A ladder 5.2 m long leans against a wall. The foot of the ladder is 1.8 m from the wall. How high up the wall does the ladder reach?

Use Pythagoras’ theorem: a² + b² = c², where c is the hypotenuse (ladder length).

Let the height be h. Then h² + 1.8² = 5.2².

Calculate squares: 1.8² = 3.24, 5.2² = 27.04.
