In Cambridge IGCSE Engineering, extended-response questions are where many candidates gain or lose crucial marks. A strong answer is not just technically correct; it is planned, structured, and directly linked to the command words in the question.

1. Understand the Assessment Objectives | 理解评估目标
IGCSE Engineering written papers usually assess three broad objectives: recalling engineering knowledge, applying it to problems, and evaluating choices or designs. When you write an essay-style answer, the examiner is checking whether you can select relevant facts and use them to build a logical engineering argument.
