Mensuration is the branch of mathematics that deals with the measurement of geometric figures, including their lengths, areas and volumes. 2. Compound Shapes | 复合图形
Compound shapes are figures made by joining two or more basic shapes. The most reliable strategy is to split the figure into recognisable parts, calculate each part separately, then add or subtract the areas as required.

Always show the individual areas you calculate in your working, as method marks are awarded even if the final answer is incorrect. In IGCSE mark schemes, each correctly calculated sub-area typically earns a mark, so clear working is your safety net.
