📚 Pre-U OCR Spanish: Formula & Theorem Quick Reference Handbook | Pre-U OCR 西班牙语:公式定理速查手册

Mastering Spanish at Pre-U level requires not only vocabulary but also a systematic grasp of grammatical structures, much like learning formulas and theorems in mathematics. This handbook presents the essential “formulas” for noun–adjective agreement, verb conjugations across all moods and tenses, pronoun placement, and complex clause constructions. Treat each section as a proved theorem: apply the rule and you will generate correct Spanish every time. Use this as your quick reference during revision, essay writing, and oral preparation.

想在 Pre-U 阶段掌握西班牙语,除了词汇量,你还需要系统地理解语法结构——这就像学习数学中的公式与定理一样。本手册为你提供名词与形容词一致关系、所有语气与时态的动词变位、代词位置以及复杂从句构造的核心“公式”。把每一节当成一条经过验证的定理:套用规则,你就能每次都生成正确的西班牙语。把它当作你复习、写作和口语准备过程中的速查手册。

1. Noun–Adjective Agreement Formula | 名词与形容词一致公式

Every adjective must match its noun in gender (masculine/feminine) and number (singular/plural). The basic formula is: [Noun] + [Adjective] with agreement. For most adjectives, the feminine adds -a and the plural adds -s (or -es after a consonant).

每个形容词都必须在性(阳性/阴性)和数(单数/复数)上与其修饰的名词保持一致。基本公式为:[名词] + [形容词],且保持一致。大多数形容词的阴性形式加 -a,复数加 -s(辅音后加 -es)。

Formula: Adj = root + (-o / -a / -os / -as)
or root + (-e / -es) for invariant gender

公式:形容词 = 词根 + (-o / -a / -os / -as)
或词根 + (-e / -es) 用于性别不变型

Example: un chico alto (masculine singular) | una chica alta (feminine singular) | unos chicos altos (masculine plural) | unas chicas altas (feminine plural). Adjectives ending in -ista or -e only change for number: el problema grave, los problemas graves.

示例:un chico alto(阳性单数)| una chica alta(阴性单数)| unos chicos altos(阳性复数)| unas chicas altas(阴性复数)。以 -ista-e 结尾的形容词只有数的变化:el problema grave, los problemas graves

2. Position of Adjectives: The Restrictive vs Descriptive Theorem | 形容词位置定理

Descriptive adjectives usually follow the noun: la casa blanca. Limiting adjectives (numbers, possessives, demonstratives, quantifiers) and certain “shortened” adjectives precede the noun: mi libro, este coche, tres manzanas, buen amigo. When a descriptive adjective is placed before the noun, it often takes on a figurative or subjective nuance. The formula for emphasis: [Subjective Adj] + [Noun].

描写性形容词通常跟在名词之后:la casa blanca。限定性形容词(数字、物主形容词、指示形容词、数量形容词)以及某些“短尾”形容词则放在名词之前:mi libro, este coche, tres manzanas, buen amigo。当描写性形容词置于名词之前时,往往带有比喻或主观色彩。强调公式为:[主观形容词] + [名词]

Theorem: gran hombre (‘great man’) vs hombre grande (‘big man’); pobre mujer (‘pitiful woman’) vs mujer pobre (‘poor, without money’). Place adjectives strategically to reflect precise meaning.

定理:gran hombre(“伟大的男人”)对比 hombre grande(“高大的男人”);pobre mujer(“可怜的女人”)对比 mujer pobre(“贫穷的女人”)。有策略地放置形容词以反映精准的含义。

3. Regular Verb Conjugation Formula: Present Indicative | 规则动词变位公式:陈述式现在时

Remove the infinitive ending (-ar, -er, -ir) and add the appropriate present‑tense endings. Think of this as applying the “root + suffix” formula. See the table for standard endings.

去掉动词不定式词尾(-ar, -er, -ir),加上相应的现在时词尾。将其视为套用“词根 + 后缀”公式。参见下表的标准词尾。

Person -ar -er -ir
yo -o -o -o
-as -es -es
él/ella/usted -a -e -e
nosotros/as -amos -emos -imos
vosotros/as -áis -éis -ís
ellos/ellas/ustedes -an -en -en

Example: hablar → hablo, hablas, habla, hablamos, habláis, hablan. Stem‑changing verbs are a special “sub‑formula”: in the present, the stem vowel changes in all forms except nosotros and vosotros (e.g., pensarpienso, pensamos).

示例:hablar → hablo, hablas, habla, hablamos, habláis, hablan。词干元音变化的动词是特殊的“子公式”:在现在时中,除了 nosotrosvosotros 以外,所有人称的词干元音都要发生变化(如 pensarpienso, pensamos)。

4. The Formula for ‘To Be’: Ser vs Estar Theorem | “是/在”公式:Ser 与 Estar 定理

Spanish distinguishes two verbs meaning ‘to be’. Use ser for identity, origin, time, permanent characteristics, and material. Use estar for location, temporary states, conditions, and progressive actions. The diagnostic theorem: if the quality is inherent or defines the subject, choose ser; if it results from a change or is accidental, choose estar.

西班牙语区分两个表示“是/在”的动词。使用 ser 表示身份、来源、时间、永久特征和材料。使用 estar 表示位置、暂时状态、状况和进行中的动作。诊断定理:如果属性是固有的或定义主语的,选择 ser;如果是由变化产生或偶发性的,选择 estar

Formulaic examples: Ella es médica (profession – ser). Ella está cansada (temporary state – estar). La fiesta es en el jardín (event location → ser, not estar!). Madrid está en España (physical location → estar). Remember the fixed expression: ser + past participle for passive voice; estar + past participle for resultant state.

公式化示例:Ella es médica(职业 – ser)。Ella está cansada(暂时状态 – estar)。La fiesta es en el jardín(事件发生地点 → 用 ser,不用 estar!)。Madrid está en España(地理位置 → estar)。记住固定搭配:ser + 过去分词 构成被动语态;estar + 过去分词 表示结果状态。

5. Preterite vs Imperfect: The Aspect Choice Theorem | 简单过去时与过去未完成时:体选择定理

The preterite (pretérito indefinido) expresses completed actions in the past, with a clear beginning or end. The imperfect (pretérito imperfecto) expresses ongoing or habitual past actions, descriptions, and background information. The choice follows this axiom: if the action is bounded (a dot), use the preterite; if it is unbounded (a line), use the imperfect.

简单过去时(pretérito indefinido)表达过去完成的动作,有明确的开始或结束。过去未完成时(pretérito imperfecto)表达过去持续或习惯性的动作、描述和背景信息。选择遵循以下公理:如果动作有边界(一个点),用简单过去时;如果没有边界(一条线),用过去未完成时。

Formula: Ayer llovió (completed rain – preterite) | Cuando era niño, llovía mucho (habitual – imperfect). Two‑action sequences: the interrupting action is preterite, the ongoing background is imperfect: Estudiaba cuando llamaste.

公式:Ayer llovió(已完成的雨 – 简单过去时)| Cuando era niño, llovía mucho(习惯性 – 过去未完成时)。双动作序列:打断动作用简单过去时,持续背景用过去未完成时:Estudiaba cuando llamaste

Regular preterite endings: -é, -aste, -ó, -amos, -asteis, -aron (-ar)
/ -í, -iste, -ió, -imos, -isteis, -ieron (-er/-ir)

规则简单过去时词尾:-é, -aste, -ó, -amos, -asteis, -aron(-ar 动词)
/ -í, -iste, -ió, -imos, -isteis, -ieron(-er/-ir 动词)

6. Future and Conditional: The Infinitive + Ending Formula | 将来时与条件式:不定式 + 词尾公式

Unlike other tenses, the future and conditional are formed by attaching endings directly to the full infinitive. No stem‑chopping, no exceptions. This is the most mechanical formula in Spanish conjugation.

与其他时态不同,将来时和条件式的构成是将词尾直接加在完整的不定式之后。无需切掉词干,没有例外。这是西班牙语变位中最机械的公式。

Future = Infinitive + (-é, -ás, -á, -emos, -éis, -án)

将来时 = 不定式 + (-é, -ás, -á, -emos, -éis, -án)

Conditional = Infinitive + (-ía, -ías, -ía, -íamos, -íais, -ían)

条件式 = 不定式 + (-ía, -ías, -ía, -íamos, -íais, -ían)

Example: hablarhablaré, hablarás, hablará… (future); hablaría, hablarías, hablaría… (conditional). The few irregular stems (e.g., tener → tendr-, decir → dir-) still follow the same ending pattern. Always attach the endings to the modified but still whole‑looking stem.

示例:hablarhablaré, hablarás, hablará…(将来时);hablaría, hablarías, hablaría…(条件式)。少数不规则词干(如 tener → tendr-decir → dir-)仍然遵循相同的词尾模式。始终将词尾附加到经过修改但仍保持完整的词干上。

7. The Subjunctive Mood: Trigger and Conjugation Formula | 虚拟式公式:触发条件与变位

The subjunctive is not a tense but a mood, used in subordinate clauses after expressions of desire, doubt, emotion, uncertainty, and certain conjunctions. The conjugation formula: take the first‑person singular of the present indicative, drop the -o, and add the opposite vowel endings.

虚拟式不是时态,而是一种语气,用于表示愿望、怀疑、情绪、不确定性以及某些连词引导的从句中。其变位公式为:取陈述式现在时第一人称单数形式,去掉 -o,加上相反元音词尾。

Subjunctive endings: -ar verbs → -e, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en
-er/-ir verbs → -a, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an

虚拟式词尾:-ar 动词 → -e, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en
-er/-ir 动词 → -a, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an

Example: hable, hables, hable, hablemos, habléis, hablen (hablar); coma, comas, coma, comamos, comáis, coman (comer). Pay attention to the first‑person singular indicative as the key: tener → tengo → tenga; conocer → conozco → conozca. This ensures irregular subjunctives inherit the same irregularities.

示例:hable, hables, hable, hablemos, habléis, hablen(hablar);coma, comas, coma, comamos, comáis, coman(comer)。注意以陈述式第一人称单数为关键:tener → tengo → tengaconocer → conozco → conozca。这确保不规则虚拟式继承相同的不规则性。

8. Imperative Mood: Affirmative and Negative Command Formulas | 命令式公式:肯定与否定命令

The imperative has distinct forms for affirmative and negative commands, as well as for formal (usted/ustedes) and informal (tú/vosotros) registers. For affirmative , use the third‑person singular indicative. For negative , use the second‑person singular subjunctive. For usted and ustedes, both affirmative and negative use the corresponding subjunctive forms.

命令式在肯定和否定命令以及正式(usted/ustedes)与非正式(tú/vosotros)语域中有不同的形式。肯定 命令使用陈述式第三人称单数。否定 命令使用虚拟式第二人称单数。对于 ustedustedes,肯定与否定均使用相应的虚拟式形式。

Affirmative tú: habla, come, vive
Negative tú: no hables, no comas, no vivas

肯定 tú:habla, come, vive
否定 tú:no hables, no comas, no vivas

The vosotros affirmative is formed by replacing the infinitive -r with -d: hablad, comed, vivid; negative uses the subjunctive: no habléis, no comáis, no viváis. Pronouns are attached to affirmative commands (dímelo) but placed before negative commands (no me lo digas). This attachment sometimes requires accent marks to maintain stress.

肯定 vosotros 的形式是将不定式的 -r 替换为 -dhablad, comed, vivid;否定形式使用虚拟式:no habléis, no comáis, no viváis。代词紧跟在肯定命令后(dímelo),但在否定命令中要放在前面(no me lo digas)。这种附加有时需要添加重音符号以维持重音位置。

9. Object Pronouns: Placement Formula | 宾格代词与与格代词:位置公式

Object pronouns (direct, indirect, reflexive) usually precede a conjugated verb: Te lo doy. However, they attach to the end of infinitives, gerunds, and affirmative imperatives: Voy a dárselo, Estoy dándoselo, Dáselo. The “se” substitution theorem: when a third‑person indirect object pronoun (le, les) appears alongside a third‑person direct object pronoun (lo, la, los, las), the indirect object changes to se.

In negative constructions, the pronoun block still precedes the verb: No se lo des.

公式:Le + lo → Se lo(绝不出现 le lo)。示例:Doy el libro a Juan → Le lo doy(错误)→ Se lo doy(正确)。在否定结构中,代词块仍然放在动词之前:No se lo des

10. Gustar and Reverse-Construction Verbs: The Dative-Subject Formula | Gustar 及反向结构动词:与格主语公式

Verbs like gustar, encantar, interesar, faltar, doler do not follow the typical subject‑verb‑object order. They take an indirect object pronoun representing the person and a subject that is the thing liked, lacking, or hurting. The formula is: [Indirect object pronoun] + [verb conjugated for subject] + [subject].

gustar, encantar, interesar, faltar, doler 这样的动词并不遵循典型的主‑谓‑宾语序。它们带有一个表示人的与格代词,而主语则是被喜欢、缺少或引起疼痛的事物。公式为:[与格代词] + [动词随主语变位] + [主语]

Example: Me gusta el chocolate (lit. ‘Chocolate pleases me’). Nos faltan dos euros (Two euros are lacking to us). The verb agrees with the subject, not the person: singular subject → singular verb; plural subject → plural verb. Always place the pronoun first and do not insert a subject pronoun like ‘yo’ unless contrasting.

示例:Me gusta el chocolate(字面意思“巧克力让我喜欢”)。Nos faltan dos euros(我们差两欧元)。动词与主语保持一致,而非与人:单数主语 → 单数动词;复数主语 → 复数动词。始终将代词放在句首,除非对比,否则不要插入像“yo”这样的主格代词。

11. Por vs Para: The Purpose‑Cause Theorem | Por 与 Para:原因‑目的一定定理

Para looks forward: destination, purpose, deadline, recipient, intended use. Por looks backward or expresses exchange, reason, means, duration, and passive agent. The operational theorem: use para when ‘in order to’ or ‘for the benefit of’ fits; use por when ‘because of’, ‘through’, ‘in exchange for’ applies.

Para 指向前方:目的地、目的、截止日期、接收者、预期用途。Por 指向后方,或表示交换、原因、方式、持续时间和被动语态的施事。操作定理:当可以用“为了”或“以……为目的”解释时用 para;当可以用“因为”、“通过”、“换取”解释时用 por

  • Estudio para aprender. (goal)
  • Estudio por la mañana. (time of day)
  • Trabajo por dinero. (exchange)
  • El regalo es para ti. (recipient)
  • Fue escrito por Cervantes. (passive agent)

The fixed phrase por lo tanto (‘therefore’) and para siempre (‘forever’) must be memorised as exceptions to the logic flow.

固定短语 por lo tanto(“因此”)和 para siempre(“永远”)必须作为逻辑之外的例外进行记忆。

12. Si‑Clauses and Sequence of Tenses: The Conditional‑Tense Theorem | Si 从句与时态呼应定理

Conditional sentences with si follow three main formulas, each with strict tense sequences. Type I: Si + present indicative → present/future/imperative (real condition). Type II: Si + imperfect subjunctive → conditional simple (unreal/hypothetical present). Type III: Si + pluperfect subjunctive → conditional perfect (unreal past).

si 的条件句遵循三种主要公式,每种都有严格的时态呼应。I 型:Si + 陈述式现在时 → 现在时/将来时/命令式(真实条件)。II 型:Si + 虚拟式过去未完成时 → 简单条件式(与现在事实相反的假设)。III 型:Si + 虚拟式过去完成时 → 复合条件式(与过去事实相反的假设)。

Si tengo dinero, viajaré. (real)
Si tuviera dinero, viajaría. (unreal present)
Si hubiera tenido dinero, habría viajado. (unreal past)

Si tengo dinero, viajaré.(真实)
Si tuviera dinero, viajaría.(与现在相反)
Si hubiera tenido dinero, habría viajado.(与过去相反)

Never use the present subjunctive after si in classical Spanish (though regional variations exist). Also, the condition clause cannot use the conditional tense; the result clause cannot use the present subjunctive. Mastering these formulas will elegantly handle hypothetical, polite, and regretful expressions.

在标准西班牙语中,绝不在 si 之后使用现在虚拟式(尽管存在地区变异)。此外,条件从句不能使用条件式;结果从句不能使用现在虚拟式。掌握这些公式将优雅地处理假设、礼貌和遗憾的表达。
