📚 A-Level Cambridge Spanish: Formula & Theorem Quick Reference | A-Level Cambridge 西班牙语:公式定理速查手册

This guide compiles the essential grammar ‘formulae’ and ‘theorems’ of Spanish for the Cambridge A-Level course. Treat each rule as an immutable equation underpinning accurate expression, from verb conjugations to sentence structure. Mastering these will enable you to construct correct and idiomatic Spanish in both written and spoken examinations.

本手册汇编了剑桥 A-Level 西班牙语课程中核心的语法“公式”和“定理”。请将每条规则视为支撑精确表达的恒定方程式,涵盖动词变位到句型结构。掌握这些将帮助您在笔试和口试中构建正确且地道的西班牙语。

1. Ser vs Estar Theorem | Ser 与 Estar 用法定理

The verb ‘to be’ splits into two forms in Spanish. Apply the ‘DOCTOR’ acronym for ser (Description, Occupation, Characteristic, Time, Origin, Relationship) and ‘PLACE’ for estar (Position, Location, Action, Condition, Emotion). The theorem: ser = permanent essence; estar = temporary state or result.

西班牙语中“是”分为两个动词。应用首字母缩略词 DOCTOR(描述、职业、特征、时间、来源、关系)记忆 ser,PLACE(位置、地点、正在进行、状态、情感)记忆 estar。定理:ser 表示永久本质;estar 表示暂时状态或结果。

  • Ella es inteligente y es de Madrid. (She is intelligent and she is from Madrid.)

    她聪明,来自马德里。 (本质特点、来源用 ser)

  • Hoy estoy cansado y estoy en el parque. (Today I am tired and I am in the park.)

    今天我累了,在公园里。 (暂时状态、位置用 estar)

Exception: events take place with ser (La fiesta es en mi casa). Location of events uses ser as inherent characteristic of the event.

例外:事件发生场所用 ser(聚会在我家)。事件的地点被视为事件固有的特征。

2. Present Tense Verb Conjugation Formula | 现在时动词变位公式

For regular verbs, remove infinitive ending (-ar, -er, -ir) and attach the subject‑specific termination. The formula is stem + present endings. Use the following theorem tables for each conjugation.

对于规则动词,去掉不定式词尾(-ar, -er, -ir)并加上与主语对应的词尾。公式:词干 + 现在时词尾。各变位法的定理表如下。

-ar (hablar) -er (comer) -ir (vivir)
yo hablo yo como yo vivo
tú hablas tú comes tú vives
él/ella/usted habla él/ella/usted come él/ella/usted vive
nosotros hablamos nosotros comemos nosotros vivimos
vosotros habláis vosotros coméis vosotros vivís
ellos/ellas/ustedes hablan ellos/ellas/ustedes comen ellos/ellas/ustedes viven

Stem‑changing verbs (like e-ie, o-ue, e-i) and irregulars (tener, ir, ser) violate the regular formula, but once learned act as fixed formulas themselves, e.g. ‘tener → tengo, tienes, tiene…’.

词干变化动词(如 e-ie, o-ue, e-i)和不规则动词(tener, ir, ser)不遵循常规公式,但一旦记熟,其变位本身就成了固定公式,例如 tener → tengo, tienes, tiene…

3. Preterite vs Imperfect – The ‘Completed Action’ Theorem | 简单过去时与未完成过去时 ——“完成动作”定理

The preterite (pretérito) expresses actions seen as completed, with a clear beginning or end. The imperfect describes ongoing, habitual, or background actions without focusing on their completion. Theorem: Preterite = action event; Imperfect = scene setting.

简单过去时表述被视为完成的动作,有明确起点或终点。未完成过去时描述持续、习惯或背景动作,不强调完成。定理:简单过去时 = 动作事件;未完成过去时 = 场景设定。

  • Ayer compré un libro y lo leí. (Yesterday I bought a book and read it – completed events.)

    昨天我买了一本书并读完了。(完成的事件)

  • Cuando era niño, jugaba en el parque todos los días. (When I was a child, I used to play in the park every day – habitual background.)

    当我还是孩子时,每天在公园玩。(习惯背景)

Key time markers trigger the appropriate tense: ayer, el año pasado, de repente → preterite; siempre, a menudo, mientras → imperfect. But the fundamental rule overrides markers: if an action is bounded, preterite; if unbounded, imperfect.

关键时间标记触发恰当的时态:ayer, el año pasado, de repente → 简单过去时;siempre, a menudo, mientras → 未完成过去时。但根本规则优先于标记:若动作有界,用简单过去时;无界,用未完成过去时。

4. Subjunctive Mood Trigger Formula | 虚拟语气触发公式

The subjunctive is not a tense but a mood, activated in subordinate clauses introduced by specific triggering expressions. Formula: Main clause with WEIRDO verb (Wishes, Emotions, Impersonal expressions, Recommendations, Doubt/denial, Ojalá) + que + subjunctive clause.

虚拟语气不是时态而是语式,由特定触发表达引导的从句中激活。公式:含有 WEIRDO 动词的主句(愿望、情绪、非人称表达、建议、怀疑/否定、Ojalá)+ que + 虚拟式从句。

  • Quiero que vengas a la fiesta. (I want you to come to the party – wish triggers subjunctive vengas.)

    我想让你来参加聚会。(愿望触发虚拟式 vengas)

  • Es importante que estudies todos los días. (It’s important that you study every day – impersonal expression.)

    你每天学习很重要。(非人称表达)

  • Dudo que él tenga razón. (I doubt that he is right – doubt.)

    我怀疑他是对的。(怀疑)

If the main clause expresses certainty, reality, or direct perception, the indicative mood is used instead. The subjunctive applies only when the subordinate clause expresses unreality, potentiality, or subjective influence.

如果主句表达确定性、现实或直接感知,则使用陈述式。虚拟语气仅适用于从句表达非现实、潜在性或主观影响。

5. Pronoun Placement Theorem – Infinitive, Gerund, Imperative | 代词位置定理 —— 不定式、副动词、命令式

Object pronouns (me, te, lo/la, le, nos, os, los/las, les) and reflexive pronouns follow a positioning theorem: they may be attached to the end of infinitives and gerunds (formando una sola palabra) or placed before the conjugated verb. With affirmative commands, they must attach to the end; with negative commands, they must precede the verb.

宾格代词、与格代词和反身代词遵循位置定理:可附着在不定式和副动词词尾(形成一个词)或置于变位动词之前。肯定命令式中必须附着在词尾;否定命令式中必须放在动词之前。

  • Voy a comprarlo / Lo voy a comprar. (I am going to buy it – both correct.)

    我要买它。(两种均正确)

  • Estoy leyéndolo / Lo estoy leyendo. (I am reading it – note accent on gerund when pronoun attached.)

    我正在读它。(代词附着时副动词需加重音)

  • ¡Dímelo! (Tell me it! – affirmative command, pronoun attached, accent added to maintain stress.)

    告诉我!(肯定命令,代词附着,加重音保持原重音)

  • No me lo digas. (Don’t tell me it – negative command, pronouns before verb.)

    不要告诉我。(否定命令,代词位于动词前)

6. Commands – Affirmative and Negative Imperative Formulae | 命令式 —— 肯定与否定命令公式

The imperative mood has distinct formulas for tú, usted, vosotros, and ustedes. Affirmative tú form is the 3rd person singular present indicative (habla, come, vive); negative tú uses the subjunctive form (no hables, no comas, no vivas). Vosotros affirmative drops the -r of the infinitive and adds -d (hablad, comed, vivid); vosotros negative uses the subjunctive (no habléis, no comáis, no viváis). Usted and ustedes both use subjunctive forms for affirmative and negative (hable, hablen; coma, coman; viva, vivan).

命令式对 tú, usted, vosotros, ustedes 有独特公式。肯定 tú 用第三人称单数现在时陈述式 (habla, come, vive);否定 tú 用虚拟式 (no hables, no comas, no vivas)。Vosotros 肯定去掉不定式 -r 加 -d (hablad, comed, vivid);vosotros 否定用虚拟式 (no habléis, no comáis, no viváis)。Usted 和 ustedes 肯定与否定均用虚拟式 (hable, hablen; coma, coman; viva, vivan)。

Person Affirmative (hablar) Negative
habla no hables
vosotros hablad no habléis
usted hable no hable
ustedes hablen no hablen

Irregular tú affirmatives (di, haz, ve, pon, sal, sé, ten, ven) must be memorized as atomic formulas. All other irregularities follow the subjunctive base.

不规则的 tú 肯定命令 (di, haz, ve, pon, sal, sé, ten, ven) 必须作为原子公式记忆。其余不规则形式遵循虚拟式基础。

7. Si Clauses and Conditional Sequences Formula | Si 从句与条件句序列公式

Si clauses establish condition‑result relationships. The formula patterns are determined by time reference and possibility:

Si 从句建立条件-结果关系。其公式模式由时间指称和可能性决定:

  • Realis (factual): Si + presente indicativo → presente indicativo. Si llueve, la calle se moja. (If it rains, the street gets wet.)

    现实条件:Si + 现在时陈述式 → 现在时陈述式。

  • Potentialis: Si + imperfecto subjuntivo → condicional simple. Si tuviera dinero, viajaría por el mundo. (If I had money, I would travel the world.)

    可能条件:Si + 未完成虚拟式 → 条件式简单时。

  • Irrealis (past): Si + pluscuamperfecto subjuntivo → condicional compuesto (or pluscuamperfecto subjuntivo). Si hubieras estudiado, habrías aprobado. (If you had studied, you would have passed.)

    非现实过去:Si + 过去完成虚拟式 → 条件式复合时(或过去完成虚拟式)。

The sequence is absolute; do not mix tenses across the formula. Never use the conditional in the si-clause itself.

序列是绝对的;不能跨公式混合时态。切勿在 si 从句本身使用条件式。

8. Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns: The R‑L‑I‑D Order Theorem | 直接与间接宾语代词:R‑L‑I‑D 顺序定理

When both direct (lo, la, los, las) and indirect (me, te, le, nos, os, les) object pronouns appear together, they follow the fixed order: Reflexive > Indirect > Direct (R‑I‑D). If the indirect object is le or les and is followed by lo/la/los/las, the indirect changes to se. This is known as the ‘double‑object pronoun formula’.

当直接宾语代词 (lo, la, los, las) 和间接宾语代词 (me, te, le, nos, os, les) 同时出现时,遵循固定顺序:反身 > 间接 > 直接 (R‑I‑D)。如果间接宾语是 le 或 les 后接 lo/la/los/las,间接宾语变为 se。这被称为“双宾代词公式”。

  • Te lo compro. (I buy it for you – indirect te, then direct lo.)

    我给你买它。(间接 te,直接 lo)

  • Ella se la envió. (She sent it to him/her/you formal – le/les + la → se la.)

她把它寄给他/她/您了。(le/les + la 变为 se la)

The theorem holds regardless of whether pronouns are before the verb or attached to an infinitive/gerund/affirmative command. Vamos a dárselo → Se lo vamos a dar.

定理无论代词处于动词之前或附着于不定式/副动词/肯定命令之后均成立。Vamos a dárselo → Se lo vamos a dar.

9. Uses of Por and Para – The ‘Purpose vs Motive’ Theorem | Por 与 Para 用法 ——“目的与动机”定理

Para indicates destination, purpose, recipient, deadline, or comparison (think of an arrow aiming forward). Por expresses cause, motive, means, duration, exchange, and movement through space (think of a loop of back‑and‑forth). The fundamental theorem: para = forward‑looking prospect; por = backward‑looking reason or medium.

Para 表示目的地、目的、接受者、截止日期或比较(想象一支向前瞄准的箭)。Por 表达原因、动机、方式、持续时间、交换和空间通过(想象一个来回的圈)。根本定理:para = 前瞻性期待;por = 回顾性原因或中介。

  • Estudio para ser médico. (I study in order to become a doctor – purpose.)

    我学习是为了成为医生。(目的)

  • Gracias por el regalo. (Thanks for the gift – motive/reason.)

    感谢你的礼物。(动机/原因)

  • Salimos por la puerta trasera. (We left through the back door – movement through.)

    我们从后门出去。(通过)

  • Este informe es para el viernes. (This report is due by Friday – deadline.)

    这份报告周五之前要交。(截止日期)

Common fixed expressions must be memorised as idiomatic formulas, e.g. por ahora, por favor, para siempre.

常见固定表达须作为习语公式记忆,如 por ahora, por favor, para siempre。

10. Accent Rules Theorem – Syllable Stress and Written Accents | 重音规则定理 —— 音节重读与书面重音

The orthographic accent (tilde) in Spanish is governed by a theorem based on word endings and stress pattern. Words ending in a vowel, -n, or -s naturally stress the penultimate syllable (llanas). Words ending in any other consonant stress the final syllable (agudas). If the natural stress does not follow this, a written accent is required on the stressed vowel. Additionally, all esdrújulas (stress on antepenultimate) and sobresdrújulas carry a written accent.

西班牙语的拼写重音(tilde)受基于词尾和重读模式的定理支配。以元音、-n 或 -s 结尾的词自然重读倒数第二音节(llanas)。以其他任何辅音结尾的词重读最后一个音节(agudas)。如果自然重读不符合此规则,则必须在重读元音上加书面重音。此外,所有 esdrújulas(重音在倒数第三音节)和 sobresdrújulas 均带有书面重音。

  • mujer (no accent, ends in -r, stress on final – aguda follows rule).

    mujer(无重音,以 -r 结尾,重音在尾音节,符合 aguda 规则)

  • fácil (accent needed; ends in -l so should be aguda but stress is penultimate, so tilde marks exception).

    fácil(需重音;以 -l 结尾本应尾音节重读,但实际重读倒数第二音节,所以加重音标记例外)

  • dímelo (sobressdrújula, accent on stressed vowel before two unstressed syllables).

    dímelo(重音在倒数第四音节,加重音)

Accents also differentiate homonyms (tú/tu, sé/se, más/mas, aún/aun) and demonstrate interrogative pronoun function (¿Quién?, ¿Cómo? always accented).

重音还区分同音异义词(tú/tu, sé/se, más/mas, aún/aun)并标记疑问代词功能(¿Quién?, ¿Cómo? 总是加重音)。

11. Past Participle and Perfect Tense Formation Formula | 过去分词与完成时构成公式

The perfect tenses (pretérito perfecto compuesto, pluscuamperfecto, etc.) are built with the auxiliary haber conjugated appropriately + past participle. The past participle formula: -ar → -ado (hablado), -er/-ir → -ido (comido, vivido). However, a set of irregular past participles acts as fixed exceptions: abrir → abierto, cubrir → cubierto, decir → dicho, escribir → escrito, hacer → hecho, morir → muerto, poner → puesto, resolver → resuelto, romper → roto, ver → visto, volver → vuelto. These must be applied mechanically.

完成时(现在完成时、过去完成时等)由助动词 haber 的适当变位 + 过去分词构成。过去分词公式:-ar → -ado (hablado),-er/-ir → -ido (comido, vivido)。然而,一组不规则过去分词为固定例外:abrir → abierto, cubrir → cubierto, decir → dicho, escribir → escrito, hacer → hecho, morir → muerto, poner → puesto, resolver → resuelto, romper → roto, ver → visto, volver → vuelto。这些须机械应用。

Word order in perfect tenses: subject + haber + past participle + object. No words can separate the auxiliary and participle. Hemos terminado la tarea.

完成时的语序:主语 + haber + 过去分词 + 宾语。助动词和分词之间不能插入任何词。我们完成了作业。

12. Relative Pronouns and the ‘Connecting Clauses’ Theorem | 关系代词与“连接从句”定理

Relative pronouns (que, quien(es), el/la cual, los/las cuales, lo que) link a main clause to a relative clause. The general formula: antecedent + relative pronoun + subordinate clause. Que is the universal connector for both people and things. Quien/quienes refers only to people and is used after prepositions or in non‑restrictive clauses. El cual/la cual etc. are more formal, often clarifying gender and number, especially in complex contexts.

关系代词 (que, quien(es), el/la cual, los/las cuales, lo que) 连接主句和关系从句。一般公式:先行词 + 关系代词 + 从句。Que 是人和物的通用连接词。Quien/quienes 仅指人,用于介词后或非限定性从句。El cual/la cual 等更正式,常明确性和数,尤其用于复杂语境。

  • El libro que leí es fascinante. (The book that I read is fascinating.)

    我读的那本书引人入胜。

  • Mi amiga, quien vive en Barcelona, me visitará. (My friend, who lives in Barcelona, will visit me.)

    我的朋友住在巴塞罗那,她会来看我。(非限定性,用 quien)

  • Lo que importa es la salud. (What matters is health.)

    重要的是健康。(lo que 指代抽象概念)

When referring to a place, use donde; for time, cuando; for manner, como. These also function as relative adverbs and follow the same structural logic.

指代地点用 donde;时间用 cuando;方式用 como。这些也充当关系副词,遵循相同结构逻辑。
