A balanced diet provides carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins, minerals, water and fibre. Carbohydrates and lipids supply energy, proteins aid growth and repair, while vitamins and minerals support body functions. Fibre prevents constipation and water maintains hydration and chemical reactions.
