This mark scheme is designed for a 40-mark worksheet. Award one mark for each correct scientific point unless a question states otherwise. Accept equivalent wording as long as the meaning matches the model answer.

Do not penalise spelling errors unless the word becomes unrecognisable or changes meaning. For example, ‘particul’ can be accepted for ‘particle’ in context, but ‘particular’ should not be accepted for ‘particle’.
