📚 High-Frequency Topics and Common Mistakes in IGCSE WJEC Spanish | IGCSE WJEC 西班牙语:高频考点与易错题分析

The IGCSE WJEC Spanish specification rewards students who can respond accurately across listening, reading, speaking and writing. High marks depend less on memorising long word lists and more on controlling a core set of grammar structures and topic vocabulary. This article analyses the most frequently tested points and the errors that WJEC examiners regularly report.

IGCSE WJEC 西班牙语大纲要求考生在听力、阅读、口语和写作中准确答题。高分并不取决于背诵长单词表,而在于掌握核心语法结构和主题词汇。本文分析最高频的考点以及考官经常指出的易错点。

1. The Three Themes and Where Marks Come From | 三大主题与分值来源

WJEC Spanish is assessed through four units, each worth 25%: Unit 1 Speaking, Unit 2 Listening, Unit 3 Reading and Unit 4 Writing. The specification is organised into three main themes: Identity and culture; Wales and the world; and Current and future study and employment.

WJEC 西班牙语由四个单元组成,各占25%:单元1口语、单元2听力、单元3阅读、单元4写作。大纲分为三大主题:身份与文化;威尔士与世界;当前与未来的学习与就业。

Within these themes, high-frequency topics include personal descriptions, family, free time, food and drink, school life, holidays, the environment, social media, jobs and future plans. Questions often combine two topics, so candidates should be ready to move between time frames.

在这些主题中,高频话题包括个人描述、家庭、空闲时间、饮食、校园生活、假期、环境、社交媒体、工作与未来计划。题目常将两个话题结合,因此考生需要能够在不同时态之间灵活转换。

2. Ser vs Estar: The Permanent and the Temporary Trap | ser 与 estar:永久与暂时之分

Ser is used for identity, nationality, origin, permanent characteristics, time and events. Estar is used for location, temporary states, conditions and the present progressive.

ser 用于身份、国籍、来源、永久特征、时间和事件。estar 用于位置、暂时状态、状况以及进行时。

Compare Es alto (He is tall) and Está cansado (He is tired). Also Soy de Gales (I am from Wales) but Estoy en Cardiff (I am in Cardiff). A common WJEC error is Soy en Madrid instead of Estoy en Madrid.

比较 Es alto(他很高)与 Está cansado(他很累)。又如 Soy de Gales(我来自威尔士),但 Estoy en Cardiff(我在加的夫)。WJEC 常见错误是把 Estoy en Madrid 写成 Soy en Madrid。

Use ser Use estar
Identity: Es mi hermano. Location: Está en casa.
Origin: Somos de España. Condition: Estamos cansados.
Time and events: Son las dos; La fiesta es en mi casa. Present progressive: Estoy estudiando.

Some adjectives change meaning with ser and estar: Es aburrido (He is boring) vs Está aburrido (He is bored). Es bueno (He is good) vs Está bueno (It tastes good). These pairs often appear in reading and listening distractors.

有些形容词与 ser 或 estar 搭配时意义不同:Es aburrido(他很无聊)对比 Está aburrido(他感到无聊)。Es bueno(他人很好)对比 Está bueno(味道不错)。这些组合常出现在阅读和听力的干扰项中。

3. Gustar and Similar Verbs: Indirect Object Pronouns | gustar 类动词与间接宾语代词

Gustar does not mean ‘to like’ in a direct subject-verb-object way; it means ‘to be pleasing to’. Therefore the indirect object pronoun is used before the verb, and the verb agrees with the thing liked.

gustar 并不是直接表示“喜欢”的及物动词,而是表示“使……喜欢”。因此动词前使用间接宾语代词,动词的单复数与所指事物一致。

Me gusta el chocolate (Chocolate is pleasing to me) but Me gustan los libros (Books are pleasing to me). The pronouns are me, te, le, nos, os, les.

Me gusta el chocolate(我喜欢巧克力),但 Me gustan los libros(我喜欢书)。代词为 me、te、le、nos、os、les。

Candidates sometimes write Me gusto or Me gusta los libros. Both are wrong because the pronoun must be the indirect object, not the subject, and the verb must agree with the plural object.

考生有时会写 Me gusto 或 Me gusta los libros。这两种都错误,因为代词应为间接宾语而不是主语,动词也需要与复数宾语保持一致。

Other common verbs that work like gustar include encantar, interesar, molestar and doler. For example: Me encantan las vacaciones; A mis padres les interesa la historia.

其他类似 gustar 的常见动词包括 encantar、interesar、molestar 和 doler。例如:Me encantan las vacaciones(我超爱假期);A mis padres les interesa la historia(我父母对历史感兴趣)。

4. Preterite vs Imperfect: Completed Action vs Background | 简单过去时与未完成过去时

The preterite is used for completed actions at a specific time: Ayer fui al cine (Yesterday I went to the cinema). The imperfect is used for descriptions, background information, repeated actions and habitual past situations: Cuando era niño, jugaba al fútbol (When I was a child, I used to play football).

A common mistake is using the imperfect for a single completed event: Ayer iba al cine instead of Ayer fui al cine. Equally, avoid using the preterite for background description: Hacía sol y había mucha gente, not Hizo sol y hubo mucha gente.

常见错误是用未完成过去时表示一次性完成的事件:把 Ayer fui al cine 写成 Ayer iba al cine。同样,描写背景时避免使用简单过去时:应该说 Hacía sol y había mucha gente,而不是 Hizo sol y hubo mucha gente。

5. Por vs Para: Purpose, Cause and Destination | por 与 para 的区别

Para is used for purpose, destination, recipient and deadlines. Por is used for cause, duration, exchange and movement through a place.

para 用于目的、目的地、接收者和截止时间。por 用于原因、持续时间、交换和穿过某地。

Examples with para: Compro el regalo para mi madre (recipient); Voy para Madrid
