欢迎阅读本篇KS3 CIE固体、液体和气体复习指南。本文将解释粒子模型,比较物质的三种状态,并通过词汇搜索活动帮助你练习关键术语。

1. States of Matter | 物质的三种状态

All substances around us are made of matter. Matter can exist in three common states: solid, liquid and gas. The state depends on temperature and pressure.

我们周围的所有物质都是由物质组成的。物质通常以三种状态存在:固体、液体和气体。状态取决于温度和压强。

For example, water can be ice (solid), liquid water and steam (gas). These are not different substances; they are the same substance in different states.

例如,水可以是冰(固体)、液态水和水蒸气(气体)。它们不是不同的物质;它们是同一种物质的不同状态。

2. Particle Model Basics | 粒子模型基础

The particle model is a simple way to explain the behaviour of solids, liquids and gases. It states that all matter is made of tiny particles that are too small to see.

粒子模型是解释固体、液体和气体行为的简单方法。它指出所有物质都由小到看不见的微粒组成。

The particles are always moving. The amount of movement and the space between particles determine the state of matter.

粒子总是在运动。粒子的运动程度和粒子之间的距离决定了物质的状态。

3. Properties of Solids | 固体的性质

In a solid, the particles are packed closely together in a regular arrangement. They vibrate in fixed positions but cannot move around.

在固体中,粒子紧密排列成规则的结构。它们在固定位置振动,但不能四处移动。

This explains why solids have a fixed shape and a fixed volume. They cannot be compressed because there is very little space between particles.

这就解释了为什么固体有固定的形状和固定的体积。固体不能被压缩,因为粒子之间的空间非常小。

4. Properties of Liquids | 液体的性质

In a liquid, the particles are close together but not in a regular pattern. They can slide past one another, so a liquid can flow and take the shape of its container.

在液体中,粒子彼此靠近但没有规则的排列。它们可以相互滑动,因此液体可以流动并呈现容器的形状。

A liquid has a fixed volume but no fixed shape. Liquids are also very difficult to compress because the particles are still close together.

液体有固定的体积,但没有固定的形状。液体也很难被压缩,因为粒子仍然靠得很近。

5. Properties of Gases | 气体的性质

In a gas, the particles are much further apart and move quickly in all directions. They collide with each other and with the walls of their container.

在气体中,粒子之间的距离要远得多,并且向各个方向快速运动。它们相互碰撞并与容器壁碰撞。

Gases have no fixed shape and no fixed volume. They spread out to fill any container and can be compressed easily because there is a lot of space between particles.

气体没有固定的形状,也没有固定的体积。它们会扩散并充满任何容器,而且由于粒子之间有大量空间,气体很容易被压缩。

6. Changes of State | 状态变化

Substances can change from one state to another when they are heated or cooled. These changes are physical changes, not chemical changes.

物质在加热或冷却时可以从一种状态转变为另一种状态。这些变化是物理变化,不是化学变化。

The main changes of state are melting, freezing, boiling, evaporating, condensing and subliming. The particles themselves do not change; only their arrangement and movement change.

主要的状态变化包括熔化、凝固、沸腾、蒸发、凝结和升华。粒子本身没有变化;改变的只是它们的排列和运动。

7. Melting and Boiling | 熔化和沸腾

Melting is the change from solid to liquid. For pure water, melting occurs at 0 °C. Boiling is the change from liquid to gas, which occurs at 100 °C for water at normal pressure.

熔化是从固体变成液体的过程。纯水在0 °C时熔化。沸腾是从液体变成气体的过程,在常压下水在100 °C时沸腾。

During melting and boiling, energy is supplied to the particles. The energy makes particles vibrate faster and move further apart, overcoming the forces between them.

在熔化和沸腾过程中,能量传递给粒子。能量使粒子振动得更快、距离更远,从而克服了粒子之间的作用力。

8. Evaporation and Condensation | 蒸发和凝结

Evaporation is the change from liquid to gas that happens at the surface of a liquid, below its boiling point. It can happen at any temperature, but it is faster when the liquid is warmer.

蒸发是在液体表面发生的从液体变成气体的过程,温度低于沸点。它可以在任何温度下发生,但液体温度越高,蒸发越快。

Condensation is the opposite change, from gas to liquid. It occurs when gas particles lose energy and come closer together, for example when steam touches a cold surface.

凝结是相反的变化,从气体变成液体。当气体粒子失去能量并靠得更近时就会发生凝结,例如水蒸气接触冷表面时。

9. Diffusion and Gas Pressure | 扩散和气体压强

Diffusion is the spreading out of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. It happens fastest in gases and slowest in solids.

扩散是粒子从高浓度区域向低浓度区域扩散的过程。它在气体中最快,在固体中最慢。

Gas pressure is caused by gas particles colliding with the walls of their container. Increasing the temperature makes particles move faster, so they collide more often and with more force, raising the pressure.

气体压强是由气体粒子撞击容器壁引起的。升高温度会使粒子运动得更快,因此它们碰撞得更频繁、力度更大,从而增大压强。

10. Wordsearch Activity | 词汇搜索活动

Use the wordsearch grid below to find the twelve key words listed. They are hidden horizontally from left to right. Circle each word and then write a short definition.
