📚 A-Level Cambridge German: Formula & Theorem Quick Reference Handbook | A-Level 剑桥德语:公式定理速查手册

This handbook condenses the most important grammatical ‘formulas’ for the Cambridge International A-Level German examination. Use these tables and patterns as a quick reference for verb conjugations, case rules, adjective agreements, word order, and key structures. Each section presents a rule in both English and Chinese, followed by clear examples.

本手册浓缩了剑桥国际 A-Level 德语考试中最重要的语法“公式”。请将这些表格和模式用作动词变位、格规则、形容词搭配、语序和关键结构的快速参考。每个部分都以英文和中文同步呈现规则,并配以清晰示例。

1. Present Tense Regular Verbs | 规则动词现在时变位

For regular German verbs, remove the infinitive ending -en to obtain the stem. Then add the personal endings: ich -e, du -st, er/sie/es -t, wir -en, ihr -t, sie/Sie -en.

对于规则德语动词,去掉不定式词尾 -en 得到词干,然后加上人称词尾:ich -e,du -st,er/sie/es -t,wir -en,ihr -t,sie/Sie -en

Pronoun Ending spielen (to play)
ich -e spiele
du -st spielst
er/sie/es -t spielt
wir -en spielen
ihr -t spielt
sie/Sie -en spielen

If the verb stem ends in -d or -t, an extra -e- is inserted before -st and -t to ease pronunciation: du arbeitest, er arbeitet. Similarly, stems ending in sibilants (s, ss, ß, z) drop the s in the du ending: du reist (from reisen).

如果词干以 -d-t 结尾,则在 -st-t 前插入额外的 -e- 以便发音:du arbeitest,er arbeitet。同样,以咝音(s, ss, ß, z)结尾的词干在 du 人称时会省略 s:du reist(源自 reisen)。

2. Irregular and Strong Verbs (Vowel Change) | 不规则和强变化动词(元音变化)

Strong verbs change the stem vowel in the du and er/sie/es forms of the present tense. The most common patterns are e → i (geben → du gibst, er gibt) and e → ie (lesen → du liest, er liest), as well as a → ä (fahren → du fährst, er fährt).

强变化动词在现在时的 duer/sie/es 形式中会改变词干元音。最常见的模式有 e → i(geben → du gibst,er gibt)和 e → ie(lesen → du liest,er liest),以及 a → ä(fahren → du fährst,er fährt)。

Infinitive Pattern du / er,sie,es Meaning
sprechen e → i sprichst / spricht to speak
essen e → i isst / isst to eat
sehen e → ie siehst / sieht to see
lesen e → ie liest / liest to read
fahren a → ä fährst / fährt to drive, travel
schlafen a → ä schläfst / schläft to sleep

Note that the only forms affected are the du and er/sie/es singular; all others use the regular stem. Strong verbs also show vowel changes in the past tense and past participle, which must be learned separately.

请注意,只有 duer/sie/es 单数形式会发生变化;其他人称使用规则词干。强变化动词在过去时和过去分词中也有元音变化,需要单独记忆。

3. Modal Verbs | 情态动词

German modal verbs (dürfen, können, mögen, müssen, sollen, wollen) have irregular present tense forms. The ich and er/sie/es forms are identical with no ending.

德语情态动词(dürfen, können, mögen, müssen, sollen, wollen)的现在时形式不规则。ich 和 er/sie/es 形式相同且不带词尾。

Pronoun können (can) müssen (must) dürfen (may) wollen (want)
ich kann muss darf will
du kannst musst darfst willst
er/sie/es kann muss darf will
wir können müssen dürfen wollen
ihr könnt müsst dürft wollt
sie/Sie können müssen dürfen wollen

In a main clause, the modal verb is conjugated and occupies the second position, while the main verb appears in the infinitive at the end: Ich kann gut schwimmen.

在主句中,情态动词变位并占据第二位,而实义动词以不定式出现在句末:Ich kann gut schwimmen.(我能很好地游泳。)

4. Case System and Definite/Indefinite Articles | 格系统与定冠词/不定冠词

German has four cases: Nominative (subject), Accusative (direct object), Dative (indirect object), and Genitive (possession). The article changes according to gender, number, and case.

德语有四个格:主格(主语)、宾格(直接宾语)、与格(间接宾语)和属格(所有关系)。冠词根据性、数和格变化。

Case Masc. (der/ein) Neut. (das/ein) Fem. (die/eine) Plural (die/keine)
Nom. der / ein das / ein die / eine die / –
Acc. den / einen das / ein die / eine die / –
Dat. dem / einem dem / einem der / einer den / – (+n on noun)
Gen. des / eines (+s on noun) des / eines (+s on noun) der / einer der / –

The dative plural adds -n to the noun unless it already ends in -n or -s: mit den Kindern, but mit den Autos. Masculine and neuter genitive singular nouns take -s (or -es for one-syllable nouns).

与格复数在名词后加 -n,除非名词本身已以 -n 或 -s 结尾:mit den Kindern,但 mit den Autos。阳性和中性单数属格名词加 -s(单音节词常加 -es)。

5. Adjective Endings | 形容词词尾

Adjective endings depend on whether the adjective is preceded by a definite article (weak declension), an indefinite article (mixed declension), or no article (strong declension). The formula: adjective must show the case/gender if the article does not.

形容词词尾取决于其前是否有定冠词(弱变化)、不定冠词(混合变化)或无冠词(强变化)。公式:若冠词未显示格/性,形容词必须显示。

Weak endings (after der/die/das/die): All forms get -e except the dative/genitive plural (-en) and all genitive/dative singular masculine and neuter (-en). Simplest pattern: nominative singular all genders = -e.

弱变化词尾(用于 der/die/das/die 后):所有形式都加 -e,但与格复数/属格复数以及所有单数阳性和中性的与格和属格用 -en。最简单模式:主格单数所有性用 -e。

Case Masc. Neut. Fem. Plural
Nom. der nette Mann das kleine Kind die schöne Frau die alten Leute
Acc. den netten Mann das kleine Kind die schöne Frau die alten Leute
Dat. dem netten Mann dem kleinen Kind der schönen Frau den alten Leuten
Gen. des netten Mannes des kleinen Kindes der schönen Frau der alten Leute

Strong endings (no article): The adjective takes nearly the same endings as the definite article, except genitive masculine/neuter is -en. Thus: Nominative is -er, -es, -e, -e.

强变化词尾(无冠词):形容词词尾几乎与定冠词相同,只是阳性和中性属格为 -en。因此,主格为 -er, -es, -e, -e。

Mixed endings (after ein/kein/mein etc.): Similar to weak, but where the indefinite article has no ending (nominative masc/neut, accusative neut), the adjective takes the strong ending to indicate gender/case.

混合变化词尾(用于 ein/kein/mein 等后):与弱变化类似,但在不定冠词无词尾处(主格阳性/中性,宾格中性),形容词采用强变化词尾以表明性别和格。

6. Word Order: Main Clauses and Inversion | 语序:主句与倒装

The fundamental rule for a German main clause is: Verb Second (V2). The conjugated verb occupies the second position. The first position can be the subject, a time expression, a location, or any other element.

德语主句的基本规则是:动词第二位(V2)。变位动词占据第二位。第一位可以是主语、时间状语、地点状语或任何其他成分。

Example: Ich gehe heute ins Kino. / Heute gehe ich ins Kino. / Ins Kino gehe ich heute.

示例: Ich gehe heute ins Kino.(我今天去电影院。)/ Heute gehe ich ins Kino.(今天我去电影院。)/ Ins Kino gehe ich heute.(去电影院,我今天。)

If the sentence begins with a subordinate clause, the main clause that follows starts with the verb: Wenn ich Zeit habe, gehe ich ins Kino.

如果句子以从句开头,后面的主句以动词开头:Wenn ich Zeit habe, gehe ich ins Kino.(如果我有时间,我就去电影院。)

In questions without a question word, the verb comes first: Hast du Zeit? In questions with a question word, the question word is first
