1. Greetings and Introductions | 问候与介绍
Basic greetings form the very first building block of German communication. Learning how to say ‘hello’, ‘goodbye’ and how to introduce oneself allows learners to engage in simple social exchanges from the start. Common phrases include ‘Hallo’ and ‘Guten Tag’ for hello, ‘Tschuess’ and ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ for goodbye, and ‘Ich heisse…’ or ‘Mein Name ist…’ to introduce oneself. Asking ‘Wie heisst du?’ (What is your name?) and answering with ‘Ich heisse Anna’ is a typical first dialogue.
基础问候是德语交流的最初模块。学会如何说“你好”、“再见”以及自我介绍,能让学习者从一开始就参与简单的社交对话。常见用语包括表示你好的 ‘Hallo’ 和 ‘Guten Tag’, 表示再见的 ‘Tschuess’ 和 ‘Auf Wiedersehen’, 以及用来介绍自己的 ‘Ich heisse…’ 或 ‘Mein Name ist…’。提问 ‘Wie heisst du?’(你叫什么名字?)并回答 ‘Ich heisse Anna’ 是典型的入门对话。
Alongside greetings, it is important to know how to ask how someone is. ‘Wie geht’s?’ or ‘Wie geht es Ihnen?’ (formal) are everyday questions. Answers can range from ‘gut’ (good) and ‘sehr gut’ (very good) to ‘nicht so gut’ (not so good) and ‘schlecht’ (bad). Politeness markers such as ‘bitte’ (please) and ‘danke’ (thank you) should also be introduced early, as they are used constantly.
除了问候语,学会如何询问对方近况也很重要。’Wie geht’s?’ 或更正式的 ‘Wie geht es Ihnen?’ 是日常提问。回答可以从 ‘gut’(好)、’sehr gut’(很好)到 ‘nicht so gut’(不太好)和 ‘schlecht’(差)。礼貌用语如 ‘bitte’(请)和 ‘danke’(谢谢)也应尽早接触,因为使用频率极高。
2. Numbers, Dates and Time | 数字、日期和时间
Numbers in German are essential for telling time, giving the date, and talking about prices. From 0 to 20, the words must be memorised: null, eins, zwei, drei, vier, fuenf, sechs, sieben, acht, neun, zehn, elf, zwoelf, dreizehn, vierzehn, fuenfzehn, sechzehn, siebzehn, achtzehn, neunzehn, zwanzig. Notice that ‘eins’ can change to ‘ein’ before a noun. After 20, German forms numbers by saying the unit before the tens, linked by ‘und’: 21 is ‘einundzwanzig’, 35 is ‘fuenfunddreissig’.
德语数字是表达时间、日期和价格的基础。从0到20必须熟记:null, eins, zwei, drei, vier, fuenf, sechs, sieben, acht, neun, zehn, elf, zwoelf, dreizehn, vierzehn, fuenfzehn, sechzehn, siebzehn, achtzehn, neunzehn, zwanzig。注意 ‘eins’ 在名词前会变为 ‘ein’。20以后,德语数字先说个位,再说十位,用 ‘und’ 连接:21 为 ‘einundzwanzig’, 35 为 ‘fuenfunddreissig’。
Days of the week (Montag, Dienstag, Mittwoch, Donnerstag, Freitag, Samstag/Sonnabend, Sonntag) and months (Januar, Februar, Maerz, April, Mai, Juni, Juli, August, September, Oktober, November, Dezember) are straightforward to learn. To ask for the date, use ‘Welches Datum haben wir heute?’ and answer ‘Heute ist der 15. Maerz.’ For the time, use ‘Wie spaet ist es?’ and reply ‘Es ist drei Uhr’ or ‘Es ist halb vier’ (it is half past three). Remember the 24-hour clock is widely used in timetables.
星期几(Montag, Dienstag, Mittwoch, Donnerstag, Freitag, Samstag/Sonnabend, Sonntag)和月份(Januar, Februar, Maerz, April, Mai, Juni, Juli, August, September, Oktober, November, Dezember)学起来并不困难。询问日期用 ‘Welches Datum haben wir heute?’,回答 ‘Heute ist der 15. Maerz.’。询问时间用 ‘Wie spaet ist es?’,回答 ‘Es ist drei Uhr’ 或 ‘Es ist halb vier’(三点半)。请记住24小时制在时间表中广泛使用。
3. Personal Pronouns and Verb ‘sein’ | 人称代词与动词 ‘sein’
The verb ‘sein’ (to be) is the most fundamental irregular verb. It must be learned early, as it is used in introductions, descriptions and states. The conjugation is: ich bin (I am), du bist (you are, informal singular), er/sie/es ist (he/she/it is), wir sind (we are), ihr seid (you are, informal plural), sie/Sie sind (they/you formal are). Personal pronouns in the nominative case are the subject of the sentence: ich, du, er, sie, es, wir, ihr, sie, Sie. Note that ‘Sie’ (formal you) is always capitalised.
动词 ‘sein’(是)是最基础的不规则动词。它必须尽早掌握,因为自我介绍、描述和状态表达都离不开它。变位如下:ich bin(我是),du bist(你是,非正式单数),er/sie/es ist(他/她/它是),wir sind(我们是),ihr seid(你们是,非正式复数),sie/Sie sind(他们/您/你们是)。第一格人称代词作主语:ich, du, er, sie, es, wir, ihr, sie, Sie。注意尊称 ‘Sie’ 首字母始终大写。
Using ‘sein’ with adjectives forms simple sentences: ‘Ich bin muede’ (I am tired), ‘Er ist gross’ (He is tall), ‘Wir sind gluecklich’ (We are happy). When negating ‘sein’, place ‘nicht’ after the verb or the adjective: ‘Ich bin nicht alt’ (I am not old). Combining these with question words like ‘Wer?’ (Who?) and ‘Wie?’ (How?) builds early conversational ability.
将 ‘sein’ 与形容词连用可构成简单句:’Ich bin muede’(我累了),’Er ist gross’(他个子高),’Wir sind gluecklich’(我们很开心)。否定 ‘sein’ 时,将 ‘nicht’ 置于动词或形容词之后:’Ich bin nicht alt’(我不老)。结合疑问词如 ‘Wer?’(谁?)和 ‘Wie?’(怎样?),就能构建早期会话能力。
4. Regular Verb Conjugation | 规则动词变位
Most German verbs are regular, following a predictable pattern in the present tense. To conjugate a regular verb like ‘spielen’ (to play), take the stem (spiel-) and add the endings: -e, -st, -t, -en, -t, -en. The full conjugation is: ich spiele, du spielst, er/sie/es spielt, wir spielen, ihr spielt, sie/Sie spielen. The verb ‘wohnen’ (to live) is similar: ich wohne, du wohnst, er wohnt, etc.
大多数德语动词是规则的,现在时遵循可预测的模式。要变位一个如 ‘spielen’(玩)的规则动词,先取词干(spiel-),再添加词尾:-e, -st, -t, -en, -t, -en。完整变位为:ich spiele, du spielst, er/sie/es spielt, wir spielen, ihr spielt, sie/Sie spielen。动词 ‘wohnen’(居住)类似:ich wohne, du wohnst, er wohnt 等。
A small group of verbs have stem changes in the du and er/sie/es forms. For example, ‘lesen’ (to read) becomes ‘du liest’ and ‘er liest’, with the stem vowel e changing to ie. ‘Fahren’ (to drive/go) changes a to ae: ‘du faehrst’, ‘er faehrt’. Another common one is ‘sehen’ (to see): ‘du siehst’, ‘er sieht’. These must be memorised, but the pattern helps.
一小部分动词在 du 和 er/sie/es 形式上会发生词干元音变化。例如,’lesen’(读)变成 ‘du liest’ 和 ‘er liest’,词干元音 e 变为 ie。’Fahren’(驾驶/去)中 a 变为 ae:’du faehrst’, ‘er faehrt’。另一个常见的是 ‘sehen’(看):’du siehst’, ‘er sieht’。这些变化需要熟记,但规律有所帮助。
Word order in main clauses follows the rule: the conjugated verb is the second idea. Other information can come first, pushing the subject after the verb. For example, ‘Ich spiele am Samstag Fussball’ can become ‘Am Samstag spiele ich Fussball’ (On Saturday I play football). Inversion keeps the verb in second position, a key KS3 grammatical concept.
主句的语序遵循一条规则:变位动词是第二个要素。其他信息可以提前,此时主语会置于动词之后。例如 ‘Ich spiele am Samstag Fussball’ 可变为 ‘Am Samstag spiele ich Fussball’(星期六我踢足球)。动词保持第二位,这是 KS3 阶段的关键语法概念。
5. Noun Genders and Articles | 名词性别与冠词
Every German noun has a gender: masculine (der), feminine (die) or neuter (das). The definite article in the nominative case is ‘der’ for masculine, ‘die’ for feminine, ‘das’ for neuter, and ‘die’ for all plurals. For the indefinite article ‘a/an’, use ‘ein’ for masculine and neuter nouns, and ‘eine’ for feminine nouns. There is no plural indefinite article, but ‘keine’ is used for negation.
每个德语名词都有性别:阳性(der)、阴性(die)或中性(das)。第一格定冠词:阳性用 ‘der’,阴性用 ‘die’,中性用 ‘das’,所有复数用 ‘die’。不定冠词 ‘a/an’,阳性和中性用 ‘ein’,阴性用 ‘eine’。复数没有不定冠词,但表否定用 ‘keine’。
| Gender | Definite Article | Indefinite Article | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Masculine | der | ein | der Mann / ein Mann |
| Feminine | die | eine | die Frau / eine Frau |
| Neuter | das | ein | das Kind / ein Kind |
| Plural | die | – (keine) | die Kinder / keine Kinder |
Gender is not always logical, so it is best to learn each noun together with ‘der’, ‘die’ or ‘das’. There are some hints: nouns ending in -ung, -heit, -keit, -schaft are feminine (die); words ending in -chen or -lein are neuter (das); many one-syllable masculine nouns describe male beings or natural forces. However, memorising vocabulary with its article is the most reliable method.
名词性别并不总是符合逻辑,因此最好将每个名词与其 ‘der’、’die’ 或 ‘das’ 一起学习。有些线索可参考:以 -ung, -heit, -keit, -schaft 结尾的名词为阴性;以 -chen 或 -lein 结尾的为中性;许多单音节阳性名词指代男性或自然力。不过,将名词连同冠词一起记忆仍是最可靠的方法。
6. Family and Descriptions | 家庭与描述
Family vocabulary is a core topic for building simple narratives. Key terms include: die Mutter (mother), der Vater (father), die Eltern (parents), der Bruder (brother), die Schwester (sister), die Geschwister (siblings), der Grossvater (grandfather), die Grossmutter (grandmother), der Onkel (uncle), die Tante (aunt), der Cousin (male cousin), die Cousine (female cousin). Possessive adjectives like ‘mein’ (my) and ‘dein’ (your) must agree with the noun’s gender and case. In the nominative, they follow the same pattern as ‘ein’: mein Vater, meine Mutter, mein Kind, meine Eltern.
家庭词汇是构建简单叙述的核心话题。关键术语包括:die Mutter(母亲),der Vater(父亲),die Eltern(父母),der Bruder(兄弟),die Schwester(姐妹),die Geschwister(兄弟姐妹),der Grossvater(祖父),die Grossmutter(祖母),der Onkel(叔叔),die Tante(阿姨),der Cousin(表/堂兄弟),die Cousine(表/堂姐妹)。物主形容词如 ‘mein’(我的)和 ‘dein’(你的)必须与名词的性和格保持一致。第一格中,它们与 ‘ein’ 的变格模式相同:mein Vater, meine Mutter, mein Kind, meine Eltern。
Describing people involves adjectives like gross (tall), klein (short), nett (nice), lustig (funny), ruhig (quiet), sportlich (sporty), intelligent (intelligent). Remember that after ‘sein’, adjectives are not declined: ‘Mein Bruder ist nett.’ When using an adjective before a noun, the adjective ending changes depending on the article and case, but at KS3, sentences with ‘sein’ are sufficient for most writing tasks. To describe hair and eyes, use ‘haben’: ‘Ich habe braune Haare und blaue Augen.’
描述人物会用到形容词,如 gross(高的),klein(矮的),nett(友好的),lustig(有趣的),ruhig(安静的),sportlich(爱运动的),intelligent(聪明的)。请记住,在 ‘sein’ 后形容词不变化:’Mein Bruder ist nett.’。当形容词位于名词前时,词尾会根据冠词和格发生变化,但在 KS3 阶段,多数写作任务使用 ‘sein’ 结构即可。描述头发和眼睛用 ‘haben’:’Ich habe braune Haare und blaue Augen.’。
7. School Life Vocabulary | 学校生活词汇
Being able to talk about school subjects, facilities and opinions helps learners discuss daily routines. Subjects include: Englisch, Mathe, Deutsch, Kunst, Musik, Sport, Geschichte, Erdkunde, Naturwissenschaften (or Biologie, Chemie, Physik). Expressing likes and dislikes uses ‘moegen’ in the present tense: ‘Ich mag Mathe’ (I like Maths) or ‘Ich mag Mathe nicht’ (I don’t like Maths). To grade a subject, use ‘finden’: ‘Ich finde Englisch interessant’ (I find English interesting).
能够谈论学校科目、设施和看法,有助于学习者讨论日常生活。科目包括:Englisch(英语),Mathe(数学),Deutsch(德语),Kunst(美术),Musik(音乐),Sport(体育),Geschichte(历史),Erdkunde(地理),Naturwissenschaften(自然科学,或 Biologie, Chemie, Physik)。表达喜好用现在时的 ‘moegen’:’Ich mag Mathe’(我喜欢数学)或 ‘Ich mag Mathe nicht’(我不喜欢数学)。评价科目用 ‘finden’:’Ich finde Englisch interessant’(我觉得英语有趣)。
School objects are encountered daily: der Tisch (table), der Stuhl (chair), das Heft (exercise book), der Kuli (pen), der Bleistift (pencil), das Lineal (ruler), die Tafel (board). To say what you have in your bag, use ‘Ich habe…’ with the accusative case, but for most masculine nouns the article stays ‘einen’ only in the accusative: ‘Ich habe einen Bleistift.’ For feminine and neuter, the indefinite article remains the same as nominative: ‘Ich habe eine Schere’ (scissors). Days of the week and telling time are constantly practised in this topic.
学校用品每天都会用到:der Tisch(桌子),der Stuhl(椅子),das Heft(练习本),der Kuli(圆珠笔),der Bleistift(铅笔),das Lineal(尺子),die Tafel(黑板)。表达书包里的物品用 ‘Ich habe…’,此时需为第四格,但只有阳性名词的不定冠词变为 ‘einen’:’Ich habe einen Bleistift.’。阴性和中性不定冠词与第一格相同:’Ich habe eine Schere’(剪刀)。星期几和时间的表达在该话题中会反复练习。
8. Hobbies and Free Time | 爱好与空闲时间
Discussing what one does in free time builds upon regular verb patterns and introduces some irregular favourites. Common hobby verbs: spielen (to play, e.g., Fussball spielen), lesen (to read), schwimmen (to swim), reiten (to ride a horse), tanzen (to dance), hoeren (to listen, Musik hoeren), sehen (to watch, fernsehen). Using frequency adverbs like ‘oft’ (often), ‘manchmal’ (sometimes), ‘nie’ (never) adds detail. Place them after the verb or at the start for emphasis: ‘Ich spiele oft Tennis.’ or ‘Manchmal gehe ich schwimmen.’
谈论空闲时间活动建立在规则动词模式之上,并引入一些受喜爱的不规则动词。常见爱好动词:spielen(玩,如 Fussball spielen 踢足球),lesen(阅读),schwimmen(游泳),reiten(骑马),tanzen(跳舞),hoeren(听,Musik hoeren 听音乐),sehen(看,fernsehen 看电视)。使用频率副词如 ‘oft’(经常),’manchmal’(有时),’nie’(从不)可以丰富细节。将它们置于动词后或句首以示强调:’Ich spiele oft Tennis.’ 或 ‘Manchmal gehe ich schwimmen.’。
To say you are going to do something using ‘gern’, use the construction ‘ich spiele gern’ (I like playing), ‘ich lese gern’ (I like reading). The negation ‘nicht gern’ expresses dislike: ‘ich tanze nicht gern’. Another useful structure is ‘Am Wochenende’ (at the weekend) followed by an activity. Combining these with the weather and seasons (‘Im Sommer schwimme ich gern’) makes for richer spoken and written responses.
用 ‘gern’ 表达喜欢做某事,其结构为 ‘ich spiele gern’(我喜欢打球),’ich lese gern’(我喜欢阅读)。否定用 ‘nicht gern’:’ich tanze nicht gern’(我不喜欢跳舞)。另一个实用结构是 ‘Am Wochenende’(在周末)后接活动。将这些与天气和季节结合(’Im Sommer schwimme ich gern’),能使口头和书面回答更加丰富。
9. Food and Drink | 饮食
Food vocabulary covers breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Typical items: das Brot (bread), das Broetchen (bread roll), die Butter (butter), der Kaese (cheese), die Wurst (sausage), das Obst (fruit), der Apfel (apple), die Banane (banana), die Milch (milk), der Saft (juice), das Wasser (water). Expressing preferences uses ‘gern’ with ‘essen’ and ‘trinken’: ‘Ich esse gern Schokolade’ or ‘Ich trinke gern Orangensaft’. The accusative case is heavily practised here because ‘essen’ and ‘trinken’ are transitive verbs.
饮食词汇涵盖早餐、午餐、晚餐和零食。常见条目:das Brot(面包),das Broetchen(小面包),die Butter(黄油),der Kaese(奶酪),die Wurst(香肠),das Obst(水果),der Apfel(苹果),die Banane(香蕉),die Milch(牛奶),der Saft(果汁),das Wasser(水)。表达喜好用 ‘gern’ 与 ‘essen’ 和 ‘trinken’ 搭配:’Ich esse gern Schokolade’(我喜欢吃巧克力)或 ‘Ich trinke gern Orangensaft’(我喜欢喝橙汁)。此处大量练习第四格,因为 ‘essen’ 和 ‘trinken’ 是及物动词。
To order food in a cafe, use polite forms: ‘Ich moechte einen Apfelsaft, bitte’ (I would like an apple juice, please). ‘moechte’ is the subjunctive form of ‘moegen’ and is a key phrase for polite requests. Quantities are expressed with ‘ein Glas’ (a glass of), ‘eine Tasse’ (a cup of), ‘ein Stueck’ (a piece of). It is also common to ask for the bill: ‘Die Rechnung, bitte’ or ‘Bezahlen, bitte’. Remember that ‘bitte’ and ‘danke’ go a long way.
10. Prepositions with the Accusative | 支配第四格的介词
Some prepositions always trigger the accusative case. The most important at KS3 are: fuer (for), um (around, at), durch (through), gegen (against), ohne (without). When these prepositions are used, the article of the following noun must change if it is masculine: der becomes den, ein becomes einen; feminine and neuter articles stay the same as nominative. For example, ‘fuer den Mann’ (for the man), ‘fuer die Frau’, ‘fuer das Kind’, ‘ohne einen Bleistift’ (without a pencil).
有些介词始终要求第四格。KS3 阶段最重要的是:fuer(为了),um(围绕,在…点),durch(通过),gegen(反对),ohne(没有)。使用这些介词时,如果后面的名词是阳性,冠词必须变化:der 变为 den,ein 变为 einen;阴性和中性冠词与第一格保持一致。例如:’fuer den Mann’(为了那位男士),’fuer die Frau’,’fuer das Kind’,’ohne einen Bleistift’(没有铅笔)。
‘Um’ is especially useful for time expressions: ‘um drei Uhr’ (at three o’clock), ‘um halb acht’ (at half past seven). ‘Fuer’ expresses purpose: ‘Das Geschenk ist fuer dich’ (The present is for you). Practising sentences with these prepositions helps learners become familiar with the accusative forms of articles and personal pronouns. The accusative pronouns are: mich (me), dich (you), ihn (him), sie (her), es (it), uns (us), euch (you plural), sie (them), Sie (you formal). These follow directly after the preposition: ‘fuer mich’, ‘ohne dich’.
‘Um’ 在时间表达中格外有用:’um drei Uhr’(在三点钟),’um halb acht’(在七点半)。’Fuer’ 表示目的:’Das Geschenk ist fuer dich’(礼物是给你的)。通过练习含有这些介词的句子,学习者可以熟悉冠词和人称代词的第四格形式。第四格代词为:mich(我),dich(你),ihn(他),sie(她),es(它),uns(我们),euch(你们),sie(他们),Sie(您/您们)。它们直接跟在介词后:’fuer mich’,’ohne dich’。
11. Forming Questions | 构成问句
Creating questions in German can be done in two main ways: using a question word (W-Frage) or by inverting the subject and verb. Question words include: Wer? (Who?), Was? (What?), Wo? (Where?), Wann? (When?), Warum? (Why?), Wie? (How?), Welche/r/s? (Which?). The verb is the second element in a W-question: ‘Wie heisst du?’ In yes/no questions, the verb goes to the first position: ‘Spielst du Fussball?’ The subject immediately follows the verb.
德语问句主要有两种构成方式:使用疑问词(W-Frage)或通过主语和动词倒装。疑问词包括:Wer?(谁?),Was?(什么?),Wo?(哪里?),Wann?(什么时候?),Warum?(为什么?),Wie?(怎么样?),Welche/r/s?(哪个?)。在 W 问句中,动词是第二位:’Wie heisst du?’。而在是非问句中,动词移至第一位:’Spielst du Fussball?’,主语紧跟动词之后。
When using a separable verb in a question, the prefix goes to the end. For instance, ‘fernsehen’ (to watch TV) splits into ‘Siehst du gern fern?’ (Do you like watching TV?). The stem ‘siehst’ takes the second position, and the prefix ‘fern’ is at the end. Similarly, ‘aufstehen’ becomes ‘Stehst du um 7 Uhr auf?’ (Do you get up at 7 o’clock?). Question words with prepositions fuse into forms like ‘Wofuer?’ (What for?) and ‘Womit?’ (With what?), but these are less frequent at basic level.
12. Key Phrases for the Classroom | 课堂常用语
Being able to interact in the target language during lessons boosts confidence and reinforces learning. Essential classroom phrases include: ‘Darf ich auf die Toilette gehen?’ (May I go to the toilet?), ‘Ich verstehe nicht’ (I don’t understand), ‘Koennen Sie das bitte wiederholen?’ (Can you repeat that please?), ‘Wie sagt man … auf Deutsch?’ (How do you say … in German?), ‘Was bedeutet …?’ (What does … mean?), ‘Entschuldigung’ (Excuse me/sorry). These should be practised regularly so that they become automatic.
课堂上能用目标语言进行互动可以增强信心并巩固学习。关键的课堂用语包括:’Darf ich auf die Toilette gehen?’(我可以去洗手间吗?),’Ich verstehe nicht’(我不明白),’Koennen Sie das bitte wiederholen?’(请您再说一遍好吗?),’Wie sagt man … auf Deutsch?’(…用德语怎么说?),’Was bedeutet …?’(…是什么意思?),’Entschuldigung’(不好意思/抱歉)。这些应经常练习,达到脱口而出的程度。
Instructions from the teacher are often given in the du (informal singular) or ihr (informal plural) forms depending on the group: ‘Oeffnet das Buch auf Seite 12’ (Open your books to page 12), ‘Hoert zu!’ (Listen!), ‘Schreibt den Satz ab’ (Copy the sentence). The imperative mood for regular verbs is simple: for du, drop the -st ending but keep the -e often, so ‘du spielst’ becomes ‘Spiel!’, ‘du hoerst’ becomes ‘Hoor!’ However, stem-changing verbs keep the change: ‘du liest’ becomes ‘Lies!’. The ihr-imperative uses the same form as the present tense: ‘Spielt!’, ‘Lest!’.
