1. Read the Question Carefully | 仔细审题

Identify command words. Words such as ‘show’, ‘prove’, ‘evaluate’, ‘sketch’ and ‘hence’ indicate the exact response expected. A ‘show that’ question requires a convincing argument, while ‘hence’ means you must use the previous result.

识别指令词。 ‘show’(证明)、’prove’(求证)、’evaluate’(计算)、’sketch’(画草图)和 ‘hence’(由此)等词决定了应给出什么类型的答案。’show that’ 需要令人信服的论证,而 ‘hence’ 意味着必须使用前文结果。

Highlight key information. Circle numbers, units, variables and conditions. For example, if a question states ‘x > 0’ or ‘assume no air resistance’, these conditions change your method.
