2. Socialisation and Identity | 社会化与身份

Socialisation: The lifelong process through which individuals learn and internalise the culture, norms, and values of their society.

Primary Socialisation: The initial phase of learning that takes place in early childhood, mainly within the family, where basic norms, language, and identity are formed.

Culture: The shared way of life of a society or group, including language, customs, beliefs, and material objects.

Status: The social position a person holds within a group or society, which carries certain expectations for behaviour.

Ascribed Status: A position assigned at birth or involuntarily later in life, such as gender, race, or royalty.
