In SQA Higher Biology, practical skills are assessed through two main components: the practical assignment (or ‘assignment’) which accounts for a proportion of marks, and practical-based questions integrated into the final exam papers. The assignment typically requires you to plan, carry out, and report on an investigation under controlled conditions, while exam questions test your ability to handle data, analyse graphs, and evaluate procedures.
