1. What is Compound Interest? | 什么是复利?

5. What is Depreciation? | 什么是折旧?

Depreciation is a decrease in value, such as a car losing value each year. The formula is very similar to compound interest, but the multiplier is less than 1 because the value falls. The formula is A = P(1 − r/100)ⁿ.

If n or r is unknown, you may need to use trial and improvement, logarithms, or solve from given values. Most IGCSE core questions ask for the final amount, while extended questions may ask you to find the number of years or the annual rate.
