KS3 CIE French: Summer Preview and Bridging Course | KS3 CIE 法语:暑期预习与衔接课程

📚 KS3 CIE French: Summer Preview and Bridging Course | KS3 CIE 法语:暑期预习与衔接课程

The summer break is the perfect opportunity to build a solid foundation in French before you enter or continue Key Stage 3. This bridging programme is designed to help you review essential vocabulary and grammar from primary school, preview KS3 CIE French topics, and develop the confidence to speak, listen, read and write in French from day one of the new term.

暑假是为进入或继续关键阶段3学习打下坚实法语基础的绝佳时机。本衔接课程旨在帮助你复习小学阶段的基本词汇与语法,预习KS3 CIE法语主题,并培养自信,让你能在新学期第一天就开口说法语、听懂法语、读写法语。

1. Why is Summer Preview Crucial? | 为什么暑期预习至关重要?

When you start a new academic year without any preparation, unfamiliar sounds, grammar rules and vocabulary can feel overwhelming. A targeted summer preview helps you enter the classroom with a clear mental framework. You will recognise greetings, numbers and basic sentences, which reduces anxiety and allows you to participate actively from the very first lesson.

没有任何准备就进入新学年时,陌生的发音、语法规则和词汇会让你感到难以招架。有目标的暑期预习能帮你带着清晰的认知框架走进课堂。你会认出问候语、数字和基本句子,从而减少焦虑,从第一节课起就能主动参与。

Moreover, the KS3 CIE French curriculum builds on prior knowledge but progresses quickly to new topics such as describing daily routines, talking about hobbies and expressing opinions. Spending a few hours a week during the holiday to revise Year 6 content and preview Year 7 or 8 topics ensures you do not fall behind. It transforms a potential struggle into a smooth, enjoyable learning experience.

此外,KS3 CIE法语课程建立在已有知识之上,但会快速推进到描述日常作息、谈论爱好和表达观点等新话题。在假期里每周花几个小时复习六年级内容并预习七年级或八年级主题,能确保你不掉队。这能将潜在的学习困难转变为顺畅、愉悦的学习体验。

2. Reviewing KS2 French Basics: Phonics and Greetings | 回顾KS2法语基础: 语音与问候语

Before diving into complex grammar, it is essential to refresh your memory of French sounds. Focus on the nasal vowels (such as ‘on’ in bonbon, ‘an’ in maman, ‘in’ in lapin) and silent final consonants. Practise reading aloud words like bonjour, au revoir, merci, l’école and le garçon until the pronunciation feels natural. You can use online audio clips from the CIE vocabulary list to shadow native speakers.

在深入学习复杂语法之前,重温法语发音至关重要。重点关注鼻化元音(如bonbon中的’on’,maman中的’an’,lapin中的’in’)和不发音的词尾辅音。大声朗读bonjour、au revoir、merci、l’écolele garçon等单词,直到发音感觉自然。你可以使用CIE词汇表里的在线音频片段跟读母语者。

Next, revisit basic greetings and polite expressions. Make sure you can confidently ask Comment tu t’appelles ? and answer Je m’appelle… You should also be able to say how you are: Ça va bien/mal, et toi ? Practise these mini-dialogues with a family member or record yourself to check your intonation. Correct pronunciation at this stage prevents fossilised errors later on.

接下来,重温基本的问候语和礼貌用语。确保你能自信地提问Comment tu t’appelles ?并回答Je m’appelle…。你还应该会说Ça va bien/mal, et toi ?。与家人练习这些迷你对话,或录下自己的声音检查语调。这个阶段正确的发音能防止日后形成难以纠正的错误。

3. Mastering Subject Pronouns and Verbs Être/Avoir | 掌握人称代词与动词être/avoir

Subject pronouns are the backbone of French sentences. Memorise them in order: je, tu, il/elle/on, nous, vous, ils/elles. Understand that tu is for a friend or a child, while vous can be singular polite or plural. Then, learn the two most irregular yet essential verbs: être (to be) and avoir (to have). You must be able to conjugate them without hesitation.

主语人称代词是法语句子的支柱。按顺序记住它们:je, tu, il/elle/on, nous, vous, ils/elles。理解tu用于朋友或孩子,而vous可以是单数敬语或复数形式。然后,学习两个最不规则但又不可或缺的动词:être(是)和avoir(有)。你必须能毫不犹豫地变位。

Pronoun être avoir 中文代词
je suis ai
tu es as
il/elle/on est a 他/她/我们(泛指)
nous sommes avons 我们
vous êtes avez 你们/您
ils/elles sont ont 他们/她们

Create simple sentences using these verbs to describe yourself, your friends and your possessions: Je suis français(e). Tu es mon ami. Elle a douze ans. Nous avons un chat. Repetition is key — write them out, chant them aloud and test yourself using flashcards. Mastering être and avoir now will make future tenses much easier.

用这些动词造简单句来描述你自己、你的朋友和你的所有物:Je suis français(e). Tu es mon ami. Elle a douze ans. Nous avons un chat. 重复是关键——手写出来、大声唱诵并用闪卡自我测试。现在就掌握être和avoir会让将来时态的学习轻松很多。

4. Building Core Vocabulary: Numbers, Colours, Dates and Family | 构建基本词汇: 数字、颜色、日期与家庭

A strong vocabulary foundation starts with high-frequency words. Review numbers from 1 to 100, paying special attention to the tricky ones like 70 (soixante-dix), 80 (quatre-vingts) and 90 (quatre-vingt-dix). Practise saying the date: Quelle est la date ? C’est le [number] [month]. Learn the days of the week and months of the year, and be aware that they are not capitalised in French unless they start a sentence.

扎实的词汇基础从高频词开始。复习1到100的数字,特别注意像70 (soixante-dix)、80 (quatre-vingts)90 (quatre-vingt-dix)这样的难点。练习说日期:Quelle est la date ? C’est le [数字] [月份]。学习星期和月份,并注意在法语中除非句首否则不大写。

Colours also need special care: remember that most colour adjectives must agree with the noun they describe (une voiture bleue, des stylos verts). Extend family vocabulary beyond mère and père to include frère, soeur, grand-père, grand-mère, oncle, tante, cousin(e). Describe your family: Dans ma famille, il y a… At this stage, aim to understand and produce about 200 frequently used words from the CIE core list.

颜色也需要特别注意:记住大多数颜色形容词必须与所修饰的名词保持性数一致(une voiture bleuedes stylos verts)。将家庭词汇从mèrepère扩展到frère, soeur, grand-père, grand-mère, oncle, tante, cousin(e)。描述你的家庭:Dans ma famille, il y a… 在这个阶段,目标是理解和产出CIE核心词表中的大约200个常用词。

5. An Introduction to the Present Tense: Regular Verb Conjugations | 现在时态入门: 规则动词变位入门

Once you are comfortable with être and avoir, it is time to meet regular -er, -ir and -re verbs. Start with the largest group: -er verbs like parler (to speak), aimer (to like/love) and habiter (to live). The pattern is easy: drop the -er and add -e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent. Because the final -ent is silent, it takes practise to distinguish il parle from ils parlent by context and linking sounds.

一旦你熟悉了être和avoir,就可以接触规则的-er、-ir和-re动词了。从最大的群体——-er动词开始,如parler(说话)、aimer(喜欢/爱)和habiter(居住)。变位模式很简单:去掉-er,依次加上-e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent。因为词尾的-ent不发音,需要通过上下文和联诵来区分il parleils parlent

Next, learn a few common -ir verbs such as finir (to finish) and their endings: -is, -is, -it, -issons, -issez, -issent. For -re verbs like vendre (to sell), the endings are -s, -s, – (nothing), -ons, -ez, -ent. Create a verb conjugation chart and practise with at least 10 common regular verbs. Combine them with the vocabulary you already know to build sentences like Je parle français à la maison and Nous finissons nos devoirs le soir.

接下来,学习一些常见的-ir动词finir(完成)及其词尾:-is, -is, -it, -issons, -issez, -issent。对于像vendre(卖)这样的-re动词,词尾是-s, -s, – (无), -ons, -ez, -ent。制作一个动词变位表,并至少用10个常用规则动词练习。将它们与你已知的词汇结合,造出如Je parle français à la maisonNous finissons nos devoirs le soir这样的句子。

6. Key Grammar: Articles, Adjective Agreement and Negation | 关键语法: 冠词、形容词一致与否定形式

Articles in French come in three categories: definite (le, la, l’, les), indefinite (un, une, des) and partitive (du, de la, de l’, des). You must understand that every noun has a gender and that the article must match. Practise by grouping classroom objects: un stylo, des crayons, une gomme, une trousse. Notice that plural indefinite articles become des, and after negative expressions they typically become de (e.g., Je n’ai pas de soeur).

法语中的冠词分为三类:定冠词(le, la, l’, les)、不定冠词(un, une, des)和部分冠词(du, de la, de l’, des)。你必须明白每个名词都有性别,冠词必须与之匹配。通过给教室物品分组来练习:un stylo, des crayons, une gomme, une trousse。注意复数不定冠词变为des,在否定表达后它们通常变为de(例如Je n’ai pas de soeur)。

Adjective agreement is another cornerstone. Most adjectives add an -e for the feminine and an -s for the plural: grand/grande/grands/grandes. Some adjectives, like intéressant/intéressante, double the consonant before adding -e. Learn the negation structure ne…pas that surrounds the verb: Je ne suis pas anglais. Il n’aime pas le foot. Practise by transforming positive sentences into negative ones. This small set of grammar rules unlocks a huge range of communication.

形容词的一致是另一个基石。大多数形容词在阴性时加-e,复数时加-s:grand/grande/grands/grandes。有些形容词如intéressant/intéressante在加-e前双写辅音字母。学习围绕动词的否定结构ne…pasJe ne suis pas anglais. Il n’aime pas le foot. 通过把肯定句变为否定句来练习。这组小小的语法规则能开启大量的交际表达。

7. Developing Listening and Pronunciation: Using Songs and Short Videos | 听力与发音进阶: 通过歌曲与短视频提升听力

Listening can be the most challenging skill for beginners, but it becomes enjoyable when you use authentic materials designed for young learners. Choose French children’s songs like Frère Jacques, Alouette or Aux Champs-Élysées and read the lyrics while listening. Pay attention to how words link together through liaison (les‿amis) and elision (l’ami). Try to sing along — it improves your rhythm, intonation and memory.

听力对初学者来说可能是最具挑战性的技能,但当你使用专为青少年设计的真实材料时,它会变得十分有趣。选择Frère Jacques、AlouetteAux Champs-Élysées等法语儿歌,边听边看歌词。注意单词如何通过联诵(les‿amis)和省音(l’ami)连接起来。试着跟唱——这能改善你的节奏、语调和记忆。

Short video clips from CIE-endorsed resources or platforms like 1jour1actu make it easier to tune your ear to natural speech. Watch the same clip several times: first without subtitles to grasp the general idea, then with French subtitles to match sounds to spellings, and finally read aloud yourself. Aim to understand the gist of a 1-minute clip by the end of the summer. This small habit will make classroom listening tasks far less intimidating.

来自CIE推荐资源或类似1jour1actu平台的短视频能让你的耳朵更容易适应自然语速。将同一条短片观看多次:第一遍不带字幕以掌握大意,然后看着法语字幕将声音与拼写对应起来,最后自己大声朗读。目标是到暑期结束时能听懂一分钟视频的大意。这个小习惯会让课堂听力任务变得不那么可怕。

8. Basic Conversations and Role-Play: Asking for Directions, Shopping and Ordering | 基本对话与角色扮演: 问路、购物与点餐

Communicative competence is at the heart of the CIE syllabus. Practise three practical scenarios that frequently appear in KS3 assessments. First, asking for and giving directions: Excusez-moi, où est la gare ?C’est tout droit, puis tournez à gauche. Learn key prepositions like devant, derrière, à côté de, en face de and combine them with places: la bibliothèque, le cinéma, le supermarché.

Create flashcards with prompts on one side and full responses on the other, then act out the roles with a study partner. Aim to complete each conversation without looking at your notes by the end of the holiday.

第二,在市场购物需要诸如Je voudrais un kilo de pommes, s’il vous plaît. C’est combien ?等表达。第三,在咖啡馆点餐Je prends un croissant et un chocolat chaud. L’addition, s’il vous plaît. 制作闪卡,一面写提示词,另一面写完整回答,然后与学习伙伴进行角色扮演。目标是假期结束前能不借助笔记完成每段对话。

9. Bridging Cultures: An Introduction to the Francophone World and Customs | 文化衔接: 法语国家简介与文化习惯

Learning a language is inseparable from understanding the cultures that use it. Begin by locating France on a map and then discover other francophone countries such as Canada (Québec), Belgium, Switzerland, Senegal, Morocco and Haiti. Notice how le monde francophone spans five continents. This awareness is regularly tested in CIE cultural questions and will enrich your motivation.

学习一门语言离不开理解使用它的文化。首先在地图上找到法国,然后探索其他法语国家与地区,如加拿大(魁北克)、比利时、瑞士、塞内加尔、摩洛哥和海地。注意le monde francophone(法语世界)横跨五大洲。这种认知经常在CIE文化题中被考察,也会丰富你的学习动机。

Explore everyday customs: how French school systems differ, the importance of la bise (cheek-kissing) as a greeting, mealtime traditions like the goûter (after-school snack), and major holidays such as le 14 juillet (Bastille Day) and la fête de la musique. Compare these with your own culture and discuss similarities and differences in simple French: Chez moi, on célèbre… tandis qu’en France, on fête… This cultural bridge makes language learning personal and memorable.

探索日常习俗:法国学校体系有何不同,贴面礼la bise作为问候的重要性,像le goûter(下午加餐)这样的饮食传统,以及le 14 juillet(巴士底日)和la fête de la musique(音乐节)等重要节日。将这些与你自己的文化进行比较,并用简单的法语讨论异同:Chez moi, on célèbre… tandis qu’en France, on fête… 这种文化衔接让语言学习变得个性化且难以忘怀。

10. Study Strategies and Creating a Summer Study Plan | 学习策略与制定暑期学习计划

Without a plan, summer study can feel directionless. Design a weekly schedule that mixes different skills. For example, Monday could be vocabulary day (learn 15 new words from the CIE list using spaced repetition), Wednesday is grammar focus (one conjugation table and sentence building), and Friday is for listening and speaking (watch a short video and do a role-play). Keep sessions short — 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break works well for young minds.

没有计划,暑期学习可能会感觉没有方向。设计一份混合不同技能的周计划。例如,周一可以是词汇日(用间隔重复法从CIE词表中学习15个新词),周三专注于语法(一张变位表和造句),周五练习听力和口语(观看短视频并做角色扮演)。保持每次练习时间短些——25分钟集中学习后休息5分钟,对青少年非常有效。

Use tools that fit your learning style. Visual learners benefit from colour-coded flashcards and mind maps for verb families. Auditory learners should record themselves speaking and listen back, or use apps that pronounce words. Kinesthetic learners can write out conjugations on a whiteboard or move around while practising dialogues. Track your progress in a simple journal: write three things you learned each week and one new thing you can now say in French. This reflection solidifies learning and builds confidence.

使用适合你学习风格的工具。视觉型学习者可以从颜色编码的闪卡和动词家族思维导图中获益。听觉型学习者应录下自己说法语并回听,或使用能发音的应用程序。动觉型学习者可以在白板上书写变位,或边练习对话边走动。用一本简单的日志追踪进展:每周写下你学到的三件事以及你现在能用法语说的一件新事物。这种反思能巩固所学并建立信心。

11. Bridging Assessment: Self-Tests and Predictions | 衔接评估: 自我测试与预测题

Simulating the test environment helps you measure your readiness and identify gaps. Design a mini-assessment for yourself using past paper-style questions. Include a short reading comprehension about a boy or girl (name, age, nationality, likes), a grammar gap-fill on être/avoir and regular -er verbs, and a writing task where you write a short paragraph about your family or your typical Sunday using at least five verbs and three adjectives.

模拟考试环境能帮助衡量你的准备程度并找出知识漏洞。用真题风格的问题为自己设计一份小测验。包括一篇关于一个男孩或女孩的小短文阅读理解(名字、年龄、国籍、喜好),一个关于être/avoir和规则-er动词的语法填空,以及一道写作任务,用至少五个动词和三个形容词写一小段关于你的家庭或你典型周日的短文。

After completing the test, mark it honestly and list the mistakes. Turn each mistake into a learning target: for example, if you confused ils sont and ils ont, spend an extra ten minutes drilling that distinction. Predicting possible classroom questions also reduces first-day nerves: prepare short answers for Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire le weekend ? and Quelle est ta couleur préférée ? Having a bank of ready-made sentences gives you a head start in oral activities.

完成测验后,诚实地批改并列出错误。将每个错误变成一个学习目标:例如,如果你混淆了ils sontils ont,就多花十分钟专门练习那个区别。预测可能的课堂问题也能减少开学第一天的紧张:为Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire le weekend ?Quelle est ta couleur préférée ? 准备好简短回答。拥有一个现成的句子库可以让你在口语活动中抢占先机。

12. Ready for the New Term: Mindset and Resource Compilation | 准备好迎接新学期: 心态与资源整理

Entering a French classroom with a positive mindset transforms the learning experience. Remind yourself that making mistakes is a natural and necessary part of acquiring a language. Set a personal target for the first half-term, such as ‘I will raise my hand to answer at least one question in French every lesson.’ This simple commitment keeps you engaged and shows your teacher that you are ready to learn.

带着积极心态走进法语课堂会改变你的学习体验。提醒自己,犯错是语言习得中自然而必要的一部分。为前半学期设定一个个人目标,比如“每节课我都要举手至少用法语回答一个问题”。这个简单的承诺让你保持专注,也能向老师展示你已准备好学习。

Organise your resources before term starts. Create a dedicated folder for French, either physical or digital, with sections for grammar notes, vocabulary lists, listening logs and corrected tests. Bookmark reliable websites like the CIE support hub, BBC Bitesize KS3 French and online dictionaries that provide audio. Having everything in one place saves time and reduces stress when homework is set. With the summer bridging work you have done, you will walk into your first lesson feeling capable, curious and fully ready to succeed.

在学期开始前整理好你的学习资源。为法语创建一个专门的文件夹,可以是实体或数字的,里面包含语法笔记、词汇表、听力日志和批改过的试卷等部分。将可靠的网站加入书签,如CIE支持中心、BBC Bitesize KS3法语和带音频的在线词典。把所有材料集中在一处,可以节省时间并减少布置作业时的压力。有了暑期衔接所做的准备,你将带着能力感、好奇心和十足的准备走进第一节课,迎接成功。
