1. Heart Rate and Graphs | 心率与图表

Monitoring your heart rate is one of the first scientific skills you develop in PE. Find your pulse on your wrist or neck, count the beats for 15 seconds and then multiply by 4 to obtain beats per minute (bpm).

2. Speed, Distance and Time in Sprinting | 短跑中的速度、距离与时间

Sprinting events are all about covering a known distance in the shortest possible time. The formula connecting speed, distance and time is one of the most useful pieces of numeracy in sport.

Speed = Distance ÷ Time

If an athlete completes a 100 m race in 12.5 seconds, we calculate the average speed as follows:

Speed = 100 m ÷ 12.5 s = 8 m/s

You can also convert this to kilometres per hour by multiplying by 3.6: 8 × 3.6 = 28.8 km/h. Unit conversions like this frequently appear in WJEC-style integrated tasks.
