📚 IGCSE CAIE Chinese: Speaking and Listening Exam Preparation | IGCSE CAIE 中文:口语与听力备考专项

The IGCSE CAIE Chinese speaking and listening papers often worry students because they test real-time language use rather than passive reading. This revision guide breaks down the exam format, question types, scoring criteria and targeted practice methods so you can build confidence in both receptive and productive skills.

IGCSE CAIE 中文的口语与听力卷常让考生紧张,因为这两张卷子考察的是实时语言运用,而不是被动阅读。本备考指南将拆解考试形式、题型、评分标准与针对性训练方法,帮助你在输入与输出技能上都建立信心。

1. Exam Structure Overview | 考试结构概述

In most CAIE IGCSE Chinese as a Foreign Language (0547) or Second Language (0523) routes, the listening paper lasts around 40 to 50 minutes and includes recorded passages played twice. The speaking paper is usually a one-to-one interview lasting 12 to 15 minutes, often with a warm-up, a role-play or topic card, and a follow-up discussion.

在大多数 CAIE IGCSE 中文作为外语(0547)或第二语言(0523)路线中,听力卷约 40 至 50 分钟,录音段落通常播放两遍。口语卷通常是 12 至 15 分钟的一对一面试,包含热身、角色扮演或话题卡,以及后续讨论。

Both papers reward practical communication rather than perfect knowledge of every character. That means you can still score well if you use context, predict meaning and respond naturally to the examiner.

两张卷子都奖励实际沟通能力,而不是对每个汉字的完美掌握。这意味着即使你没有听懂每个词,只要能借助语境、预测含义并自然回应考官,你依然可以拿高分。

2. Listening Paper: What to Expect | 听力卷:考试预期

Listening tasks typically include multiple choice, matching, gap-fill, true/false and short-answer questions. You will hear different voices, speeds and scenarios such as announcements, conversations and interviews.

听力任务通常包括单选题、匹配题、填空题、判断正误题和简答题。你会听到不同声音、语速和场景,如通知、对话和访谈。

  • Multiple choice | 单选题
  • Matching | 匹配题
  • Gap-fill | 填空题
  • True/False/Not stated | 判断正误/未提及
  • Short answer | 简答题

The recording is usually divided into sections, and each section has a short pause for you to read the questions. Use this pause wisely instead of waiting passively for the audio to start.

录音通常分为若干部分,每部分开始前都有短暂停顿供你阅读题目。要明智地利用这个停顿,而不是被动等待音频开始。

3. Core Listening Skills | 核心听力技能

Before each recording, read the questions and underline keywords. Predict the type of word needed, such as a number, time, place, opinion or reason. This narrows your focus and makes it easier to catch the correct answer.

在每段录音开始前,先读题目并划出关键词。预测需要填写的词类,如数字、时间、地点、观点或原因。这会缩小你的注意范围,让你更容易抓住正确答案。

While listening, do not try to understand every word. Focus on information that answers the question, and listen for signpost words like ‘but’, ‘however’, ‘actually’ and ‘finally’, which often signal a change or key point.

听录音时,不要试图听懂每个词。集中捕捉能回答问题的信息,并注意 ‘but’、’however’、’actually’、’finally’ 等信号词,它们常提示转折或关键点。

Numbers, dates, prices and times are high-frequency answers. Practise listening to Chinese phone numbers, bus numbers, prices and dates so you can write them quickly and accurately.

数字、日期、价格和时间是高频答案。练习听中文电话号码、公交车号、价格和日期,以便你能快速准确地写下来。

4. Common Listening Traps | 听力常见陷阱

A classic trap is the distractor: the recording first gives one piece of information, then corrects or changes it. For example, ‘We will meet at 3pm… oh no, change it to 4pm.’ The correct answer is the final version, not the first one you hear.

经典陷阱是干扰信息:录音先给出一个信息,然后又纠正或改变。例如 ‘We will meet at 3pm… oh no, change it to 4pm.’ 正确答案应该是最终版本,而不是你听到的第一个信息。

Watch out for negative expressions such as ‘not yet’, ‘hardly’, ‘never’ and rhetorical questions, because they can reverse the surface meaning. A sentence like ‘I hardly ever eat fast food’ does not mean ‘I always eat fast food’.

注意否定表达,如 ‘not yet’、’hardly’、’never’ 和反问句,因为它们可能逆转字面意思。像 ‘I hardly ever eat fast food’ 并不表示 ‘I always eat fast food’。

Homophones can also confuse you in Chinese. For example, ‘十’ (ten) and ‘四’ (four) sound different but can be mixed up under pressure, so listen carefully to tones and context.

中文里的同音字或近音字也会让你混淆。例如 ‘十’ 和 ‘四’ 在压力下容易听混,因此要仔细听声调和语境。

5. Speaking Paper: Format and Assessment | 口语卷:形式与评分

The speaking test often has three parts: a short warm-up about yourself, a prepared or unseen topic card with questions, and a broader conversation. The examiner marks you on pronunciation and tones, vocabulary range, grammatical accuracy, fluency and interaction.

口语考试通常分三部分:关于你自己的简短热身、一张准备过或未见过的话题卡问答,以及更广泛的对话。考官从发音与声调、词汇量、语法准确性、流利度和互动能力评分。

Criterion | 评分标准 What It Means | 含义
Pronunciation and tones | 发音与声调 Clear, accurate Chinese sounds and tones | 清晰、准确的汉语发音和声调
Vocabulary | 词汇 Range and appropriateness of words | 词汇的广度和恰当性
Grammar | 语法 Sentence patterns and word order | 句型和语序
Fluency | 流利度 Smooth delivery without too much hesitation | 表达流畅,不过多停顿
Interaction | 互动能力 Asking for clarification and responding naturally | 请求澄清并自然回应

You are not expected to speak like a native speaker. Examiners want to see that you can communicate ideas clearly, use a range of vocabulary and manage simple exchanges even when you make minor errors.

你不需要说得像母语者一样。考官希望看到你能清晰地表达想法、使用一定范围的词汇,并且即使有小错误也能完成简单交流。

6. Building Speaking Confidence | 建立口语自信

Daily speaking is more effective than long weekly practice. Spend 10 to 15 minutes a day answering common questions aloud, recording your answers and listening back for tone errors and hesitations.

每天练习口语比每周长时间练习更有效。每天花 10 至 15 分钟大声回答常见问题,录下自己的回答并回听,找出声调错误和停顿。

Try shadow reading: play a short Chinese audio and repeat immediately, imitating the speaker’s rhythm and intonation. This improves both listening and speaking at the same time.

尝试影子跟读:播放一段简短中文音频并立即复述,模仿说话者的节奏和语调。这能同时提高听力和口语。

Practise thinking in Chinese for one minute before speaking. Replace English filler words like ‘um’ with Chinese fillers such as ‘嗯’, ‘那个’ or ‘让我想一想’.

在开口前先练习用中文思考一分钟。把英文填充词 ‘um’ 换成中文填充词,如 ‘嗯’、’那个’ 或 ‘让我想一想’。

7. Topic Bank and Useful Phrases | 话题库与实用表达

High-frequency IGCSE Chinese topics include self-introduction, family and friends, school life, hobbies, food, shopping, travel, health, festivals and the environment. Prepare two or three points for each topic rather than memorising long scripts.

IGCSE 中文高频话题包括自我介绍、家人朋友、学校生活、爱好、饮食、购物、旅行、健康、节日和环境。为每个话题准备两三个要点,而不是背诵长篇稿子。

  • ‘First… second… finally…’ | ‘首先…其次…最后…’
  • ‘In my opinion…’ | ‘在我看来…’
  • ‘I agree / I disagree because…’ | ‘我同意/不同意,因为…’
  • ‘Could you please repeat that?’ | ‘请您再说一遍好吗?’
  • ‘I think the reason is…’ | ‘我认为原因是…’

Learn topic-specific sentence frames. For example, for holidays you can say ‘我最喜欢的节日是春节,因为家人会一起吃饭。’ For school you can say ‘我最喜欢的科目是中文,因为老师很有趣。’

学习话题专用句型。例如谈到节日时你可以说 ‘我最喜欢的节日是春节,因为家人会一起吃饭。’ 谈到学校时你可以说 ‘我最喜欢的科目是中文,因为老师很有趣。’

8. Role-play and Discussion Techniques | 角色扮演与讨论技巧

In role-plays, read the situation card carefully and note your role, the task and any required details. Use polite language such as ‘请问’ and ‘谢谢’ when the task involves service or requests.

在角色扮演中,仔细阅读情景卡,注意你的角色、任务和任何要求的细节。当任务涉及服务或请求时,使用 ‘请问’、’谢谢’ 等礼貌用语。

When you need thinking time, use fillers like ‘让我想一想’ or ‘这是一个好问题’. If you do not understand, say ‘对不起,我没听清楚,请再说一遍’ rather than staying silent.

当你需要思考时间时,使用 ‘让我想一想’ 或 ‘这是一个好问题’ 等填充语。如果没听懂,说 ‘对不起,我没听清楚,请再说一遍’,而不是保持沉默。
