📚 IGCSE CAIE German: Case Study Practical Drill | IGCSE CAIE 德语:案例分析实战演练
Case-study practice is one of the most effective ways to prepare for the CAIE IGCSE German examination. By working through realistic tasks in reading, listening, writing and speaking, learners can move from isolated grammar rules to the integrated skills that examiners reward. This article presents ten focused case studies with model answers, common errors and examiner-style commentary.
案例分析实战是备考 CAIE IGCSE 德语最有效的方法之一。通过完成阅读、听力、写作和口语中的真实任务,学习者能够从孤立的语法规则过渡到考官所看重的综合语言技能。本文提供十个有针对性的案例,包含范例答案、常见错误和考官式点评。
1. Exam Overview and Assessment Objectives | 考试概览与评分目标
The CAIE IGCSE German qualification tests four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. Each paper is worth approximately 25% of the total mark, so a balanced revision plan is essential. Examiners assess the ability to understand and respond to spoken and written German, to communicate clearly in speech and writing, and to use grammar and vocabulary accurately in context.
CAIE IGCSE 德语考试考查四项技能:听力、阅读、口语和写作。每份试卷约占总分的 25%,因此均衡的复习计划至关重要。考官评估考生理解并回应德语口语和书面语的能力、在口语和写作中清晰交流的能力,以及在语境中准确使用语法和词汇的能力。
Common paper types include multiple-choice questions, matching tasks, gap-fill exercises, short-answer questions, an email or letter writing task, a picture-based story, role-plays and topic discussions. Understanding mark schemes is as important as knowing vocabulary, because examiners look for relevant content, accurate language and appropriate structure.
常见题型包括选择题、匹配题、填空题、简答题、邮件或信件写作、看图写故事、角色扮演和话题讨论。理解评分标准与掌握词汇同样重要,因为考官看重内容相关性、语言准确性和结构合理性。
2. Case Study 1: Reading – Matching Opinions | 案例一:阅读理解——观点匹配
In this task type, you read several short statements by different people and match each person to a given opinion or category. The key is to underline keywords in both the statements and the options, then look for synonyms or paraphrases rather than identical words. One common trap is a word that appears in both the text and the option but changes the meaning when combined with a negative, such as “nicht” or “kein”.
在这类题目中,你需要阅读不同人的几段简短陈述,并将每个人与给定的观点或类别进行匹配。关键是同时划出陈述和选项中的关键词,然后寻找同义词或改述,而不是完全相同的词。常见陷阱是某个词同时出现在文本和选项中,但与否定词(如 “nicht” 或 “kein”)连用时含义发生改变。
Read this example. Anna says: “Ich esse gern in der Schulkantine, weil das Essen billig ist. Leider schmeckt es manchmal langweilig.” Ben says: “Ich kaufe mein Essen im Supermarkt, denn die Kantine ist mir zu teuer.” Clara says: “Ich bringe mein eigenes Essen mit, weil ich nur vegetarische Sachen mag und die Kantine wenig Auswahl hat.” Which person matches “prefers to avoid canteen prices”? The answer is Ben, because he says the canteen is too expensive, so he shops elsewhere.
阅读以下例子。安娜说:”我喜欢在学校食堂吃饭,因为食物便宜。可惜有时味道单调。” 本说:”我在超市买食物,因为食堂对我来说太贵了。” 克拉拉说:”我自己带饭,因为我只喜欢素食,而食堂选择很少。” 哪个人匹配 “prefers to avoid canteen prices”?答案是本,因为他说食堂太贵,所以从别处购买。
Always justify your choice with a short phrase in German from the text. This helps you avoid guessing and builds the habit of evidence-based reading that Paper 2 rewards.
一定要用文本中的简短德语短语来证明你的选择。这有助于避免猜测,并养成基于证据阅读的习惯,这正是 Paper 2 所奖励的能力。
3. Case Study 2: Reading – True/False with Correction | 案例二:阅读理解——判断正误并改正
This task tests careful reading and the ability to correct factual errors. You must decide whether a statement is true or false according to the text. If it is false, you often need to write the correct information using your own words, not simply copy the text. Look for details such as times, numbers, places and reasons, as these are frequently changed in the statements.
Now look at the statement: “Jonas ist am Sonntag ins Kino gegangen.” This is false. The correct answer is: “Er ist nicht ins Kino gegangen, weil er lernen musste.”
阅读这段短文:”周六约纳斯踢了足球,然后吃了一个冰淇淋。周日他想去电影院,但没有时间,因为他必须为德语考试学习。” 现在看陈述:”约纳斯周日去了电影院。” 这是错误的。正确答案是:”他没有去电影院,因为他必须学习。”
When correcting, keep the tense consistent with the original text. If the text uses the Perfekt tense, your correction should also use the Perfekt, unless the error is specifically about tense.
改正时,时态要与原文保持一致。如果原文使用现在完成时(Perfekt),你的改正也应使用现在完成时,除非错误本身涉及时态。
4. Case Study 3: Writing – Email Reply on School Life | 案例三:写作——回复关于学校生活的邮件
The writing paper often asks you to reply to a German email or letter. The prompt usually tells you to include certain points: describe your school, mention your favourite subject, ask a question, and so on. You must write around 80 to 90 words for the shorter task, so every sentence must carry content. Start with an appropriate greeting, refer to the original message, answer the given points, ask a return question, and close politely.
Was machst du in deiner Freizeit? Schreib mir bald! Viele Grüße, Leo.” This reply covers school pressure, favourite subject, a school facility, weekend activities and a return question.
范例回复:”亲爱的安娜,谢谢你的来信。我很好,但目前压力很大,因为我们有很多家庭作业。我最喜欢的科目是美术,因为我喜欢画画。我们学校还有一个大图书馆。周末我经常骑自行车。你在空闲时间做什么?快点给我写信!此致敬意,莱奥。” 这封回复涵盖了学校压力、最喜欢的科目、学校设施、周末活动和反问。
Avoid ending with “Tschüss” in a formal task unless you are writing to a close friend. Use “Viele Grüße” or “Liebe Grüße” for informal letters. Check verb position after “weil” and “denn” – after “weil” the verb moves to the end, but after “denn” it stays in second position.
除非是写给密友,否则不要在正式任务中用 “Tschüss” 结束。非正式信件用 “Viele Grüße” 或 “Liebe Grüße”。检查 “weil” 和 “denn” 后的动词位置:”weil” 后动词移到句末,而 “denn” 后动词仍居第二位。
5. Case Study 4: Writing – Picture-Based Story | 案例四:写作——看图写故事
In the picture-based writing task, you receive a series of three or four images and must write a connected story. Use the past tense consistently, usually the Perfekt or Präteritum for common verbs like “war” and “hatte”. Link the events with time connectors such as “zuerst”, “dann”, “später”, “plötzlich” and “zum Schluss”. Add one or two descriptive adjectives to show range, but do not overload every noun.
在看图写故事任务中,你会得到三至四幅图片,必须写出连贯的故事。时态要统一使用过去时,常用动词如 “war” 和 “hatte” 可用一般过去时(Präteritum)。用时间连接词如 “zuerst”、”dann”、”später”、”plötzlich” 和 “zum Schluss” 串联事件。添加一两个描述性形容词以展示语言广度,但不要每个名词都堆砌形容词。
Imagine three pictures: a boy drops his wallet in a park; a girl finds it under a bench; she gives it back to him. A possible story is: “Letzten Sonntag ging Max in den Park. Er spielte mit seinen Freunden Fußball. Plötzlich verlor er seinen Geldbeutel. Er suchte überall, aber er konnte ihn nicht finden. Später fand ein Mädchen den Geldbeutel unter einer Bank. Sie gab ihn Max zurück. Max war sehr glücklich und dankte ihr.” This uses past tense, clear sequencing and a simple emotional response.
假设三幅图:一个男孩在公园丢了钱包;一个女孩在长椅下找到钱包;她把钱包还给他。可能的故事是:”上周日马克斯去了公园。他和朋友们踢足球。突然他丢了钱包。他到处找,但找不到。后来一个女孩在长椅下找到了钱包。她把钱包还给了马克斯。马克斯非常高兴并感谢了她。” 这个故事使用了过去时、清晰的时间顺序和简单的情感回应。
Examiners do not expect a complex plot, but they do expect a complete narrative with a beginning, a middle and an end. Avoid leaving the story without a resolution, as this often loses content marks.
考官并不期待复杂的情节,但确实期待有开头、发展和结尾的完整叙事。避免故事没有结局,因为这往往会失去内容分。
6. Case Study 5: Listening – Multiple Choice and Gap Fill | 案例六:听力——多选与填空
Listening tasks require you to process spoken German quickly and accurately. Before the audio plays, read the questions and underline keywords, especially numbers, places and times. Predict the kind of answer you need: a time, a platform number, a reason, a name. During the second listening, check your answers and fill any gaps you missed.
听力任务要求你快速、准确地处理德语口语信息。在音频播放前,阅读问题并划出关键词,尤其是数字、地点和时间。预测你需要哪类答案:时间、站台号、原因、姓名。在第二遍听力时,检查答案并补全遗漏之处。
Listen to this announcement: “Achtung, der Zug nach München fährt heute von Gleis 5 um 14:30 Uhr ab. Wegen Bauarbeiten gibt es leider zehn Minuten Verspätung.” The multiple-choice question asks: “Which platform does the train leave from?” The answer is Gleis 5. Another question asks: “Why is the train delayed?” The answer is “wegen Bauarbeiten” or “because of construction work”.
听这则广播:”请注意,开往慕尼黑的火车今天从 5 号站台 14:30 发车。由于施工,很遗憾晚点十分钟。” 多选题问:”火车从哪个站台出发?” 答案是 5 号站台。另一题问:”火车为什么晚点?” 答案是 “wegen Bauarbeiten” 或 “由于施工”。
For gap-fill listening, do not write full sentences unless the rubric says so. A single word or short phrase is usually enough. Spelling should be as close as possible, but minor errors in non-key words may still be accepted if the meaning is clear.
对于听力填空题,除非题目要求写完整句子,否则不必写整句。通常一个词或短语即可。拼写应尽可能准确,但非关键词的小错误若不影响意思,有时也能被接受。
7. Case Study 6: Speaking – Role-Play Card | 案例七:口语——角色扮演卡片
The speaking test includes a role-play where you must interact with the examiner according to a prompt card. The card usually gives you a situation and asks you to complete two or three tasks, such as asking for information, buying something, or making a request. You should respond naturally and use the polite “Sie” form when speaking to an unfamiliar adult.
口语考试包括角色扮演,你必须根据提示卡与考官互动。卡片通常给出一个情景,并要求完成两三个任务,例如询问信息、购买物品或提出请求。你应该自然地回应,并在与不熟悉的成年人交谈时使用礼貌的 “Sie” 形式。
Example card: “You are in a restaurant in Berlin. Greet the waiter, ask for a table for two, order a pizza and a glass of water, and ask for the bill.” A strong response might be: “Guten Tag. Haben Sie einen Tisch für zwei Personen? Ich möchte eine Pizza und ein Glas Wasser, bitte. Könnten wir jetzt die Rechnung bekommen?” This uses polite forms, clear requests and a logical order.
示例卡片:”你在柏林的一家餐厅。问候服务员,要求一张两人桌,点一份披萨和一杯水,并要求结账。” 一个出色的回应是:”您好。请问有两人桌吗?我想要一份披萨和一杯水。我们现在可以结账吗?” 这使用了礼貌形式、清晰的请求和合理的顺序。
Do not memorise long scripts for role-plays. The examiner may change one detail, and a memorised answer will sound unnatural. Instead, learn functional phrases: “Ich hätte gern…”, “Können Sie mir bitte…?”, “Wie viel kostet…?”, “Das ist alles, danke.” These phrases can be combined flexibly.
不要为角色扮演死记硬背长篇脚本。考官可能更改某个细节,背诵的答案会显得不自然。相反,学习功能性短语:”Ich hätte gern…”(我想要…)、”Können Sie mir bitte…?”(请您…?)、”Wie viel kostet…?”(…多少钱?)、”Das ist alles, danke.”(就这些,谢谢)。这些短语可以灵活组合。
8. Case Study 7: Speaking – Photo Description and Topic Discussion | 案例八:口语——图片描述与话题讨论
In the photo description task, you are given a picture and must describe what you see. Use a clear framework: first say who is in the picture and where they are, then describe what they are doing, and finally comment on the mood or weather. This structure ensures you speak for the required time without repeating yourself.
After the photo description, the examiner will ask questions on a related topic, such as free time, family or the environment. Give full answers, not one-word responses. For example, instead of saying “Ja” to “Spielst du gern Fußball?”, say “Ja, ich spiele gern Fußball, weil ich Sport liebe und mit meinen Freunden zusammen sein kann.”
图片描述之后,考官会就相关话题提问,如空闲时间、家庭或环境。要给出完整回答,而不是一个词。例如,对 “你喜欢踢足球吗?” 不要只说 “是”,而应说:”是的,我喜欢踢足球,因为我热爱运动,而且能和朋友们在一起。”
9. Case Study 8: Grammar Traps in Context | 案例九:语境中的语法陷阱
German grammar is heavily context-dependent, and examiners often test word order, cases, adjective endings and tense consistency. One of the most common errors is forgetting that in a subordinate clause introduced by “weil”, “dass” or “wenn”, the conjugated verb moves to the end of the clause. Compare the incorrect sentence “Ich esse keinen Kuchen, weil ich habe Allergie” with the correct “Ich esse keinen Kuchen, weil ich Allergie habe.”
德语语法高度依赖语境,考官经常测试语序、格、形容词词尾和时态一致性。最常见的错误之一是忘记在由 “weil”、”dass” 或 “wenn” 引导的从句中,变位动词要移到从句末尾。比较错误的句子 “Ich esse keinen Kuchen, weil ich habe Allergie” 与正确的 “Ich esse keinen Kuchen, weil ich Allergie habe.”
Adjective endings also cause problems because they depend on gender, case and article. After a definite article in the nominative case, the adjective usually ends in “-e”: “der neue Film”, “die alte Frau”, “das kleine Kind”. After an indefinite article, the ending shows gender more clearly: “ein neuer Film”, “eine alte Frau”, “ein kleines Kind”. Learn these patterns with example phrases rather than isolated endings.
Preposition-case combinations must be accurate: “mit” always takes the dative, so “mit dem Hund” is correct, not “mit den Hund”. “Für” takes the accusative, so “für den Hund” is correct. A small number of two-way prepositions, such as “in”, “an” and “auf”, take dative for location and accusative for movement: “Ich bin in der Schule” versus “Ich gehe in die Schule.”
介词与格的搭配必须准确:”mit” 总是支配第三格,所以 “mit dem Hund” 正确,而不是 “mit den Hund”。”Für” 支配第四格,所以 “für den Hund” 正确。少数双介词如 “in”、”an” 和 “auf” 表位置时支配第三格,表移动时支配第四格:”Ich bin in der Schule”(我在学校)与 “Ich gehe in die Schule”(我去学校)。
10. Case Study 9: Error Correction Drill | 案例十:错误订正练习
Correct the following sentences and explain why the original is wrong. This drill mirrors the kind of language-focused questions that appear in the writing paper and helps you internalise high-frequency corrections.
订正下列句子并解释原句为何错误。这项练习模拟写作卷中出现的语言类考点,帮助你内化高频订正。
- Incorrect: “Gestern ich habe einen Film gesehen.” Correct: “Gestern habe ich einen Film gesehen.” The time word “gestern” occupies the first position, so the finite verb “habe” must remain in second
