📚 A-Level CAIE German: High-Frequency Topics and Common Error Analysis | A-Level CAIE 德语:高频考点与易错题分析

This revision guide targets the most frequently examined grammar, reading, listening, writing and speaking skills in CAIE A-Level German. It also highlights the errors that candidates repeatedly make under timed conditions, with paired corrections and practical strategies.

本复习指南针对 CAIE A-Level 德语考试中最高频的语法、阅读、听力、写作和口语考点,同时指出考生在限时条件下反复出现的易错点,并提供对照改正和实用策略。

1. Verb Position and Sentence Structure | 动词位置与句子结构

In a German main clause, the finite verb must be the second idea, but this does not mean it is always the second word. When a time phrase, place phrase or object opens the sentence, the verb remains in second position and the subject moves after it.

在德语主句中,限定动词必须是第二个成分,但这并不总是指第二个单词。当时间短语、地点短语或宾语位于句首时,动词仍保持第二位,主语则移到动词之后。

Example: Gestern habe ich einen Film gesehen. The common error ‘Gestern ich habe einen Film gesehen’ follows English word order and is penalised because the verb is no longer the second idea.

例如:Gestern habe ich einen Film gesehen. 常见错误 ‘Gestern ich habe einen Film gesehen’ 是按照英语语序,由于动词不再是第二个成分而被扣分。

In yes/no questions and commands, the finite verb comes first: Hast du Zeit? and Komm jetzt! In subordinate clauses the verb goes to the end, a separate high-frequency topic discussed in Section 8.

在一般疑问句和祈使句中,限定动词置于句首,如 Hast du Zeit?Komm jetzt!。在从句中动词置于句末,这一高频考点将在第 8 节讨论。

2. Cases and Articles | 格与冠词

German has four cases: nominative, accusative, dative and genitive. The highest-risk area is the masculine article, because der changes to den in the accusative and dem in the dative, while feminine and neuter forms change less visibly.

德语有四个格:主格、宾格、与格和属格。风险最高的是阳性冠词,因为 der 在宾格中变为 den,在与格中变为 dem,而阴性和中性形式变化不太明显。

Compare: Ich sehe den Mann (accusative) and Ich helfe dem Mann (dative). Many verbs require a dative object by logic or convention, including helfen, danken, folgen, gefallen, gehören, glauben and antworten.

比较:Ich sehe den Mann(宾格)和 Ich helfe dem Mann(与格)。许多动词按逻辑或习惯要求与格宾语,如 helfen, danken, folgen, gefallen, gehören, glaubenantworten

Case | 格 Masculine | 阳性 Feminine | 阴性 Neuter | 中性 Plural | 复数
Nominative der die das die
Accusative den die das die
Dative dem der dem den
Genitive des der des der

3. Adjective Endings | 形容词词尾

Adjective endings depend on gender, case and article type. After a definite article the endings are mostly -e or -en; after an indefinite article or possessive the mixed pattern appears; with no article the strong endings carry the case signal themselves.

形容词词尾取决于性、格和冠词类型。定冠词后词尾主要为 -e-en;不定冠词或物主代词后出现混合变化;无冠词时强变化词尾本身承担格的标志功能。

Compare: der alte Mann (weak), ein alter Mann (mixed) and alter Mann (strong). A typical error is writing ein alten Mann or der alter Mann, both of which mix declension patterns.

比较:der alte Mann(弱变化)、ein alter Mann(混合变化)和 alter Mann(强变化)。常见错误是写成 ein alten Mannder alter Mann,两者都混淆了变格模式。

When the adjective follows quantity words such as viel, wenig, einige, viele, learners should check whether a determiner is present. For example, viele gute Bücher has a strong plural ending because viele is not a definite article.

当形容词跟在 viel, wenig, einige, viele 等数量词之后时,考生应检查是否存在限定词。例如 viele gute Bücher 使用强变化复数词尾,因为 viele 不是定冠词。

4. Prepositions with Accusative, Dative and Genitive | 介词与格

The two-way prepositions an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen take the accusative for direction and the dative for location. Candidates often confuse in die Stadt with in der Stadt.

双支配介词 an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen 表示方向时支配宾格,表示位置时支配与格。考生常混淆 in die Stadtin der Stadt

Example: Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch (movement, accusative) but Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch (location, dative). The question to ask is wo? for dative and wohin? for accusative.

例如:Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch(运动,宾格),而 Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch(位置,与格)。判断方法是问 wo? 用与格,问 wohin? 用宾格。

Dative-only prepositions include mit, nach, bei, seit, von, zu, aus, gegenüber. Accusative-only prepositions include für, durch, ohne, um, gegen. Genitive prepositions such as wegen, während, trotz are increasingly used with the dative in informal German, but in formal writing the genitive is safer.

只支配与格的介词包括 mit, nach, bei, seit, von, zu, aus, gegenüber。只支配宾格的介词包括 für, durch, ohne, um, gegen。属格介词如 wegen, während, trotz 在非正式德语中越来越多地与格连用,但在正式写作中使用属格更稳妥。

5. Tenses: Perfect vs Präteritum | 时态:现在完成时与过去时

Perfect tense is the normal spoken past in German, while Präteritum is common in written narrative, especially with haben, sein and modal verbs. A-Level candidates need to switch registers for essays and summaries.

现在完成时是德语口语中常用的过去时,而过去时常见于书面叙事,尤其是与 haben, sein 和情态动词连用。A-Level 考生需要在文章和摘要中切换语体。

Form the perfect with haben or sein plus Partizip II. Use sein for movement or change of state: gegangen, gefahren, gekommen, geblieben, aufgestanden. Transitive and reflexive verbs use haben.

现在完成时由 habensein 加第二分词构成。运动或状态变化用 sein,如 gegangen, gefahren, gekommen, geblieben, aufgestanden。及物动词和反身动词用 haben

Common errors: Ich habe gegangen should be Ich bin gegangen. In a subordinate clause the auxiliary goes last: … weil ich nach Hause gegangen bin, not … weil ich bin nach Hause gegangen.

常见错误:Ich habe gegangen 应为 Ich bin gegangen。在从句中助动词置于句末:… weil ich nach Hause gegangen bin,而不是 … weil ich bin nach Hause gegangen

6. Passive Voice | 被动语态

The passive is formed with werden + Partizip II. Present passive uses wird gemacht, past passive uses wurde gemacht, and perfect passive uses ist gemacht worden.

被动语态由 werden + 第二分词 构成。现在时被动用 wird gemacht,过去时被动用 wurde gemacht,现在完成时被动用 ist gemacht worden

Candidates confuse the process passive Das Haus wird gebaut with the state passive Das Haus ist gebaut. The process passive describes an action, while the state passive describes a resulting condition.

考生常混淆过程被动 Das Haus wird gebaut 和状态被动 Das Haus ist gebaut。过程被动描述动作,状态被动描述结果状态。

The agent is usually introduced by von + dative for a person and durch + accusative for a means or cause: Das Fenster wurde von dem Jungen geöffnet but Das Fenster wurde durch den Wind geöffnet.

施事通常由 von + 与格引入,表示人;由 durch + 宾格引入,表示手段或原因:Das Fenster wurde von dem Jungen geöffnet,但 Das Fenster wurde durch den Wind geöffnet

7. Subjunctive II (Konjunktiv II) | 第二虚拟式

Konjunktiv II expresses unreal conditions, polite requests and reported wishes. The safe pattern is würde + infinitive, but common strong verbs have their own forms: hätte, wäre, könnte, sollte, müsste, dürfte, wollte, möchte.

第二虚拟式表达非现实条件、礼貌请求和转述愿望。最稳妥的结构是 würde + 不定式,但常见强变化动词有自身形式:hätte, wäre, könnte, sollte, müsste, dürfte, wollte, möchte

A frequent error is using the indicative past hatte instead of the subjunctive hätte: Wenn ich reich wäre, würde ich reisen is correct, not ‘Wenn ich reich bin, reise ich’ for an unreal present condition.

一个常见错误是用直陈式过去时 hatte 代替虚拟式 hätteWenn ich reich wäre, würde ich reisen 是正确的,而非现实现在条件不能写成 ‘Wenn ich reich bin, reise ich’

Polite requests also use Konjunktiv II: Könnten Sie mir bitte helfen? and Ich hätte gern einen Kaffee. In essays, candidates can use sollte or müsste to make measured recommendations.

礼貌请求也使用第二虚拟式:Könnten Sie mir bitte helfen?Ich hätte gern einen Kaffee. 在文章中,考生可以用 solltemüsste 来提出有分寸的建议。

8. Word Order in Subordinate Clauses | 从句语序

Subordinating conjunctions such as dass, weil, wenn, obwohl, damit, bevor, nachdem, während, sobald push the finite verb to the end of the clause. This is one of the most consistently tested items in Papers 2 and 3.

从属连词如 dass, weil, wenn, obwohl, damit, bevor, nachdem, während, sobald 将限定动词推到从句句末。这是试卷二和试卷三中考查最稳定的考点之一。

Correct: Ich weiß, dass du heute kommst. Error: ‘Ich weiß, dass du kommst heute’ or ‘weil ich bin müde’. The verb-final rule also applies to indirect questions: Ich frage mich, wo er wohnt.

正确:Ich weiß, dass du heute kommst. 错误:‘Ich weiß, dass du kommst heute’‘weil ich bin müde’。动词置末规则也适用于间接问句:Ich frage mich, wo er wohnt.

With separable verbs, the prefix stays attached at the end: weil ich heute ankomme. With a modal plus infinitive, the modal usually goes after the infinitive: weil ich heute einkaufen gehen muss.

对于可分动词,前缀保留在句末:weil ich heute ankomme。当有情态动词加不定式时,情态动词通常位于不定式之后:weil ich heute einkaufen gehen muss

9. Reading: Text Comprehension and Inference | 阅读理解与推断

CAIE reading tasks require more than word matching. Candidates must identify the main idea, locate supporting detail, distinguish fact from opinion and infer tone or attitude. The most common mistake is selecting an answer that repeats a word from the text but changes its meaning through a missing qualifier.

CAIE 阅读任务要求的不只是词汇对应。考生必须识别主旨、定位支持性细节、区分事实与观点,并推断语气或态度。最常见的错误是选了一个重复原文单词但遗漏限定词、因而意义不同的答案。

Pay attention to qualifiers such as meistens, selten, kaum, fast, vor allem, nur, allerdings. For example, Fast alle Jugendlichen nutzen soziale Medien is not the same as Alle Jugendlichen nutzen soziale Medien.

注意限定词,如 meistens, selten, kaum, fast, vor allem, nur, allerdings。例如,Fast alle Jugendlichen nutzen soziale MedienAlle Jugendlichen nutzen soziale Medien 并不同义。

Use a two-step strategy: underline the question key words, then locate the exact sentence that answers it. Avoid selecting an option based on personal knowledge or a vaguely related phrase; every answer must have textual evidence.

采用两步策略:划出题干关键词,然后找到能回答问题的确切句子。避免根据个人知识或模糊相关的短语选择选项;每个答案都必须有文本证据。

10. Listening: Distractors and Keywords | 听力干扰项与关键词

Listening papers frequently use distractors such as numbers, dates, times and places. The speaker
