1. Heart Rate Formulas | 心率公式

Estimating maximum heart rate and target training zones is fundamental for designing aerobic training programmes.

HRmax = 220 – age

The most widely used prediction equation subtracts the athlete’s age from 220. Although individual variation exists, this provides a quick estimate of maximal heart rate.

Target HR = Resting HR + Intensity × (HRmax – Resting HR)

The Karvonen formula (heart rate reserve method) incorporates resting heart rate to calculate personalised training zones. Intensity is expressed as a percentage (e.g., 0.6 to 0.85).

Body Mass Index gives a rough indication of body fatness based on weight relative to height squared. It does not distinguish between fat and lean mass.

Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) = waist circumference / hip circumference
