📚 IGCSE CCEA German: Grammar Formula Quick Reference | IGCSE CCEA 德语:语法公式速查手册

The IGCSE CCEA German exam demands a reliable command of grammatical structures. This quick reference handbook organises essential rules as ‘formulas’ — predictable patterns that function like theorems in mathematics, enabling you to construct accurate sentences, decode reading texts, and produce fluent written and spoken German. The handbook covers verb conjugation blueprints, case and gender systems, word order templates, and connecting logic for complex sentences. Use it to reinforce memory and as a last‑minute check before assessments.

IGCSE CCEA 德语考试要求扎实的语法基础。本速查手册将核心规则整理成“公式”——这些可预测的结构如同数学定理,帮助你准确造句、理解阅读文本并流利表达。手册涵盖动词变位蓝图、性与格体系、语序模板以及复合句的连接逻辑,可用于巩固记忆,也可在考前快速回顾。

1. Present Tense Verb Conjugation Formula | 现在时动词变位公式

Regular German verbs follow a fixed conjugation blueprint in the present tense. Remove the infinitive ending -en to reveal the stem. Then attach the personal endings: -e, -st, -t, -en, -t, -en. If the stem ends in -d, -t, -n or -m, an extra -e- is inserted before the -st and -t endings to aid pronunciation. The formula is: stem + ending, with a helper vowel where needed.

规则德语动词的现在时遵循固定变位蓝图。去掉不定式词尾 -en 得到词干,然后加上人称词尾:-e, -st, -t, -en, -t, -en。若词干以 -d, -t, -n-m 结尾,为使发音流畅,在 -st-t 前需插入额外的 -e-。公式为:词干 + 词尾,必要时添加辅助元音。

Person machen (to make) arbeiten (to work)
ich mache arbeite
du machst arbeitest
er/sie/es macht arbeitet
wir machen arbeiten
ihr macht arbeitet
sie/Sie machen arbeiten

The same formula applies to most verbs, but a few very common verbs have vowel changes in the du and er/sie/es forms (e.g. lesen → du liest, er liest; fahren → du fährst, er fährt). Learn these as separate ‘irregular formulas’.

该公式适用于大部分动词,但少数高频动词在 duer/sie/es 人称中会发生元音变化(如 lesen → du liest, er liest;fahren → du fährst, er fährt)。请将这些作为独立的“不规则公式”来记忆。

2. Perfect Tense Formula | 完成时公式

The perfect tense expresses completed past events and is frequently used in spoken German. The formula is: auxiliary verb (haben or sein, conjugated in present) + past participle. The past participle is placed at the very end of the clause. Regular weak verbs form the past participle with ge- + stem + -t (e.g. machen → gemacht). Strong verbs have irregular participles often ending in -en and sometimes with a stem vowel change (e.g. schreiben → geschrieben).

完成时用于表达已完成的过去事件,在口语中使用频率很高。公式为:助动词(haben 或 sein 的现在时变位)+ 过去分词。过去分词放在句末。规则弱变化动词的过去分词由 ge- + 词干 + -t 构成(如 machen → gemacht)。强变化动词有不规则过去分词,常以 -en 结尾,有时词干元音发生改变(如 schreiben → geschrieben)。

Use sein as the auxiliary when the main verb indicates movement from A to B or a change of state (e.g. Ich bin nach Berlin gefahren. Er ist eingeschlafen.). All other verbs typically take haben. This choice is a critical part of the formula.

当主要动词表示位置移动或状态变化时,使用 sein 作助动词(如 Ich bin nach Berlin gefahren. Er ist eingeschlafen.)。其余动词通常用 haben。这一选择是该公式的关键部分。

3. Future Tense Construction | 将来时结构

The future tense is formed with the auxiliary verb werden (conjugated in the present) plus the infinitive of the main verb. The infinitive always stands at the end of the clause. The formula reads: werden (conjugated) + … + infinitive. Word order places werden in the second position of a main clause.

将来时由助动词 werden(现在时变位)加主要动词原形构成。不定式始终位于从句末尾。公式为:werden(变位)+ … + 不定式。在主句中,werden 占据第二位。

Example: Ich werde morgen das Buch lesen. (I will read the book tomorrow.) The infinitive lesen appears at the end after time and object. This formula works even when other elements, such as modal verbs or a negation, are present; only the infinitive slot remains at the end.

例句:Ich werde morgen das Buch lesen.(我明天会读那本书。)不定式 lesen 出现在时间状语和宾语之后。即使句子中包含情态动词或否定成分,不定式位置仍保持末尾不动;只有不定式占据句末槽。

4. Noun Gender and Case Endings | 名词性与格词尾公式

Every German noun belongs to one of three genders: masculine, feminine, or neuter. The definite article (the) changes according to case (nominative, accusative, dative, genitive). This forms a core formula for sentence construction. Below are the definite articles in a case table.

每个德语名词都归属于三个性之一:阳性、阴性或中性。定冠词根据格(第一格、第四格、第三格、第二格)变化,形成造句的核心公式。下面是定冠词的格变化表。

Case Masculine Feminine Neuter Plural
Nominative der die das die
Accusative den die das die
Dative dem der dem den (+n on noun)
Genitive des (+s/es) der des (+s/es) der

The indefinite article (ein, eine, ein) follows a very similar pattern, except there is no plural indefinite article. The case‐and‐gender formula must be applied also after certain prepositions and for adjective agreement.

不定冠词(ein, eine, ein)的变化规律与之十分相似,只是没有复数形式。在特定介词之后以及形容词变格时也必须应用这一“格-性公式”。

5. Adjective Endings Table (Formula) | 形容词词尾变化表 (公式)

Adjective endings in German depend on the preceding article (definite, indefinite, or no article) as well as case, gender, and number. The system can be memorised as a set of formulas. When a definite article is present, the adjective takes the weak ending -e or -en. When an indefinite article (or possessive) precedes, the adjective carries the strong ending on the article‑less slot, and -en elsewhere. With no article, the adjective shows the full strong ending.

德语形容词词尾取决于前面的冠词(定冠词、不定冠词或无冠词)以及格、性、数。整个体系可作为一组公式记忆。有定冠词时,形容词采用弱变化词尾 -e-en。前面是不定冠词(或物主冠词)时,形容词在缺少冠词信息的格位上使用强变化词尾,其余情况用 -en。无冠词时,形容词直接显示完整的强变化词尾。

Case Der‑word (weak) Ein‑word (mixed) No article (strong)
Nom. masc. der große Mann ein großer Mann großer Mann
Acc. masc. den großen Mann einen großen Mann großen Mann
Dat. fem. der schönen Frau einer schönen Frau schöner Frau

This table works as a reference formula: locate the article type, the case, and the gender at a glance, then apply the correct adjective ending.

该表可作为速查公式使用:快速定位冠词类型、格和性,然后套上正确的形容词词尾。

6. Word Order in Main Clauses | 主句语序公式

In a German main clause, the conjugated verb must always stand in the second position. The first position can be taken by the subject, an adverb, an object, or a subordinate clause. The rest of the sentence follows a typical order: time – manner – place (TeKaMoLo rule). The formula is: Position 1 (any element) + Verb (conjugated) + Subject (if not in Position 1) + time + manner + place + other elements. If the subject is not in Position 1, it moves directly after the verb.

在德语主句中,变位动词必须始终处于 第二位。第一位可以由主语、副词、宾语或从句充当。句子的其余成分通常按照 时间 – 方式 – 地点(TeKaMoLo 规则)排序。公式为:第一位(任意成分)+ 变位动词 + 主语(若不在第一位)+ 时间 + 方式 + 地点 + 其他成分。若主语不在第一位,它紧跟在动词之后。

Example: Morgen kaufe ich mit meiner Mutter im Supermarkt ein. Here Morgen is in Position 1, kaufe is the verb in Position 2, the subject ich comes third, then manner, place, and the separable prefix ein at the end.

例句:Morgen kaufe ich mit meiner Mutter im Supermarkt ein.(明天我和妈妈在超市购物。)这里 Morgen 在第一位,动词 kaufe 在第二位,主语 ich 在第三位,之后是方式和地点,可分前缀 ein 位于句末。

7. Subordinate Clause Word Order | 从句语序公式

Subordinate clauses push the conjugated verb to the very end. The clause is introduced by a subordinating conjunction (e.g. weil, dass, obwohl, wenn, als). The formula is: conjunction + subject + … + verb (at end). Any separable prefix reattaches to the verb at the end. Modal verbs or auxiliary verbs come after the main verb in the final position.

从句会把变位动词推到 句末。从句由从属连词(如 weil, dass, obwohl, wenn, als)引导。公式为:连词 + 主语 + … + 动词(在末尾)。可分动词的前缀会与动词在末尾重新合并。情态动词或助动词位于主要动词之后,共同占据末位。

Example: Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich krank bin. The conjunction weil sends the verb bin to the end. In a clause with a separable verb: …, obwohl er heute früh aufsteht.

例句:Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich krank bin.(我待在家,因为我病了。)连词 weil 把动词 bin 送到了末尾。含可分动词的例子:…, obwohl er heute früh aufsteht.(尽管他今天早起床。)

8. Modal Verbs and Infinitive Placement | 情态动词与不定式位置公式

Modal verbs (dürfen, können, mögen, müssen, sollen, wollen) modify the meaning of a main verb. The formula in a main clause is: modal verb (conjugated, Position 2) + … + main verb infinitive (at end). The infinitive does not take zu. In subordinate clauses, the modal verb moves to the end alongside the infinitive, with the conjugated modal verb appearing last.

情态动词(dürfen, können, mögen, müssen, sollen, wollen)改变主要动词的含义。主句中的公式为:情态动词(变位,第二位)+ … + 主要动词原形(在末尾)。原形不加 zu。在从句中,情态动词连同原形一起移至末尾,且变位的情态动词置于最后。

Example: Ich kann gut schwimmen. The modal kann sits in second position, and schwimmen ends the sentence. Past tense with modal: Ich habe das machen müssen. (double infinitive at end).

例句:Ich kann gut schwimmen.(我游泳游得好。)情态动词 kann 在第二位,schwimmen 在句末。带情态动词的完成时:Ich habe das machen müssen.(我不得不做那件事。),句末出现双不定式。

9. Preposition Case Rules | 介词格规则公式

Prepositions in German govern specific cases. Memorising these case assignments is essential because they trigger the case of the following noun phrase. Accusative‑only prepositions: durch, für, gegen, ohne, um. Dative‑only prepositions: aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu. Two‑way prepositions: an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen. They take the accusative when movement/direction is involved (wohin?) and the dative when describing a static location (wo?).

德语介词支配特定格,记住这些格分配至关重要,因为它们决定后续名词短语的格。只接宾格的介词:durch, für, gegen, ohne, um。只接与格的介词:aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu。两可介词:an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen。当涉及运动或方向时(wohin?),它们支配宾格;描述静态位置时(wo?),则支配与格。

Formula for two‑way prepositions: accusative = destination/motion; dative = stationary location. As a quick memory aid: Ich gehe in die Stadt (acc.) vs. Ich bin in der Stadt (dat.).

两可介词的判断公式:宾格 = 目标/运动;与格 = 静止位置。快速记忆口诀:Ich gehe in die Stadt(宾格,我走进城)对比 Ich bin in der Stadt(与格,我在城里)。

10. Comparative and Superlative Forms | 比较级与最高级形式

Adjectives form the comparative by adding -er to the root, followed by the appropriate adjective ending for case and gender. The superlative is normally formed with am + adjective + -sten when used adverbially, or with the definite article and -ste ending before a noun. The formula for the comparative is: adjective + -er (+ case ending). For the superlative: am + adjective + -sten (adverb); der/die/das + adjective + -ste (before noun).

形容词的比较级通过在词根后加 -er 构成,再加上与格和性相适应的形容词词尾。最高级在教育副词时使用 am + 形容词 + -sten,置于名词前则用定冠词加 -ste 词尾。比较级公式:形容词 + -er(+ 格词尾)。最高级公式:am + 形容词 + -sten(副词);der/die/das + 形容词 + -ste(名词前)。

  • schnell → schneller → am schnellsten (fast, faster, fastest) | schnell → schneller → am schnellsten(快,更快,最快)
  • groß → größer → am größten (note umlaut on root vowel) | groß → größer → am größten(注意词干元音变音)
  • gut → besser → am besten (irregular, must be memorised) | gut → besser → am besten(不规则,需特殊记忆)

11. Subjunctive II (Conditional) Formation | 第二虚拟式 (条件式) 构成

The subjunctive II (Konjunktiv II) is used for hypothetical situations, polite requests, and wishes. There are two main formulas. Formula A: würden + infinitive (e.g. Ich würde gehen.). This is the most straightforward and is very common in spoken German. Formula B: use the special subjunctive form of the verb, often derived from the simple past stem with umlaut added and -e, -est, -e, -en endings (e.g. Ich käme, du kämest). For haben and sein, the forms are hätte and wäre. The würden‑infinitive formula is widely accepted at IGCSE level for most verbs.

第二虚拟式用于假设情况、礼貌请求和愿望。主要有两种公式。公式 A:würden + 不定式(如 Ich würde gehen.)。这最直接,在口语中十分常见。公式 B:使用动词的特殊虚拟形式,通常由过去时词干加变音并加 -e, -est, -e, -en 词尾构成(如 ich käme, du kämest)。haben 和 sein 的形式为 hätte 和 wäre。在 IGCSE 层级,大部分动词可使用 würden + 不定式公式。

Example: Wenn ich mehr Zeit hätte, würde ich ein Buch lesen. The conditional clause uses hätte (subjunctive II of haben), while the main clause uses würde … lesen.

例句:Wenn ich mehr Zeit hätte, würde ich ein Buch lesen.(如果我有更多时间,我会读本书。)条件从句用 hätte(haben 的第二虚拟式),主句用 würde … lesen。

12. Common Conjunctions and Their Effects | 常见连词及其语序影响

Conjunctions can be divided into coordinating and subordinating types, each carrying a distinct word‑order formula. Coordinating conjunctions (und, aber, oder, denn, sondern) occupy position zero; they do not change the word order of the clause that follows. The verb remains in second position. Formula: main clause + coordinating conjunction + main clause (verb second).

连词可分为并列和从属两类,各有不同的语序公式。并列连词(und, aber, oder, denn, sondern)占据零位,不改变后续分句的语序,动词仍居第二位。公式:主句 + 并列连词 + 主句(动词第二位)

Subordinating conjunctions (weil, dass, obwohl, wenn, als, bevor, nachdem, während, ob, damit, sodass) send the conjugated verb to the end of their clause. Formula: main clause + subordinating conjunction + clause (verb at end). When the subordinate clause comes first,
