📚 KS3 Cambridge Spanish: Quick Reference Formula & Theorem Handbook | KS3剑桥西班牙语:公式定理速查手册

Learning Spanish at KS3 level is not just about memorising vocabulary; it is about understanding the underlying patterns that make the language work. Just like in mathematics, Spanish grammar has its own set of formulas and theorems. These rules allow you to build sentences, conjugate verbs, and express ideas accurately. This handbook collects the essential ‘formulas’ you need to know, from noun gender rules to verb conjugation patterns, all explained clearly so you can use them instantly in your writing and speaking.

在KS3阶段学习西班牙语不仅仅是背单词,更重要的是理解让语言运转的底层规律。和数学一样,西班牙语语法也有自己的一套公式和定理。这些规则让你能够造句、变位动词并准确表达思想。这本速查手册收集了你需要掌握的核心“公式”,从名词的性数规则到动词变位模式,讲解清晰易懂,让你可以立刻运用在写作和口语中。

1. The Gender Formula for Nouns | 名词的性别公式

In Spanish, every noun is either masculine or feminine. The general formula is: nouns ending in -o are masculine (e.g., el niño, el libro), and nouns ending in -a are feminine (e.g., la niña, la casa). However, there are exceptions that need a special rule: nouns ending in -ción, -sión, -dad, -tad, -umbre are feminine (la canción, la ciudad, la costumbre), while nouns ending in -ma of Greek origin are often masculine (el problema, el sistema).

-a Feminine / 阴性 la chica
-ción / -sión Feminine / 阴性 la estación
-dad / -tad Feminine / 阴性 la universidad
-ma (Greek origin / 希腊起源) Masculine / 阳性 el tema

2. The Article Agreement Theorem | 冠词一致定理

The definite and indefinite articles must match the gender and number of the noun: el / un for masculine singular, la / una for feminine singular, los / unos for masculine plural, and las / unas for feminine plural. Think of it as a plug-and-play formula: article + noun = agreed pair. Never forget that before a singular feminine noun starting with a stressed ‘a’ or ‘ha’, the masculine article ‘el’ is used to avoid awkward sounds, but the noun remains feminine (el agua fría).

定冠词和不定冠词必须与名词的性和数保持一致:el / un用于阳性单数,la / una用于阴性单数,los / unos用于阳性复数,las / unas用于阴性复数。可以把它看作一个即插即用的公式:冠词 + 名词 = 一致配对。不要忘记,在以重读字母’a’或’ha’开头的单数阴性名词前,要使用阳性冠词’el’以避免难听的音,但名词依然是阴性(el agua fría)。

3. Adjective Agreement Formula | 形容词一致公式

Descriptive adjectives follow the same gender-number agreement rule as nouns. The standard formula: for masculine singular, use the base adjective with -o (alto); for feminine singular, change to -a (alta); for masculine plural, add -s to the masculine form (altos); for feminine plural, add -s to the feminine form (altas). Adjectives ending in -e or a consonant are gender-neutral and only change for number: inteligente → inteligentes; difícil → difíciles.

描述性形容词遵循与名词相同的性数一致规则。标准公式:阳性单数用基本形容词加-o(alto);阴性单数变为-a(alta);阳性复数在阳性形式后加-s(altos);阴性复数在阴性形式后加-s(altas)。以-e或辅音结尾的形容词语性别中立,只随数变化:inteligente → inteligentes; difícil → difíciles。

Type / 类型 Singular / 单数 Plural / 复数
-o/-a endings rojo / roja rojos / rojas
-e or consonant / 辅音结尾 grande / joven grandes / jóvenes

4. Present Tense Conjugation Formulas: -AR, -ER, -IR Verbs | 现在时动词变位公式:-AR, -ER, -IR动词

The present indicative is built by removing the infinitive ending and adding subject endings. Commit these three formulas to memory: for -AR verbs, use -o, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an; for -ER verbs, use -o, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en; for -IR verbs, use -o, -es, -e, -imos, -ís, -en. Note that the only difference between -ER and -IR appears in the ‘nosotros’ and ‘vosotros’ forms.

现在时陈述式是通过去掉不定式词尾并加上主语词尾构成的。记住这三个公式:对于-AR动词,使用 -o, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an;对于-ER动词,使用 -o, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en;对于-IR动词,使用 -o, -es, -e, -imos, -ís, -en。注意-ER和-IR的区别只出现在“我们”和“你们”的形式上。

hablar: hablo, hablas, habla, hablamos, habláis, hablan
comer: como, comes, come, comemos, coméis, comen
vivir: vivo, vives, vive, vivimos, vivís, viven

5. The SER and ESTAR Theorem: Two ‘To Be’ Verbs | SER与ESTAR定理:两个“是”动词

The choice between SER and ESTAR follows a clear set of conditions, which we can call the DOCTOR and PLACE formulas. Use SER for: Description (physical/personality), Occupation, Characteristic time (day, date, time), Origin, and Relationship. Use ESTAR for: Position, Location, Action (present progressive), Condition (temporary), and Emotion. Memorise these as: ‘How you are and what you do, use SER; how you feel and where you are, use ESTAR.’

SER和ESTAR之间的选择遵循一套清晰的条件,我们可以称之为DOCTOR和PLACE公式。用SER表示:描述(外貌/个性)、职业、时间特征(星期、日期、时间)、起源和关系。用ESTAR表示:位置、地点、正在进行的行为、临时状况和情绪。记住:“你是什么和你做什么,用SER;你感觉如何和你在哪里,用ESTAR。”

SER (DOCTOR) ESTAR (PLACE)
Description, Occupation, Time, Origin, Relationship Position, Location, Action (estar + -ando/-iendo), Condition, Emotion
Soy alto, es médico, son las dos, somos de Londres Estoy sentado, está en casa, está leyendo, estoy cansado, está triste

6. The TENER and HABER Distinction Formula | TENER与HABER区别公式

TENER means ‘to have’ in the sense of possession, but it is also used for expressions of age, hunger, thirst, and certain states. The formula: tener + noun (tengo hambre, tengo 12 años). HABER is a helper verb ‘to have’ used to form perfect tenses (he comido) and as the impersonal expression hay (there is/are). So remember: TENER = own/feel/express; HABER = auxiliary + existence.

TENER表示“拥有”的意思,也用于表达年龄、饥饿、口渴和某些状态。公式是:tener + 名词(tengo hambre, tengo 12 años)。HABER是助动词“有”,用来构成完成时(he comido)以及无人称表达hay(有)。所以记住:TENER = 拥有/感受/表达;HABER = 助词 + 存现。

TENER (Possession & Idioms / 所有及惯用) HABER (Auxiliary & Existence / 助词及存在)
tener hambre, tener sed, tener años, tener suerte he hablado, has comido; hay muchos libros, hay una mesa

7. The GUSTAR Construction Formula | GUSTAR结构公式

GUSTAR and similar verbs (encantar, interesar, importar) use a reversed formula compared to English. The subject is the thing liked, and the person is expressed by an indirect object pronoun (me, te, le, nos, os, les). The verb agrees with the liked item: Me gusta el chocolate (singular), Me gustan los libros (plural). If you want to name the person, add a + name/pronoun: A Juan le gusta nadar.

GUSTAR及类似的动词(encantar, interesar, importar)使用与英语相反的公式。主语是喜欢的事物,人用间接宾语代词(me, te, le, nos, os, les)表达。动词要与喜欢的事物的数量一致:Me gusta el chocolate(单数),Me gustan los libros(复数)。如果要指明喜欢的人,加上a + 名字/代词:A Juan le gusta nadar。

Me gusta + singular noun / infinitive
Me gustan + plural noun

8. The Near Future Formula: IR + A + Infinitive | 简单将来时公式:IR + A + 不定式

To talk about what is going to happen, use the formula IR (conjugated) + a + infinitive. Conjugate the verb IR in the present tense to match the subject, then add ‘a’, then the action verb in its infinitive form. This is one of the most powerful KS3 formulas because it lets you express future plans without learning a separate future tense. Example: Voy a estudiar (I am going to study); Van a visitar (They are going to visit).

要谈论将要发生的事情,使用公式IR(变位)+ a + 不定式。把动词IR按现在时变位与主语匹配,然后加’a’,再接动词不定式。这是KS3阶段最有用的公式之一,因为你不必学习独立将来时就能表达未来计划。例子:Voy a estudiar(我要去学习);Van a visitar(他们要去参观)。

Voy a comer, Vas a leer, Va a salir, Vamos a jugar, Vais a cantar, Van a dormir

9. The Preterite Simple Formula for Regular Verbs | 规则动词简单过去时公式

The simple past (preterite) of regular verbs follows two distinct formulas: one for -AR verbs and one for -ER/-IR verbs. For -AR: -é, -aste, -ó, -amos, -asteis, -aron. For -ER/-IR: -í, -iste, -ió, -imos, -isteis, -ieron. Pay attention to the ‘nosotros’ form for -ER/-IR, which is identical to the present of -IR verbs in context. Stem-changing verbs keep the change only in the third person: dormir → durmió.

规则动词的简单过去时(点过去)遵循两个不同的公式:一个用于-AR动词,一个用于-ER/-IR动词。对于-AR:-é, -aste, -ó, -amos, -asteis, -aron。对于-ER/-IR:-í, -iste, -ió, -imos, -isteis, -ieron。注意-ER/-IR的“我们”形式与一般现在时的-IR动词形式上相同,需依靠上下文区分。词干变化动词只在第三人称发生:dormir → durmió。

-AR (hablar) -ER/-IR (comer/vivir)
hablé (I spoke) comí / viví (I ate/lived)
hablaste (you spoke) comiste / viviste
habló (he/she spoke) comió / vivió
hablamos (we spoke) comimos / vivimos
hablasteis (you all spoke) comisteis / vivisteis
hablaron (they spoke) comieron / vivieron

10. The Informal Affirmative Command Formula | 非正式肯定命令式公式

To tell a friend or someone you address as ‘tú’ to do something, use the informal affirmative command. The formula is simple: for regular verbs, take the third person singular (él/ella/usted) form of the present indicative. This means -ar verbs end in -a (habla!), and -er/-ir verbs end in -e (come!, escribe!). There are a few irregulars to memorise: hacer → haz, poner → pon, salir → sal, ir → ve, etc.

要叫一个朋友或你以’tú’称呼的人做某事,使用非正式肯定命令式。公式很简单:对于规则动词,取现在时陈述式的第三人称单数(él/ella/usted)形式。这意味着-ar动词以-a结尾(habla!),-er/-ir动词以-e结尾(come!, escribe!)。有几个不规则形式要记住:hacer → haz, poner → pon, salir → sal, ir → ve等。

hablar → habla!    comer → come!    escribir → escribe!

11. The Comparative and Superlative Formula | 比较级和最高级公式

Comparisons in Spanish follow a strict formula using más … que (more … than), menos … que (less … than), and tan … como (as … as) for equality. To form superlatives, place the definite article before más: el/la/los/las + más + adjective + de (the most … of). Irregular forms match English: bueno → mejor (better/best), malo → peor, grande → mayor, pequeño → menor. Memorise these as fixed formulas.

Equality / 同等 tan + adjective + como Soy tan inteligente como tú.
Superlative / 最高级 el/la + más + adjective + de Es el estudiante más listo de la clase.

12. The Basic Sentence Structure Theorem | 基本句式结构定理

Spanish word order is more flexible than English, but the basic formula for a declarative sentence is: Subject + Verb + Object + (extra information). For questions, simply swap the subject and verb, or just use rising intonation with no word order change: ¿Tú comes pizza? Negation is placed before the verb: No + verb. When there is an object pronoun (me, te, lo, la, nos, os, los, las), it goes directly before the conjugated verb: Lo veo (I see it); or attached to an infinitive/gerund: Voy a verlo.

西班牙语的语序比英语更灵活,但陈述句的基本公式是:主语 + 动词 + 宾语 + (附加信息)。疑问句只需将主语和动词交换位置,或仅使用升调而不改变语序:¿Tú comes pizza? 否定词置于动词之前:No + 动词。当有宾格代词(me, te, lo, la, nos, os, los, las)时,代词直接放在变位动词之前:Lo veo(我看见它);或附着在不定式/副动词之后:Voy a verlo。

Affirmative: (Subject) + Verb + Object
Negative: (Subject) + No + Verb + Object
Question: ¿Verb + Subject + Object? or ¿Subject + Verb + Object? (with intonation)
