和词干之间(aufmachen → aufgemacht)。不可分动词(be-, ver-, er- 等)不加 ge-(besuchen → besucht)。以 -ieren 结尾的动词也不加 ge-(studieren → studiert)。

9. Future Tense: The ‘Werden + Infinitive’ Blueprint | 将来时:werden + 不定式蓝图

Future tense is built with a conjugated form of ‘werden’ as the auxiliary plus the infinitive at the end. Formula: Subject + werden (conjugated) + … + infinitive. Ich werde morgen schwimmen. Wir werden das Buch lesen. ‘Werden’ itself conjugates: ich werde, du wirst, er wird, wir werden, ihr werdet, sie werden.

将来时由助动词 werden 的变位形式加句末不定式构成。公式:主语 + werden(变位)+ … + 不定式。Ich werde morgen schwimmen. Wir werden das Buch lesen。werden 的变位:ich werde, du wirst, er wird, wir werden, ihr werdet, sie werden。

In spoken German, the present tense often replaces the future when a time adverbial is present. Morgen gehe ich einkaufen. But for predictions and promises, the werden-formula is the clear choice. Keep it precise as a plan-formula.

在口语中,如果存在时间状语,现在时常可替代将来时。Morgen gehe ich einkaufen(明天我去购物)。但在表示预测或承诺时,werden 公式是明确的选择。把它当作计划公式来精准使用。

10. Prepositions and Their Case Triggers | 介词与它们触发的格

Certain prepositions always demand a specific case. Think of these as locked gates: accusative-only prepositions (durch, für, gegen, ohne, um) always open the accusative case. Dative-only prepositions (aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu) always take dative. Genitive prepositions (während, trotz, wegen) trigger genitive.

某些介词永远要求特定格。把它们看作上锁的门:纯宾格介词(durch, für, gegen, ohne, um)永远开启宾格。纯与格介词(aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu)永远带与格。属格介词(während, trotz, wegen)触发属格。

Two-way prepositions (an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen) follow the ‘motion vs location’ theorem. Motion (wohin?) → accusative; location (wo?) → dative. Ich gehe in die Schule (accusative). Ich bin in der Schule (dative). This is one of the most tested ‘formulas’ in Year 9.

双向介词(an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen)遵循”动态与静态”定理。表示移动方向(wohin?)→ 宾格;表示静止位置(wo?)→ 与格。Ich gehe in die Schule(宾格)。Ich bin in der Schule(与格)。这是 Year 9 考试中最高频的”公式”之一。

11. Sentence Structure: The Verb-Second Law | 句子结构:动词二位定律

In main clauses, the conjugated verb always occupies position 2. The first position can be the subject, a time phrase, or any emphasised element, but the verb must follow directly afterwards. Formula: Element 1 + Verb + Subject + … Example: Heute (1) gehe (2) ich (3) ins Kino.

在主句中,变位动词永远占据第二位置。第一位可以是主语、时间状语或其他强调成分,但动词必须紧随其后。公式:成分1 + 动词 + 主语 + … 示例:Heute (1) gehe (2) ich (3) ins Kino。

Subordinating conjunctions (weil, dass, wenn, obwohl) push the verb to the end. Formula: … subordinating conjunction + Subject + … + Verb at end. Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich krank bin. The ‘verb-kicker’ rule transforms the structure: learn this inversion as a core theorem.

从属连词(weil, dass, wenn, obwohl)将动词踢到句末。公式:… 从属连词 + 主语 + … + 动词至句末。Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich krank bin。这个”动词踢位”规则彻底改变语序:把这种倒装当作核心定理记下来。

12. Question Words and Yes/No Formulas | 疑问词与是非问句公式

Yes/no questions put the conjugated verb in position 1, followed by the subject. Formula: Verb + Subject + …? Kommst du mit? Hat er Zeit? This simple swap is your quick-question tool.

是非问句把变位动词放在第一位,后接主语。公式:动词 + 主语 + …? Kommst du mit? Hat er Zeit?这个简单调换就是你的快捷提问工具。

W-questions (Wer, Was, Wann, Wo, Warum, Wie) use the question word in position 1, then verb, then subject. Wer ist das? Wann fährt der Zug? Wo wohnst du? The verb-second rule stays firm. Keep this as your question-formula and you’ll never get stuck.

W 问句(Wer, Was, Wann, Wo, Warum, Wie)把疑问词放在第一位,然后动词,然后主语。Wer ist das? Wann fährt der Zug? Wo wohnst du?动词二位定律依旧严格。把这个当作你的问句公式,你永远不会卡壳。
