1. Main Clause Word Order Formula | 主句语序公式

The golden rule: In a declarative main clause, the conjugated verb must always be in the second position. The first position can be the subject, a time expression, or any other element. The verb-second rule does not mean the verb is the second word, but the second idea or constituent.

黄金法则:在陈述主句中,变位动词必须始终处于第二位。第一位可以是主语、时间状语或任何其他成分。动词第二位并不意味着动词是第二个单词,而是第二个“成分”或意群。

Position 1 + Verb (conjugated) + Subject + … + Rest

公式:第一位 + 动词(变位) + 主语 + … + 其余部分

Example: “Morgen fahre ich nach Berlin.” (Tomorrow I’m driving to Berlin.) Notice that “fahre” is the verb, and “ich” follows. If the subject is in position 1, the word order looks more like English: “Ich fahre morgen nach Berlin.”

例:”Morgen fahre ich nach Berlin.”(明天我开车去柏林。)注意动词 “fahre” 在第二位,”ich” 跟随。如果主语在第一位,语序更接近英语:”Ich fahre morgen nach Berlin.”(我明天开车去柏林。)

2. Question Formula (Yes/No and W-Questions) | 疑问句公式(一般疑问句和特殊疑问句)

Yes/No questions: The conjugated verb moves to position 1. No question word is needed. The formula is simply:

一般疑问句:变位动词移至第一位。不需要疑问词。公式非常简单:

Verb (conjugated) + Subject + … + Rest ?

公式:动词(变位) + 主语 + … + 其余部分 ?

Example: “Fährst du nach Berlin?” (Are you driving to Berlin?) and “Hat er das Buch gelesen?” (Has he read the book?).

例:”Fährst du nach Berlin?”(你开车去柏林吗?)和 “Hat er das Buch gelesen?”(他读了那本书吗?)

W-questions: Insert a question word (wer, was, wann, wo, warum, wie, etc.) before the verb. The verb remains in position 2 after the question word.

特殊疑问句:在动词前插入疑问词(wer, was, wann, wo, warum, wie 等)。动词仍位于疑问词之后的第二位。

Question word + Verb (conjugated) + Subject + … + Rest ?

公式:疑问词 + 动词(变位) + 主语 + … + 其余部分 ?

Example: “Wann fährt der Zug?” (When does the train leave?), “Was hast du gemacht?” (What did you do?).

例:”Wann fährt der Zug?”(火车什么时候开?) “Was hast du gemacht?”(你做了什么?)

3. Modal Verb Frame Formula | 情态动词框架公式

When a modal verb (koennen, muessen, wollen, duerfen, sollen, moegen) is used with a main verb infinitive, the modal is conjugated and placed in V2 (or V1 in questions), while the infinitive goes to the very end of the clause. This creates a “verb frame”.

当情态动词(koennen, muessen, wollen, duerfen, sollen, moegen)与主要动词不定式连用时,情态动词变位并置于第二位(或疑问句的第一位),而不定式移至从句句尾,形成“动词框架”。

Subject + Modal verb (conjugated) + … + Infinitive (at end)

公式:主语 + 情态动词(变位) + … + 不定式(句末)

Example: “Ich kann gut schwimmen.” (I can swim well.) “Wir muessen morgen frueh aufstehen.” (We must get up early tomorrow.) The infinitive “schwimmen” and “aufstehen” appear at the end.

例:”Ich kann gut schwimmen.”(我游泳很好。) “Wir muessen morgen frueh aufstehen.”(我们明天必须早起。)不定式 “schwimmen” 和 “aufstehen” 位于句末。

4. Separable Verb Pattern | 可分动词模式

Many German verbs have a separable prefix (an-, auf-, ein-, mit-, vor-, zu-, etc.). In a main clause, the prefix splits from the stem, takes the stressed position, and moves to the very end of the clause. The conjugated stem stays in V2.

许多德语动词有可分前缀(an-, auf-, ein-, mit-, vor-, zu- 等)。在主句中,前缀从词干分离,移至句尾,而变位词干保留在第二位。

Subject + Prefix+stem (conjugated) + … + Prefix (at end)

公式:主语 + 前缀+词干(变位) + … + 前缀(句末)

Example: “Er steht jeden Tag um 7 Uhr auf.” (He gets up every day at 7 o’clock.) The verb is “aufstehen”: “steht” stays in second position, “auf” goes to the end. “Ich kaufe im Supermarkt ein.” (I shop at the supermarket.)

例:”Er steht jeden Tag um 7 Uhr auf.”(他每天7点起床。)动词是 “aufstehen”;”steht” 在第二位,”auf” 移至句末。”Ich kaufe im Supermarkt ein.”(我在超市购物。)

5. Perfect Tense Formula | 完成时公式

The Perfekt (conversational past) is formed with an auxiliary (haben or sein) conjugated in V2 and a past participle at the end. Sein is used for verbs of movement or change of state (e.g. gehen, fahren, aufwachen), while haben is used for most other verbs.

完成时(会话过去时)由助动词 haben 或 sein 变位后置于第二位,过去分词置于句末。表示移动或状态变化的动词(如 gehen, fahren, aufwachen)用 sein,其余多数动词用 haben。

Subject + haben/sein (conjugated) + … + Past participle (at end)

公式:主语 + haben/sein(变位) + … + 过去分词(句末)

Examples: “Ich habe ein Buch gelesen.” (I have read a book.) “Er ist nach Hause gegangen.” (He has gone home.) Regular past participles often start with ge- and end in -t, while irregular ones often end in -en.

例:”Ich habe ein Buch gelesen.”(我读了一本书。) “Er ist nach Hause gegangen.”(他回家了。)规则过去分词常以 ge- 开头,以 -t 结尾;不规则常以 -en 结尾。

6. Adjective Endings Table (The ‘Definite Article + Adjective + Noun’ Theorem) | 形容词词尾表(“定冠词+形容词+名词”定理)

Adjective endings depend on three factors: case, gender, and the type of article or determiner preceding the adjective. The following tables give the weak, mixed, and strong declension patterns.

形容词词尾取决于三个因素:格、性以及前面冠词或限定词的类型。下表列出弱变化、混合变化和强变化模式。

Weak declension (after der, das, die, die; dieser, jeder, etc.)

弱变化(用于 der/das/die/die; dieser, jeder 等之后)

Case Masculine Neuter Feminine Plural
Nominative der gute Wein das gute Buch die gute Milch die guten Leute
Accusative den guten Wein das gute Buch die gute Milch die guten Leute
Dative dem guten Wein dem guten Buch der guten Milch den guten Leuten
Genitive des guten Weines des guten Buches der guten Milch der guten Leute

Mixed declension (after ein, kein, mein, dein, etc.)

混合变化(用于 ein, kein, mein, dein 等之后)

Case Masculine Neuter Feminine
Nominative ein guter Wein ein gutes Buch eine gute Milch
Accusative einen guten Wein ein gutes Buch eine gute Milch
Dative einem guten Wein einem guten Buch einer guten Milch

Strong declension (no article)

强变化(无冠词)

Case Masculine Neuter Feminine Plural
Nominative guter Wein gutes Buch gute Milch gute Leute
Accusative guten Wein gutes Buch gute Milch gute Leute
Dative gutem Wein gutem Buch guter Milch guten Leuten

7. Case and Article Declension (Definite and Indefinite Articles) | 格与冠词变化(定冠词与不定冠词)

The definite article (der, das, die) and indefinite article (ein, kein, and possessives) follow predictable declension tables. These serve as fundamental “formulas” for the four cases.

定冠词 (der, das, die) 和不定冠词 (ein, kein, 物主代词) 遵循可预测的变格表。这些是四大格的根本“公式”。
