The equation of a straight line is written as y = mx + c, where m is the gradient and c is the y-intercept. You need to be able to sketch graphs from an equation and find the equation from a graph.

The graph of a quadratic function is a parabola. Its equation can be written in the vertex form y = a(x − h)² + k, where (h, k) is the vertex. The sign of a determines whether the parabola opens upwards or downwards.

mean = sum of all values / total number of values
