1. Understand the AQA Syllabus Inside Out | 彻底吃透AQA教学大纲

The first non‑negotiable step is to print the official AQA specification and make it your revision map. Go through each topic and highlight command words like ‘prepare’, ‘calculate’, and ‘comment’, because they tell you exactly what the exam will demand. Cross‑reference every past paper question back to a syllabus point — this shows you which areas carry the heaviest weighting and where examiners often set traps.

Break the content into manageable blocks: fundamentals (accounting equation, double‑entry), source documents and books of prime entry, ledgers and trial balance, adjustments (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, bad debts), financial statements, ratio analysis, and club accounts. Create a checklist and tick each block only when you can explain it to a friend without notes. This active recall forces deeper learning and prevents the illusion of mastery.

2. Master the Accounting Equation and Double‑Entry from Day One |

The accounting equation — Assets = Capital + Liabilities — is the backbone of every transaction you will ever record. Before you put pen to paper for any entry, ask yourself: how does this transaction change the equation? This habit prevents illogical entries and helps you spot errors when a trial balance refuses to balance. Remember, every debit must have a matching credit; the equation is your guarantee of that.

For double‑entry, use the mnemonic DEAD CLIC: Debit Expenses, Assets, Drawings; Credit Liabilities, Income, Capital. Draw T‑accounts for scenarios such as buying inventory on credit, paying rent by cheque, and introducing a laptop as capital. Label the debit and credit sides clearly, and write a brief narrative beside each entry. Over time, the rhythm of debits left, credits right becomes second nature.

3. Become Fluent in Source Documents and Books of Prime Entry |

Before any entry reaches the ledger, it starts with a source document. You must be able to recognise invoices, credit notes, cheques, receipts, and bank statements, and know which book of prime
