1. Overview of GCSE AQA German Writing Paper | GCSE AQA 德语写作试卷概述

The AQA GCSE German writing paper assesses your ability to communicate in written German across different tasks. For Foundation tier, the final question is a 90-word essay; for Higher tier, you must write a 150-word essay. Both tiers require you to respond to bullet points, express opinions and use a range of grammatical structures. Examiners mark your essay on Content, Range of Language and Accuracy.

AQA GCSE 德语写作试卷考查你运用书面德语完成不同任务的能力。基础层次最后一题是一篇 90 词的文章;高级层次则需要写一篇 150 词的文章。两个层次都要求你根据给定的要点作答,表达观点并运用多种语法结构。考官从内容、语言丰富度和准确性三个维度来评分。

The essays are usually presented as a short article, blog post or letter. You must address all bullet points equally and organise your ideas logically. Even a straightforward topic like ‘Deine Schule’ (Your school) becomes an opportunity to showcase sophisticated vocabulary and connectives if you plan ahead.

论文题目通常以短文、博文或信件的形式出现。你必须均衡地涵盖所有要点,并有逻辑地组织你的想法。即使是一个像“Deine Schule”(你的学校)这样直白的话题,只要提前规划好,也能成为展示高级词汇和连接词的好机会。

2. Understanding the Essay Question | 理解论文题目

Before you start writing, spend two to three minutes reading the question carefully. Identify the four bullet points, which are usually in English at Foundation level and in German at Higher level. Underline the key words that tell you what to include, such as ‘describe’, ‘give your opinion’, ‘what you did last weekend’, or ‘advantages and disadvantages’.

动笔前,先用两到三分钟仔细审题。找出四个提示要点——基础层次通常用英语给出,高级层次用德语。在关键提示词下划线,比如“ beschreiben”(描述)、“deine Meinung sagen”(表达你的观点)、“was du letztes Wochenende gemacht hast”(你上周末做了什么)或“Vorteile und Nachteile”(优点与缺点)。

Make sure you understand the text type. If the question asks for a blog, use an appropriate opening and closing. If it is a letter, include a salutation and a farewell formula. Matching the text type shows the examiner you can adapt your language to different real-life contexts.

确保你清楚要求的文本类型。如果题目要求写博文,就要用合适的开头和结尾。如果是信件,就要包括称呼和结束语。贴合文本类型能让考官看到你能够根据不同的真实语境调整语言表达。

3. Essay Structure: Introduction, Body, Conclusion | 论文结构:引言、主体、结论

Every strong essay follows a clear three-part structure: an introduction, a main body and a conclusion. In a 90-word essay, your introduction can be one or two sentences; in a 150-word essay, it can be slightly longer. This structure helps you stay focused and ensures you cover all bullet points without rambling.

每一篇好文章都遵循清晰的三段式结构:引言、主体和结论。在 90 词的文章中,引言可以是一到两句话;在 150 词的文章里,可以稍微长一些。这个结构能帮助你集中注意力,确保涵盖所有要点而不跑题。

The body should be divided into paragraphs corresponding to the bullet points. Use one paragraph for each main point, and include connectives to link your ideas smoothly. The conclusion wraps up your essay with a final opinion or a look to the future, leaving the examiner with a positive impression.

主体部分应按提示要点分段。每个要点写一个段落,并运用连接词使观点之间的过渡流畅自然。结论部分用最终观点或对未来的展望来为文章收尾,给考官留下一个积极的印象。

4. Key Phrases for Introductions | 引言常用的关键短语

A polished introduction immediately signals that you have a good command of German. Below is a table of versatile phrases you can adapt to almost any essay topic. Start by stating the theme and then outline what you will discuss.

一个精炼的引言能立刻展示出你扎实的德语功底。下面的表格提供了一些几乎适用任何议论文主题的通用短语。先用一句点明主题,再概述你将讨论的内容。

German Phrase English Meaning
In diesem Aufsatz möchte ich über … schreiben. In this essay I would like to write about …
Zuerst werde ich … beschreiben, dann … und zum Schluss … First I will describe …, then … and finally …
Das Thema … ist heutzutage sehr wichtig, weil … The topic … is very important nowadays because …
Viele Leute sagen, dass …, aber ich bin anderer Meinung. Many people say that …, but I am of a different opinion.

You can combine these starters to create a personalised opening. For example: ‘In diesem Aufsatz möchte ich über meine Ferien schreiben. Zuerst werde ich meine Reise beschreiben, dann werde ich meine Meinung zu Hotelurlauben geben und zum Schluss über zukünftige Pläne sprechen.’ The examiner rewards you for showing structure from the very first line.

你可以将这些开头句组合起来,形成一个个性化的开篇。例如:“在这篇文章中,我想写写我的假期。首先我会描述我的旅行,然后我会表达对酒店度假的看法,最后谈谈未来的计划。”从文章第一行就展现出清晰的结构,考官会因此给你加分。

5. Building Coherent Paragraphs | 构建连贯的段落

Each paragraph should start with a topic sentence that tells the reader what the paragraph is about. After the topic sentence, add relevant details, examples or opinions. End the paragraph with a mini-conclusion or a linking sentence that prepares for the next bullet point.

每个段落都应该以一个主题句开头,告诉读者该段要讲什么。在主题句之后,补充相关的细节、例子或观点。段落结尾可以是一个小总结,也可以是一个为下个要点做铺垫的过渡句。

Use the P-E-E structure (Point – Evidence – Explanation) to build substantial paragraphs. For instance, if the bullet point is ‘what you like doing at the weekend’, state your point (Ich spiele gern Fußball), give evidence (weil ich mit Freunden zusammen sein kann) and explain further (Das macht mir Spaß und ich fühle mich fit). This technique prevents very short, disconnected sentences.

使用 P-E-E 结构(观点 – 证据 – 解释)来构建内容充实的段落。例如,如果提示要点是“你周末喜欢做什么”,你可以先陈述观点(我很喜欢踢足球),提供证据(因为我可以和朋友在一起),并进一步解释(这让我开心,也觉得身体健康)。这种方法能避免写出太短且互不关联的句子。

6. Linking Words and Connectives | 连接词与关联词

Connectives are the glue that holds your essay together. Using a variety of linking words shows the examiner that you can move beyond simple ‘und’ and ‘aber’. The table below groups connectives by function so you can choose the right one every time.

连接词是粘合文章的重要元素。使用多样化的连接词能向考官证明你不仅仅只会用“und”和“aber”。下面的表格将连接词按功能分组,方便你每次都能选对合适的词。

Function German Connectives English
Addition außerdem, dazu, auch, und also, as well as, and
Contrast aber, jedoch, andererseits, obwohl but, however, on the other hand, although
Reason weil, da, denn, wegen (+genitive) because, as, for, because of
Sequence zuerst, dann, danach, schließlich first, then, afterwards, finally
Opinion meiner Meinung nach, ich glaube, dass in my opinion, I believe that

Remember the word order rule: after ‘weil’, ‘da’ and ‘obwohl’, the verb moves to the end of the clause. After ‘denn’ and ‘aber’, the verb stays in second position. Varying your connectives is one of the easiest ways to boost your mark for Range of Language.

要记住语序规则:“weil”、“da”和“obwohl”引导的从句,变位动词置于从句末尾。而“denn”和“aber”之后,动词保持第二位的语序。变换连接词是提升语言丰富度分数最简单的方法之一。

7. Expressing Opinions and Justifications | 表达观点及论证

Every GCSE German essay must include a clear opinion with a justification. Simply saying ‘Ich mag Sport’ is not enough; you need to explain why with a clause like ‘weil es gesund ist’ or ‘da ich mich dann entspannen kann’. The exam board expects at least one justified opinion per bullet point.

每一篇 GCSE 德语论文都必须包含清晰的观点及论证。仅仅说“我喜欢运动”是不够的;你必须解释原因,比如用“weil es gesund ist”或“da ich mich dann entspannen kann”这样的从句。考纲要求每个提示要点至少包含一个经论证的观点。

To achieve higher marks, use more sophisticated opinion phrases such as ‘Ich bin der festen Ueberzeugung, dass …’ (I am firmly convinced that …) or ‘Ich halte … für …’ (I consider … to be …). You can also balance opinions with ‘einerseits … andererseits …’ to show you can see both sides of an argument.

想要取得更高的分数,你可以使用更复杂的观点表达,比如“Ich bin der festen Überzeugung, dass …”(我深信……)或“Ich halte … für …”(我认为……是……)。你也可以用“einerseits … andererseits …”(一方面……另一方面……)来平衡不同观点,表明你能看到问题的两面。

8. Tenses and Grammar in Essays | 论文中的时态与语法

AQA examiners look for at least three tenses in a Higher-tier essay and at least two in Foundation. The most common combination is present, perfect and future. The present tense describes habits and current situations; the perfect tense narrates past events; the future tense expresses plans and predictions.

AQA 考官希望高级层次的论文至少包含三种时态,基础层次至少两种。最常见的组合是现在时、完成时和将来时。现在时描述习惯和当前状况;完成时叙述过去的事件;将来时表达计划和预测。

Insert future tense by using ‘Ich werde … + infinitive’ or ‘Ich möchte … + infinitive’. For the perfect tense, revise the auxiliary verbs ‘haben’ and ‘sein’ and put the past participle at the end of the clause. Additionally, include modal verbs like ‘ich muss’ (I must), ‘ich kann’ (I can) and ‘ich will’ (I want) to add complexity because they change the word order and force a second verb to the end.

使用“Ich werde … + 不定式”或“Ich möchte … + 不定式”来插入将来时。对于完成时,要复习助动词“haben”和“sein”,并把过去分词放在句末。另外,多使用情态动词如“ich muss”(我必须)、“ich kann”(我可以)和“ich will”(我想要),它们会改变语序并把第二个动词推至句末,从而增加句子的复杂度。

9. Model Essay: My Free Time (Foundation) | 范文:我的业余时间(基础层次)

Below is a Foundation-tier model essay responding to the bullet points: what you do in your free time, what you did last weekend, your opinion on team sports and what you will do next weekend. The essay uses present, perfect and future tenses, as well as connectives and opinions.

English: In my free time I like to play computer games because that is very relaxing. I also often go to the park with friends. Last weekend I played football and scored a goal. I think team sport is great because you have to work together. Next weekend I will go to the cinema and watch a film.

This 92-word essay addresses all four bullet points, uses ‘weil’ correctly, and includes the three required tenses. The connectives ‘außerdem’ and ‘weil’ link ideas, and ‘Ich finde’ gives a clear opinion. To improve further, a student could replace ‘Ich finde’ with ‘Meiner Meinung nach’ and add ‘da’ as an alternative conjunction.

这篇 92 词的文章涵盖了全部四个要点,正确使用了“weil”,并包含了三种必需要掌握的时态。连接词“außerdem”和“weil”关联了各观点,而“Ich finde”给出了明确的意见。如果想进一步提升,学生可以把“Ich finde”替换为“Meiner Meinung nach”,并加入“da”作为另一种原因的连接词。

10. Model Essay: Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Media (Higher) | 范文:社交媒体的优缺点(高级层次)

This Higher-tier essay responds to the prompt: Schreiben Sie einen Aufsatz über soziale Medien. Bullet points: how you use social media, advantages, disadvantages, your opinion on the future. It demonstrates complex structures, idiomatic expressions and a balanced argument.

English: Nowadays I use social media such as Instagram and TikTok to keep in touch with friends. A big advantage is that you can share information quickly. On the other hand, there are also disadvantages: many young people spend too much time online, which can lead to stress. Although social media is practical, I think it is important to set limits. In the future I will reduce my usage because I have to concentrate more on school.

This essay uses ‘um … zu’ infinitive clause, relative clause ‘was … kann’, the subordinating conjunction ‘obwohl’, the modal verb ‘muss’ and a variety of connectives. Phrases like ‘es ist wichtig, … zu …’ push the language into the top band. The balanced view (‘Ein großer Vorteil … andererseits …’) directly addresses the marking criteria for content and range.

这篇范文使用了“um … zu”不定式从句、关系从句“was … kann”、从属连词“obwohl”、情态动词“muss”以及多种连接词。“es ist wichtig, … zu …”这类句式将语言推向了高分区。均衡的观点(“Ein großer Vorteil … andererseits …” )直接契合了内容与语言丰富度的评分标准。

11. Common Mistakes to Avoid | 常见错误及避免方法

Many students lose marks because of avoidable errors. The most frequent mistake is ignoring the word order after ‘weil’ and ‘obwohl’. Always double-check that the conjugated verb moves to the very end of the dependent clause. Another common slip is confusing ‘wenn’ (if/whenever) and ‘als’ (when in the past).

许多学生因为可以避免的错误而丢分。最常见的错误是忽略了“weil”和“obwohl”后面的语序。一定要再次检查变位动词是否移到了从句的最末尾。另一个常见失误是混淆 “wenn”(如果/每当)和“als”(过去一次性发生的“当……时”)。

Also, watch out for overusing the simple ‘und’. Instead, vary with ‘außerdem’, ‘dazu’ or ‘sowie’. Finally, avoid writing a list of unconnected sentences. Your essay must flow, so plan your paragraphs with connectives before you start writing. A quick one-minute plan saves you from running out of time or forgetting a bullet point.

另外,要当心不要过度使用简单的“und”,可以换用“außerdem”、“dazu”或“sowie”。最后,避免写出一串互不关联的句子。你的文章必须流畅连贯,因此动笔前先用连接词规划好段落。快速的一分钟计划能避免你时间不够或遗漏某个要点。

12. Final Tips for Success | 成功的最后提示

At the end of your preparation, memorise a set of five to six high-impact phrases that you can use in any essay. These might include a complex opinion phrase, a future-tense construction and an ‘um … zu’ clause. Being able to drop these into your essay under pressure will instantly raise the quality of your writing.

在备考的最后阶段,背熟五六句任何文章都能用的高分短语。这些可以包括一个复杂的观点表达句式、一个将来时结构和一个“um … zu”从句。能在考试压力下将这些句式灵活运用到文章中,会立刻提升你作文的质量。

On the day of the exam, read the bullet points very carefully, plan your paragraphs for one minute and then write with confidence. Leave two minutes at the end to check spelling, verb positions and capitalisation of nouns. Every small correction can make the difference between one grade boundary and the next.

考试当天,仔细阅读提示要点,花一分钟规划段落,然后自信地开始写作。留出最后两分钟检查拼写、动词位置和名词大写。每一处细微的修正都可能决定你最终是跨入上一个等级还是留在当前等级。
