1. Basic Sentence Structure Formula | 基本句式公式
Every Chinese sentence can be modelled as: (Adverbial) + Subject + (Adverbial) + Predicate + (Complement) + Object. The core is Subject–Predicate–Object, while modifiers slot in with strict word-order rules. Memorise the template to spot missing components or jumbled sequences in error-correction questions.
所有汉语句子都可以归结为:(状语)+ 主语 + (状语)+ 谓语 + (补语)+ 宾语。核心是主谓宾,修饰成分必须按照严格的语序嵌入。记住这个模板,就能在改错题中一眼发现成分残缺或语序混乱。
Formula: Adverbial + S + Adverbial + V + Complement + O
Key rule: time adverbials precede place adverbials, and both usually come before the verb. Adjectives as attributes always directly precede the noun they modify.
关键规则:时间状语先于地点状语,且一般都放在动词之前。作定语的形容词永远直接放在它所修饰的名词前面。
Example: 我今天在图书馆认真地读完了两本书。(I today at the library carefully read-finished two books.) The English word order would be impossible in Chinese; always place the subject, then time, place, manner, and finally the verb phrase.
例句:我今天在图书馆认真地读完了两本书。英语的语序在中文里完全不成立;一定要把主语、时间、地点、方式依次排好,最后才是动词部分。
2. Collocation Formulas for Conjunctions | 关联词搭配公式
Correlative conjunctions in Chinese work in fixed pairs. Using the wrong partner is a common source of sentence faults. The table below gives the must-know pairings treated as unbreakable ‘formulae’.
汉语关联词往往成对出现,搭错伴侣是病句的常见根源。下表列出了必须掌握的固定搭配,每条都是一道不容拆散的“公式”。
| 逻辑关系Logic | Formula Pair | Example |
|---|---|---|
但是…’ creates hybrid sentences that score zero for logical cohesion. Always check both halves of the pair are present and compatible.
误用“虽然…所以…”或“因为…但是…”会制造出逻辑混乱的杂糅句,在考试中会直接失分。务必核查成对关联词前后是否匹配且完整。
3. Error Diagnosis Theorem | 病句诊断定理
Theorem 1: If a sentence has a subject but no matching predicate, or a verb without an object when the sense demands one, it is ‘incomplete’. Check every clause with the S+V+O formula.
定理一:如果一个句子有主语却缺谓语,或动词后面本该有宾语却空白,即为“成分残缺”。用主谓宾公式逐项核对每个分句。
Theorem 2: When two verb structures are forcibly merged without a conjunction or a pause, it is ‘sentence blend’. Separate them or insert an appropriate conjunction pair.
定理二:两个谓语结构硬凑在一起,既无连词又无停顿,则为“句式杂糅”。应当拆开或插入合适的关联词。
Theorem 3: Ambiguity often arises from misplaced adverbials or unclear pronoun references. Move the adverbial closer to the word it modifies, and replace pronouns if the antecedent is ambiguous.
定理三:歧义常因状语错位或代词指代不明引发。把状语移至所修饰的词语附近,若先行词不清就改用具体名词替换代词。
Apply these three theorems during proofreading. They cover the most frequent errors tested in AS Chinese editing sections.
在校对环节运用这三条定理,就能覆盖AS中文改错题中最常见的语病类型。
4. Rhetorical Device Identification Formulae | 修辞手法辨识公式
For the reading comprehension and commentary tasks, you must name and explain rhetorical devices. Treat each as a mini-formula combining device + effect + textual clue.
在阅读理解和赏析简答题中,你常常需要指出并解释修辞手法。每条手法都可以看作一个“修辞公式”,包含手法 + 效果 + 文本线索。
Simile (比喻): A links to B via ‘像、好像、仿佛、似的’. Formula: Simile = A + comparison word + B. Effect: makes abstract concrete. E.g., ‘月亮像玉盘’ — the moon’s roundness and brightness are vividly conveyed.
比喻:A与B通过“像、好像、仿佛、似的”等词连接。公式:比喻 = A + 比喻词 + B。效果:化抽象为具体。如“月亮像玉盘”,月亮的圆润与皎洁跃然纸上。
Personification (拟人): Non-human entity + human action/emotion. Formula: Object + verb like ‘笑、哭、跳舞’. Effect: creates intimacy and vitality.
拟人:非人之物 + 人的动作或情感。公式:物 + “笑/哭/跳舞”等动词。效果:赋予事物生命,增强亲切感与感染力。
Parallelism (排比): Three or more structurally similar phrases. Formula: repeat structure X三个或以上. Effect: rhythm, emphasis, emotional build-up. Identify the repeated pattern and state the cumulative impact.
排比:三个或以上结构相似的短语连续出现。公式:重复结构 ×3⁺。效果:节奏感强,层层递进,气势磅礴。答题时要点出重复的格式与叠加效果。
5. Punctuation as Logical Operators | 标点逻辑运算符定律
Punctuation marks function like logical operators in coding. A full stop divides complete ideas; a comma separates clauses within a thought; a semicolon links parallel statements; a dash signals explanation or abrupt change. Misplaced stops often cause run-on sentences or fragments.
标点符号就像写代码时的逻辑运算符:句号分隔完整的意思;逗号断开同一思想内部的短句;分号连接并列的分句;破折号引出解释或转折。点错位置常常导致一逗到底的流水句或无端碎裂。
Theorem: One complete subject-predicate unit = one sentence; use 。 not , at the logical boundary.
定理:一个完整的主谓结构就是一个句子;在逻辑终点必须使用句号,而非逗号。
In AS composition, an essay littered with comma splices will lose marks under ‘language accuracy’. Always read your sentence aloud: if you need to pause for more than a beat, consider a full stop.
在AS作文中,满篇的逗号粘连会在“语言准确度”评分项上被扣分。写完句子不妨出声读一遍:如果停顿远超一拍,就该考虑换成句号了。
6. Classical Chinese Function Word Laws | 文言虚词定律
Even if your syllabus focuses on modern Chinese, AS exams often include a short classical passage (especially in First Language). Master the high-frequency function words as laws.
即使你主要学习现代汉语,AS考试也可能含有一小段文言文(尤其第一语言卷)。把高频虚词当作定律来掌握吧。
之: means ‘of / him / her / it / to go’. Law: before a noun it’s possessive; after a verb it’s often a pronoun or indicates movement. Context decides.
之:表“的 / 他 / 她 / 它 / 往”。定律:在名词前一般表所属,在动词后常作代词或表示“到……去”。由语境决定。
其: means ‘his / her / its / that / such’. Law: used as a possessive or a demonstrative. ‘其’ often refers back to the subject of the previous clause.
其:表“他的 / 她的 / 它的 / 那 / 那样”。定律:用作领属或指示代词,经常回指前一分句的主语。
而: connects verbs/adjectives: and, but, then, yet. Law: marks a logical relation — often contrast or progression — and never stands at the start of a main clause in classical texts.
而:连接动词或形容词:表“并且、但是、然后、却”。定律:表示逻辑关系——常为转折或递进——在文言中极少独立开启主句。
7. Paragraph Expansion Formula: PEEL | 段落展开公式:PEEL法则
In argumentative essays, every body paragraph should follow the PEEL sequence: Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link. This formula ensures cohesion and prevents tangential arguments.
议论文中的每个主体段落都应遵循PEEL顺序:论点(Point)、论据(Evidence)、解释(Explanation)、扣题(Link)。这条公式能保证段落连贯,避免偏题。
Step 1 — Point: Start with a clear topic sentence that states the main idea of the paragraph. For example, ‘Reading literature cultivates empathy.’
第一步——论点:用一个明确的主旨句开启段落,如“阅读文学作品能培养同理心”。
Step 2 — Evidence: Provide concrete examples, data, or quotation. ‘A study by X University found that…’
第二步——论据:提供具体事例、数据或引文,如“X大学的研究发现……”。
Step 3 — Explanation: Analyse how the evidence supports the point. ‘This is because narrative immersion allows readers to simulate others’ mental states.’
第三步——解释:分析论据如何支撑论点,“因为沉浸于叙述能让人模拟他人的心理状态”。
Step 4 — Link: Tie back to the thesis or transition to the next paragraph. ‘Hence, literature serves as a laboratory for emotional intelligence.’
第四步——扣题:回扣全文中心或过渡至下一段,“因此,文学堪称情商的演练场”。
8. Argumentative Essay Structure Theorem | 议论文结构定理
Theorem: An effective AS Chinese argumentative essay follows a 5-paragraph archetype: Introduction (hook + thesis) → Argument 1 → Argument 2 → Counterargument & Rebuttal → Conclusion. This skeleton works for almost all prompts.
定理:一篇高效的AS中文议论文可以套用五段式原型:引论(引子+中心论点) → 论点一 → 论点二 → 反论与反驳 → 结论。这副骨架适合几乎所有题目。
In the introduction, use a rhetorical question or a striking fact as the ‘hook’, then state your standpoint clearly using ‘我认为 / 我坚信’. The body paragraphs must each pivot on a sub-thesis placed at the very beginning.
在引言中用反问句或醒目的现象作“钩子”,再以“我认为 / 我坚信”亮明立场。主体段落每一段都要在开头树起一个小论点。
The counterargument paragraph shows examiners your critical thinking. Introduce an opposing view with ‘有人可能会说’, then refute it with ‘然而’ and stronger evidence. Conclude by restating the thesis and offering a forward-looking statement.
反论段能向考官展示你的辩证思维。用“有人可能会说”引出对立观点,再用“然而”和更有力的证据将其驳倒。结尾重申论点,再适当展望。
9. Reading Comprehension Answering Formula | 阅读理解答题公式
For short-answer reading questions, apply the LPE Formula: Locate, Paraphrase, Evaluate. This converts raw text into high-scoring responses.
回答阅读理解简答题时,套用LPE公式:定位(Locate)、转述(Paraphrase)、评价(Evaluate)。它能将原始文本转化为高分答案。
Locate: Scan the passage for keywords from the question. Highlight the exact sentences that contain the answer. Never answer from memory alone — evidence matters.
定位:快速扫读文章,找到题目中的关键词,标出包含答案的原句。绝不可仅凭记忆作答——文本证据至关重要。
Paraphrase: Rewrite the located information in your own words without altering meaning. This demonstrates understanding and avoids direct copying penalties.
转述:用你自己的语言改写定位到的信息,不改原意。这既体现理解,又能避免照抄扣分。
Evaluate: Where required, add a brief evaluation — emotional effect, author’s purpose, or stylistic function. For a metaphor, state ‘this imagery conveys…’.
评价:需要时,加上简短的评价——情感效果、作者意图或修辞功能。对于比喻,可以指出“这一意象传达了……”。
10. Essay Topic Deconstruction Formula | 作文审题分解公式
Misreading the prompt is the fastest route to an off-topic essay. Use the KFC Formula: Keywords, Focus, Constraint. Parse every prompt with these three filters before sketching your plan.
审题失误是离题作文的第一推手。使用KFC公式——关键词(Keywords)、焦点(Focus)、限制(Constraint)——在列提纲前用这三个滤网解析每个题目。
Keywords: Underline content words, especially nouns and verbs. In ‘论网络对青少年社交能力的影响’, key words are ‘网络’, ‘青少年’, ‘社交能力’, ‘影响’.
关键词:划出实词,尤其名词和动词。如“论网络对青少年社交能力的影响”,关键词就是“网络”“青少年”“社交能力”“影响”。
Focus: Determine the core task. Are you asked to discuss causes, effects, solutions, or to compare? The focus word here is ‘影响’, so both positive and negative effects must be addressed.
焦点:明确核心任务。题目要你讨论原因、影响、解决方案,还是比较?这里的焦点词是“影响”,所以正反两方面都要谈及。
Constraint: Identify any limiting conditions. ‘青少年’ restricts the age group; ‘社交能力’ narrows the scope to interpersonal skills, not academic performance. Ignoring constraints leads to irrelevant examples.
限制:找出限定条件。“青少年”限定了年龄段;“社交能力”把范围锁定在人际交往层面,而非学业成绩。无视限制条件就会举出不相关的例子。
11. Synonym Discrimination Formula | 同义词辨析公式
AS Chinese often tests precise word choice in cloze and writing. Use the 3D Formula: Denotation, Degree, and Domain. Compare near-synonyms across these three axes.
AS中文常在完形填空和写作中考查精准选词。运用3D公式:词义(Denotation)、程度(Degree)、语域(Domain)。从这三个维度辨析近义词。
Denotation: Nuance in core meaning. ‘改进’ (improve by changing flaws) vs ‘改正’ (correct errors) — the former applies to methods, the latter to mistakes.
词义:核心意思的细微差别。“改进”是改变不足使其更好,“改正”是把错误改过来——前者针对方法,后者针对错误。
Degree: Intensity or formality. ‘热爱’ is stronger than ‘喜欢’; ‘悲伤’ is more literary than ‘难过’. Choose the word whose weight matches the context.
程度:强度或正式度。“热爱”比“喜欢”深;“悲伤”比“难过”书面化。选择与语境轻重匹配的那个词。
Domain: Collocation habits. ‘交流经验’ is idiomatic, while ‘交换经验’ sounds awkward; ‘执行命令’ not ‘执行主意’. These collocational pairings must be memorised as fixed chunks.
语域:搭配习惯。“交流经验”是惯用语,“交换经验”则生硬;“执行命令”而非“执行主意”。这种搭配必须成块记忆。
12. Idiom Usage Safety Theorem | 成语使用安全定理
Misapplied idioms can damage coherence. The Safety Theorem states: An idiom is safe to use only when (a) its literal meaning aligns with the contextual image, (b) its emotional tone fits the sentence, and (c) it does not carry hidden negative connotations you overlooked.
误用成语会破坏文气的连贯。安全定理指出:只有同时满足(1)字面义与语境意象一致、(2)感情色彩与句意相符、(3)不含被你忽略的隐性贬义时,一个成语才算是安全的。
For example, ‘罄竹难书’ (too many crimes to record) is heavily negative and must never describe achievements. ‘差强人意’ means barely satisfactory, not disappointing — a frequent trap. Always double-check unfamiliar idioms in a dictionary before using them in an exam essay.
例如,“罄竹难书”是极重贬义,形容罪行多得写不完,绝不能用来描述成就。“差强人意”指大体上还能让人满意,而非令人失望——这是高频陷阱。凡是不熟悉的成语,下笔前务必查证。
When in doubt, substitute a clear phrase or a simile. Never risk an idiom whose implications you are unsure of — adherence to this theorem safeguards your expression marks.
若无绝对把握,宁可用一个明确的短语或打比方来替代。永远不要冒险用自己没把握的成语——遵守这条安全定理,能稳稳守住表达分。
