📚 A-Level CAIE French Common Errors and How to Fix Them | A-Level CAIE 法语:常见误区与纠正方法
The A-Level CAIE French syllabus (9716) tests far more than vocabulary recall: candidates must control grammar, register, pronunciation and argumentative writing under timed conditions. This guide examines the most frequent errors seen in reading, writing, listening and speaking, and offers practical corrections that can lift marks quickly.
A-Level CAIE 法语大纲(9716)远不止考查词汇记忆:考生必须在限时条件下掌控语法、语域、发音和议论文写作。本指南总结阅读、写作、听力和口语中最常见的错误,并提供能快速提分的实用纠正方法。
1. Gender and Agreement Errors | 性数与配合误区
In French, nouns carry gender, and adjectives, articles and past participles must agree in gender and number. CAIE examiners frequently penalise mistakes such as “un belle femme” or “les livres que j’ai acheté”. Always check whether the noun is masculine or feminine, singular or plural, and whether a preceding direct object triggers past participle agreement.
法语中名词有阴阳性,形容词、冠词和过去分词必须在性数上保持一致。CAIE 考官经常扣分的情况包括 “un belle femme” 或 “les livres que j’ai acheté” 这类错误。一定要检查名词是阳性还是阴性、单数还是复数,以及前置直接宾语是否要求过去分词性数配合。
For example, “les pommes que j’ai mangées” must show the extra -es on the past participle because the direct object “les pommes” is feminine plural and comes before the verb. In writing, circle each noun and trace its connected adjectives and pronouns to make sure every form matches.
例如,”les pommes que j’ai mangées” 必须在过去分词上加 -es,因为直接宾语 “les pommes” 是阴性复数且位于动词之前。写作时,圈出每个名词并追踪与之相关的形容词和代词,确保所有形式都一致。
2. Passé composé vs imparfait | 复合过去时与未完成过去时
A-Level candidates often mix the passé composé and the imparfait. Use the imparfait for description, ongoing states, habitual actions and background context; use the passé composé for completed actions, specific events and sequences. Example: “Quand je suis arrivé, il pleuvait” shows arrival as a completed event and rain as background.
A-Level 考生常常混淆复合过去时和未完成过去时。未完成过去时用于描写、持续状态、习惯性动作和背景语境;复合过去时用于已完成的动作、具体事件和序列。例如:”Quand je suis arrivé, il pleuvait” 中,到达是完成事件,下雨是背景。
A common error is “Quand j’étais jeune, je suis allé au cinéma tous les samedis” — here the habit requires “j’allais”, because the action was repeated and not a single completed event. Using the correct tense improves both accuracy and narrative coherence.
常见的错误是 “Quand j’étais jeune, je suis allé au cinéma tous les samedis”——这里习惯性动作应用 “j’allais”,因为该动作是重复的,而不是一次性完成的事件。使用正确的时态能同时提高准确性和叙述连贯性。
3. Subjunctive misuse | 虚拟式使用误区
The subjunctive is required after expressions of emotion, doubt, necessity and certain conjunctions such as “bien que”, “pour que”, “avant que” and “à condition que”. However, candidates often overuse it. “Je pense que” takes the indicative; “après que” takes the indicative, and “espérer que” also takes the indicative in formal written French.
虚拟式用于情感、怀疑、必要性等表达以及某些连词之后,如 “bien que”、”pour que”、”avant que” 和 “à condition que”。但考生常常过度使用虚拟式。”Je pense que” 后用直陈式;”après que” 后用直陈式;在正式书面法语中,”espérer que” 也用直陈式。
Negative or interrogative forms like “Je ne pense pas que” do require the subjunctive: “Je ne pense pas qu’il vienne”. Learning the trigger lists and testing each sentence against the meaning of certainty or uncertainty is the best correction strategy.
否定或疑问形式如 “Je ne pense pas que” 确实要求虚拟式:”Je ne pense pas qu’il vienne”。记住触发词表,并根据语义是确定还是不确定来检验每个句子,是最好的纠正策略。
4. Articles: definite, indefinite, partitive | 冠词使用误区
The partitive article “du, de la, de l’, des” is used for uncountable quantities or unspecified amounts. After verbs of preference such as “aimer”, “détester” and “préférer”, use the definite article: “J’aime le chocolat” not “J’aime du chocolat”. In negative sentences, the partitive and indefinite articles generally become “de” or “d’”.
部分冠词 “du, de la, de l’, des” 用于不可数数量或不确指数量。在喜好动词如 “aimer”、”détester” 和 “préférer” 后,要用定冠词:”J’aime le chocolat” 而不是 “J’aime du chocolat”。否定句中,部分冠词和不定冠词通常变为 “de” 或 “d’”。
Also, expressions of quantity such as “beaucoup de”, “peu de”, “assez de” and “trop de” are always followed by “de” without an article: “beaucoup de patience”, not “beaucoup de la patience”. These rules are tested frequently in gap-fill and grammar sections.
此外,数量表达如 “beaucoup de”、”peu de”、”assez de” 和 “trop de” 后永远接 “de”,不加冠词:”beaucoup de patience”,而不是 “beaucoup de la patience”。这些规则在填空和语法题中经常出现。
5. Pronouns en and y | 代词 en 与 y 的误区
“Y” replaces “à + place/thing” but not a person, and “en” replaces “de + noun/quantity”. Candidates often confuse them and use “y” with people. For a person after “à”, use the indirect object pronoun or a stressed pronoun: “Je pense à mon ami” becomes “Je pense à lui”, not “J’y pense”.
代词 “y” 替代 “à + 地点/事物”,但不替代人;”en” 替代 “de + 名词/数量”。考生常常混淆二者,并把 “y” 用于人。在 “à + 人” 后,要用间接宾语代词或重读代词:”Je pense à mon ami” 变为 “Je pense à lui”,而不是 “J’y pense”。
With places: “Je vais à Paris” becomes “J’y vais”.
