1. Motion and Kinematics | 运动学

v = u + at

This equation links final velocity (v), initial velocity (u), acceleration (a) and time (t) for uniformly accelerated motion. It is used when three of the variables are known to find the fourth.

该方程将匀加速运动中的末速度(v)、初速度(u)、加速度(a)和时间(t)联系起来。当已知其中三个量时,可求第四个量。

s = ut + ½at2

This calculates displacement (s) when initial velocity, acceleration and time are known. Displacement is a vector quantity measured in metres (m).

v2 = u2 + 2as

This links final velocity, initial velocity, acceleration and displacement, without involving time. Useful when time is not given.

Average speed = total distance / total time. For uniformly accelerated motion, it also equals (u + v) / 2.

F = ma

Newton’s Second Law: the net force (F) on an object equals its mass (m) multiplied by its acceleration (a). Force is measured in newtons (N).
