KS3 OCR German: Quick Reference Handbook of Key Formulas & Rules | KS3 OCR 德语:公式定理速查手册

📚 KS3 OCR German: Quick Reference Handbook of Key Formulas & Rules | KS3 OCR 德语:公式定理速查手册

Mastering German at KS3 starts with a clear grasp of the essential building blocks – what we call ‘formulas’ and ‘theorems’ for language. This handbook strips grammar down to the most important patterns you need for the OCR curriculum, from verb conjugations to case endings, sentence structure, and question forms. Keep these rules close; they will unlock your confidence in speaking, writing, and understanding German.

在 KS3 阶段学好德语,首先要掌握基本构件——我们称之为语言的“公式”和“定理”。本手册将语法精简为 OCR 课程所需的最重要模式,涵盖动词变位、格尾变化、句子结构和疑问形式。熟记这些规则,它们将为你的德语口语、写作和理解带来自信。

1. The Verb Conjugation Formula (Present Tense) | 动词变位公式(现在时)

For regular verbs, the present-tense endings follow a predictable pattern. Take the stem by removing ‘-en’ from the infinitive (e.g., spielen → spiel-), then add the correct ending. This ‘formula’ works for hundreds of verbs.

对于规则动词,现在时的词尾遵循可预测的模式。去掉不定式的 ‘-en’ 得到词干(如 spielen → spiel-),然后加上正确的词尾。这个“公式”适用于数百个动词。

STEM + [ -e, -st, -t, -en, -t, -en ]

Person Pronoun Ending Example: spielen (to play)
1st singular ich -e ich spiele
2nd singular (informal) du -st du spielst
3rd singular er/sie/es -t er spielt
1st plural wir -en wir spielen
2nd plural (informal) ihr -t ihr spielt
3rd plural / formal sie/Sie -en sie spielen

Watch out for a few stem changes in common irregular verbs (e.g., lesen → du liest, er liest), but the endings above still apply. In the ‘du’ form, if the stem ends in -s, -ss, -ß, -z, you only add -t, not -st (e.g., heißen → du heißt).

留意一些常用不规则动词的词干变化(如 lesen → du liest, er liest),但上述词尾依然适用。在 ‘du’ 形式中,如果词干以 -s, -ss, -ß, -z 结尾,只加 -t 而不是 -st(如 heißen → du heißt)。

2. The sein and haben Conjugation Tables | sein 和 haben 变位表

The two most important irregular verbs in German are sein (to be) and haben (to have). Their conjugations must be memorised as they function both as main verbs and as auxiliaries for past tenses. Think of these as essential constants in your German equation.

德语中最重要的两个不规则动词是 sein(是)和 haben(有)。它们的变位必须熟记,因为它们既是实义动词,也用作过去时态的助动词。把它们视为德语方程式中的基本常数。

Pronoun sein (to be) haben (to have)
ich bin habe
du bist hast
er/sie/es ist hat
wir sind haben
ihr seid habt
sie/Sie sind haben

Use sein for descriptions of identity, condition, location, and with adjectives: Ich bin müde (I am tired). Haben is used for possession: Ich habe einen Hund (I have a dog). In KS3 you will meet haben in combination with the past participle to form the perfect tense, but that is a later formula.

sein 用于描述身份、状态、位置以及形容词:Ich bin müde(我累了)。haben 用于表达拥有:Ich habe einen Hund(我有一条狗)。在 KS3 阶段,你会遇到 haben 与过去分词连用构成完成时,但那是后话。

3. The Noun Gender and Article Formula | 名词性别与冠词公式

Every German noun has a grammatical gender: masculine, feminine, or neuter. The definite article (the) reflects this gender and the case. For the nominative case (the subject of the sentence), the pattern is simple: der (masculine), die (feminine), das (neuter), die (plural). This is the ‘base formula’ for articles.

每个德语名词都有一个语法性别:阳性、阴性或中性。定冠词(the)反映这一性别和格。对于主格(句子主语),模式很简单:der(阳性)、die(阴性)、das(中性)、die(复数)。这是冠词的基本公式。

The indefinite article (a/an) in the nominative follows: ein (masculine/neuter), eine (feminine). Note: neuter uses the same indefinite article as masculine, but the definite articles differ.

主格中不定冠词(a/an)为:ein(阳性/中性)、eine(阴性)。注意:中性与阳性使用相同的不定冠词,但定冠词不同。

Gender Definite article (Nominative) Indefinite article (Nominative) Example
Masculine der ein der/ein Mann
Feminine die eine die/eine Frau
Neuter das ein das/ein Kind
Plural die – (no indefinite article for plural) die Kinder

Learn the gender together with the noun: always memorise the word with its definite article, e.g., der Tisch, die Lampe, das Buch. This habit will save you countless corrections later.

记住名词的同时记住其性别:始终将单词与定冠词一起记忆,如 der Tisch、die Lampe、das Buch。这个习惯日后会省去无数纠正的麻烦。

4. The Four Cases and Their Signals | 四个格及其标记

German uses four cases to show the function of a noun in a sentence. The ‘case formula’ changes the articles and sometimes the noun endings. At KS3, focus on Nominative, Accusative, and Dative. Genitive is less common at this stage.

德语用四个格来表示名词在句中的功能。“格公式”会改变冠词,有时也会改变名词词尾。KS3 阶段集中掌握主格、宾格和与格;属格在这一阶段较少出现。

Article Changes in Accusative and Dative (Definite)

Case Masculine Feminine Neuter Plural Key question
Nominative der die das die Who? What? (subject)
Accusative den die das die Whom? What? (direct object)
Dative dem der dem den (+ -n on noun if possible) To whom? (indirect object)

Notice that only the masculine changes dramatically in the accusative (der → den). In the dative, masculine and neuter both become dem, feminine becomes der, and plural changes to den. The formula for indirect objects often uses the dative: Ich gebe dem Mann das Buch (I give the man the book). Here, the man is the recipient.

注意,只有阳性在宾格中有明显变化(der → den)。在与格中,阳性和中性都变成 dem,阴性变成 der,复数变成 den。间接宾语常用与格:Ich gebe dem Mann das Buch(我把书给那个男人)。这里,男人是接收者。

5. Personal Pronouns Across the Cases | 各格人称代词

Pronouns also change depending on their case. This formula is crucial for natural German speech, especially with verbs that require a specific case. Memorise the pattern: Nominative, Accusative, Dative.

代词也根据格而变化。这个公式对于自然的德语表达至关重要,尤其是需要使用特定格的动词。熟记基本模式:主格、宾格、与格。

English Nominative Accusative Dative
I ich mich mir
you (singular informal) du dich dir
he er ihn ihm
she sie sie ihr
it es es ihm
we wir uns uns
you (plural informal) ihr euch euch
they / you (formal) sie / Sie sie / Sie ihnen / Ihnen

Trigger verbs: helfen (to help) takes dative – Kannst du mir helfen? (Can you help me?). Sehen (to see) takes accusative – Ich sehe dich (I see you). When you learn a new verb, check its ‘formula’ – does it demand accusative, dative, or both?

触发条件动词:helfen(帮助)接与格 – Kannst du mir helfen?(你能帮我吗?)。sehen(看见)接宾格 – Ich sehe dich(我看见你)。学习新动词时,检查它的“公式”——它要求宾格、与格还是两者?

6. The Word Order Theorem: Verb Second | 词序定理:动词第二位

In main clauses (statements), the finite verb must be the second idea – this is the ‘verb-second rule’. The first position can be the subject, but it can also be a time expression, place, or another element. The verb then occupies position two, and the subject follows immediately if it is not in first place. This is a non-negotiable theorem of German syntax.

在陈述主句中,限定动词必须是第二个成分——这是“动词第二顺位规则”。第一位可以是主语,也可以是时间、地点或其它成分。动词永远占据第二位,如果主语不在第一位,则紧随动词之后。这是德语造句不可动摇的定理。

[Position 1: any element] + [Position 2: conjugated verb] + [subject (if not in 1)] + …

Example: Ich spiele heute Fußball. (I play football today.) → Heute spiele ich Fußball. (Today I play football.) Notice the verb ‘spiele’ remains in second position, and the subject ‘ich’ moves after the verb. This inversion is powerful for varying your style and emphasising time or place.

例句:Ich spiele heute Fußball.(我今天踢足球。)→ Heute spiele ich Fußball.(今天我踢足球。)注意动词 spiele 保持在第二位,主语 ich 移到了动词后面。这种倒装是丰富表达、强调时间或地点的有力手段。

7. The Question Formation Formulas | 疑问句构造公式

There are two basic formulas for forming questions in German. The first uses a question word (W-Fragen), and the second is the yes/no question (Entscheidungsfragen). Both obey the verb-second logic: in a question, the verb comes first or immediately after the question word.

德语构成疑问句有两种基本公式。第一种使用疑问词(W-Fragen),第二种是一般疑问句(Entscheidungsfragen)。两者都遵循动词第二的逻辑:在疑问句中,动词放在第一位,或紧跟疑问词之后。

Yes/No Question Formula: [Conjugated verb] + [subject] + …? Example: Spielst du Tennis? (Do you play tennis?) The verb comes first; the subject comes second. For W-questions: [Question word] + [conjugated verb] + [subject] + …? Example: Wann spielst du Tennis? (When do you play tennis?) Here the question word is in position 1, verb still in position 2.

一般疑问句公式:[变位动词] + [主语] + ……?例句:Spielst du Tennis?(你打网球吗?)动词在第一位,主语在第二位。对于特殊疑问句:[疑问词] + [变位动词] + [主语] + ……?例句:Wann spielst du Tennis?(你什么时候打网球?)此时疑问词在第一位,动词仍在第二位。

Question word Meaning Example
Was What Was machst du? (What are you doing?)
Wer Who Wer ist das? (Who is that?)
Wo Where Wo wohnst du? (Where do you live?)
Wann When Wann kommst du? (When are you coming?)
Warum Why Warum lernst du Deutsch? (Why are you learning German?)
Wie How Wie heißt du? (What is your name? / How are you called?)

Always remember the verb is the engine of the question; its position tells the listener you are asking. These two formulas cover virtually all spoken questions at KS3.

永远记住,动词是疑问句的引擎;它的位置告诉听者你在提问。这两个公式几乎涵盖了 KS3 阶段所有口语问题。

8. The Negation Rules: nicht and kein | 否定规则:nicht 和 kein

Negation in German follows a clear logic. Use ‘nicht’ to negate a verb, an adjective, or an entire clause. Position ‘nicht’ as late as possible, often at the end of the sentence, but before any second participle or infinitive. Use ‘kein’ to negate a noun (with an indefinite article or no article); it replaces the article and agrees with gender and case.

德语的否定遵循清晰的逻辑。使用 nicht 否定动词、形容词或整个句子。nicht 的位置尽量靠后,常放在句末,但要在第二个分词或不定式之前。使用 kein 来否定名词(该名词前有不定冠词或零冠词);kein 替代冠词,并与名词的性和格保持一致。

Formula for kein: kein/keine/keinen/keinem + noun (instead of ein/eine/einen/einem). Example: Ich habe ein Buch. → Ich habe kein Buch. (I have no book.) For nicht: Ich spiele Fußball. → Ich spiele nicht Fußball. / Ich spiele Fußball nicht. In more complex sentences: Ich kann heute nicht kommen (I cannot come today), where nicht precedes the infinitive ‘kommen’.

kein 的公式:kein/keine/keinen/keinem + 名词(代替 ein/eine/einen/einem)。例句:Ich habe ein Buch. → Ich habe kein Buch.(我没有书。)对于 nicht:Ich spiele Fußball. → Ich spiele nicht Fußball. / Ich spiele Fußball nicht. 在更复杂的句子中:Ich kann heute nicht kommen(我今天不能来),这里 nicht 放在不定式 kommen 之前。

9. The Modal Verb Framework | 情态动词框架

Modal verbs like können (can), müssen (must), wollen (want to) change the meaning of a main verb. The formula is: modal verb in second position (conjugated), and the main verb in the infinitive at the end of the clause. This creates a ‘verb bracket’ that is central to German sentence rhythm.

情态动词如 können(能)、müssen(必须)、wollen(想要)会改变主要动词的意义。公式是:情态动词在第二位(变位),实义动词以原形放在句末。这就形成了一个“动词支架”,是德语句子节奏的核心。

[Subject] + [modal verb conjugated] + … + [main verb infinitive].

Example: Ich will ins Kino gehen. (I want to go to the cinema.) ‘will’ is the conjugated modal, ‘gehen’ the infinitive at the end. Common KS3 modals: können (can), müssen (must), wollen (want), dürfen (may, allowed to), mögen (to like) – often used as möchte (would like).

例句:Ich will ins Kino gehen.(我想去电影院。)will 是变位的情态动词,gehen 是句末的不定式。KS3 常见情态动词:können(能)、müssen(必须)、wollen(想要)、dürfen(可以,被允许)、mögen(喜欢)——常用其形式 möchte(想,要)。

Modal Meaning ich form du form Example
können can, to be able to kann kannst Ich kann schwimmen.
müssen must, to have to muss musst Du musst lernen.
wollen to want will willst Er will Fußball spielen.
dürfen may, to be allowed darf darfst Published by TutorHao | KS3 德语 Revision Series | aleveler.com
