1. Overview of the AQA GCSE English Language Papers | 考试概况
The AQA GCSE English Language qualification consists of two externally examined papers. Paper 1, ‘Explorations in Creative Reading and Writing’, focuses on literature fiction texts and your own creative writing. Paper 2, ‘Writers’ Viewpoints and Perspectives’, uses non-fiction texts from different centuries and tasks you with writing to present a viewpoint. Both papers are 1 hour 45 minutes long and have equal weighting (50% of your GCSE). Learning the structure inside out is your first step towards confidence in the exam hall.
AQA GCSE 英语语言资格由两份外部考试试卷组成。试卷一《创造性阅读与写作探索》聚焦于文学虚构文本以及你自己的创意写作。试卷二《作者的观点与视角》则使用来自不同世纪的非虚构文本,并要求你写一篇文章来表达观点。两份试卷时长均为 1 小时 45 分钟,权重相同(各占 GCSE 的 50%)。彻底了解试卷结构是你在考场上建立信心的第一步。
Paper 1 Section A tests reading comprehension and analysis of a single literature fiction extract. Section B offers a choice of descriptive or narrative writing tasks. Paper 2 Section A requires you to read two linked non-fiction texts and answer questions that build from basic retrieval to synthesis and comparison. Section B asks you to produce a piece of transactional or persuasive writing, such as an article, letter, or speech.
试卷一 A 部分考查对一篇文学虚构节选的阅读理解与分析。B 部分则提供一个描写或叙述写作任务供你选择。试卷二 A 部分要求你阅读两篇主题相关的非虚构文本,并回答从基础信息提取逐步上升到综合与比较的问题。B 部分要求你撰写一篇应用文或说服性文章,比如一篇文章、信件或演讲稿。
| Paper | Section A: Reading | Section B: Writing |
|---|---|---|
| Paper 1 | 1 fiction text, 4 questions (1 hour) | 1 descriptive or narrative task (45 minutes) |
| Paper 2 | 2 non-fiction texts, 4 questions (1 hour) | 1 writing to present a viewpoint task (45 minutes) |
Understanding this blueprint means you can build a revision timetable that mirrors real exam timings. For instance, allocate roughly 15 minutes to read and plan, then divide the remaining time proportionally according to the marks available for each question.
理解了这张蓝图,你就可以制定一个模拟真实考试时间的复习时间表。例如,分配大约 15 分钟进行阅读和规划,然后根据每个问题的分值按比例分配剩余时间。
2. Assessment Objectives (AOs) Explained | 评分标准解析
Every mark in GCSE English Language is tied to a specific Assessment Objective (AO). There are six AOs in total, but only five are assessed on this course (AO1, AO2, AO3, AO4, AO5, AO6 — though AOs are not numbered consistently across subjects, for English Language we work with AO1–AO6). The reading questions target AO1, AO2, AO3, and AO4, while writing tasks are marked for AO5 and AO6. Knowing what each AO demands allows you to tailor every sentence you write directly to the examiner’s checklist.
AO1 focuses on identifying and interpreting explicit and implicit information and ideas, as well as selecting and synthesising evidence from different texts. In exam questions, this translates to straightforward ‘find the information’ tasks and more sophisticated summary work, particularly in Paper 2 Question 2.
AO1 侧重于识别和解读明确及隐含的信息与观点,以及从不同文本中选择和综合证据。在考题中,这体现为直接的“查找信息”任务,以及更复杂的摘要概括工作,尤其是在试卷二的问题 2 中。
AO2 is all about explaining, commenting on, and analysing how writers use language and structure to achieve effects and influence readers. You must use relevant subject terminology — words like metaphor, juxtaposition, or focalisation — but only when they genuinely support your analysis, not as a shopping list.
AO2 的核心是解释、评论并分析作者如何运用语言和结构来达到效果并影响读者。你必须使用相关的学科术语——比如隐喻、并列或聚焦——但前提是它们真正支持你的分析,而不是像列购物清单一样堆砌。
AO3 asks you to compare writers’ ideas and perspectives, as well as how these are conveyed, across two or more texts. This is exclusively tested in Paper 2 Question 4, which demands an integrated comparison of methods and viewpoints.
AO3 要求你比较两篇或更多文本中作者的观点和视角,以及这些观点是如何传达的。这仅出现在试卷二的问题 4 中,这道题要求对方法和观点进行融合比较。
AO4 requires you to evaluate texts critically and support this with appropriate textual references. On Paper 1 Question 4, you are given a statement about the extract (often a student’s opinion) and asked how far you agree. You must weigh evidence, explore subtleties, and reach a qualified judgement.
AO4 要求你批判性地评价文本,并用恰当的文本引用加以支持。在试卷一的问题 4 中,你会得到一个关于节选的陈述(通常是某个学生的看法),并被问到你在多大程度上同意。你必须权衡证据,探究微妙之处,并得出一个有保留的判断。
AO5 concerns the content and organisation of your writing. Examiners look for clear communication, imaginative and effective ideas, an appropriate tone, style, and register for the task, and a well-structured, coherent whole with deliberate paragraphing and discourse markers.
AO5 关乎你写作的内容与组织。考官看重清晰的表达、富有想象力且有效的想法、适合任务要求的语气、风格和语域,以及结构合理、连贯的整体,其中包括有意识的段落划分和话语标记。
AO6 is to do with technical accuracy: a range of vocabulary and sentence structures for clarity, purpose, and effect, alongside accurate spelling and punctuation. In creative writing, ambitious vocabulary and varied syntax can push you into the highest bands, but only if errors do not hold you back.
AO6 与技巧准确性相关:使用一系列词汇和句子结构以求清晰、有目的和有效果,同时保证拼写和标点的准确。在创意写作中,有雄心的词汇和多变的句式可以让你进入最高分档,但前提是错误不会拖你的后腿。
3. Reading Section: Unseen Texts and Question Types | 阅读部分:未知文本与题型
Both papers begin with a reading section where you encounter texts you have never seen before. This is by design: the exam tests your skills, not your prior knowledge of a set text. For Paper 1, the extract will be from a 20th- or 21st-century novel or short story. For Paper 2, you will face two non-fiction texts from different centuries — typically one from the 19th century and one modern piece — linked by a theme such as travel, education, or food.
两份试卷都以阅读部分开始,你会遇到从未见过的文本。这是有意设计的:考试测试的是你的技能,而不是你对固定文本的已有知识。在试卷一中,节选将来自 20 世纪或 21 世纪的小说或短篇故事。在试卷二中,你将面对两篇来自不同世纪的非虚构文本——通常是一篇 19 世纪的文章和一篇现代作品——它们由一个共同主题联系,比如旅行、教育或食物。
The reading questions are designed in a ramp of increasing demand. In Paper 1, Question 1 (4 marks) is a simple retrieval task: ‘List four things about…’ from a specified section. Question 2 (8 marks) asks you to analyse language, Question 3 (8 marks) targets structure, and Question 4 (20 marks) is the extended evaluation. Paper 2 follows a similar pattern: Q1 is a tick-box true/false task (4 marks), Q2 (8 marks) is a summary of differences or similarities, Q3 (12 marks) is language analysis, and Q4 (16 marks) is the comparison.
阅读题按照难度递增的顺序设计。在试卷一中,问题 1(4 分)是一个简单的信息提取任务:“从指定段落中列出关于……的四件事”。问题 2(8 分)要求分析语言,问题 3(8 分)针对结构,问题 4(20 分)是长篇评价。试卷二也遵循类似的模式:Q1 是打勾的正误判断任务(4 分),Q2(8 分)是归纳异同点,Q3(12 分)是语言分析,Q4(16 分)是比较题。
A common mistake is to dive straight into answering without reading carefully. Spend at least 10–15 minutes annotating the texts. Skim for overall meaning, then re-read with a highlighter, marking anything that links to the likely questions: interesting words, imagery, shifts in tone, structural features like a change of focus or time. Your annotations should be quick but purposeful — underline, circle, and scribble one-word reminders like ‘metaphor – sense of danger’ or ‘short sentence – urgency’.
一个常见的错误是没有仔细阅读就直接开始答题。至少花 10 到 15 分钟来注释文本。先略读了解大意,然后用荧光笔重读,标记出任何可能与问题相关的内容:有趣的词语、意象、语气的转变、结构特征如焦点的变化或时间的跳跃。你的注释应该快速但有目的——下划线、画圈,并草草写下单词提示,比如“隐喻——危险感”或“短句——紧迫性”。
4. How to Analyse Language (AO2) | 如何分析语言
Language analysis questions (Paper 1 Q2 and Paper 2 Q3) require you to select two or three well-chosen quotations and explore their effect in depth. The mark scheme rewards perceptive explanations, so try to move beyond ‘this creates a picture in the reader’s mind’. Instead, zoom in on specific connotations, think about the sensory impact, and consider how the writer’s choice might reflect a character’s emotion or a text’s wider themes.
语言分析题(试卷一 Q2 和试卷二 Q3)要求你选取两到三处精心挑选的引文,并深入探讨它们的效果。评分标准奖励敏锐的解释,所以努力超越“这在读者脑海中创造了一幅画面”这样的表述。相反,放大细节,关注特定的内涵意义,思考感官冲击,并考虑作者的选择如何反映人物的情感或文本的更广泛主题。
A powerful technique is to use subject terminology accurately and link it to meaning. For instance, instead of stating ‘The writer uses a simile’, say ‘The simile “like a wounded animal” compares the man to a creature in pain, conveying his raw vulnerability and evoking sympathy in the reader.’ Notice how the quotation is embedded, the term is present, and the effect is explained.
一个强有力的技巧是准确使用学科术语并将其与含义联系起来。例如,不要只说“作者使用了一个明喻”,而要说“明喻‘像一只受伤的动物’将这个男人比作一个痛苦的生物,传达出他赤裸的脆弱,并唤起了读者的同情。” 请注意这里是如何嵌入引文、出现术语,并解释效果的。
Always follow the PETAL or PEEL structure: Point, Evidence, Technique, Analysis, Link. Start by stating what the writer is doing, embed your quotation, identify the word class or device (verb, adjective, metaphor, personification, sibilance, etc.), then unpack multiple layers of meaning. Consider the word’s denotation and connotation, any sound effects, and what it reveals about character, setting, or tone. Finally, link back to the wider text or the question’s focus.
始终遵循 PETAL 或 PEEL 结构:观点、证据、技巧、分析、联系。首先说明作者在做什么,嵌入你的引文,识别词性或者手法(动词、形容词、隐喻、拟人、咝音等),然后剖析多层含义。考虑词语的指示意义和内涵意义、任何声音效果,以及它揭示了关于人物、背景或语气的什么。最后,联系回更广泛的文本或问题的焦点。
For Paper 2 especially, you can explore how language reflects a writer’s viewpoint. A 19th-century article might use formal, elevated diction to establish authority, while a modern blog might deploy slang and direct address to build a sense of intimacy. Noticing such choices and how they shape the reader’s response is key to top-band AO2 marks.
特别是在试卷二中,你可以探讨语言如何反映作者的观点。一篇 19 世纪的文章可能使用正式、高雅的措辞来确立权威,而一篇现代博客可能运用俚语和直接称呼来营造亲密感。注意到这些选择以及它们如何影响读者的反应,是获得 AO2 高分段分数的关键。
5. How to Analyse Structure (AO2) | 如何分析结构
Paper 1 Question 3 is devoted entirely to structural analysis. Many students find this the most challenging, but it becomes manageable once you think like a director: where does the writer place the camera, and why? Structure is not about what happens, but how the writer orders events, builds tension, shifts focus, and manipulates time and pace.
试卷一的问题 3 完全专注于结构分析。许多学生觉得这道题最具挑战性,但一旦你像导演一样思考,它就变得可控了:作者把镜头放在哪里,为什么?结构不是关于发生了什么,而是作者如何排列事件、营造张力、转移焦点,以及操控时间和节奏。
Start by dividing the extract into three or four logical sections, such as the opening, a turning point, and the ending. Then, label structural features: exposition (setting the scene), flashback, shift in time or location, introduction of a new character, climax, cliffhanger, circular structure, or a change in sentence length or paragraph size. Always ask: what is the effect of this structural choice on the reader? How does it shape our understanding or emotional state?
首先,将节选分成三到四个逻辑部分,比如开头、一个转折点和结尾。然后,标注结构特征:铺垫(设置场景)、倒叙、时间或地点的转变、新人物的引入、高潮、悬念、环形结构,或者句子长度或段落大小的变化。始终要问:这种结构选择对读者产生了什么影响?它如何塑造了我们的理解或情感状态?
For example, a writer might open in medias res (in the middle of the action) to instantly grab the reader’s attention and create a sense of disorientation reflecting the protagonist’s confusion. A shift from a wide landscape description to a close-up on a single detail can signal a change in focus from external to internal, drawing the reader into the character’s mindset. A sudden short paragraph at the end can provide a dramatic resolution or a shocking twist.
例如,作者可能以“直入高潮”(从行动中间开始)的方式开篇,以立刻抓住读者的注意力并营造一种迷失感,反映出主人公的困惑。从宽广的风景描写切换到对单一细节的特写,可能标志着焦点从外部转向内部,将读者引入人物的内心世界。结尾处突然出现的短段落可以提供一个戏剧性的解决或一个令人震惊的反转。
Use terms like ‘focus’, ‘shift’, ‘pace’, ‘contrast’, ‘juxtaposition’, ‘foreshadowing’, and ‘resolution’ confidently. Remember that sentence forms matter: a long, complex sentence can slow the pace and describe a reflective moment, while a sequence of short, blunt sentences can suggest urgency, panic, or finality.
自信地使用诸如“焦点”、“转变”、“节奏”、“对比”、“并列”、“预示”和“结局”等术语。请记住,句式也很重要:一个长而复杂的句子可以放慢节奏,描述一个反思的时刻,而一连串简短、生硬的句子则可以暗示紧迫性、恐慌或结局感。
6. Evaluation Questions (AO4) | 评价题
The 20-mark evaluation question on Paper 1 (Question 4) is worth a quarter of the paper’s total marks, so it deserves significant attention. The question presents a critical statement about the extract — for instance, ‘A student said, “This part of the story, where the character faces a difficult decision, is tense and suspenseful.” To what extent do you agree?’ Your job is to construct a critical argument, using evidence to support your personal response.
试卷一上 20 分的评价题(问题 4)占整张试卷总分的四分之一,因此值得高度重视。该问题会给出一个关于节选的批评性陈述——例如,“一个学生说,‘故事中角色面临艰难决定的这一部分,充满了紧张和悬念。’ 你在多大程度上同意?” 你的任务是构建一个批评性论证,使用证据来支持你的个人回应。
The top bands require a ‘critical evaluation’, which means you must not just agree or disagree blanketly. Instead, adopt a nuanced stance: agree in some respects, but also point out where the statement might be limited. Show that you can see both sides of an argument while still reaching a clear overall judgement.
最高的评分档次要求“批评性评价”,这意味着你不能全盘同意或全盘不同意。相反,要采取一种细致入微的立场:在某些方面同意,但也指出该陈述在哪些方面可能有所局限。展示你能够看到论点的两面性,同时仍然得出一个清晰的整体判断。
A solid structure is: begin with a thesis statement that directly addresses the question. Then, in each paragraph, start by discussing one way the extract supports the statement, quoting a vivid phrase and analysing how it builds tension or suspense. Follow this with a counterpoint or a subtle observation — perhaps the tension is broken by a moment of humour or pathos. Conclude by weighing up your evidence and stating your overall position, using words like ‘overall’, ‘ultimately’, or ‘on balance’.
一个可靠的结构是:以一个直接回应问题的论点句开头。然后,在每个段落中,先讨论节选支持该陈述的一种方式,引用一个生动的短语,分析它如何营造紧张或悬念。接着,提出一个相反的观点或一个微妙的观察——也许紧张感被一个幽默或伤感的时刻打破了。最后,权衡你的证据,陈述你的总体立场,使用诸如“总的来说”、“根本上”或“综合来看”等词语。
Examiners are impressed by students who use a range of evidence from across the specified section, not just the first few lines. Move through the text, tracking the development of atmosphere or character, and show awareness of how an effect builds, peaks, and possibly fades. High-level vocabulary for evaluation includes terms like ‘poignant’, ‘ominous’, ‘melancholic’, ‘tense’, ‘foreboding’, ‘serene’, ‘sinister’, and ’empathetic’.
考官对那些能从指定段落各处引用一系列证据,而不仅仅是开头几行的学生印象深刻。在文本中移动,追踪氛围或人物的发展过程,并展现出对效果如何积聚、达到顶峰甚至可能消退的认知。用于评价的高级词汇包括“尖锐的”、“不祥的”、“忧郁的”、“紧张的”、“预兆性的”、“平静的”、“邪恶的”和“共情的”等。
7. Synthesis and Comparison (AO3) | 综合与比较
Paper 2 Questions 2 and 4 both involve working with two texts, but they test different skills. Question 2 (8 marks) is a synthesis question: you must summarise the differences or similarities between the two texts on a given topic. This is purely an AO1 task — do not analyse language or structure here. Instead, present a clear, concise summary that draws on both texts equally, using short embedded references or paraphrases.
试卷二的问题 2 和问题 4 都涉及处理两篇文本,但它们测试不同的技能。问题 2(8 分)是一道综合题:你必须总结两篇文本在某个给定主题上的异同。这纯粹是一个 AO1 任务——这里不要分析语言或结构。相反,呈现一个清晰、简洁的总结,平等地利用两篇文本,使用简短的嵌入式引用或转述。
A perfect Q2 response might start: ‘Both Source A and Source B describe harsh weather conditions, but while Source A focuses on the physical dangers of a blizzard, Source B emphasises the psychological isolation caused by relentless rain.’ Then, provide one or two further points of comparison, each supported by a detail from both texts. Avoid lengthy quotations; aim for precise paraphrasing and selection.
一个完美的 Q2 答案可以这样开头:“来源 A 和来源 B 都描述了恶劣的天气条件,但来源 A 侧重于暴风雪的身体危险,而来源 B 则强调了连绵阴雨造成的心理孤独。” 然后,再提供一到两个比较点,每个比较点都用来自两篇文本的细节支持。避免冗长的引用;力求精确的转述和选择。
Question 4 (16 marks) demands comparison of writers’ perspectives and methods. You must discuss both texts simultaneously, weaving together how each writer uses language or structure to convey their viewpoint. A simple ‘Source A does X whereas Source B does Y’ is not enough; you need to explore the nuance: ‘While Smith adopts a hyperbolic, impassioned tone to criticise the government’s inaction, Jones employs understated and ironical commentary, which arguably makes his argument more devastating.’
问题 4(16 分)要求比较作者的观点和方法。你必须同时讨论两篇文本,将每位作者如何使用语言或结构来传达其观点交织在一起进行阐述。一个简单的“来源 A 做了 X,而来源 B 做了 Y”是不够的;你需要探究其细微差别:“史密斯采用了夸张、激昂的语气来批评政府的不作为,而琼斯则运用了轻描淡写和讽刺的评论,这可能使他的论证更具毁灭性。”
Plan your Q4 answer by listing shared themes and contrasting methods. A venn diagram or a two-column table can help you spot overlaps and differences. Ensure your response finishes with a strong concluding statement that summarises the key distinction or similarity in the two writers’ outlooks.
通过列出共同主题和对比方法来规划你的 Q4 答案。维恩图或两栏表格可以帮助你发现重叠和差异。确保你的回答以一个有力的结论性陈述结束,该陈述总结两位作者观点中的关键区别或相似之处。
8. Creative Writing: Descriptive and Narrative (AO5/AO6) | 创意写作:描写与叙述
Paper 1 Section B gives you a choice of a descriptive or a narrative task, usually linked thematically to the reading extract. You have 45 minutes, and 40 marks are up for grabs. Many high scorers choose description because it allows them to focus on crafting rich imagery without the pressure of an intricate plot. However, a well-structured narrative with a clear beginning, middle, and end can be equally effective.
试卷一 B 部分让你在描写或叙述任务中选择一个,通常会与阅读节选在主题上相联系。你有 45 分钟,40 分等你拿。许多高分考生选择描写,因为这让他们能够专注于营造丰富的意象,而不必承受构建复杂情节的压力。然而,一个结构良好、有清晰开头、中间和结尾的叙述同样可以很有效。
If describing, choose a specific moment and zoom in on sensory details. Use a ‘zoom out, zoom in, zoom further in’ technique: start with a wide view of a scene, then narrow to a single person or object, finally focusing on a tiny but telling detail (a droplet of water trembling on a leaf). This creates a natural cinematic structure and demonstrates deliberate organisation, hitting AO5.
如果选择描写,挑选一个具体时刻,并聚焦于感官细节。使用“拉远、推近、再推近”的技巧:从一个场景的全景开始,然后缩小到一个人或物体,最后聚焦在一个微小但富有揭示性的细节上(比如一滴在树叶上颤抖的水珠)。这创造了一种自然的电影式结构,并展示了有意识的组织,从而命中 AO5。
For narrative, avoid clichés such as ‘I woke up and it was all a dream.’ Instead, begin in the middle of action or with a compelling image. Create a character with a distinct voice and a small but meaningful conflict. You do not have space for a long saga; a vignette or a slice of life works beautifully. Aim for a circular ending that echoes an image or phrase from the opening.
对于叙述,避免像“我醒来发现一切都是梦”这样的陈词滥调。相反,从行动中间或一个引人入胜的画面开始。创造一个拥有鲜明声音和一个微小但有意义的冲突的角色。你没有空间写长篇传奇;一个生活片段或小插曲就恰到好处。力求一个环形结尾,呼应开头的某个画面或短语。
Vocabulary is your powerhouse for AO6. Use powerful verbs (strode, whispered, shattered), precise adjectives (amber, dilapidated, pristine), and original similes or metaphors. However, never force in ‘wow’ words that feel unnatural; clarity and control matter more than a thesaurus overdose. One well-placed, striking image is worth ten purple prose adjectives.
词汇是你在 AO6 上的动力源泉。使用有力的动词(strode, whispered, shattered)、精确的形容词(amber, dilapidated, pristine)和原创的明喻或隐喻。然而,永远不要强行塞入那些感觉不自然的“惊叹”词汇;清晰和掌控力比过度依赖同义词词典更重要。一个恰当而惊人的意象,胜过十个辞藻华丽的形容词。
9. Writing to Present a Viewpoint (AO5/AO6) | 表达观点的写作
Paper 2 Section B requires you to produce a transactional text in which you present a clear viewpoint: it could be an article for a newspaper, a letter to a local council, a speech for a school assembly, or a leaflet. You must demonstrate a sophisticated awareness of audience, purpose, and form. The tone must be matched to the reader and the medium — a speech might use more rhetorical questions and repetition than a formal letter.
试卷二 B 部分要求你写一篇应用文,在其中表达一个清晰的观点:可以是一篇报纸文章、一封给地方议会的信、一篇在学校集会上的演讲,或者一份传单。你必须展示出对受众、目的和体裁的成熟认知。语气必须与读者和媒介相匹配——演讲可能比正式信函使用更多的修辞问句和重复。
Plan your argument before writing. Decide on 3–4 clear points, each forming a paragraph. Use a structure like: engaging opening (hook the reader with a provocative statement, anecdote, or fact) → body paragraphs arguing for your view with counter-arguments addressed → powerful conclusion with a call to action or a memorable final thought. This demonstrates AO5’s emphasis on organisation and discourse markers.
在写作前规划你的论点。确定 3 到 4 个清晰的要点,每个要点构成一个段落。使用如下结构:引人入胜的开头(用挑衅性的陈述、轶事或事实吸引读者)→ 主体段落论证你的观点,并对反方观点进行回应 → 有力的结论,带有行动号召或令人难忘的最后思考。这展示了 AO5 对组织和话语标记的强调。
Include a range of persuasive devices, but subtlety is key. Direct address (‘you’), rhetorical questions, rule of three, anecdotes, expert opinions, and counter-arguments all have a place. However, avoid the trap of simply declaring ‘I am using a rhetorical question here’ — the technique must serve the argument, not the other way round.
运用一系列说服性手段,但微妙是关键。直接称呼(“你”)、修辞问句、三的法则、轶事、专家意见和反方观点都有一席之地。然而,要避免简单地宣称“我在这里使用了一个修辞问句”的陷阱——技巧必须为论证服务,而不是反过来。
For the highest AO6 marks, showcase a range of sentence structures: a short, punchy sentence for impact; a complex sentence with subordinate clauses to build a reasoned case; and perhaps a periodic sentence that builds suspense before a final revelation. Accurate spelling and punctuation, especially apostrophes and commas, are essential. Proofread for at least 3–5 minutes at the end.
为了获得最高分的 AO6,展示一系列的句子结构:一个短小精悍的句子以求冲击力;一个带有从句的复合句来构建合理的论证;或许还可以用一个圆周句,在最终揭示前营造悬念。准确的拼写和标点,尤其是撇号和逗号,至关重要。最后至少留出 3 到 5 分钟进行校对。
10. Time Management and Planning | 时间管理与规划
Effective time management is worth as much as subject knowledge. For both papers, you have 1 hour 45 minutes. A widely recommended breakdown is: 15 minutes reading and annotating, then 45 minutes for the remaining reading questions (adjusted for Paper 1 Q4 and Paper 2 Q3/Q4), and 45 minutes for the writing section. This means being ruthless: if you overspend on an 8-mark question, you will rob marks from a 20-mark or 40-mark task.
有效的时间管理价值不亚于学科知识。对于两份试卷,你都有 1 小时 45 分钟。一个广泛推荐的时间分配是:15 分钟阅读和注释,然后用 45 分钟完成剩余的阅读题(根据试卷一的 Q4 和试卷二的 Q3/Q4 进行调整),再用 45 分钟完成写作部分。这意味着要果断:如果你在一道 8 分的题上超时,你就是在从 20 分或 40 分的任务中抢分。
Create a personal timing plan and practise it under timed conditions at home. For instance, for Paper 1: Q1 – 4 mins; Q2 – 10 mins; Q3 – 10 mins; Q4 – 22 mins; Q5 – 45 mins (5 mins planning, 35 mins writing, 5 mins checking). For Paper
